Oh yeah. I mean it's that doesn't get you fired up. I don't know what a little bit live. From the ISS. We don't actually give a shit employee coat closet. It's an all-new terrific. Tuesday edition of business pants, joined by our good game. Super players are the data Queen and analysts whole map mascardi. Yeah, You're gonna say live. That would be I is this Nelson builds three-point line? Yeah. And today is carbon tax. Scented CEO, Kendall called April. 2nd 2024, part two of the world's most insipid, ESG bracket game, the March Madness, good game. Yeah, sure. I was wondering where they were round two. Our show today is being sponsored by free flow analytics. The only ESG data platform to measure real bored influence and diversity. Power gaps. Yeah. Does that I don't like on the audience? Just all collectively shuts up at once creepy, I don't know how to control them. This is part two of our ESG, March Madness bracket game. I hope you listened to part one, otherwise you're already lost and you're probably already tuning over to Joe Rogan or whatever. If part one you're lost. Anyway, I imagine if your fans of the ESG space, then your other podcast you listen to is Joe Rogan, right? Yeah, there's only two podcasts on Joe Rogan. That's it. That's the whole universe. So here's how this works. Last time I selected the years Best, good game, headlines, all with, basically, your rating of 10, and I put them in a bracket against each other. And then, I also picked the latest good game headlines from the last few weeks and we voted, and we played games, and we met and already decided and argued. And that's what we're going to do again. This is round two of our big March Madness final round. Isn't it champion after that next time? Because how long you want to do this? Like you want to, you want to have multiple rounds in one show with the same headlines? I don't think you do, Matt. I think it's I don't want to have multiple rounds of it at all. Well, I'm ready. We'll make the finals of in a week or two, and we'll try to wrap that one up quickly because the, all right, so what the whole thing is a mess, the rules are simple. I'm gonna pit two headlines against each other, both of which have been deemed to be good and you just decide which is the best which, which is the actual good. Hello. Look. Best we have good, he is headline. We have listeners clients relative, All the time asking us to stop being so goddamn negative, the good game, represents an opportunity to try to find some good news in the ESG space whether it's about corporate governance news with whether it's about. Okay, so that's not labor unions, I don't know anything. So here we go, you ready? All right, let's do it. Yeah. I get to play the music every time, right? Really, this is an opportunity just for you and re to weigh in on things. It's really an opportunity for me to play that music. I like the listeners, like when Ari and Matt argue and talk about stuff, so this is an opportunity for that backboard breaking. Here we go, just on that. So here's I have six, contests from the last few weeks, I have six March Madness, ESG contest, for the last two weeks. Let's start with a just a generic March, Madness matchup. You'll see what I mean when I pick these two headlines, here are the two good game headlines that you have to vote on The first one, this is potentially, once in a generation AT&T marketing head, says, Caitlin Clark is a big fat, a big, sorry, a big deal for women's sports and the second headline women's March Madness, ad Revenue, doubled this year according to Disney. So those are your two March Madness. Good game, headlines Disney would say that because they're woke? Well, they want the money too, because, because ESPN is showing the women's tournament match. Yes. So sorry Nelson. Tells you probably already out on this because yes. All of the women teams feature only women tournament have to be allowed to the question for, you know, since I sat on the couch for five straight hours last night watching, both women games and yes, they need all women to make it work. Yes. I enjoyed up for. Yeah. Another trial to get ESPN. Oh I Could get you but don't help Disney's not listening. um, okay. So AT&T marketing heads, which has Caitlin Clark is a big deal about March Madness, ad Revenue. I mean, this one feels easy to me. Oh, go ahead. Oh no, you have to, you guys have to agree. You're on the tiebreaker. Oh, are we how? No, not a good revenue? Of course. Yeah, sad River. That's the winner. Let's move on. I mean, like someone saying someone else is a big deal. Why do I even care? Next? Matchup from the last few weeks, this is a corporate governance nerd matchup. Okay. First headline, how Dana Walden could defy critics? And become Disney's first, female, CEO. We talk all the time about how one of the unusual strengths, the Disney board, is its female power. Even after board, chair, Susan Arnold stepped down a few years back. This, it's still a very powerful board led by a lot of women. So, maybe, maybe Dana Wolfe is going to be the next CEO because We talk a lot about board successors. Yes first one second headline. I don't know if you saw this story earlier but two Warner Brothers Discovery directors have resigned after an Anti-Trust probe because On the boards, according to the the government, they sit on the boards of competitors that Stephen Myron and Steven neuhaus. So to Steve's what and they didn't know this, they knew this but the Department of Justice is taking interest in this there. Yeah. This is very nerdy stuff. I know a very nerdy corporate governance, I'm nerdy. It's like, I'm not even sure that, I like. Which one do I care about? Oh, you know, the game I'm playing right? Come on. You don't like a little, we don't have enough CEOs. Female CEOs in S&P 500. Can't you at least support that CEO? First of all, a female CEO is, this isn't a female CEO. This is could, and Define critic, okay? To become the female. Yes, we're criticizing her and she's not even like next in line to be seeing what. Like so, and then two directors resigned after an Anti-Trust Pro, meaning they got on the board investors said they were fine. Yeah, they get on the board and that took the Department of Justice to be like, not so fine. It's not like, they read their bios or experience skills where they've ever worked before what they think the story and I A coordinate our data, these two Steve's represent 10% of total influence at Warner Bros Discovery thing. That's not much. With forcing directors to resign, at least doing? Yeah, I'm gonna agree with that. Somebody, somebody making a director, resign is always kind of how about this next category in our big March Madness. I don't even know what this is called ESG bracket game. New England states, fight back. That's the name of this matchup first headline, Connecticut. Wants to penalize ensures for backing fossil fuel projects, and Vermont advances Bill requiring fossil fuel companies, pay for damage. Caused by climate change, which New England State. Are you backing there? The New England states need. Is it gonna be Connecticut? Yukon is both men's and women's teams going to the final four. You feel? I'm gonna go you both live in Connecticut. Oh, really? You're going with Vermont? Because they're advancing the bill, whereas Connecticut just wants to do something. I actually, I do think so. Connecticut used to be a hub for health insurance. Absolutely Hartford know, for insurance, right? Yeah. Except not like property and casually. T is much, although they had HSB, but but they've all mostly left. No car for steamboats. How dare you? But their headquarters are no longer in Connecticut, they moved the headquarters. They wanted the tax advantages and Connecticut is a high tech state. I'm So what does that mean? It means that I don't think that they're going to penalize them for reels, right? Like, you know, Vermont want them to stay. Um, I think Vermont could actually do it, but it's gonna get challenged in court immediately. So I I'm gonna go with Vermont, I guess I'll go. You guys are crapping in all my good news. Let's try this category. This is good. This is like me. Let's try this category. The Elon Musk sucks matchup. Oh, there we go. There we go. Finally, I first headline, Twitter usage in us as Fallen by a 5th since Elon musk's takeover. Also, also, according to Fidelity, I think got rid of a bunch of shares yesterday. And according to, to that headline, the overall value of Twitter since he is bought. It is falling by 72%. I believe, yeah, that's sounds right. That's okay. So that's the first headline. Twitter usage down. Second headline, lawsuit from Elon. Masks X against anti-hate speech, group dismissed judge rules at that lawsuit, was an attempt to punish Free Speech. Can you? I can't imagine that. I do like, did you watch the Don Lemon interview at all anybody? Unfortunately, I unfortunately, I did watch chunks of it. It was, it was difficult to get through. It was cringe. Yes. And and like, Elon stood on His Highest pedestal and talked about how he's a free speech absolutist. And that Don Lemon wasn't. He kept saying, like, Don, you just want to censor everybody. You want to send, I don't know where to get and don't lemons. Like, I don't, what are you talking about? Like, yeah, I love Free Speech, I'm fine. What are you talking about? He's but there's a difference between moderation and, you know, and free speech and he's like, no. All moderation. Is basically like, you know, like you, you're just censoring this, all you're doing, And he said an anti-hate group and fire Don Lemon immediately after and fire Don Lemon, because he didn't like the words coming out of his face. I'm gonna go with the lawsuit. I love the, that's something that actually happened, and I'm really actually disappointed that you said is down by just a fifth. Yeah, but value values down like 77%, but usage is down by a fifth. Why is anybody on this platform? Um, you know, I like the 73% of her, I'm gonna go with that, but that wasn't the headline. That was another one that was a, but Damien, you have to break the tie already made her choice. I just like did a judge officially in a lawsuit said that. He was that Elon Musk was attempting to punish Free Speech. It's on record now, I like that. It's So that's the winner. Next matchup was a big data matchup two big data companies, Google agrees to delete Incognito data, despite prior claim that that's impossible. Oh, wow. And regular says, something's impossible. That just makes me laugh and Regulators for Microsoft to unbundle teams from office. This is what we're fighting really unbundling teams from Office like which is a bigger win for stakeholders here. If? Everyone stops using teams. That's seems to me to be a huge win because I hate to do hate teams. I never use it even more. Are you use it harder? That's why they're unbundling it. It's just really Damian. You've outdone yourself with insipidus worst. Good game headlines. You know what's funny is that that these struck me as the best. So I'd really do our new, I don't do it in the world. Our News tagging Department really does tag a lot of depressing stuff. So yeah, I'm gonna go with Google because they finally figured out how to make the impossible. Well, I'll tell you if they found controls. So good, I'll tell you are my keyboard. I have a Windows computer. I have like backspace, but also have a delete button. I don't really know which one to use, you know what I mean? So I can see what they're see why they're confused. I, I didn't realize that we were busy unbundling teams and not breaking up Mark, Zuckerberg's, 87% control, Mark Zuckerberg, please. Yes. Can we help? You know, his latest bundling of open AI, with Microsoft. About that connection. Do we need that? I mean, it's like, it's bananas that like, we're spending our time on teams. Like, what did we really do? Everybody hates teams. Maybe, that's our gateway drug. The team the gateway drug. Like I just think you know Amazon I mean. I like when they say something's impossible and then they're like, no, it's not. And they're like, okay, it's not. And that's really the way that ended right. And finally, in our headlines, from the last two weeks, in our March Madness, ESG bracket game, the most voted the most pointless game by the entire, by the entire issue Community. Yeah, he's coming out soon. I think in May, but we got the most insipid and pointless ESG game. No to the world. This last category is called the Workers Unite first headline California. Fast food workers are now making 20 dollars an hour. Other businesses might have to catch up. I like that one. The second headline, Union employees are about 100,000 dollars richer than non-union workers. According to the FED as labor movement continues, its winning streak This was pretty easy for me. Oh yeah, really. Go ahead. Yeah, I am interested to see how the minimum wage hike is gonna work out for California and fast food workers. Okay? Calling that I want to win. Matt, do you agree with that or do I have to bring? I don't I well. So I've read is a lot of headlines about how because of the minimum wage, all these fast food. Companies are laying everybody off. Well, they put the car and A higher them all back. Yeah. How old they run their business interested. I'm so excited to see how it's gonna play out because I hear that and I'm sure some will get laid off. And what's that? I know how it's gonna play, but isn't there a fringe benefits Society? That's true. It will have to close locations. That sounds good to me, too. That's right. It is it? I know it's a win but like the problem is going into an election year, fear-mongering about like the price of cheeseburgers relationship big man. How you? And we already went through a period where before this came into effect McDonald's was charging like seven dollars for three french fries because of you know they were jacking the price up on everything. I like the union employees are 100,000 dollars richer than non-union workers. That's like a hard number being used by the FED to effectively say unions work to improve the financial outcomes of the employees unions work. I wonder what the fast food workers that just got. That pay hike. Our unionized see. There you go and therefore making a shit down. Now, you're correct this. Now this is a tough one for me. I have to break this tie. Well, I like both of these. I feel like, I've I'll just go for the union. Union employees. I got to be pro-union. I was surprising to vote for that one. Yeah, just the right answer. You always support the union. I love you and you're good as headlines on Friday. All right. That's the early games. Let's get to our late games. This is a this is these are the from last our last March Madness. Already show. I like, now we're good. Yeah, we're so you'll probably remember some of these headlines. These are these were our top headlines from the past year. Yeah, Matt. Yeah, but wait a minute. Yeah. Oh yeah, of course cue the music. What am I doing here? Gonna get the People pump. You gotta get jacked. Come on, both McDonald's. So these next seven, contests represent our top headlines from the last 12 months. Here we go. On the first game, Nestle faces. Investor Challenge from share action over, healthy food targets, and versus total energy sued over its responsibility for climate change. In Belgium's, first ever climate action against the multinational company. Ah, Belgium suing like Wow, you went fast. Um to be yeah because seem bigger rights are challenged from Sharon action. Seems like the kind of thing that no one votes for like but sued actually seems to have some by a country. Yeah that's gonna agree. That's that's the correct and a real country it's not like the Vatican City or something like that fake country. Uh next matchup Olivia, Rodrigo concert hands out free morning after pills in Missouri, a state where abortions are illegal versus the SEC is cracking down on investment advisors that falsely claimed to use AI. I don't know how that one that must go with Olivia. What's your vote share that pissed off? Oh I think you're wrong. I love the SEC cracking down investment advisors Falls Lake. Mead to use a while he loves that. He doesn't even understand because using AI know but they're I love when the SEC basically says, like imagine, if the SEC woke up tomorrow and said, okay, no, but okay, you claim to do do diligence on your directors as part of your furry Duty, prove it, All right, now that's streaming but now but that's what they're saying, they're crazy, excites you, is that excites you that excites me because they're setting press what's gonna happen is every investment advisor. All of the sudden is going to stop using AI, like every single one of them is gonna be like, oh no, we don't use AI. I mean, we looked at AI, but we just, we just were talking about it. I love that, I love that. Well, this this matchup goes to overtime and the winner is Olivia, Rodrigo concerts. I'm seeing Olivia Rodrigo as the CEO of something and she's doing the right thing, and I like that, I like back to stakeholders next match up. Stream wealth as power must be regulated. According to 31 year old heiress, who was letting 50 strangers. Give her 27. I don't know how million dollars away versus versus 7 million. Top seed here millionaire banking boss says, ESG investing is good for business. If that makes me woke shoot me according to Standard Chartered. CEO Bill Winters. Yeah, I mean, shoot me. That's just there's no way shoot me isn't winning. I'm voting for shoot me. Next match, are you? Well yeah. It's you guys are breathing through these around his next game Kaiser Permanente. I know this is a favorite of Aries Kaiser Permanente. Union strike mounting largest US Healthcare walkout in decades versus Nissan to launch only all electric car models in Europe starting. Now this is a big no it's not hard really so hard. I loved The Kaiser strike. I'm curious. What Matt's gonna say that it's not hard? That's the one you're voting Ferrari. Kaiser strikes. I'm voting for a Nissan. Yes the right answer. The right answer is Nissan. Why is Nissan the right answer? Now now it's starting. 35 starting now. Nobody like us. I love that like that day. They were like, okay, stop selling those only these. I like the first 20, 50, and you. And let's get to our final three matchups. And again, we'll wrap up this big March Madness, ESG tournament and the next good game show, which is coming. I don't know next week, and if two weeks who knows, nobody knows, here's your job. Here we go, a record. Oh, this is, this is from last year's March Madness, Tournament a record. 10 million tune in for NCAA, women's basketball final. Let's gonna be way harder this year. I bet, but that's the first headline and the second headline is I don't know how this headline won. A pizza company is letting customers buy now and pay when they're dead. Yes. I don't get that headline. Why you two voted for that but that's voted for it again. That one's the winner, understand that one, I agree, but that's really still the winner. I don't understand that. That's the other dog, right? Oh, that this year, the women's NCAA tournament is gonna have more viewers than last year. We know that already, they might have one more viewer than this guess what? Every single year, let's say, from now for 50 years from now, the women's NCAA tournament has more viewers. I still, haven't paid for my pizza. Well, you will when you're dead though, when I am dead. Yeah, I'm just saying, here we go. It's not just tiktok French. Also warn against what happened, Instagram versus lorielle rolls out product impact. Labels in Canada, putting it right? On the label a big warning. That's my dream. You know, Matt like putting the, our power Gap numbers are female. Power Gap number is right on the label of a Kit Kat bar. Yet, I think you broke this title last week because you went with France. I don't know how this one got through. Well, I don't know, it's up to you. I have two, I have Canada and France now. So you got outside The French can warn about a whole bunch of things, but what are they doing about it? Yeah, that's correct. Well, I think there were no way, this one is labels. I think, the reason why this one is because we're we're always pissed that that people are fighting against tiktok country but why not fight against them all? Yeah. So the winner is Canada loses to Canada. Actually putting like nutrition labels on packages. And finally this is a big exhaustion show. Didn't do it. Loreal. Did it again. We'll wrap up this show in our next, good game. We'll have the winner of our good. This is one of our shorter shows and I'm more tired. We're at 24 minutes already, and this is short to you. Like this has been a bundle of energy. I'll try to slow the roll on this last one. Here we go. Last contest of the Day. Cue the music. Matt last contest. Oh, look at that. You want me to music that? Okay, here we go. One of these. You love. I don't know why but you loved one of these. State Farm. State Farm will no longer offer. New home, insurance policies in California over a while fire concerned as you like that versus FDA advisors vote unanimously in favor of OTC. Birth control pills. How is this? That's like a one versus one. See you guys love you. What do you think? Oh, I can't believe we're gonna have like a final four in which like are we ever gonna get there? I'm woke suit me. Yeah, totally energy sued over responsibility. Oh no, we get we got these ones up here where it's like Vermont has a bill. Okay. I love the insurance thing. However, then it just comes down to taxpayers paying for this. so, I love the over the counter birth control pills, even more That's what I'm gonna go with and it sounds like the Supreme Court Supreme Court which is which is now talk about that right discussing that case is gonna punch maybe and not restricted selling of those pills. Am I right about that, they ruled that the six week band could go ahead in Florida, but they punted on the question of the pillows getting the pills right? Which is a good which is good puns. Oh maybe well well the states can still do something about it so it's it's unclear whether it's good. It's but clearly, they didn't want to take a stand because if they take a stand, they'll be rights in the, you know, what do you think they should take a stand? Do you agree with her on this one? It's either job. It's really hard C. I love that State Farm isn't doing home insurance policies. Particularly in well, State Farm also pulled out of Florida for completely out of all completely, really not completely like a partial to pull out of Florida. State Farm is really basically saying, like, look, climate change is making you all uninsurable. I think I have to go with the FDA all so though it has to be the FDA the oh I agree with that Applause. Yeah, I feel like that's a bigger deal and it's gonna settle things. Whereas State Farm is a slow roll to not ensuring anything. All right, that's your good game for April 2nd 2024. So what is what are the brackets look like next week? Do we have brackets next week? What do we have to figure out how to end this thing? We gotta, we gotta I haven't really quite you, added things for this. I know I have a confused. I the end of this is really good because they're the ones that we picked last. Yeah. I gotta I gotta figure out how to wrap this thing up because it's like, it's an out of control Beast this, this contest that was hard to pick between those. I think you have all these ones from the last two weeks, and they just have to, we just have to narrow down to one, and then it's head to head, and we're in the final bracket. We just need a final bracket. Well, I think you're right. I think we'll have a, well, we'll do our Elite eight, and then we'll get to our final four and we'll Championship. We'll just wrap this thing up. Well, we'll figure by 2025 next week. We'll quickly wrap up the March Madness tournament, and then we'll do a few. Business. They maybe we can have our right some business Nuggets next week. Know, if you want to laugh, I got the jokes. Yeah we haven't heard any like Ari Biz nugget Headliners. I would love to hear some of those. I think Ari lasted her own jokes and that's how we know that that's it. That hazelnut raw lesson are the data queen. I am your animal. So, I'm at scrubby, we are free float. Come back on Thursday, we have a proxy countdown and which we're covering Airbus, Airbus the anti Boeing I'm telling you, this is the last time I ever want to do European Cup. There's their so complicated, they're possible to figure out what's going on. But on Friday, we'll wrap up the And goodbye.
