Transcript

It's Friday. That sounds fake. I feel Carson. She's trying. She's well, we are alive. There it is. Today with a wrap up show this is Ari the data Queen joined by Anna's hole Matt McGarvey and hazelnut Rollins. Yeah I bought literally already sent me to the bathroom this morning. On today's weekly wrap up we have stories of the week. Oh come on. Now. But there's there's good stuff that happened this week. I think. I don't know. That that's true. Good that happened. I don't know. Anyone agree with you ever about that, I guess we'll have to wait till my section. All right, well, let's get right into Damien sections so that we can ask first. Well, you're gonna have to go quickly because everybody's got to leave All right, he's got to go to the bathroom. I gotta go pick up my kids. All right, let's start at the top. I'm calling this open AI week and basically, because it's this series of headlines I captured. It's like they're like the new Tesla, the new Elon Musk open AI week. Let's start with Sam Altman cell phone with scar, Joe reveals a troubling question, about open AI. What's with these clowns? That's the first time is that the actual story from Business Insider? I'm gonna go, I'm gonna go quickly through these the Scarlett, Johansson dispute, suggest a pattern for open Ai and Sam Altman. Maybe we should be worried that the company are sharing in ai's. Next, wave doesn't seem entirely honest, Sam Altman, ignoring Scarlett Johansson's, lack of consent. Shows us exactly what type of person he really is after spending years. Relentlessly. Chasing Fame, Sam Altman, complains that he's getting recognized in public too much open, AI employees. Forced to sign NDA preventing them from ever criticizing company. Ever open AI you stock to silence dissent. That's A separate article African workers doing open, ai's training, say they're being subjected to modern day slavery. Oops. Open AI co-founder says artificial general intelligence is coming fast in Need Some reasonable limits. Yeah well that's saying something right I guess and then as an offshoot to all that leading tech companies sign AI safety pledges you get a left. Had a pledge in a while and you on this one for open, AI week X, Google CEO, Eric Schmidt has an easy solution to the terrifying idea of AI with free will quote. We're going to unplug them on, so that's the solution like just over plug. It's like a toaster. Yes, exactly. Yeah. It's a totally a toaster, microwave them. I'm scared after this week of. Can we just say that every headline you just read was this week? I know that was all this week, it's one week, we don't even cover. Open AI in our data. That was one week here are the ramifications of of silencing your board of getting rid of the people who don't agree, 100% was Samuel. And this is the you know this is part of that story that. Yeah, I don't like any of this. It's what it is. Is the cult of Brooke personality is what it is. That's the first store that we Second Story. Which we, you know, cover a lot here. A glass. Cliff alert. We have a glass Cliff, CEO alert. Is a different kind of one. Here's the headline FDIC chair. Martin Gruenberg Greenberg says he will resign after hostile workplace claims and outside report has found evidence of a misogynistic and patriarchal culture at the banking regulator including sexual harassment. Stalking all kinds of horrible things and who is the stock? Yes, and who was the person who were they've already? The Reuters has reported. That might be the replacement is a woman named Kristen Johnson leading. Finally got a chance to clean up another mess. It's just this is what governance matters. Well this is the one of the reasons, one of the reasons this is like The most boring Federal Deposit Insurance. This is the what that is this is got to be the most boring regulator in the country. How does this even happen? This is ridiculous. I guess we're going to ask Martin on his way out the door, not third story that uses Ticketmaster owner, Live Nation in 6, brick up a budget Monopoly, I don't care. Sure. This is literally 30 years too late, you know? The only approved this thing in 2010, this takeover, that was the Takeover, right? So now we're okay. So 14 years since that happened but just to figure out a year, it is a Pearl Jam sued Ticketmaster sat in front of Justice in the 90s saying that they had a monopoly in the nighties. Well, this is good. This is like, like, this is ridiculous. This is happening. Now, this is so dumb, and the final story of the week, which I think happened. Technically, happened, late last week, but it happened right after recorded our show. I wanted to put this one in there. The Bowing shareholders vote to approve the entire board, including CEO, Dave Calhoun. And oh, Dave called legs and Dave Cohen's 33 million dollars, CEO pay package. I had to put it in here because we talked a lot about the meeting last week, but the results actually came in like mere minutes after the show. So, I wanted to, yeah, we had Results though and I ranted about the show. Yeah, yeah, yeah. That's right. Down the record. There's no question to me who the winner is this week. It's not even close. Yeah, maybe ours should go first, it's open. And yes, it is open AI, 100%. This is mostly because of Scarlett, Johansson, this is ridiculous. I mean like, I'm spending my time teaching my kids about consent and like, you don't hit somebody. You don't like, no, don't let anyone put their hands on you. Like it's all about and a tech bro. Up there multiple times asking so Johansson. Can I use your voice because he wanted to sound like a dystopian movie her. He just stole her voice when she said. No, I mean is this really Rose operate? We've covered this million times. This is where they operate. This is really, I hope scar. Joe is like a line too far. I hope that's when people like you steal scar jokes. Like, if you did Taylor Swift, then we then it'd be a real problem. Oh, she had done. Taylor Swift piggybacking on the other. Two big headlines. There's obviously a there's a pattern concern here but that they're forcing employees to sign in NBA's from ever criticizing the company that's using stock as a way to do doing that right ever. Yeah. And again and African workers saying that they're being subjected to modern day slavery. I mean, you know I what can you say? I don't I don't yeah. Okay, what you can say is, let's do good list. Yes, let's move on. You know what, I think about it. I got some good stuff so you get to be the judges of that. I don't listen my first one. I got two headlines, but it's called Matt still wrong. No, it's Oh look The Audience thinks such a joke because that's it couldn't be possible. Yeah, and the first headline is Disney characters and parade performers, vote to unionize by wide margin Actors, Equity to represent, 1700 workers. Well, there's 1700 goofies. A Disneyland, you believe there are only 1700 movies? No, I don't but you know this is the labor movement still going. So Matt's wrong and what was the big loss in the union movement this week? What does not in good list. The UAW actually lost a vote in Alabama at the Mercedes Mercedes or whatever, it was a very narrow loss and the wind that good. Are you kidding me? And of course you were David was already claiming that. There's so much illegal stuff going on in that boat. So who knows? Maybe the story isn't over. Go ahead, are you? And second from Matt still wrong. Well, this is how they are so maybe doesn't apply but Malaysia. Airlines Union calls for CEO to resign calls for CEO for resigns a union. That's probably for the CEO to resign. I don't see a lot of you to resign on a daily. Well, we haven't utilized it. David. Do you want to use? It can be the non CEO Union. The answer is, yes. Can I tell you what else, can I tell? You? A few other things from the airlines, which are, which could have fallen into this category. We talked about, was it, what was it? It was Dubai Airlines. That's what the name of an Emirates Emirates. It was Emirates. They gave a bonus of like, four months of pay, 80% or 20, 20 weeks back this day just this week, Singapore Airlines to pay staff, bonus of eight months salary. Yeah. And and not to mention that both Spirit Airlines and Frontier. This is the power of even threatening good regulation right spirit and Frontier posted that they're canceling. All fees associated with like changing your tickets. So again yeah this is how this is the power of negotiation and this is why I say to all ESG May Sayers, this is why I say to all ESG newspapers to shut up. Because and people who are upset with like you know Cheryl proposals is that there is a art, a negotiation that doesn't involves many mechanisms. That's all I'm gonna say. I agree. Damian. And this is one of them and you're calling for the CEO to resign. You're right. You're right. Thank you. Thank you. Number two, Calpers to vote against all acts on board. Yeah helpers. What about that? Okay, there's not, I don't know if you guys know about Calpers, I don't know if there's another one but just stop, this is a week. I'm gonna let the audience cheer until they're done. I can make you feel slightly bad about this man. Know you Exxon this week just this week. The courts have said that they the lawsuit against our Juniper capital and follow this. They are, they're, they're not allowed to sue follow this. That's Been dropped because they're an international NGO, but they can still Sue Arjuna Capital, go forward. I don't get that lawsuit. When there's no board left, guess how quickly the lawsuit gets dropped. I'm with like, and this is why Calpers is doing this, this is why. Yes, that's exactly right because this isn't an insane lawsuit and the only lever here is vote out the entire board. This is the greatest thing I've ever even our suggestion on proxy counting was voted out three members, right? And this touching well everybody mentioned this, but Ticketmaster Sam Walton. Getting sued Samuel. Oh yeah, I don't know like the Monopoly. This is wonderful. I think it's a little early for this. I mean Well, we could vote again on that one again, when there's a victory. Okay, but when there is a victory, we can vote on it again but it's not really good. Yeah that's right. Another easy slam dunk goodly. I think for me I have a clear winner. I think it's Gotta Be Calpers because this is ours. This is our area, right? This is our this is our wheelhouse more than that. This is just even if it wasn't my wheelhouse I'd be like yeah do it. I stand between. I know you're like let me put the best one cup which is time for you to call us too. We have some data you could use on Calpers. What are you doing? Like you should be voting against every board that. Well, according to our data, okay? It's Calpers let me tell you. There are gonna be thousands of instances where it won't be so easy. You won't be able to vote against the entire world. We can help you actually Target the right directors of vote against and have a reason. Now it's why you chose this call us just call us. Somebody who's listening to this show, just forward it to Calpers because I know that they want to listen but they can't. You probably have. Yeah, all the cows. All the colors. Everybody named Kyle Ellis. He lives down on Woodbridge Lane. All right, let's do. Wait. It's me. Ya asshole. I think Ari's back. It's a nice song like this song. All right, here's the data. Age, 42 years old, race, white gender male. This is about Matt occupation, CEO of, major Tech startup and angel investor. What is this? It's the average person on the meta created an entire AI Advisory Board, composed entirely of white man, oh yes. When I looked through who had actually was it is Pat Collison the co-founder of stripe. He's like 14 years old. And by that, I mean, 35, Matt Friedman, the X GitHub CEO, Tobi lutke, the CEO of Shopify, because, you know, who's gonna be really good at putting guardrails on AI, the guy who wants to sell you stuff at Shopify that guy what's to use, AI song, Hurst who's an angel investor and x Microsoft. Because Microsoft had no, it has no vested interest in AI taking over the Earth. Those are the four people on Mark. Zuckerberg's, it's not meta. It's more Zuckerberg who picked an AI advisory Council. And those are the four people who are on it. I'm really glad you chose the story because I was, I actually had this headline marked in my segment, but, but the headline that I chose set at better, which is Mark Zuckerberg assembly because that's the problem, right? That's not, it's not the meta board, it's not It's Mark Zuckerberg because he controls metaphors and a story. So that's your first asshole, that's an easy asshole. And the asshole to me, is both Morehead, four cheeked asshole, four-headed, it is Mark Zuckerberg and it is the four people on the board person like like seriously if if you invited me to to an AI advisory Council and I looked around the room and it was like four white guys and they were all my age and they were all the carbon copies of Mark Zuckerberg. I I would be like I don't think I should be here. I think you need like us. Something else. This is someone who knows. AI anything. I mean he just wants to surround himself with yes people right. It's just himself, just doesn't want anyone to like say no he wants to hang out with himself constantly all the time. Well shareholders. And you know the listing exchanges, this is they've given him that power. All right, asshole number two, there are two data points. And unfortunately, Damian already alluded to this, but plus 10 million 173,341 dollars, that's the salary increase overall, the overall that all I did was take the summary compensation from last year and the summary compensation from this year, subtracted. Them. Wow. And 62% agreement. Those are the only two numbers that matter here. Here's the headline. Boeing says cash flow is worse than it thoughts, even? Yeah, it's even worse than a thought. After the AGM house investor assholes voted to re-elect Calhoun and give him a tremendous amount of money. They voted. No one off of this board like Calpers wants to vote out the entire Exxon board for a lawsuit. They voted 0 people off this board. Let me ask you. What is the timing of this announcement? Did they have his information before the AGM? Like what they delayed discussion of it. They they're Leaves because of all the stuff that's going on. So they delayed it and they magically delayed it until five days after the AGM at which point the CFO came out and said they will likely be cash flow negative this year. They will only burn cash. I think that my favorite will not make money. My favorite ESG whistleblower Desiree. Fixler. I mean, she's the world's greatest ESG Whistler I mean she's just fantastic. She should be going into bowing and looking into the delayed announcement of this because really this might have disrupted voting for the meeting. She should really look into she's a whistle, she's getting. You should get in there that she understands socialist. That's so social. I keep going. So your asshole. Number two is investors again. It's always investors here because it's not the delayed announcement. No. It's the latest. Hate that. Okay, to everything. And then like the stock dropped after the CFO came out with this, the stock dropped over 7% in one day and it's like you guys, they paid dividend King, the same people are going to give you different outcomes like this is all a con game. All right. Number three, we're just, we're making record time. Go ahead. Number has plans after the show. Yeah. It's almost like I got to leave them. I got no plans suck. All right, here. This is a little bit more long-winded but I'm gonna read the whole thing to you. Here's a quote. As a long-term growth investor are interests. Are largely delegated to the board. So they're saying straight up, we're just giving the board their power, the board's purpose is to ensure the company's Prosperity okay as a minimum we expect the board to effectively fulfill its responsibilities which include board composition succession planning, Capital allocation executive remuneration, and audit and Control Function. Here's the kicker quote, it should provide support and oversight of the executive management team and implementing the business strategy. And here's another one, at the same time, it should protect the interests and Investments of the company shareholders and ensure a businesses sustainability. Okay, here's your headline, Tesla, investor, Scottish mortgage to back. Musk's 56 billion dollar paid package and you looked at one thing that they said, that the board should do, it should be bringing different views and perspectives, right? I don't know that includes Kimball musk know. I mean, Kimball does have the perspective of a cattle rancher, so he lives in Brooklyn, not Austin. So I guess that's different. so, In the end here. We are voting for Tesla's pay package. Because that provides support and oversight to the executive management team, it protects the interest Investments of company shareholders. Those quotes are directly from Scottish mortgage Zone by Bailey Gifford. It's directly from their ESG and proxy voting policy really is a person. What is Billy? It's a no, it's a asset manager. So those three options, it's basically two investors, the investors who voted for Boeing, 62% of them, and Scottish mortgage slash Bailey Gifford. And then the Bro, bored watching this one's easy for me. Are you go first? It's easy for me too. I do not understand why met I would come out with announcement saying that Mark Zuckerberg created, and AI advisory Council. Like this is just a group chat on his phone. That's this is your channel. What's up? What's up? Like, why signal, why? First of all, I got two questions here. When it when is the US going to break up their Monopoly? What are we gonna Instagram WhatsApp location? You know? They will, they're just gonna wait till 30 years from now. When it when Taylor Swift get involved, first, second of all, when is the rest of the world gonna cut catch up to our concern, that there is one single white, bro, we called Dropout, who is running this Monopoly? And then, you know, finds four people that look exactly like him to help him run, it better or worse? I, I will say, what are they gonna catch up to our thoughts here? So we, I did a proxy countdown on Wednesday because Damien wasn't around. So I had to do everything by myself and it was how dare you. I was around a very important duty and I covered meta And my suggestion was not to bother voting, like you vote against everybody at meta, there's a protest vote but you lose, right? Like so it's just a protest vote and you're registering your protest, but you're gonna lose and then you vote for every shareholder proposal, including the one by the anti-woke that they just vote for all of them. What I actually suggested was Target directors who are on meta's board but also on other boards. Yes, that orange genius dictatorships. I said if you want to pressure Mark Zuckerberg into sun setting, his dual class share so that he has total and absolute control. Then the only way to do that is to make it toxic for anyone to ever be on his board, right? Like you have to make it, you have to deal with the people who are sitting in the room with him who are the only ones who might be able to say? Hey Mark, It's time. Voter Mount somewhere else. Anyway. All right, so the winner here. Wouldn't it be great if it meta if we had like a member of the City Bank, fat finger incident, where they just happen? Yeah, that's great. What if there was a meta fat finger incident where he accidentally voted against himself, he voted against all like that. Yeah. Because it's really his vote. Right. It is here prediction. It's his fat finger that does all the vote. Yeah, he works out so hard, that exactly. That means meta's AI advisory Mark Zuckerberg's, a advice that whole week. All right, bunch of sweeps. This is the fastest week ever, usually, all your headlights her headlight is you're upset about it. Take up all of them. I had a rabbit for you because it is certain thought process this week and I'm gonna go right at it. Thank you for introducing me. So, I, I actually had three headlines that you all missed. First of all, headline. Army missed a single herd of bison. Can help capture CO2 from over 40,000 cars. Scientists fine. Okay, are you missed that one? For goodness. Okay, here's one that Matt missed for, as holy. So the week American Airlines backtracks after blaming child for being filmed in bathroom, they said an outside lawyer, made an error blaming a nine year old for not know, don't laugh through this. They, they blame the nine-year-old for not. A hidden camera in the airplane bathroom. They suggested that she should have seen the camera. They blame us right now. American Airlines is backtracking saying, well, it wasn't one of our lawyers. It was an outside lawyer. Oh, this is why they hire outside canceled, right? So they can, so they can this way, they can blame somebody else, still your higher, so that's one that Miss. And then a headline that Jesse the money whisper missed. Yes, here's this headline micro Plastics found in every human testicle. Wow, wow. I Don't Know sample from my time. I don't know what's going on here. I don't know. That's a good headline. Well, I got two go see you all Cooks attached to bottle caps. Keep hitting. So, drinkers in the face. I love that. That's a sign from from God. Stop drinking Coke people. That's it. That's where that is is an entire Seinfeld episode? That's like, you can just see that playing out. Okay? Microsoft co-pilot will watch you play Minecraft. Tell you what you're doing wrong. Yeah, I don't like that one at all. That makes me feel creepy. So great. That makes me feel creepy who choose for your game. What, if you're trying to make mistakes? What if you're trying to be trying to make mistakes? You tell it. Hey, I'm trying to make mistakes and then I'll probably tell you. All right. Mine is the winner though. Um, Google search AI recommends changing your car's blinker fluid which is a made-up thing that does not exist. That I'm trying to remember the number Matt, though. The number I saw, was that 50? I try to remember the headline, it was like, oh, just over 50% of all responses, like all AI, recommendation, blah, blah were wrong. Oh, it's just over half. That's how much wrong information that they're Doling out at this point, because they're because they're getting the information from exactly from all sources, Reddit users. And like, The AI console of Mark's friends. Like this is where this is what they're sourcing to figure out the world. Yeah, when you're Source, information is Facebook posts that your your destined to basically have change your blinker fluid, change your blinker fluid. Actually got worried. When I saw that, my first thought was like, shit, I never changed my blinker. All right, which headline is a headline yes, this week. I don't know, the vote for myself every week. Yeah. Um I'm I'm torn between blaming a nine year old girl for not seeing a hidden camera and my own which is blinker fluid. I'm going with blinker fluid. I think that's funny. I think that's funny. All right, I'm actually surprised you didn't pick microppose found in every human testicle. I did like that one too. It's the every that makes that one so good. I wish I did. I wish I knew, but I don't they just said every I can't, I I'm I I can't vote for Aries because it's a protest because Ari always votes for her own headlines, which makes me think about the best. There's something wrong with Aries. So I'm just gonna support Matt. I like the idea of a car. Blinker fluid, I like that. And I drop is that I want that. I want blinker fluid, which is now we are. We're like done, we're done with the show. This is like, how many minutes? Wait, how did we do? This I don't understand. We usually we Babble on hot what's that Aries? Not feeling well because she's car sick and I have to go so we're ripping through it. All right, who won the week? I have a tentative answer. I hope there's a question mark after this response women at the FDIC Huh. You just one of your stories was a glass cliff and no, I know. But they it looks like that they're rooting out. A horrible problem. They're shining a light on on something horrible and they're making systemic changes. Yeah. That sounds like a week winner for the week. Well, but seriously, but these things, but these things are important. And this is another, you know, this is another use of G. This is another use of governance. I mean, these things are important. You know, I don't think it's not important. I just saying, I'm just might actually be the losers up till accordingly yesterday, according to the biology of this show, which I created you can't technically argue with my winner. This is my, I will probably have to use that argument too major Banks. CEO says, he only took his four point two million dollar job on the condition. He could work from home, who's the winner? The major Bank not because he has a 4.2 million dollar job but because I think it could work from home. Oh, they can all work from home. They really let him work from home. Like the time, I don't get that the whole to winner this week is something to someone totally different. It is sustainability Chiefs. Because here's the headline. A different executive sustainability. Chiefs say, their roles have become more complex and relevant. Yes, I'm being relevant. There were irrelevant. I love. Yeah, I love that. Like, the headline is like, they're now relevant guys, guys. My favorite Chiefs, especially after this horrible week. Where remember, we went into depth about how horrible the owners are the Kansas City Chiefs. Yeah, basically, coming from like this white supremacist, horrible, cheating, lying background. And then this, I think it's this week, the big story is that they're dipshit kicker is basically telling women that that that their best thing they could ever do is be a homemaker, right? Like, they should just stay home and shut up. And he's uncomfortable with gay culture, blah, blah, blah. So I'm gonna tell you, Matt, my favorite Chiefs. Now officially are sustainability Chiefs, there it is. Yeah. All right, who's got rid of? Okay. I hope you're listening closely to the some of the headlines I'm saying because my, my prediction relies on a couple that headlines I mentioned my prediction is Bison. Testicles are going to save the planet by storing all known CO2 and microplastics. Wow. Must be big. Yeah that's a big bison. Tall order. It's multiple bison. Don't forget bison. Onions bison is plural of bison. So it's all the Bison. It's not all the biceps. All right. I like that specifically in their testicle and every testicle and every testicle, of course. Well I think Taylor Swift her team start their own ticket in business. It's time, you know, just are you insane for that? Pretty like this is what you want. So you want Taylor Swift. That's a prediction which she is worse than Live Match. She charges like, 2000 dollars or whatever for a ticket. She doesn't. That's the problem. Yeah, she's not charging. I don't know on the secondary. I don't, I do think that the irony is not, the second should look at what's happening with, you know, Ticketmaster Live Nation and say, well, our biggest band Pearl Jam or one of our biggest bands not nearly important enough. But Taylor Swift gets like five tickets wrong and the sales of her tour and the world fucking freaks out and we break up the company that that is going to win, I guess. All right, I'm gonna play us out on this which is rather than retraining its AI, Google launches a line of blinker fluid. That's, that's the only way out like a Google auto parts store like that, like a Google. I like the idea that AI is wrong so much that these companies basically just have to start making them all right, things. So then the right more, then it's like, he's blinker fluid. It's like, yeah, it's like Mark, Zuckerberg's original oversight board, right? Like that's their version of blinker. Fluid. That's blinker fluid. Non-existent nothing. Else told him I'm scared, we were free full, we'll be back next week. When we come back, we'll be back on Tuesday. We'll be back here on Tuesday. Yeah, we'd be working Monday. I got no life anymore. I mean, we got the holiday here. If you were celebrating the holiday, have a good holiday weekend. If you are not, then don't. And which case you saw like a human being like that. The blinker fluid. That's in my eyes.
