FRIDAY WRAP: Kamala, Boeing guilty of fraud, solar production boom, and bony boneless wings

Transcript

It's Friday. We are live and loud. Yeah with that too loud. Yeah a little loud. Oops. This is Ari the data Queen joined by analysts Hall. Matt mascardi hazelnut Rallis and should all intern. I'm sorry. Chantrell, like the mushrooms. Delicious delicious mushrooms on today's. We wrap up. A couple of maybe some musk. I think some Bowen. Yeah there is that but are we always better this week? Last week was a pretty low, I think. Well, let's just say this. I don't know what Sean Paul pulled this week. I'm guessing 45 stories about Kamala Harris. But I know it was not easy to find assholes and you have four good lists. I do. I do feel like mine may just be mediocre good, my four good things that made me feel good. The first time my prediction came true. I said last week that we were gonna feel better this week and we we do we have everyone. I know feels better this week except for maybe Matt had to happen. Sometimes had there is some sort of there's something in the air happy. I don't know if that Dei or what is a little bit of Dei in the kind of sort of Yeah, all right. Well, Damian get us started without the music. There we go. I mean, look, first of all, I got to say this. It was one of the happier moments of my recent life. I was at a, they call it a camp, it was way up in Maine. It was just at least an hour from anyone else. No phone, no cell phone coverage, no Wi-Fi. And then Sunday the owner of the place comes and tell us that Biden is announced. He's stepping down the first of all. Yes I was happy. I love Joe Biden. Actually I think He's the most consequential and important president of my lifetime. That honestly I really honestly believe this but I'm not gonna go into that now. But what I was most happy about was that I got to hear news the old-fashioned way and I didn't hear I didn't have to hear 17,000 annoying opinions about how I should think about the news. I got to sit there and just talk about it with people for a while. And actually contemplate what I thought about it and I, I loved it. I just, I guess I also loved it because I'm also really excited by the woman who's who was running for president and just excited in general, but, but I just love getting these that way. So, that's my first story of the week. Anyway, it's, it doesn't really wait. Yeah, he's the story that you got to go away that Ari and Matt go to every country on earth. I finally went somewhere. Of course, I went to Maine but whatever in Maine, so that's a good news and a pond. What more do I really need? I mean Okay, but here live on a pond with a canoe. So okay, there you go. I I here's how I entered this story and I know that Chantal and her gen Z section is going to cover this in a much more depth. But Harris is not is not only running for president, but she's joining tiktok. Remember Biden, the old man tried to ban tiktok which we know was never really gonna happen, but I just thought it was interesting that she's kind of like she's joining. Tiktok find a banned tiktok too commas, nobody know, but when she is president, She's someone's gonna hand her, the Intel that shows like how much tiktok is the national security problem? Say about this, right? All right, let's let's just skip that my story of the week. My first story of the week is, of course, Biden is stepping down and, and we're gonna, We may have a, not only a woman but not met. Well, half Indian half black. This is, this is competing with Mexico's, president. Claudia sheinbaum. I mean, right, finally, we can catch up to Mexico. Yeah, so there you go. That's the first three weeks Second Story of the week, right? In our wheelhouse. The secret battle for the future of the Murdoch Empire has. Watched anyone watch succession here? I have watched the first season sad. What a Sad group of people. It's the only show about why it's probably one of the best shows ever, and it's all about corporate governance. And yeah, I'm the only one who watched it. But what's amazing is how much it parallels that show. But what we're learning from The New York Times essentially, Is that Rupert Murdoch is moving secretly to change his trust which when he dies and I think he's what 241 years old. I think I don't Trump are the same age aren't they? The trust. As it originally, stands is supposed to hand out equal shares to his four, children Prudence Lachlan, James and Elizabeth. So 25% shares, 25% voting power over the whole Fox Empire, that includes News, Corp, Fox Corp, right? I think it's two, yeah, that's all that covers our database, but now he wants to give it all to Lachlan. Who is, who is the currently still the chair of news Corps and is he still the chair and CEO Fox? I believe, I think so. Yeah, I should power or all the trust voting power, just everything, right? Just everything giving he wants to give him when majority control of the whole entire Lachlan. The New York Times is reporting. The Lachlan was the only one who showed up to Rupert's latest marriage, which is just happened. His 5th wife. And I guess why this is important is because r Is scared that the other three children are not you know, discussing. Horrible conservative. Yeah that's true. And only lock one will further the horrible conservative Empire. So I don't know. This is a great corporate governance battle. Unfolding before our eyes. So, this is right up our wheelhouse. So I had to pick this story. that size, I just like, you know, like the the Murdoch Empire thing like like, I just can't care that much. Like I, I know it's like the most watched thing, and it's basically the between that and social media is the single source of terrible information. And like, there's sickness But, but it was do we ever think that Rupert Murdoch was going to cede control to anyone but some horrible, you know, like conservative asshole. That was his family. Well, which is why him dying and other children his family. Like one of them includes a climate change activist. Yes. Well, the real story is that another dual class company. Is another company where investors another media. Don't get to say anything about what happens with the company that they own right? That's just that's the story here. These are uninvestable assets. So whatever the murdochs do and the drama is just the drama. The real thing is it's an investable asset. All right. What else I will say this that currently Fox Corporation in our data Lachlan, Murdoch controls 75% of influence. So I don't even know yikes you know we're making the assumption that if the trust stands as it is that he'll only control 25% of the Umpire. So we're making the assumption that this building will vote against him, but we don't know that that's true. They might still vote for the family and still, that was part of the drama of succession that even though they all hated, their, their horrible, conservative father, who was basically Rupert Murdoch. They still did things in the family, way voted with the family because everyone just loved the power and money and his family. So even though they were liberal and Murphy angry at the conservative messaging, they didn't care, it was Powers money. So anyway, conservative Costa Nostra. Moving on, tells you got the third. I mean, these are some big stories to me. At least the third story is is, is mine bending? I don't know. I, I'm, I read this earlier and I can't believe what I'm about to say, listen to this. The the justice department submitted an agreement with Boeing on Wednesday. And which the Aerospace giant will plead guilty. Yeah. But listen to what they're playing guilty too? Shut up, audience guilty. No, just let the audience have its moment, some leading, something to a to a fraud charge fraud, a fraud charge for misleading us Regulators, who approved the 737 Max jetliner before before Two of the planes crash killing 346 people. This is, this is crazy. I mean just I'm sorry this is just my mind is just blown by this Boeing pleading guilty to fraud. Can they be convicted of murder now? Why just call the murderer? Why couldn't they? I so part of the deal Boeing admitted that through its employees, it made an agreement by distant honest means to defraud the FAA. So the deal calls for and this is the important part for us the appointment of an independent compliance monitor, Matt, what is that? We were joking before the show that the state, the current state of corporate governance, the current state of the US board, which is supposed to provide independent oversight of company management. It actually it basically needs its own board. Now it needs. Yes, that's correct. It needs aboard. It needs an independent board to oversee it, right? And that's what this deal is called for its Basically calling for an actual set of independent monitors to take care of to look over. Barn, well the reason why we said that is so we created I mean this show is brought to you by free flow analytics, freeflow analytics.com. You can go sign up with an email account, lookup every single director, that's active in the world every day. No joke and and you can find out how they perform and how powerful they are. But our data set includes who they're connected to, what their knowledge is, we have estimates for everything like and we're we can effectively measure how good these people are. But we were talking about this because we are trying to sell this data and and like, Consulting around the data to the people that we basically would be disrupting, right? Like the people who vote and the people who are on boards like so. So we realized that if we wanted the data to get used the way it, should we need another board in between In the investors in the board that could look at the data and say, oh well this is what you should be doing because you are all compromised, right? Like we wouldn't have the Kimball musk gets re-elected problem. If you had an independent board in between voting on whether Kimball musk should be elected because they actually were using data, I it's it is a little bit bananas, but I am dubious that they Boeing is gonna get an actual, like, who's the independent compliance? That's a great question but but to me this this serves as one of the greatest, I don't know. The greatest signs, the greatest statements that what we do is important because we have been screaming about Boeing forever. And the government essentially is telling them is ordering them to have an independent monitor. Basically, what we've been saying, right? Yes. I mean there are real consequences of this. I mean what we hope what we hope for all the corporations that we yell about. We don't We don't want the consequences to be actual death of 3046 people, but again, this is a great, you know, a great example. Maybe the best example ever of why this stuff is important, it does seem to take death in order for anyone pay attention now. That's crazy because this, Happen directly following that, right? Oh, this is 10 year. Yeah, six, seven years later, six. Seven years later like is this because of the recent investigation because of the door plug or is it an like the investigation on know? Because the investigation from 2018 and 2019? When the planes fell out of the sky, that was done but there was the investigation of how the planes fell out of the sky. And then there was the investigation ongoing investigation about How what they told Regulators in advance of these things happening. And effectively, what they've done is lie to Regulators for for years for years, they've lied to regulators and when you look at it 200 and 243 200 444 million dollars is how much they paid, right? That's so that's the fight three. Yeah, three years of Probation and 243 million dollar. Fine, I don't look up these numbers but in six years at an average, you know, total a summary compensation of 20 million a year for Dave Calhoun. You're talking about. He made 120. He almost pay this fine with his salary over those six years but he's not going to the shareholders are paying this fine, the shareholders, the people who owned the company pay the fine, the people who run the company, keep their jobs in the money. Oh, is that a thing? So I forget that Calhoun is still CEO. Still despite like promising, all of us that he'd leave. He's still there. He's still waiting correct. Correct. That's the third big story. And finally, the fourth grade I just had to cover this one just because it made me laugh. Last week, I covered crowdstrike how their CEO is deeply. Sorry about everything. Yeah, he was very sorry but basically he was doing his best to kind of help shut down the internet, right? Like, it affected. Air travel Banks. 911 so many important things that's great, right? It was very, very big meltdown last Friday, they're called they called it. One of the biggest corporate snow days ever because a lot of workers couldn't go to work. They couldn't do their job. So, crowdstrike, this is just silly. I don't even know how this is real crowdstrike is facing new backlash after giving staff and firms. They work with a $10 Uber eat voucher to say sorry for its Global, it outage, right? And this is an actual quote from cloud strike to these people to express our gratitude, your next cup of coffee or late night snack is on us. Oh, here, Yeah, that's true. Yeah, that's right. And they get to stay later late night, snack. I don't like that part. I don't like the inference there. They're there at 1 a.m. but correcting, all they have to be. Yeah, correct and all the issues made by the snow day. So they did cross track did have to admit that this was their error, too. They said that this was a bug in their patch, right? So no. Is there a blaming Microsoft, right? Like, in fact, Elon Musk went on his stupid social media site to say, to laugh at Microsoft and turns out that this was just crowdstrike. And here's the kicker to this story, this is the best part of the story. You think it's already good. Here's the here's the even better part. Several, recipients encountered an error message when trying to make use of their voucher? Which said that they had been that had been canceled by the issuing party and we're no longer valid. Yeah, a crowd strike spokesperson That's right, that's amazing. Who is this? Spokesperson a crowd strike? Spokesperson said Uber had blocked the cards After High usage rates. Triggered a fraud alert, right? Couldn't even get their vouchers in immediately ordered something new. Yeah, that was fast. They were they were actually worried that the vouchers. I think he can get half a latte at Starbucks. I'm sure somebody had to like fight hard to get the money for this. Yeah, it is a dual class company and the, the founder owns 30 20% of the company and other voting power. And the other 10% is owned by the private Equity Venture Capital firm that you know, currents is the current CEO and founder. Yep. So you are talking about a company that the employees would have had to go to Kurtz and be like we got to do something. You gotta send something. And they were like, what about a gift basket? He's like no, two difficult. So 1994 about 10 dollars at Uber Eats 10 dollars, an Uber Eats gets you the fee to get the Uber Eats, gonna say that. Does that include the service charge the tip? Oh, it's not. It's, it's, that is the service charge is like 7.99 for two dollars. It's amazing. Congratulations. Crosstrek, we're just staying relevant. In our show, your options this week are the, it's just Kamala Harris and then the Murdoch Empire drama Boeing. Pleading guilty to fraud and crowd strikes. Ten dollar apology. I'll go first. That didn't work. Ten dollar apology, I think. Belly. Pleading guilty. Wow. Over Wow, really. Yeah. The top one. No, it's not. It's Kamala Harris. It is, I agree, but but it should be bowing guilty to fraud that is frog. The CEO of the United States of America just announced their stepping down in 2025 despite the fact that they could stay there and they they are offering up. Basically, the a Dei candidate, which is what the conservatives have already been talking about that. This is a Dei candidate that this is the which now we know is still amazing. Now we know it's not all black. Now we know is code for black or woman because her qualified. She's she's her mind, she's crazy qualified. I mean I know I mean you could I couldn't think of another person right now what I want to run this country other than Elizabeth Warren but I'm a liberal from New England. So yeah. Oh my God. You so Chantal, what's your vote on this one? I mean obviously I'm covering here so I would agree with that but yeah. Oh no, I'm gonna beat it. I mean I appreciate what you're saying. Sean, Paul and you're right and any other week, but come on. I mean, what are we doing here? Wait, you're moving me on. Yeah, just played off. The winner is Kamala. Harris, that's the story, right? So let me open up Google. Of the week by saying that is obviously the good list of the week. However, I pulled these other stories. So this is so good. Leah's, okay, so good layers to the week and we're gonna start with this one that I hope you guys care about. Just as much as I do. I'm just mad at you, family, Black and Decker, which is based here in Connecticut, actually to sell leaf blower silencer design. Oh yeah, we covered this. That's ever. This is the best news for people in the suburbs. Four engineering students. At Johns Hopkins. They created this module for leaf, blowers that reduced noise, pollution by 37%. That's it. 37% is not enough. That is over a third and that is no. We need more than they completely removed. The high pitched, sound up annoyed them. The most, they started with the leaf blowers on their campus, that they hate. That's why they did it because it was waking them up, like, eight in the morning. Hey, Stanley. How about you? Just? Just convert completely to battery, powered, leaf blowers and then this problem solved those, though. They make know they're still loud. Know the other that one. Yeah, they're still. They're not as loud but they're still loud. The amazing part about this is that it's literally like like a little comb like it's nothing like they invented like a piece of plastic that's like three inches long. It's not that and it's worked so well, it's Stanley, Black and Decker, bought them out. Start selling it to the market by 2025. Oh you know you're right? I like this but this is an old story. Yeah you know you're right Matt though I'm surprised by this so gas powered leaf blowers about 80 to 90 decibels. Electric models about 65 are protection. So, it's still bad. Yeah. My usual shot. How about this playing cbgb's? I have a novel idea. If this company were ever were to fail, which won't ever happen. What about? Let's invent a company and let's, let's invent a tool called, like a rake like a butt. Almost a giant before, right? With a think of a four, multiply the size of that, for like, 100 in your head and then use that to like, scoop up the leaves. No, actually, I can't invent a verb, too. How about you could rake the leaves with the race? Right. How about that? I am going to invent something on top of yours, and it's called The Rake silencer. It's Chase Bank to Bar customers from using credit cards to pay to you. Let me restart. Yeah, she's to bars from using credit cards for pay later loans. Why is that the nation's largest credit card issuer and they will no longer allow? I guess that's what was happening. Their customers were using, it's really a credit cards to pay payments on a different credit line like an Escher drawing. I don't really understand what it personal Ponzi scheme. It is it is anyway. Is it yourself? They have said no more as of October. Well, look, again don't get Crazy Again by The Rake and save yourself some money, right? I mean, Next us, solar production stores by 24%. It just one year. I like this one. I like, does that mean it was caught her out? 20 25%. The first five months of the year, okay, no. It means that construction or solar plants of solar plants have boomed in the US and they all came online at the end of last year. So the energy of information agency that eia, they're predicting that solar production carries by, as much as 42% by the end of 2024. Well, so, finally, we can power all finally the needs of the Silicon Valley, bro, throwing money. They're building. They're building plans for how long does it take to build a solar plant? Like, a solar farm? Yeah, I mean, they did two years. No way. Faster you can do that faster. Yeah. Just wondering because six months I'm trying to figure out like like, Biden. Starts as president yeah, passes the infrastructure, bill, there's money to do solar and then lo and behold, they're doing. There's solar and concept and the production Rises by 42% by the end of 2024. And they're saying solar wind, deployments of these new projects because of this money, they're expected to door if any other energy project and the through this year. And next year, it's almost like magic. It don't say those words. The crazy part though, because the biggest beneficiaries of the Renewables are access. It is Texas, Florida and heavily conservative States, who are legislating. Yeah, that's what's not discrimination against fossil fuels. They're making all the money from these solar plants that culture War over this very sort of simple subject and yet the renewable energy and somehow make a conservative, that would be fun. She should just be okay with that. Yeah. But yes. I like yes. I like this. Yeah, fuck you France. Can we put a star sign? Can we drape a giant flag over the Sun that won't burn? Is that possible? What they gonna work out at University of Texas? Mostly, I think we should, we need to the solar rise. Yeah. See ya again. Another use for a funnel, right? It's quite a little lower silencer. Yeah. All right, and I got one more that I just snuck in there. All right, Microsoft World of Warcraft workers. A vote to unionize, okay? Adds more than 500 workers, too. The total unionized Microsoft employees. Well, there, it's owned by Microsoft, but this is a big deal, because we're Microsoft bought Activision Blizzard for 69 billion dollars. They promised Regulators that they were remain neutral on organizing promise they promise. Yeah, nothing in writing. No. Yeah, that was the deal. Know. They, they spit into their hands and then shook them. So they vote, you know, 500 workers voted to unionize. We'll see how this plays out, but this would bring the total to more than 1700 workers according to the communications workers of America. And you know who loves the story, Bobby kotick, that guy loves this story because he sold and he's a billionaire. Thanks to Microsoft. He does not have to deal with the unions. I think. I mean, this is a huge deal. This, these are white collar workers unionizing, right and video games. They make a lot of dollars. And what do you mean? I think he's talking about miles's, sartorial choice. I will say that. I like this story. All right? But you what, you might have missed. This is new as I think from this morning or yesterday, but the the SAG aftra part of this part of the Screen Actors Guild is Our video game performers, right? The actors who voice video game representing? 100, the union represents 160000 of these performers? I believe. They are many performers. They are, they voted to go on strike beginning today because they are angry about the future of Jenner generative AI. So this is just breaking out of sag after. So there's a I'm sorry. Yeah. I don't I don't understand what the has to do with my story. What do you mean? It's more people in the Video Game World going on strike? How dare you? Okay, you just imagine the numbers bigger, you just mad trying one up, why don't we just include all those stories and say that gamer nerdy types are going on strike? How about we don't vote for that one anyway, because the week is of the group because the performance people are upset that their jobs can be done by AI. That is just bananas. I'm not supporting that strike. I am not supporting. Wow. Well, You guys, you all are pointless. That's what he says, yeah, I know many of them, too. Are you take over? This is going off rails. Good. I just organized, I have to go with the leaf blower story. Hey yeah. I'm really torn between leaf blower and solar production. A huge problem in your street. Yeah, I don't mandate that everyone in your street needs to be using but I don't care about it. It's so loud, I don't bother you. I am Pleasant Street, I was on stage at cbgb's in the Continental. You're already down and he was telling you anyway, you know, it's funny. I just yeah, I had to tell my kids like, I grew up. I'm a gen xer just like Matt's describing I'm deaf. Like I, the music was so unbelievably loud for 20 years, I don't know what's going on. We would go to concerts, would we be in the front marching and nothing in her ears? Are nothing in your ears, you barely had anything on your feet. Like you, it was so loud and then he likes to concerts and then you would leave and put your headphones up to like Volume 15, because? Yeah, because at 10, it was muted on the Sound part of it. It is that four students made a cone that they could sell the battery which ones that your boat to know? I am voting for us solar production. I'm voting for the one that matters like the other ones only kind of matter. Ears matter. I am moderately matter solar production is big, I certainly appreciate what Chantal is saying. Although, I mean, I don't want Chantal to out her family, but I wonder like, do they do they use rakes? I mean, they could I know we use the old-fashioned lawn mower, that has to be push Emoter know. Oh, you use the actual Runway. Oh, like the yeah. Oh the audience, like that, too. The little blades because we don't need any of this nonsense. If we just, you know, we don't even need the Obesity trucks. If we just all like pushed the lawn mower and raped her own leaves but that's a whole other diet. Try. I'm gonna I gotta I sorry I usually I love creating ties but I gotta agree with Matt any any renewable energy source at all any uptick and you're right. You're smart to point out to the, this is something that Biden accomplished and that he's handing off to a woman hopefully that she's even, isn't she even more to the left of Joe on climate causes? She's actually my new planet, maybe more left but on most other things she's actually very much a Centrist I like. But this is a hopefully a good sign of things to come so they're gonna vote for that one, too. That's the winner. obviously, which brings us to Jen's I was doing like Jen's genius. No right? Gen z, e s. Well, that's what I said. It doesn't need the double. Yeah. Okay, I like it. Okay, what do we got? The short one in a little bit. Oh, there are no lovers. Oh, so that's the haters. There's just Stockholm syndrome and haters. And those who escaped, the Stockholm syndrome and cut all on legal and relational ties with their father. Elon Musk transgender daughter says he was an absent and cruel father. And I'm glad that my speaking out. Yeah, a fellow cruel. No One's Gonna have a hard time believing that. No. Yeah, but that was cool. Jenna Wilson a 20 year old gen zero, um, fellow Jones here, talked about musk and kind of put to rest. Some of his fake news that he's put out there about not knowing about the medical forms. You know, it relates to the California legislation, we saw lastly week, unless his Queen to not know anything about Wilson's, you know, medical needs when going transgender and Wilson has been spoken out and, you know, put it all to rest. Yeah, the story is stupid and sad, it's sad for sure. Yeah, there was a there was like it is amazing home with I mean, I thought somebody would grab but Elon musk's story this week. It is amazing how I almost stories. There was a lot of stories this week. I almost don't even understand it anymore. Like, I don't, I don't even know why. because I don't know if you mentioned this Chantal, I'm sorry but he the reason he was using to move, Is it SpaceX or is it Twitter X? I think it's recent Texas because of the California legislation, right? I mean what a bananas thought to shareholders that that's the reason I mean that alone should disqualify you from being CEO, right? That's the five companies. You're moving a corporate entity to another state because of your one just bizarre political view on one social issue. Like and this is the guy who has preached to all of us to that CEO should not be involved with social political issues. Like this is not, this is not an acceptable. He is and this is not an acceptable reason to move a corporate entity. I just said, yeah, another reason why any shareholder supporting? This guy is crazy. It's just crazy to me. It's all shareholders. He won 77% or 74% of the pay vote. He, they won a landslide getting Tesla to Texas. They re-elected, Kimball musk and James Murdoch. These are no one cares, like no one so. Well, done to Texas, really don't care. See, just make me money. That's all it is. Except who does care of the other Tesla customers, right? That the sale, the employees? Yeah. Sales. At least in California. Especially the sales are plummeting for Tesla cars, Ari. And I covered earlier this week that he musk said in the last aren't earnings call, I think it was the earnings call. He said, the expectation is to use humanoid robots to build the Tesla's by 2025 and My my guess is they don't mind schwa stickers drawn on the bathroom wall so that that's how you that's what we're talking about robot. Yeah that woke robots don't exist yet. So okay killed by the woke. Mind virus. Exactly. Yeah. The second on Headline goes outside of the us though. Um Daily Mail says that labor says Tori law against cancer culture is at work and universities could be taxed because we'll culture is a burden. So, it could be taxed. They're taxing woke culture. Wait, explain this story acts acts. Oh, but yes. Yeah, the and I'll let you finish. But what we are yeah we are seeing a lot of this, right? We're seeing the a lot of the anti-wolf legislation we just saw this. I think in Texas know was it maybe Oklahoma or Texas Oklahoma. It was the laws that they're creating are so annoying and dumb and burdensome and costly that they're just they're not even worth it in the first place. I think that's kind of what you're saying here. Sean tall. Yeah no exactly. My question. Just with this headline was how would this be on Forest? Well, that's been the problem with all these things and like the all the anti-esg anti-woke anti Dei stuff is basically trying to say you, if you can't discriminate on like you're discriminating on Race by having like a committee to help black people, but that means you're discriminating against political ideologies. So, we're gonna protect those, but then in reality, it's like, yeah, that's not enforcing that it's not really a thing. Like, you can't like, first of all, it's not a marginalized Community. Second of all, like it's not, you can't force that that they're missing. Of course. Yeah. So, yeah, none of these are really enforceable and Oklahoma, the federal judge, I think just basically gave a permanent stage of the anti ESG legislation. I don't, I don't remember the language, but there was a federal group, a federal that said that basically, it was a threat to National Security to these anti-esg laws were threats National Security essentially come into that, okay? So, moving on to the story, I still from Damien and joins Tick Tock after Biden, signs. I wonder why she didn't. Join his VP. She was a campaigning for anything. You got a campaign to VP. You're gonna help you get help, get reelected. She saw the future. So yeah, so already presidential foresight there, but obviously interesting with the comparison, Foxx mentions later that Trump as president did Issue the executive order to ban tiktok That Was Then challenging court and also covered how he has since reversed his position. So saying that there are a lot of people on tiktok that love it. And that if the upper band Facebook and Mark Zuckerberg has mortar mortal enemy would benefit, um, and according to him and enemy of the people, Yeah. Absolutely that's correct. Wait explain to me I don't want to go too deep here on Tick Tock I know but I'm about to What is the BRAT summer Chantal? Well, that is what was the Washington Post? Has been asking all week. Um, so basically they're all these edits on tiktok and on everyone told me old. Yeah, yeah. This is like, you have to be chronically online to understand it a little bit, but I guess it's gone really viral. So it's hitting a wide audience, but Brett summer. Charlie XCX pop icon right now, really popular album, debuting among gen Z. It's called brat. She's actually the one who did the music for Barbie the Barbie movie. Okay. Um, and they're making a lot of edits about Kamala Harris in her famous woman. You think you just a lot of a coconut tree, um, you exist in the context of all that came before you, oh, beautiful because it's just a little silly. Um, and it gains a wide viewership because it's just so chaotic and crazy. And Charlie XCX has officially on endorsed Kamala Harris and her campaign. Yeah. So, um, all the training Wait. Somebody explained who? That is the Papa? John's. Yeah, that's I'm just kidding. I still don't, I don't care about these people. Well, you should care because finally we found a good use for tiktok which is to help elect the first female president United States. That's gonna endorse come here. Tell us, Chantal win. Win Wilt Taylor Swift endorse. When will Travis Kelce That's the real question Chantal. Have you been to a Taylor Swift show? I have when I was in seventh grade. Oh, so you're an old school. Okay, so you're older the game now. You're like an ancient Swifty. Oh, you like her old stuff, but can you please know it happens? Do you see how it happens? That's how everybody had. Like, we're here saying, like Taylor Swift is just the next version of somebody else when we were Alanis Morissette or whatever. And and, and even Chantal is like, yeah, I like Taylor Swift, but I like her old stuff. Yeah, she was good. Yeah, I do want to answer one thing though seriously. When will Taylor indoors? You know, you have an information at now. Let's let's get some Buzz going right before the election. I like it. She has to go. Yeah, she's busy touring. All right, so your three gen Z stories. Always done you cutting her off. Are you done Chantal? Yeah, I mean, a little bit more to say about. Yeah. Let's say, let's say a man. Well, basically, this is a huge and more than 70 million 170 million. That's, that's half. That's half the country. That's crazy crazy. And more than the third use the app to keep up with politics, which is way more than Facebook or Instagram or any other type of social media. So tiktok political influence off, you know, actually I don't think that Biden has an account but Harrison Trump was having an account because they it's a political Nest necessity right now. Be funny. If Biden had an account while I was stories about. Yeah, the stories about he joined but like did one post where he ate a cookie or something, it sounds like ourselves. Like it literally is our social Accounts. Well I mean Trump's first post on it in. Really. White. It has over 100 64 million views on the app. Whereas Kamala Harris currently her first video has 10 million but that was posted 16 hours ago. So I would say that's a pretty good viewership. Yeah, something tells me this I know we're joking about it but this is an important part of this campaign, her right? Her her relevance to young people. Yes. And she's gen Z content. Creators have been the focus of both the Democratic and Republican parties. There are inviting them to the White House. There are inviting them to new briefings of Russia's and Asian on Ukraine. They're invited well to the RNC convention, they're being paid to be influencers for the platform. So why is there already was Jaggers? My heart. Can I, I will say this though, I I said this to somebody. Yes, a few days ago that what Kamala does represent for young people is what what they missed out on during the, the Obama, the first Obama election, right? This, this this this Goodwill, this feeling of joy and hope back in 2008 it can now kind of be recreated for them, having the first hasn't existed since. No, it hasn't you're right, but it, but it was such an important moment. It's a, it's an important moment of Our Lives that. I'm sure young people probably, you know, some feel envious that that they missed out on. And then this is their chance to get the first, you know, woman in the white house. So Matt, you're right, you're struggling, but I wouldn't underestimate the power that was nothing to do with tiktok. The latest poll, showed that 18 to 34 year olds favorite Comal Harris 60 to 40. That's actually a really Big gap considering Biden. Was they favored Trump over Biden, right? So this is a big, it's a big. They were Trump was like, slightly favored by most people's, by young people refrained from supporting by that, right? Push had come to shove more young. People would have voted by him but no one. No one was happy with him. But the likelihood is they probably wouldn't have actually shown up to know, they would have voted. So now they're likely to show up to vote just because it's Kamala. What are you fucking need tiktok for? Do we need, do we deemed that? Can we get rid of that? Well, it sounds like the tiktok influencers are doing it before her events so that summer Right. All right, for that one. I'm not voting for that. I hate it, it's very gen Z. It's remember, this is a gen z e s, that's correct, that's why I hate it, you know, Elon musk's transgender daughter disowned him. I can't the labor says a Tory law against cancel culture. He's gonna be asked because it's actually stupid. And a problem, I like that and Harris is on tiktok Kamala Harris is on tiktok like that one, too. Sorry, you go first. Yeah, I think the one that affects jenzie right now, Is Harris going on tiktok future? President? Damian just come on. It has to be that story has to be. All right. Now, I'm not gonna vote because he should be anyway because it's it's a happy week. For once you tell us the Jerks this week. All right. Good I have. Less than most weeks. Oh good. It was hard. Um, that's a signal, here's some data. There are just three banks in in this state that are publicly traded and stuck in the state because their state of incorporation, there's like nowhere else to go leaving 100% Connecticut. I'm gonna get there. 171 publicly traded US banks that can just leave the state if they want to 171. They could just leave. Just close your branch. You got business everywhere else so you don't have to be there. There is one insurer in the state that is publicly traded leaving 41, other insurers in the United States that can just stop Insurance there, right? Like they don't, they're not there whatever. So far, here's the headline, the treasury Department warns that an anti-woke Florida, banking law is a national security risk, right? And your second headline, is another home insurance company is getting out of Florida. Wow, your asshole is anyone staying in Florida? Anyone. Is anybody anybody you live there? Why? Why do what an alligator? What about them? If you are, I would be mad alligators. Probably have better places to go. Like, try go to Barbados. Come on. Look, there are three Banks. And one insurer, that have an excuse, why they are not going to leave Florida because that's their state of incorporation. I see what you're saying. That means, they're 171 and 41 insurers respectively that can just leave the stupid state that D banked itself, they set up a law. The law said that banks are no longer allowed to consider. Anything political in, their lending, including political speech, political quote, liens or political quote affiliation? You know what that includes? If you're a member of Isis. Yeah, that is a political affiliation, right? It also contributes federal regulations that say you can't lend to certain like terrorist groups or, you know, sanctioned individuals all that kind of stuff. So the banks in Florida, now have a choice to make the either lend to those groups and comply with Florida's laws or don't lend to those groups and risk getting sued by a terrorist for not getting a loan. It's absolutely insane and they had there was no need for them to do this. It was the dumbest it was purely political Kabuki theater. It's all DeSantis opened them up to Houston quality. Oh football on people run. Yeah, meanwhile insurers Can't consider climate change and their underwriting that makes sense. That's right. As politicians talk. Yeah, exactly. They can't ever that one. Yeah. Which means that and simultaneously by legislation, they actually cap the amount that ensures can raise their rates. So they have said, don't consider climate change and all. So don't raise your rates. So what can ensure do? Except what the headline says, which is just leave, there's nothing else to do it. Very business friendly, not that. I need to point this out to anyone, but this is the knot South Dakota, right? This is a floor, a Florida is in the heart of hurricane of the hurricane activity in the United States and it's surrounded by water on all sides. I mean, this is just it is these state that you would want to consider climate change for everything you do it. Is these state that where is the most important? So, here's my question. What are the 171 other Banks and 41 other insurance companies? Even thinking about doing there, what is it anyone thinking about staying in Florida? I don't know. Dwayne Wade left, right? He took his family, buy a house, you cannot ensure it. You you can get a loan but you might not like banks are just going to have to they they can't, they be too afraid to lend to you because everyone's a national security risk now because they don't know, they can't collect any information on you. Like, what can you even do there? Like, you get low taxes, you go to the beach, and you have low, other beaches, you have no job beaches, get out of Florida. Anyone in Florida, you're an asshole. All right. Number two, even if you're listening or showing you live in Florida, you're still an asshole. So, sorry, number two is a rehash of a different asshole of the week, but it's still the same asshole, the week, I'm just headline, we don't even need data, but I have it. A headline is Boeing leads guilty to fraud and fatal 737 Max Crashes. Fine to 243.6 million dollars. Please cancel fraud. The asshole is investors. Yeah, 77% for vote for CEO and chair. Dave, Calhoun. He's been there for 15 years. He's been instrumental in both, he was on the board that greenlit the planes that crashed and he stayed on the board and been CEO since the crashes. That guy is a fraudster. You just said fraud. She Legally Legally speaking. You are correct. He is that's correct. Yes. He was legally convicted of he's pleaded to to fraud under his 88% and 86% votes for the two longest tenured directors. Otherwise and here's the worst part to me on news that they pled guilty to fraud And find 244 million dollars, the stock jumped 2% that day on news that they were guilty. Okay. So investors are paying 244 million dollars to the government because Boeing committed fraud. The investors are paying that money. They own the company. The people who made the decisions that cost that money have kept their jobs. They get voted in by those investors. Not only that there are options are worth 2% more after pleading guilty for fraud, you fuking idiot investors. When you going to realize that the people who run the companies actually matter and you can replace them. Stop fucking around and vote out idiots like Dave Calhoun. Don't use your ESG skeptic policy to tell me like this. I'm this is like, this is too much G for you. There's too much governance for you. Vote them out. They are convicted fraudsters now everyone, the power. Yeah, let's not forget this very this, very simple premise with Dave, current CEO and board member. Dave, Calhoun that we screamed about for many shows is that that you could have. He wasn't if you had voted him out this year at the 2024 AGM, he would still be CEO. You're not, you're not disrupting the entire company. You're just taking him off the board that they couldn't even remove him from the board to me, right? I mean, that's beyond me, why does he need to sit on an oversight board? Overseeing himself as he preparation frogs himself failing, right? It's crazy. This shareholders need this to keep happening. And, and we've been saying this on this show since 2019, we've had data showing how connected this board is. We've shown poor performance for the entire board. There's nothing, there's no stone left on turned by free float, about bowing at this point when it comes to, who's governing This company and yet you shouldn't need the data at all. To say, a guy convicted of fraud should not be your representative to run the company. That's what that should be. That simple as Americans need to learn how to vote. It's unbelievable that you don't get in fact, in a quarter of American companies by free, float data more than more slightly, more than a quarter of American companies are actually totalitarian one person controls the majority of the power influence, either through dual class shares or shareholdings that they have or family or connections on the board. Any number of ways you can sort of maintain control of a company. That means you only really get to vote at 75% of the companies that you might own, because it doesn't matter at the other 25% really at all. So exercise, that vote you morons. You should not 77% agree. That a fraudster should stay there. You shouldn't agree on that. All right. That's the end of that rant. I don't think for today's show for today. And finally, another one with no data. This is just guys just an asshole. The asshole is Robbie Starbucks. A few real name. If you don't know who Robbie Starbucks, is the terrible name. You. You would you might recognize some of the music videos that he actually produced and directed. He was a director for music videos. He did it from like 2010 to 2017 or so 2013 or so, something like that. But he did like Machine Gun, Kelly Band metric. He there's some bands that I recognized on there or groups that I recognize. Here's a headline, Harley Davidson Sparks boycott call for going quote, totally woke. Yeah, Harley Davidson. That's right. Shouldn't love how how did they go? Totally. Yeah. How did Robin Starbucks is a conservative activist increasingly and investment activists? Who is behind dear company and Tractor Supply? Retracting their Dei commitments and now he's targeting Harley-Davidson. Apparently everyone can just be a vet. Now they can just be a fucking blowhard and say some stuff and people are listening to them because he He edited Machine Gun Kelly's, like music video. I don't even he has no credibility. He ran for a Tennessee senatorial position and lost. So he has money, he doesn't have a lot of money, he's just a fucking blowhard. And well credit where credit is Lord. Yeah. Um he is actually targeting brands that are typically used by rural and rural adjacent white people, right? Like deer, Harley Davidson Tractor Supply hate to get these companies so he's figured out like he knows where to start the base. Is Groups of Laura large groups of white people who buy from companies that deal mostly with them. Anyone of them that has a diversity officer, a Dei commitment says Fusion. He's going after them and saying your customers don't want this effectively, he's telling these companies, your customers are all white racists. They don't want any of this bullshit and they are listening because of him, because of Bud Light. Because of Bud Light because they're listening, that's why they're listening. Meanwhile, Kamala Harris is the nominee. She is 150 million dollars in three days by a country that might actually be less racist than you think. It's Robbie Starbucks. You are just a fucking turd just stop it. Just stop it. Just fix all of this. Chantal, have you heard of Robbie Starbucks? Nope. Not before today, okay, never good. That's good. There's good news, Matt. He's a conservative influencer and an idiot, right? Like, I don't know like he's exists in one bubble but what he's doing is effectively changing companies and that is the amazing part because we hear, I've been trying to use data to let like investors change companies with information. He just says, where are white people at? And who's got a Dei policy? I'm going to say all the white people are racist. Actually, if you're a white person living in rural America and you're not a racist, you should get really angry at this. Yeah, because they're calling, he's using you to change the way companies work. It doesn't reflect what you think. So those are my assholes you've got oh, I'm staying in Florida. Investors and Robbie Starbucks. Wait that's at Boeing at Boeing. Yeah. Starbucks. Oh man I mean Just to keep it simple. I gotta go with Robbie's, Starbucks. I mean he's just I that's a very pure asshole, it's like a guy who's an asshole, darn. It's also just a, it's a shameful to, it's a shameful campaign. I mean, and an attacking, they're already attacking Kamala for either being black or being a woman or, you know, they're referring to her as a Dei higher, which is, you know, absolutely ludicrous. Just to find him to be a shameful schmuck an asshole. Real good. Yeah, I agree. This single Standalone asshole. This week, Sean tell, what would your vote ban? I'm going to say Boeing, I say oh yeah. Yes, I agree with Sean told only saying that. I must say, Sean, Paul's wrong. But Chantal has not been on the show like our and I have to hear the 75 other randoms against Boeing. The mats are already done. So we're just tired. Just refreshing. It's refreshing to hear about a different asshole. Maybe want some lemonade from Starbucks. Okay. My question is this as you play us out? Of that. How can we be, the, the Robbie Starbucks on our side of things? How can we, how can we achieve? Robbie Starbucks, some from the free flow perspective if anyone has any questions, move on. Okay, shut all your fire gonna be me eating a cookie Chantal? All right, what else what's what is that headline is? Who do I did not see any I won? I have two, you choose one of my Damien. You start? I'm starting because mine made me laugh, and I know this is really nerdy and stupid and nobody cares about this, but me, but I just thought the headline was funny as a concept. Okay, so bear with me. This is a bit of a theoretical idea here. The headline is Terex Terex Corporation. To acquire ESG for two billion dollars like no. Okay, I know the ESG actually stands for it's a it's a company called Environmental Solutions group. I just thought it was funny, the idea of a company buying ESG, right? And that's what I read that headline, I fast read it as Texas to a car. You better billion. That's what Apple used to do. Apple used to buy some of my like some great like products. Like I remember they bought a music app. I used to look called Groove Shark. I think just to kill it they didn't even do anything with it. They just bought it because they couldn't compete with it. It was better. Coating, they could come up with, they just bought it to kill it. So that would be great if Texas bought. Yes, she just to kill it. That's my stupid. Sorry you going next? I think this is so funny. I'm so glad I found it. Champagne sells sales down worldwide in 2024 industry. EX To cite lack of cheer sad that's sad. Is dead now though right? You know, like imagine that imagine that earnings call like our reporting sales are down 2.3% this year. Really? We think the the headwind here is a lack of joy and cheer like it's not There's been a real move to different alcohols that bring on depression. We're that is a good one. Matt. All right. Matt yours is the winner. I gotta say, um, here's mine mostly because the context of it after this, but just a pure headline itself, it's like it's just amazing. The headline is can boneless wings include bones High Court weighs in. I just of any Supreme Court, weighing in, on that idea, like that concept. Yeah. In fact, Not only did the court weigh in. It was divided in a four to three opinion by Ohio Supreme Court, the Supreme Court in Ohio, they found that consumers should not expect boneless wings to be free of Bones. Wait, whoa, not decision, they should say it. Again they they said boneless wings. Should not be expected to have no bones in them. What boneless wings can have? They found that? Why Ohio Supreme Court said bonus Wings might have bones. They said that swing is like a, it's like a nugget or Tender. What is a boy? Well after? So I guess that a restaurant, basically got a bone stuck in his throat, from a boneless wing and soon he can't sue for that. He sued, it went all the way to the Ohio State throughout who wins a split decision, decided that boneless wings, can indeed have bones in them. That's not making them boneless, and he's the same headline, even better. Not only the same question, but it's so dumb. The answer is the opposite. But these are the same red States Supreme Court that there are throwing out like Dei committees. But yet boneless wings can have bones. Well, they can, they can, because they can't discriminate against bones. Yeah. All right, winner, the wait, who won the headline? Yes. Definitely the bones. Yeah, the bones, right. I'm voting for I like the idea of terrorists, buying. Yes, she like this one. You lost. All right, that means we are on winter. Let's get out of the show. It's going in third hours. I didn't have the same winners anyone else. All right, Damien how could we hold? How could there be any winner other than Kamala Harris and or just the country. I don't know how we have another winner. Other than that that's my way I really like that. She broke the fundraising record for 24 hours in US history with 81 million dollars. How can we raise that much in 24 hours to do that way too much. Well Sean tell you had a slightly different winner The Democratic Party. Yeah, yeah, we should all get ready for not only a really great candidacy, a really great campaign but also sometime entertainment because Harris is ready to date. Oh, holy on, which I will but I don't want to see that think of Ella cringey. Yeah, it's gonna be definitely cringy. My winner was climate change because look, if you think about it yes, Kamala Harris broke single day, fundraising history, but climate change, broke the highest temperature record ever recorded. And then the next day, broke it again. Climate change is a very big winner. This week is that because that is that because the money she raised was through like Bitcoin and all the Bitcoin Farm servers were going crazy. Is that why didn't say? But I do think climate change is ends up the big winner. This week, predictions predictions, I don't have a prediction this week. That's mine is the, I think Kamala is gonna start to win the hearts of not voters. I mean, I think she'll do that too, but, but CEOs, I think we're gonna start to see some CEOs coming over. Yeah, I think we're gonna see some CEO love know, I think. Well, that's a boring. Prediction. I just wanted to think of something else with Kamala, that's Shot. He just I'm saying Bloomberg is going to give some of his massive billions of dollars too. It's kind of crazy prediction. Didn't you? I have a Bloomberg story of friction last time too. Maybe she has some answers. Yeah. What's going on? You trying to get a job. A Bloomberg, right? Now, I think that was you, Chantal shuttle just tell anymore. This is product placement. I think, Chantal is Yeah. This is product placement. She's like, this is how you get a job as, you know, that's true. That's true. So, I congrats to Sean, Paul for getting a job of working either at Bloomberg or tiktok when she prediction is Kamala's win in November like this already Sparks. So, I'm not predicting that comes winning November. She's winning in November Sparks, a sudden, slate of female black, female CEOs, at Fortune, 500 or Indian, right, half Indian, I predict that at least three new black female CEO announced in 2025, unfortunately, number for that universe. That's a monster number. That's all we got. That is already the data. Queen Chantal. The intern. He's not scaredy. We are free float. Come back next week when I think we're actually all here all week. For the first time this summer, we're gonna do that. Oh no. Are he's not here. Nice. Try. So not quite. But come back next week. We'll talk to you on Tuesday and maybe Thursday and maybe Friday until then goodbye.
Data as of Oct 14, 2026
