Transcript

I missed a countdown, but it's Friday. And we are live and alive from West Hartford Connecticut, excuse me. This is Ari the data Queen. What? Yeah she's he's on West Hartford oops. Joined by analysts old Matt McCarty. Jesse the money Whisperer and hazelnut rollers who was not in West Hartford Connecticut on today's weekly wrap-up. Mark Zuckerberg is Mortal Tesla sales up to from South Korea and I think Exxon Exxon itself himself. Oh yeah. You don't get all of that was like a question, you know, I read those headlines at the speed of light. So we're going early today. We're going early and you know what we are doing today listener. We got Story of the week. Good least of the week as holy of the week exhausting of the week and then who won the week and predictions. Whoa. Start us off story of the week, please. I bear with me. I have five, but I'm gonna go quickly. Oh only one of them. Only one of them needs any explanation though. Meta first one, meta, warned that Mark Zuckerberg could die at any moment that's in their 10K, in their risk. And the risk factor section of their 10K. Although you know really maybe every company should just say that everyone in the company could die. Wait, is there a risk that he could no longer be there? But the risk that he is there, that's not a wrist. Yeah, which one is the bigger risk being alive? Certainly has helped shareholders meaning himself because he just, you know, that's the dividend and he got 700 million dollars from that dividends. So he's doing fine with his wallet. Actually, the announcement of their earnings coupled with the dividend and the buyback increased, his individual net worth by 28 billion dollars in like one day if he's 10ks actually pointed out risk to stakeholders then you're right. The warning would be he could live which is bad for you. My second story of the week I have to do it. I hate to mention this guy but this was a big story in the beginning of the week. This is from The Wall Street Journal of all places. The headline is the money and drugs that tie Elon To some Tesla directors. I don't know how this is not a bigger story, but, but Elon Musk is officially in Donald Trump territory, where it doesn't matter how crazy he is, people just don't care anymore. Yeah, except that. I actually I don't know that I care about the drugs that tie them to talk. I don't care that you don't care about drug usage, corporate board that he's like making directors know if they're if they're at like fired immediately. sure, I guess my My problem would be like if they're doing drugs in their spare time and they're like personal lives. What do I care? But it's that drug culture was like a necessity. A prerequisite actually. That's the story on the board. Yeah. But to me like they focus on the like a lot on the drug usage that they're using drugs and that other companies, this is about looking. Someone gets fired. That's all that's the point. The third big story. Any other character would would just step down after being associated with us. Well, any other company would not have their brother. Oh, come on. We're already broken. This is someone who's done drugs with his brother, I guess. It's not that weird, right? I mean that's brother is hanging out there. The third big story. Just happened. Really yesterday. It Matt. We've been talking about this proxy contest at Disney Forever on the on the proxy countdown, but maybe it's game over proxy game over at Disney. Look at all this news to drop that Disney yesterday. First Disney, shares Notch their best day, and more than three years after a big earnings release. Yeah, the money rolling in, they invested in the number one, really like entertainment addiction of our lifetime and they invested into video games. A 1.5 billion dollar stake in epic games which makes the game for tonight. And then there was an announcement that no only is ESPN playing to launch its own streaming service in 2025. But the ESPN Fox and Warner Brothers, Discovery are going to launch a joint sports streaming platform this year. That's supposed to cost up to like 40 dollars. That's another big thing. Yeah money and Taylor Swift is bringing her errors tour movie to Disney plus exclusively and Yes, there's gonna be a sequel. I guess of one of their movies that actually does well Moana Milano. I don't know. What, Disney movies? I think they're terrible, but Matt knows about the Moana. But I think this game over for Nelson. Pelts is Mike. Yes. So that's the third big story of the week. no, no, no, no Nelson, palaces whole strategy was that Disney would become Like Netflix. Well, Netflix is going. No, is investing into video games. So there you go. It there was no strategy. I I think you'd probably, but whereas Blackwell's in this is Blackwell's never exist out first but no one ever talks about Blackwell's the fourth. Yeah, I have a question. They're investing in video games. Does that mean they want them to be accessible through their platform? I think that's so I think that's what the whole, but Netflix is as well. Yeah. And it's right. Is ESPN accessible through Disney plus right now. Know it. Well, it's, it's part of a bundle. These piano has his own. I I get myself service at Verizon, which actually pays for my ESPN Plus Hulu, Disney package for me. So, it's part of a package. I don't pay for our. Look it up. Figure it out. Do you remember know, back in the day? They used to. They used to have this thing. It was like a box. All right, on your television. I want an old table storage tablet. Yeah. Cool. Or whatever. It was just it had all the channels that you might want. I heard it cost a lot of money though. It was like 40 to 50 dollars a month at one. Well, they say that, this is this combination of ESPN Fox and Warner Brothers, Discovery doing a sports streaming platform. Will my actually be the final. Yeah, the joy, the final death of cable, I mean, of cable. Really? I think why else do people do more than likes Sports? The people. I actually think it's the death of streaming like because at this point subscription, you've got your 12 dollars HBO subscription, you get your 40 dollars Sports subscription, you know when you add them all up, it's the exact same that cable was only, that was bundled with your internet and have to time your phone too. It's bananas is not gonna have to worry about that because ESPN is very quietly becoming a central place for betting. So you're gonna that's just suck away. Everyone's life savings anywhere. In this horrible, new bedding world. We live in number four, big story of the week. This is a nod to us. I call this people don't matter. Here's a headline from the Harvard Crimson, the student newspaper at Harvard University, Kenneth Frazier, Joseph Bay to join Harvard Corporation ahead of presidential search. And the reason why I point this out and why this all matters is because that is the former Mercy, CEO, Ken Frazier, and the current co-ceo KKR, Joseph Bay. They are joining the board at Harvard. So this is why it all matters, people do matter. This is my point they do matter. No point. No, the fifth Story. That no one else seems angry about. But me, I am just like, over by this story, I can't believe this every time I look at this headline. Over 2%. Of the US is electricity Generation. Now goes to bitcoin. I mean think about it. I feel I feel this if this is not a better simple of our coming to I don't know what is but two percent is incredible 2% the Bitcoin, those are my five stories. All right, so the five stories are Zuckerberg could be dead. They're they're bored at Tesla does drugs together. No, come on stop. It's a bit more than that. It's a bit more than just doing drugs together. Yeah, it's more. It's way more. They're an insular group of Elon loving sycophants but it's more fun to say they do drugs, Disney wins, everything, and cannabis, Frazier, Joseph Bay. Join Harvard's Corporation for the presidential search in 2% of us. Electricity is for Bitcoin. We have a vote, I'll start off course. So we know I don't even say owned by the. Yes. Yes. Isn't one of the murdochs? Yes, exactly. That's why, that's surprising. Yeah. That is that there might be journalism happening. Yeah. Maybe he's letting it this one happen because oh that's an interesting take that this is all sort of backdoor, sanctioned by Murdoch himself to like out the board as people by which is the Dead one. No, no. The the way we're still alive. I know in my head, I mix up. Hunger, died succession. The show on HBO now is real life to me and I think he's actually dead. Sorry, it's a spoiler. If you haven't seen the show sorry but still alive. I realized you're right. Okay I'm gonna go with the Wall Street Journal. Oh yeah. Surprised by that one. Anybody else, Jesse Matt. Jesse should first stories. It was a right answer. Not really just he's not as we based on her face on her level of thinking. I am going to choose. Well, I'm between two. Okay, I'm gonna choose the, the Harvard one. Oh, yeah, people matter. It's important. And it related to us all the wrong answer. The answer is Tesla, the money, the drugs, why are you look, because That because the proxy match at Disney did that when he presented was always Kabuki theater. Zuckerberg could die at any moment, is sort of a joke in and of itself. Why, why is it a joke in itself? I don't understand. Well, mostly because like, like first of all, it's a legal compliance issue, right? Like he's doing extreme sports. So now they have to say, we have key man. Risk with Mark Zuckerberg, who owns the entire vote. What I was actually. Yeah. The real story is Mark. Zuckerberg is the correctly? That's the real all know that, right? That's why there's so important, right? Exactly. But but it's not like anything new like it's like that. They put that in a filing, they got it in filings already about how he's the key person. Just this time, he could be dead Bitcoin. Electricity usage has been a story for a while. The fact that Two so much attention. What I actually, what makes the, the Elon Musk Tesla board story. So, infuriating, is that prior to the story? We were told in no uncertain terms that 0, people cared about boards, zero people cared about who was running the company. The boards were pointless all the time. Like all of that stuff and every one of these stories on all the podcasts I listen to they've all flipped. Now they're all talking about the importance of boards and Independence on boards. What is independence? I heard a whole rant about like what independent board members are supposed to be. And it was like from the same person that was saying a month ago, when or two months ago, when Sam Altman, got outed that those directors were horrible for, you know, they were they to me that the fact that the narrative can shift that quickly when you break a story, that shows how bad it can go or how ridiculous it can be. That makes the story of the week to me, and sure. Answer Independence is not being a brother. Yeah, that that is a shortest sister which brings us to good list of the week. I also have Tesla for one of my headlines. Get ready. Mine are fast. Here we go. Tesla sold. Only one car is South Korea last month. I just love this headline. Was it suggesting? It's a Jesse and her husband. Um rude, Jesse and Rob bought, the only cars she got the Limited. Edition. It's a really nice one. Get in this episode. Even though it's only but we're only a month in, it's been a rough 2024 start for Tesla. There are there have been two different recalls. There's been a production pause at a factory in Germany. And it is the worst performing style, you know, what's even worse? You know, what's even worse? Are is that Toyota that no one's been fired know? It's at Toyota is starting to release EVS in the United States, so I like good luck with that test low. I thought they literally just released there was an article like within the past couple weeks saying that they're actually not going to double down on EV and continue to prioritize hybrid, I think there's still gonna read this morning that they just released like a three-row Eevee in the US. So whatever that means you know know what this would be a good time for for the CEO of Tesla to ask for 75 billion dollars in compensation because he thinks he needs some more influence. I think it just got clawed back pretty sure. Yeah. Well his Net game would be 25 billion if it gets clawed back, let's just change. All right, well I really like the headline, it's just test, let me read it again. Tesla sold only one Cars. Pretty shocking. Although, I mean, it is a good, it's a good. Sorry, I don't care that they pick South Korea. I don't care that South Korea has its own inflation problems. Going right now. It's a small country, whatever. This is our thought there was something to do with China too. On this one, right? Because there's something about the fact that these cars were manufactured in China, had a had an effect on the Korean consumers. Look at that, awesome headline. All right, okay, I don't know. All right, go ahead. All right, number two, cryptocurrency companies. But now report their energy used to the government, the Energy Information Administration. You what are we gonna do about it? Collecting info tomorrow. Yes, from my name, Because of concerns to the grid and let me guess what. Vanguard and block will just vote. Yes on everything anyway. So who cares? Wow, so Damien you're 2% thing, that's the electricity demand as the state of West Virginia oh get rid of Bitcoin. So how do we do that? Get rid of West Virginia know the worldwide electricity demand for mining. Facilities is the same as the country of Australia. Seriously. Wow that's a lot. Wow. All right, number three. McDonalds is promising attention to affordability after the price. 18 dollars stop. And this is why I picked this story. We want this to be affordable. Yeah, tell me. Customers have slammed, its on off dollar menu, it's dollar menu for not having a single dollar item, what? But that's not, why I picked it because According to report customers making less than 45,000 dollars, a year have stopped ordering from McDonald's, instead many have turned to home cooking. What? So, it's good that the price is high as we were saying, Yeah. Yes. Good. I think the price should remain. Yeah. It's like a tax on cigarettes. Exactly. Exactly. But I mean, it would make McDonald's richer which was one of my predictions. By the way, the McDonald's can do real well, but it's good. Well, really well from different set of people. It's middle class people that can't afford to go out anymore because those prices, that's true, too. Actually, so they go to McDonald's. I don't know what it's like around you. You guys in Hartford, but I will tell you the one fast food restaurant. Well, Chick-fil-A. Other than that, that seems to always have a massive line is McDonald's. They don't. Yeah. It's just like, amazing. I don't understand it. And you're right, the prices are actually really expensive. I do think contrast this to the fact that wasn't it. Chris kimchi, isn't he? The CEO of McDonald's? Yes. On an earnings call. I think last quarter, he was like reveling in the fact that there might be a recession that people during a recession. They do really well. He was very excited, I guess. However, the prices aren't inflation reads please, this is pure green. That's the amazing part inflation is under control. This is pure greed, but when I read that last year, Matt, I thought he meant he was going to do well from, you know, Their typical customer base, which is people making 45,000 dollars and less but no now they're making more money from people. That are not, you know poor. Yeah. The thing is we're less. We have such an incredibly disheartening credit card debt problem in our country. That that's probably where the money. That's probably how they're affording it, right? They're putting on their credit Institute buy now pay. Oh really quick. New Hampshire rejects. Republican bill, criminalizing ESG, investing highlighting ongoing debate over social responsible Investments. So we Reported on this. What? The know. I don't that the bill was up for a vote and I told you guys this isn't going to come, you're in. This is gonna get rejected. You guys like but it's New Hampshire. We don't. Well, the actually gonna pass somewhere. I it probably got made fun of so much that it ended up like, because we made fun of us. They changed the market, we made it not possible. So those are your four options. Tesla only sold one. Car crypto has to report their energy. Used to the government McDonald's, Big Mac, hit 18 dollars, making it unattainable for a lot of people and New Hampshire, rejects Bill, criminalizing ESG, and busting. Wow. These this is like the cynically of the week. It's hard for me to jail. Murray has full control of the headlines. She gets very cynical. I mean, Jesse, do you have a vote? Yeah, I'm voting McDonald's at 18. Wait, so yeah, you're voting for your your happy. It's expensive. The heck, the headline is misleading. I'm just gonna say McDonald's. Big Mac. It's 18 and turns people away to home cooking. I don't, that's my I haven't seen anecdotal evidence of that. Also, the I know that the food companies are, they're like, now you have a lot of people eating at McDonald's that you would see in a total. I just see that the drive through is constantly packed it just, and there's two lanes, and its kind of cars are exactly. Look at the cars, the what the only thing here that actually makes me feel good, I guess, which is the New Hampshire rejects, this horrible. Bill criminalizing, he I mean, I don't really have a strong feeling though, Matt. I Am I'm gonna put arena in a position to make a choice. The by far, the best headline is Tesla. Sold only one car in South Korea last month. Yeah, that's a great headline headline. That's true written by far. That's the winner. Come on you guys exactly. We talk about Tesla all the time. Tesla only sold one car. Yeah, North Korea. They sold 1.4 cars. I don't care if they only sold one car in Hartford last month, you know, that's not good news. All right, I know. All right, moving on. Yeah. Do we have to do this one? Maybe we should skip well, actually. We're feeling good. Let's skip them. It's your first option is I don't really think about boards before I invest because I saw this story behind credit, suisse's fall, a Chairman's lasting mark on the culture. So the chairman of credit suisse's URS roner, yeah, who nobody knew who he was for us because he cares about boards except for us was apparently the this article covered the culture that URS roner basically. So in Europe, drugs, important, There were not drugs involved but it's important to at least not in the story. It's important to remember in Europe that the chair position. It's very different, the CEOs, not on the board most of the time. So the chair position is actually hugely influential. It's a big deal. They often are sort of shadow running the company. They're basically the figureheads of the company. Unlike here where the boards are supposed to supposed to hire and fire management. Oversee the you know, management the management, That's funny. Fake laugh makes me laugh. Management's on the board. There, they have an entire separate supervisory board that actually does oversee management. So, URS roner being the chair was really powerful. He apparently undermined every piece of risk management. They tried to do a wonderful push for more aggression. Despite the micromanaging and the collapse of credit Suite, which is now a subsidiary of UBS URS is also on the board of so Smith Kline right after Credit Suisse fail, there was a vote at glaxo Smith Kline to re-elect directors. He was re-elected at a 91% rate. Yeah this is another thing. They know that he was just associated with creditors. What kind of this is like another troubling part of this industry that we don't talk about enough. Right? Is that like you? I mean we joke about, you know, how you can fail up constantly, although, you know, kudos to the people that we work. Now, for not letting Adam Neumann buy back, the company that does seem but you're right. Like, you can you can fail miserably at some companies and then get voted in other companies. We used to at msci, we had a term for that, right? What was that called? Like flag director's or Something like that. Yeah, it would be a flag, director was a director at some kind of oversaw a bankruptcy or a horrible, horrible event where like a restated everything or like and then went on to have a illustrious career making millions of dollars on board. Somehow, how about Harvard the board at Harvard? Which is now appointing the for a former director at Exxon Mobil? And if a farmer company and it's like, come on. What do you do? And like yeah, pay attention of these people. Yeah, go ahead and the other story and as and I don't think about boards before I invest is the Elon Musk test Tesla director story, but we don't need to believe her. That number two option. Yeah. And this is asshole of the week and these are friends of the show. But come on Arjuna Capital, agree with this. Go ahead. I don't agree with, you know, calm down everybody just calm down your victim, your victim blaming. I'm not victim, blaming the story goes like this. If you haven't been paying attention, Exxon sued, at shareholders Arjuna capital, and there was another follow this and advocacy group because they put forward in ESG proposal to accelerate the low carbon transition. They wanted a report on how they were going to accelerate the low carbon transition Exxon sued them. And here was the ask it was quote, shareholder support. The company buying advisory vote to go beyond current plans further accelerating the pace of a missions, reductions in the medium term for its greenhouse gas emissions and summarized new plans Targets in time tables, that was the ask. Now, this is in an era where we have the national public policy Center sitting on vote's that are we think you're discriminating against white men and pre-born babies? Like they, they're actually doing shoulder proposals about that. Exxon, instead of going to the SEC saying exclude, this decided, the normal path example. Yeah, which we've never heard of before, right? I don't, I don't, we've never heard it before. And then after the lawsuit gets filed, the lawsuit asks for Arjuna capital and follow this basically to have it off of the shareholder ballot. That's that all the lawsuit asks Arjuna Capital follow this. Pull Exxon climate proposal. After lawsuit, they pulled the proposal. Yeah. Which makes sense, which, we're not surprised about. Why, why are you proposal that this could bankrupt their entire company fighting on? There is, I mean, what are you doing? No way it will bankrupt them because they could go to a million different orgs. I'm sure they're investors. They could raise that. This is the, the lawsuit in itself is a bully tactic? Yeah. Why letting themselves be bullied? This is the problem if you letting himself, how are you so much? Oh, you're so Joe Rogan today. Disappointed, I like you letting themselves be bullied. Stop it. This is an opportunity with you to stand up and say we're not going to be bullied by doing. What is our, what you been growing? Their legal team? I well with all of the money that I'm free float. Has I'm bankrolling it. Currently. What's follow this doing? What are they? Pulled out to? Let me go. Let me get this clear though. Your asshole here is not axon Mobil. It's Arjuna Capital. That's right. That's right. I'm doing what Exxon does that stop? That's a terrible way. This is a new level for you know you should be mad at be mad at the engine one director on the board of Exxon Mobil. They should at least release a statement saying that we didn't we're not agreeing with this bullshit. This board is, is aggressive, horrible tactic. We don't agree with except that. That brings me to my number three asshole a week, which is investors who voted for the board of exercise. Now we're talking suing investor that they don't like now you're talking. I mean come on these investors approve the board members who are currently suing other investors because they don't like what they're asking for. The actually from the lawsuit, it says, this quote, this sweeping intrusion into exxonmobil's ordinary business. Operation is designed to substitute defendants preferences for the Judgment of Exxon, mobil's management and board and determining how best operate the company and efficient and environmentally conscious way. They actually say that this is a board decision. This this goes against the board. The board mind you is full of quote. Unquote environmentalists including kaisa Hai, tala added by engine number one. Greg Goff who's an oil man who was never an environmentalist, but was big oils. One by Big Oil. One Alex, karsner added by engine. Number one, Jeff oven who is an environmentally friendly investor. He's actually famously environmentally friendly. He's a big low carbon investor and Susan Avery who works at the Woods Hole oceanographic Institute. Sorry Susan. She's on the board. I just named five people on this board who are supposed to be environmentalists out of like a 13-person board. That's nearly half the board you're supposed to be. Environmentally focused. I want to know the Supreme Court has a big decision. They can the centers are allowed to release a dissenting opinion, right? Why can't the if there are dissenters on the XI mobile board for this horrible loss. So why can't you release a statement? I, I don't know but but here's a group, think people doesn't have to be groupthink. Here's a ridiculous set of polls that I did for every board member that they added to prove how environmentally friendly Green Washi Exxon has been with their investors in March of 1st 2021, they add Jeffrey oven and Michael angelakis to the board. They released a statement, every time you had a board member, we released a statement and it said, quote, their contributions will be valued as Exxon. Mobil advances, plans to increase shareholder value by responsibly providing needed energy. While playing a leadership role in the energy transition. Okay. for second 2022, they add Larry Kelner, who's the chair of the Boeing board they add him to the Exxon board because he's proven himself to be really excellent board member as a chairman And they they say this, we welcome both Larry and John. Oh yeah they added John, what's his name? John. Harris to the Exxon board as the company executes. Its strategy to grow shareholder value. By Leading a thoughtful transition to a lower emissions future while providing the reliable energy and products the world needs. Well, this was all back in the time when it was okay to say these things. November 7th 2023. They just added Dean up Powell, who's that, an ex Trumper to the board. Quote, we welcome Dina to the ExxonMobil board as a company executes. Its strategy to grow shareholder value by playing a critical role in the lower emissions future. Even as we continue to provide the reliable energy and products the world needs, it is copy-pasted every single year so saying that I'm surprised they're actually still greenwashing and it's so good. Every time they make these announcements that investors lowest vote for was for Joseph. Who lead the man writing these on me as the chair of the board. He had a 91% vote for the average, otherwise is 97% for the board. This is insane. This is why are you voting for people that would actively sue you if you ask them to do something, you didn't like because I don't because they're focus on one thing and one thing only that shareholder value. That's it. End of story. So those are those are your three options. Um, the board not caring about boards at Credit, Suisse and Tesla Arjuna. Pulling out with follow this. And the investors who voted four exons board, who's suing investors, I'm gonna go, come on, I'm shocked. I feel like number three. Still falls under. I don't really think about boards before I invest. It's true. It does. So, I'm gonna go with. I don't really think about boards before I. That's it's almost wait. What? You're going? Which one are you going with? She's going on. Oh, okay, then I probably shouldn't go second. Oh, you know what? I'll make it interesting that was gonna be my vote, but but I think number three is actually pretty similar. Number one. Yeah, that's, that's caring. Basically voted for one and three. Oh, she bought it for both. You can't do that. I'm gonna vote for number three. That's my vote. Jesse, you want to break the tire, or do you want to hand it back to Matt? to break the Tie you can't you alone on that island. I don't change it too. Matt being the jerk for putting my dog. To what? Like that do something. They're apologize for being victimized, you want them to make an apology or are they actually said Natasha lamb who they do great work, they file a lot of great share yet. There's all the week and but I don't understand why like they pull out of this, right? Like every one of their proposals is like sued by lamb. They issued a statement saying that like they were concerned that this would silence investor voices. Its silence them, right right now. Literally they just silence themselves, they pulled themselves out and they're still getting shoes. Did they say anything? If you know, you're still getting sued, why do you pull it? My vote is investors voting for The Board of Exxon. Oh, okay. Oh, that is always a popular. I feel like every week, you have roller coaster, you have a. I feel like you always have an entry about you investors of a certain Equity being the ass hole. So I'm thinking it's popular for this show, it is popular. I mean, I can't wrap my brain around, it doesn't matter how many times I see it. Every time I see, 90, six percent of people agree on something like can you think in your life if you got a 50 of your friends together know that 96% of them will do agree on one thing that's because they're not individually voting and I don't have 50 friends. Okay, I'm bringing back the misery. A topic that I feel like I haven't talked about in a while even though it's consistently exhausting climate change. Here's the headline news, say no more. Yeah, just Bleak you guys. New study says, the world blew past one and a half degrees of warming four years ago that's Celsius. This is selfie. Yes, this is that our Target, right? Like, limiting global warming to one and a half to Greece when that the target sense, at least 2015, the Paris agreement. Well, in one way pulled us out of the climate is that bad one and a half then? Wow, could be well Celsius. this peer reviewed study released in the journal Nature, climate change suggests that we passed this back in 2020, which means we're decades behind predictions. So, That's great. Okay, that's more distressing than exhausting. The cool thing here. There is a cool thing. There is a cool thing about how they figured this out. Is that they studied, he just like a sponge retains water. Are they died? Yeah. I they're dying fast. What? Anyone notice of a sea sponge died? Yeah, somebody's studying sponges it took them four years to notice. That's true. There's your answer. All right. Next up. Then then we can follow that depressing thing up with this headline. Duke Energy seeks to delay. Its 20 30, clym at Target in North Carolina. How can you seek to delay, 30? That's an aggressive Target 2030. Yeah. Yeah but they it was all just deploy obviously. So they're facing massive projected increase in electricity demand. There's like a few projects going on in this air conditioning a Bitcoin. Yeah, exactly. So they proposed, what Advocates called tripling down on new gas plants, which obviously, scraps, or undermines their 2030 deadline to significantly curb carbon pollution. I'm surprised that they didn't take the normal 2015 route for this bullshit prediction. I'm I give them credit for, for being bold. How credit, if they're not, I am surprising even made an announcement. I assume they made an announcement about it and that's how we know, right? They didn't just quietly knife. Yeah, but are it's not cool again to like, turn your back on climate pledges, right? Like just Okay. Moving on. Okay, well, I will say this. Yeah, go just for the just for the record please. Um, Duke Energy is LIN good. She's yeah. And she isn't that a Boeing person? She's a Boeing person. That's correct. Right. So all our problems does seem like all of our problems come from like one company. Well, that was a great. I will say that do Duke Energy unusually for my recollection is very has a very strong female power Gap, right? I looked Although the utilities do is a Utilities Company. Yeah, there you utilities are very strong female leadership. We've discovered Go ahead. Go ahead. Jessie. Okay, moving on. This should stir up some feeling, Southwest Airline can soon cram more customers on board with thinner. For me. Wait, just wait till you read what these seats were described as they unveiled redesigned cabin. And while they have a clean modern look, these seats, there is an irony board. Has anyone ever heard of an ironing board? Yeah. Wow. That's thin. You imagine sitting on an iron you know what, I actually think this could have been good list of the week why most people who wants to fly in that we don't need the reception. We're not gonna stop clients propose Matt we don't need that. Kids are gonna be cheaper and more people are gonna. Yeah Boeing doesn't bolt its own doors. You think you're gonna like that? Hasn't stopped people from flying. Well, here I have a business idea. Oh well, I like this so iron ironing board thin. We create little instead of packing cubes that go into your suitcase like packing cubes to fit the seat. Oh, you can sit on like a bleach and see far all over your stuff. You know, you don't have to check it. I already do that. I already do that because you know those stupid I just sell those like stupid neck pills. That really don't do anything. I end up and invariable. I end up sitting on them because the seats are already uncomfortable. Like a toilet seat, I do and I love like the state every half hour. He switches it to his neck. I want to help the record does nothing. But Ari, is an engineer who worked on airplane parts that was her great idea. I'm so glad that you're doing corporate governance work. Now, I think I'm gonna pursue this as a side hustle. Yeah. Anyway. So anyways, this is the precedent that is being so much more airlines are going to continue to push for thinner and lighter seats to generate as much revenue. As why would you fly Southwest Airlines? Anyway, who wants to go to Dallas? Stop Airlines. Continue to exhaust Style. Huh. Wow. All right so your options are the world blue pass? 1.5 degrees, which is not exhausting. It's really exhaust. You oh, I think we're way past exhausted. Duke, Energy, seeks to delay 2020 Target and Southwest Airlines can cram more customers on board with thinner, seats, I go first, I know the answer, Is creative ways of cramming more people. That is like come on. I just changed. That is just I'm just dead about it dead inside of it. Damien you have a vote. I mean, that was going to be my vote. So let me see if I can make this interesting Duke Energy. Now it's my vote to. I just Clean Sweep here. There's no way anything like and and give us a break find us a break. I mean it's already horrible on airlines it's not she get on the plane without chart being charged an extra 20 bucks for something. Yeah for like for curing like lipstick on, it's an extra 20 dollars every lip balm you bring on its 10 bucks. So like and now they're making you sit on ironing boards next to a 400 pound midwesterner heading out of Chicago. Like everything about it. Seems terrible to be carving. Those seats better be like made out of carpet or something carbon taxes. They're gonna, they're gonna break. I was like this. It's a Boeing plane and part of the like, playing actually pops off mid-flight. Those are so light. Oh, they might be good for floating in the ocean, though. They're probably better. Okay, who won the week? I'll go first to mine's fast. Go first, Disney, beautiful? Baba, the Bob is back, or did I copy, you know? Yours was their first night. Okay, what about copy? Anyone was one of my stories, just beautiful. Bob he's back, Bob's back. B squared. All right. Well, I said Disney, because Bob Iger said on one side during the earnings, call that Taylor Swift's concert film will start streaming in March. It's Taylor Swift. Well, no, no, it's because they won that bidding war and I it's definitely gonna pay off. Come on here. I'm not gonna watch it. Just you have you? Yeah, I chose Reddit because hear me out. A lot of this is like a new thing this year. I don't know. Maybe happened last year but people are already releasing their Super Bowl. I do that. So many of them have been bashed because they're absolutely awful. Reddit had a quick five-second, Super Bowl ad hasn't been bash people. I love it. It's connecting with people. It's literally just the logo, like that sounds really cool. I, that might be better than my winner. My winner is Tim Cook because as Elon Musk has 56 billion dollar pay package, clawed back by Delaware, judge in a 200-page decision. That talked about incompetent, his board was, wow, Tim Cook one, his lawsuit that investors brought about his Paypal package, that was a paltry 90 million, something like nothing. And now that's 90 million. Like five years ago, I would have been like, what is this? An insane amount of money, but now it's nothing. But I really want to know, is what are they gonna say when they realize that one of the founders of Reddit gave up his board seat to a black woman? That sounds very woke, Jesse. Oh yeah, that is woke. All right predictions. I'll start off with prediction. We have two predictions. Yeah, I predict sorry he's making one. Oh I should go like go ahead. Netflix well have channel on cable know, just play you something. Oh and like they'll pick. They'll pick a show and every day at, you know, 7 p.m. they'll play the next episode of why so that they cannot get a subscriber. Well, I don't understand what could not just a tease people into subscribing because that's weird fiction, but you're good gonna label it as purple. Drop his proxy contest because I mean, he's lost and but he will take full credit for everything that Disney has ever done, and that is included including giving birth to company founder Walt Disney. This beautiful womb came Disney Corporation. Thank you. No doubt that that prediction will come true which leads me to my prediction, which is that, despite all of the press and everything you've read in the last six months that Kimball musk will somehow find his way to win. Realizing on the next day of this year, I believe this is the moment this is the right. This is the moment of all shareholder votes ever. If he wins just see the money whisper and are you the data queen? I am your analyst Carey, we are free float. Come back next week where we'll have more shows Monday Wednesday, Friday. We have a if you didn't catch the proxy countdown from yesterday, we did dear and company and we actually didn't say directors. Our recommendations seriously here, go listen to that. Otherwise we'll see you next week until then goodbye.
