It's say it Friday. He's gonna read Arias. Copy we are live and alive. That's right. This is already the data Queen joined by analysts Hall, Matt mascardi. Jesse the money whisper and hazelnut Ross. You're like wow, you're like Ron Burgundy, you can only read live adjust. On today's weekly wrap up Elon Musk. Zuckerberg. I'm sorry. All right. Aries in Peru. I'm gonna take over for her this week. You ready? Did you do an excellent job? Let's do this. I assume other people gonna cover this story. I will be brief and succinct. Succinct, even succinct something. Channeling. Ari, she messes up that word. Judge voids Elon musk's unfathomable. 56 billion dollar Tesla, PayPal package. That is right. That did happen. A story. Wow. I probably should stop. I probably just stop there. I mean, I know it's gonna get all the votes, but I have two others. Mark Zuckerberg to families of exploited kids. I'm sorry for everything. You've been through everything. In a congress. Yeah, another time that the CEOs of tech companies and social media companies have been trotted out in front of the Senate and Congress. But here's the, here's a few other things happening at met at the very same time. Ready? This is after he stood up, I'm sure in an unrehearsed Manner and apologized to this family. Know, did you watch it? No, he had to be cajoled. He stand up, get know. He, he was told by Senator. What do you have to say? Do you want to say sorry to them? Do you want to say something in the parents are here? What do you want to say that? Really, he wasn't going to do this. So, here's what else is going on at the same time? Well, while apologizing for everything, you've been through meta his company and I do mean his company. Okay, one guy meta reports profits, more than tripled Right? And IT issues. Its first dividend and Mark, Zuckerberg himself will get 700 million dollars. A year from that, from those dividends and again, and he is handing out 50 billion dollars to shareholders in this dividend. And this is while all while his company cannot figure out how to get these to solve these child, safety concerns, he's spending. He's giving the money to his shareholders instead of making operations better to solve these. I'm pretty sure that this was a coordinated effort, like, you go to Congress and you say we have a child sexual exploitation problem on our platform. Oh, and PS. Here's 50 billion dollars. Now. Complain, And the third story that we could kind of a free floaty story. I haven't seen a poll like this from before, so I had to report on it. This is from Fortune. This the headline is Elon Musk and Bob Iger, I should have asked you guys. This is a quiz but I blow it top. The list of America's most overrated, CEO as ranked by their peers. Oh, like in the NFL, yeah, this is not. These are not blowhards like us. These are actual peers, Elon winning with 399 votes and I think really not a big surprise to me. Bob Iger coming in the second at 302 votes, but here's the question, I'll ask you to who do their, who do peers you know, CEO peers, who do they think is the most underrated CEO? I mean, I would have guessed A woman. For sure, I'm gonna give you a hint. This is part of one of our theories. One of our CEO theories. It's not gonna be Howard Schultz no longer CEO. So no, I, I don't, I don't know who it's part of our our Southwest Asian CEO theory about having them hide, you know, you point them so they can hide. answer is Microsoft CEO in Adela, oh, Underrated. Sea rated. Because no one talks about him. It's a trillion dollar tree, we talk about him, but America does not know his name. I guarantee they will say, the CEO of Microsoft is Bill Gates. I guarantee you. That's, they might actually, they might. Yeah. Okay. So, three stores. This one, I almost threw it into good list, but then I heard you guys in my head being like, okay, well, whatever they're not gonna do any, No One's Gonna do anything about it. No, I love surprised. You picked it. I like this way because it's, like an NFL like a sport. Like, this is like, the whole Fame ring. It's like, you're asking your peers, like, who's overrated, who's underrated? That's such a sports, everybody. Just vote for themselves as underrated besides, or maybe including these two. I don't think you're allowed to vote for yourself. Well, is this share based voting? Is it doing question only? Unfortunately, Fortune Magazine gives you everything about everything that you don't want to know and they but they don't publish this list. Anywhere. I couldn't find the actual polling. This underrated overrated. I couldn't find like who voted who they asked, it doesn't exist. It's like, anyway, those are my three stories, seven, guys, named Gus. I know you're gonna vote for but go ahead if you want to vote, all right, first obviously judge voids, Elon Musk. Yeah. That's the whole thing. That's the only one. Let's just move on. I, I did. Let's move on. I actually did pick quickly four stories for Ari this week. Oh, let's, let's hear some good lists. We're gonna move fast and I'm gonna have to go past an honor of Ari. The in honor of our the last story is cynical. I picked a cynical one that I thought she would giggle at, okay? Of course. Of course the good list of the week the first one was is Judge voids. Elon musk's unfathomable 6 billion dollar Tesla pay package. Okay? That's the first one. Second one in the world of AI good news for monkeys startup say new technology could help and animal testing by farmer companies. Oh that makes sense. Right, Peter. Oh if you read the article, this is from the ft is it sounds like the the real reason why it may and animal testing is because the price of monkeys has skyrocketed 50,000 dollars like since the pandemic. So I think this is the real reason. They're going to use AI. Not to save the Monkees. I didn't actually think about the price of, like, I actually, that's fascinating to me. I'm surprised, you know, they we don't price more things like, You thought they just go to Sri Lanka and a van and with a big net and just like, yeah, grab them. I just Do a lot of rabbits, they do a lot of rabbits. Well, because As monks, emul. Us better, okay, percent human. So, yeah, of course, they test on rabbits. Rabbits, nice rats. Depressed. Okay. Thirdly, a story of the week, the headlines, kind of better than the details, but I like the headline American beef industry hits record low according to the USA, this but I was excited. This is probably my least favorite industry, but I will say that the details are not not a celebratory Nationwide beef, cattle inventory dropped to 28.2 million this year. Well it's the lowest level since the 1970s it's only down two percent. So I don't know. I mean and part and part of the reason are these gonna help climate change? Well, you know what part of the reason why is not because Americans are eating less beef. It's because of these incredibly drastic and record. Drought Going on in cattle country. So yeah, so maybe not so good. And finally, the fourth grade is story that we can honor of Ari. Woke free beer, Venture in Georgia, called ultra-right beer, earns F rating with the Better Business Bureau. I guess they're, they're taking a lot of orders, but they're not actually selling the beer. They're not actually giving customers. Oh, there's the beer that costs like 30 dollars for six pack, or something like that. Yeah, here's how it gets to you. I have one anecdote from a customer who plays an order in September for a limited edition conservative. Dad's Revenge, six pack. I mean, why does it conservative dad even need Revenge? I mean, yes, so that's a six-pack with Donald Trump's mugshot on the label, but it's still not received the beer. The quote from the customer is it's so damn frustrating that nobody responds to you and they're supposed to be a business that's not a business. But isn't that kind of a A woke attitude about ESG attitude. What's going on here for governance and customer service free company? They don't have to do anything. This is they don't like the definition of woke freeze, no regulation, no oversight, let them take your money and Rob you, I mean, come on. I love that. That might be, I don't know about the F rating on the Better Business Bureau, which does anybody care about the BBB anywhere on Earth at all? But that's a great story Jessie. So we got musk's payback package rescinded monkeys, get good news. The bad news is that they're only worth 50,000 bucks, but like, you can, you can buy an electric vehicle, still electric vehicle cost more than a monkey. The electric vehicle gets recalled every week, Tesla's recalling all its Vehicles again this week oh really safety issue? Yeah. Oh but I don't think the monkeys get recalled. Did they Remember the door plugs and the test? They just killed sometimes by the time. Well, Jesse, I hate to I don't, I hate to admit this in front of the audience, but you you have a Tesla. There are no, there are no dealerships. What is it called? What does it mean? When it gets recalled? If there are no dealerships, what do you do with the car? They just probably do a software update. So what is that another recall? What does that mean? Then don't don't drive it until you update. Our know if my crappy software, I don't know. No, I think it's all of them. Don't worry. I have the Hyundai today. Yeah that's right. I'm sorry. Keep wrapping up the beef industry hits of record like high low like 28.2 million not too percent having another except and then woke free beer. They're actually like congratulations to them. For being woke free, we do woke free beer, you buy the beer, we don't send, you know, Trump. It does work sometimes, doesn't it work? Um, Jesse. What's your vote? Obviously Elon. I really I don't want to do Elon Musk here. I want to do woke free beer. Oh, I love that. It's, it is what it says it is right? Like it's like you go to see The Elephant, Man. The Elephant Man. Looks exactly like you'd expect the Elephant Man to look like woke free. Beer is exactly as advertised. It is. I mean I know, right? I know you're right and I think Ari would agree with you. But the real the best but see that doesn't. And it doesn't, you know, I want to vote for Elon Musk but it's not gonna affect him at all. He's gonna move to Texas. They're gonna heal like and they'll probably they'll, they'll recreate another payback package. It's even worse. Probably. I'm sure actually. Somehow, like the fire, the judge know who had no like that. Yeah, I like I really think it is a huge story, but I actually don't think it's good because I think it coalesces like, oh, it's good. He's a might be true. Well, in honor of Ari, I will agree with you and pick the cynical. One woke free beer. I know Ari would love this story. I know it. Yes, she would. What? We are making record time. Yeah, they show. Let's go on to Hey, we're all right. Slow us down. Matt. I want, I don't have that much today. I got. Three options and they're all basically headline options. The first one is deep fake governance. It's deeply weak. It was a lot of stories that just made me think everything's a big fraud. Everything I was gonna pick your first, I was gonna pick this story. I'm glad you're covering it. Um, the it what launching deep fake governance week was, Stuart Kirk who used to be the head of responsible investing, whatever those sponsible investing at HSBC purposely, vague dependent up, Ed called. We are all Hypocrites on corporate governance which got sent to me a dozen times. And when I just read the headline I was like it's true. We are all Hypocrites on on corporate governance. Nobody's actually doing it. And that's a horrible thing. We should they say they're doing it, but they don't do it. They don't vote out directors like, you know, the engagement teams, that's what he. But what he was saying, was that, because we say, we do governance and we only care about the money Where Hypocrites for, even doing it at all. We should just not do it. It's pointless. We don't need it. He basically tried to lay out a case about how pointless it was. In with no irony because just this week, here's four stories. I'm just gonna rip through the headlines. Tesla shareholders, only Tesla shareholders can clean up. Musk's compensation mask, Bernard are no names, two more Sons, more Sons to the Elvia board, and these sites that yeah, who has more Hammer Elon? Yeah, he cites that Stuart, Kirk actually mentions that in his in his write-up too. And I think Bernardino has lessons in Elon his point. His point being, who cares at the company makes a lot of money. Yeah, he Stuart, Kirk's Point, Norfolk, Southern books, 150 million dollar charge for Ohio incident stock drops after Prophet Falls below forecasts, WWE founder of Vince McMahon resigns from TKO Group after being accused of sexual assault and trafficking in new lawsuit. Well, that's this week. I would suggest that you left out. Maybe the biggest one is that we're first to deal with this, this dictator meta, right? Who is apologizing to families for everything that you've been through to exploited children because there's no over. At his company. Don't worry. That comes in my next asshole. Okay, just but at my point. Yeah, why would governance be necessary at a place that is exploiting children. Could you literally make a worse op-ed case for why governance doesn't matter as we should only care about money in the same week that we can pull a half dozen headlines, all about governance and how it failed and I got more of it. So number one, option is deep fake. Governance and Stuart Kirk, Stuart Kirk was asshole the week two years ago when he was at HSBC. And he had that rant about climate change. I think you were here for that, Jesse, but he went up at a conference and gave a whole talk about how ESG was basically a big con, and climate change was for shrill. You know what, I remember, he's like, I'm not gonna listen to the shrill as voice in the room. He wasn't. in on climate change, he was the head of their ESG responsible number two option, deep fakes safety, Here's the headline. Are you waiting for Applause there? No, because I can control the house Boeing with drawers. The safety exemption requests for one of its 737. Max Jets, as the company, faces mounting pressure. So why did is a safety? I know, right. We were trying to figure this out yesterday. Damien, I spent like half an hour yesterday trying to figure out what the hell is this headline about Bowing in order to Fast Track getting its the seventh a different 737 Max 7? Yeah. Yes. Yeah. Into like to deliveries was asking the FAA for an exemption, a safety exemption, so that they would do their own safety check, and they could fast-track delivery. That's crazy. Bird party doing a safety. Check. That I don't even know what the regular process. How was this even a possible mechanism for delivery? I don't understand this at all. I don't understand how there is a safety exemption? You can request right? Like like that. Well, that's higher would be like, oh cool. We got this plane that had that bypassed all of the safety measures great. We're gonna put in the air with our customers on it. I mean, but say they do the safety. Thing. They just don't tell they like do it internally and don't have to tell the FAA about it or something, doesn't this, doesn't this? This like direct evidence of blowback from your research on network power, right? Because it's only a man who has such a crazy amount of Network Power that would have the audacity to ask other people in power to let him bypass safety protocols for airplanes airplanes because it's because he has a lot of friends. Right? Meanwhile, and headline. Number two, Boeing suspended, its Financial guidance and said it's focused solely on comprehensive actions to improve the quality of its planes. So in the same week that they're like, we find out, they were asking for a safety exemption. They're now not telling investors how much money they think they're going to make or lose next year because they're so focused on safety. That's what they're focused on and Alaska, CEO, Alaska, Airlines CEO said, they found many quote, many, Loose bolts on Boeing 737. Max 9 Plains, many good. So I mean, And then I have a bonus safety option here which is Zuckerberg announces 50 billion dollar payout for Medi-Share holders. Amid child. Safety concerns We basically have seeded all safety to companies themselves. We do in fact, Trump tried to gut the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. We are currently in the active. The Supreme Courts are about to take up the chevron case which will determine whether or not basically Regulators. Can regulate anything they have the right to regulate anything specifically the EPA but rolling back every element of safety and this is what you get. I don't know why we're surprised. When you give unfettered power to the corporations to make safety decisions. You have Zuckerberg apologizing for everything that's ever been done. And Alaska. Airlines finding many loose bolts on planes and planes falling. You know, half parts of planes, flying off the plane, in the air. And can I just talk about David Cullen for one second? CEO Boeing. He's talking just for more than one second. This is how crazy the corporate governance world is when I come to these big. CEOs, is it over the last three years? He's basically somehow managed to make the exact same amount of money every year. Suggesting that nothing ever changes a Boeing, right? He made 21.1 million dollars in 2020 21.1 million dollars and 2021 and 22.5 million dollars in 2022. Right? Despite the fact that in 2020, he see received no option Awards and didn't have an annual bonus, they still managed to figure out how to get him. The same pay every year, no matter what the app happens at that company like there. I'm sorry. But it is astounding to me, that nothing matters in this world. I mean, and that's in Stuart Kirk is right. Like, well, that's ending to care about corporate governance. That's the big down. How can you work? A multinational, conglomerate, aircraft Builder and everything is the same every year that you make the same money, like nothing changes. Well they they're like, Five years behind on deliveries, they haven't done anything, but doesn't matter when it doesn't seem no matter because we don't vote out exactly the same, no one gets voted out. No one gets voted out. No, nothing changes voted against pay, but it's not binding. Like, like, literally, there is no effort. So sounding and your final option. Here is deep, fake billionaires. And this is because I thought about making, you know, the pay package for Elon Musk the asshole the week, but really actually, This headline felt like the way bigger like Elon Musk is a billionaire 200 times over because for for effectively you know we would like to tell the narrative that he he's a genius, right? He started a company, he sold for, you know, tens of millions, hundreds of millions of dollars. He's, he has been very successful but Tesla was not his company. In fact, he joined his CEO, he took over the company after they had already made the Roadster and sold 200,000 of them. SpaceX was entirely subsidized by the US government. Starlink subsidized neuralink, got a government grants. He's a billionaire because investors have been willing to turn the wrong. Turn the other way about everything that he died. He was another mention that he that his purchase of Twitter has been a financial failure, which is the one thing that he's purchased and not had any government support doing. But there's no effect. It has no real effect on him. Yeah. Well, it will no government support but lots of support from Banks and you know, other other investors but I will say do it alone. Um, between investors not caring about Elon, musk's sort of proclivities and musk leveraging a system so that he can take advantage of as many. He's an excellent fundraiser and sure he's got Vision but he takes as many like shortcuts as he can along the way. This headline, summed up what I think is the reason why you Elon Musk can stay a billionaire, Tesla CEO. Elon Musk says, protectionism is the only thing stopping China's cheap EVS, from demolishing, the competition, think about that. He's effectively saying what we do is a business, I would not be a billionaire. If it was an actual free market. If you buy a car from China, they make cheap EVS by ID has been making them for years and years and years. It was even one a buffet in munger's favorite companies. Oh, it's still is Right, Buffet heavily invested, by Billy invested, by D, for good reason. This sounds like and the only thing that's keeping people from buying Teslas EVS here and forcing them to buy expensive. Tesla's is the fact that the US government has decided we won't take EVS from China. That's that's like like it's basically interceding on a billionaires behalf to keep him a billionaire is crazy. Only thing that that accomplishes I will say I'm yeah not allowed, they're not allowed to be imported here. It's why you can't get one. And they're and they're good and cheap, right? I mean as Buffett I mean, Buffett seems to know what he's doing know, isn't that it's not the general idea of Buffett. The, the cars are made cheaper, they're they're they're smaller, they're more efficient. They're they're designed to be like, you know, commuter well, these like they're not going to compete with the luxury TV, right? Like. But it's like well, right? They would they would probably dominate like the Japanese car market dominated in the 70. Exactly. That's exactly why they're blocking them. Can I just say, I'm happy you you landed on that because it's the I've been seeing this a lot this week about a protectionism. This is the thing that takes me most often about people, like Elon Musk, is this false? Libertarian Freedom bravado. That is all it's just completely fake. It's like its it. You see it on his platform all the time. He's a free speech absolutist except when he's not, he's not. You see it in business. He's mad at Delaware, but he's but you're right. He's but he wants the US government to protect him against China. It's all bulshit, it's just bulshit. I mean, while Mark Zuckerberg can go out and get a 700 million dollar a year dividend from his dual class shares for the company. And you gonna make nearly a billion dollars on top of his Holdings already. And and what, when you read the filing for him, it says he makes zero dollars a year. He makes perfect for like security and travel like a million bucks. A year, two million bucks a year but he makes zero dollars in salary zero long term. He's going to get 700 million dollars a year because we've effectively left him in an unregulated space where he owns 80 percent of the market and we can't exploit child's children and do all of the worst possible things. It was a joke that they brought up snaps CEO in this hearing. Snap, who has like, 12, users compared to Zuckerberg's Empire. Like, there's only one person, I mean, and he'll make almost a billion dollars a year. Those are three other ways. Yeah, I will say this. You are on your Under reporting. The cost to the company for his security costs. The last three years. Meta, spent over 40 million dollars on his personal security. Yeah, it was a lot. Yeah, there's three options are deep, fake governance, deep, fake safety, or deep fake billionaires. Oh, Asshole the week. Asshole, week, you have a thought here? Oh boy. Oh, this is a tough one. I feel like Direction so I'm sure let Jesse go go Direction. Deep fake governance because we happen to be like what some of the only people talking about it. So that's true. Like that was that was gonna be my Yeah, I agree with Jesse. I was good. That was gonna be my vote, but I want to, I want to weigh in. The other two were pretty compelling too though. This is one of your more successful weeks, man. I gotta say, I just simple but I didn't have to do any work. It's all headlines. I didn't write a thing. Just pulled the headline. Well, it's funny. It's all under the umbrella of deep fake governs because you're you're deep City deep, fake billionaire. It's the sort of the same story continued. I will go deep fake billionaire for my asshole. You know it it drives me nuts that when Musk admits that the only thing stopping him from effectively getting demolished, is the country has decided to disallow cheaper versions of what he sells in the country for reasons that are unfathomable in some ways. But I'm going to go with Jesse on this one. It is deep fake governance, and I'm gonna do it because the worst part about it is Stuart Kirk's, headline of the op-ed was we are all Hypocrites on corporate governance. Yeah. And 98% of what he wrote is totally wrong. But he's totally right that we're all Hypocrites. On corporate governance. We have all these shareholder rights. We have these votes investors fight to get the rights and the number of directors voted out in any given years. 0.2% point two percent of directors give voted out in a year. Why bother having the rights? You are a hypocrite if you're not going to use it but your hypocrite in the wrong way. This 100% matters use. Your power do it. I also hate the childish way that he presents arguments, so he does this thing where he kind of cherry picks facts. You know, he doesn't. Yeah, just the Tucker Carlson. Yeah, he's not, he's not speaking to the whole he kind of, he finds little talking points that are gonna make you like titter and Teeter and tell your friends. So he what he and he uses the examples of Enron and Worldcom which really I just think so he says. So he says, certainly the 11 in that little throwaway. Like, and then there's this, which I don't even, he's like, he says, almost half of world comes were Outsiders too, but the whole point is that the government's world would say, you need more than half being well inside the joke. So, what is he even saying? So there, so that board was majority non-independent. So why is he even using World Commons in an example? I mean, right, because there aren't any all the other examples in Fact, when you dive deep into Enron too, everyone on that board, new Ken Lay, right? Like they were all friends of his or like like that was. Yes, it was before the, the corporate library. In msci, came up with this distinction of a valuing director that, you know, the company itself would call them independent. But the ESG data providers would look into it and realize that they're actually not independent, so they would call them outside related. Which means that they're actually related to management so that that methodology didn't exist in 2001. That's the funny part. He's the, he's using that he's being like well and Ron happened and they had Independence. So governance must not work right? Like but he's also saying but again and the same breath he sing. Worldcom also happened and there were there was a majority non-independent Direction so I don't even know what's the point there. What is this point? I don't know what he's talking about. That's the winner. That's yeah. So is the week, which means Come on, Stewart. Come on the show, you know, he is. Okay, so I've got a few stories that are going to sound familiar and I've got one, well, they're exhausting is they're supposed, they are, they are. All right, first up, meta investors very exhausting. Meta stock. We know this went up, it was already at an all-time high before turning all of that. Yeah, shot up. 12% despite reporting 16.1 billion dollar loss on the reality Labs division. This is what brought those had those. Um, virtual reality glasses, And announced stock BuyBacks issuance of dividends, which we know is gonna bring Zuck 700 million dollars. Annually annually. But what investors are focusing on? Is the fact that meta's bottom line was boosted by 21,000 layoffs? Sure, yeah. Is a 22% decrease since November of 2022. So, just a little over a year ago, 22% less employees and something that they call facilities consolidation, which is combining offices and then making people come back to those offices that are probably not as convenient for them to get to because they've Consolidated. So yeah, why is the focus like, oh, wow, great. We're getting dividends which benefits is up directly, but not, oh, they laid off 21,000 people. Probably replacing them with AI, but also probably, a large majority of those were people working in, like, for safety and things like that. Moderation, safety. Hello. I mean, totally. I just actually, you could have just, said, metuh investors because the stock jumped on news of the buyback in the dividends, but it was like 12 hours after they just got grilled and it was forced to Joel to apologize to for exploding children on his platform. Like, how do you even juxtapose this? Like, it means that investors, are you still invested, Stuart Kirk is right? And this regard investors care. So little for the negative externalities of the thing, as long as the thing makes them individually money. That's it. Which is wild because this specific externality is the future of our country. These are children that are Being harmed. Yeah but we don't have to worry about that until later. That's what therapists are for. I'm sure most. I'm sure a lot of these investors have their own kids that are on this platform seeing harmful things. So anyways, meta investors what the fuck are you doing? Like I'm gonna say just sell. I I want to take credit here for being a genius because I was the only person in the world who when they, all when when meta was like failing. Right? The Meta verse was failing. This oh sucks. Dumb. As I was like no, come on, stop it. It's I mean, I mean, right? I mean, did, why would anyone think that Zuck was done? I would anyone think that done that? I mean, I okay, I do fall for the headlines, my job here, but I want to take credit for something exhausting is okay. Number two, continuing in the same vein, it's the Zuckerberg apologizing story. He says, sorry this headline is written slightly differently which is why it exacerbates. How exhausting this is Zuckerberg says sorry for meta harming kids but rejects payments to family. Oh good. Yeah. So unwilling to put his billions this company, right? The money where his mouth is like, oh I'm sorry. This is what he said, I'm sorry. Everything you have all been through, no one should go through the things, your families have suffered. And this is why we invest so much and we are going to continue doing industry wide efforts to make sure no one has to go through the things, your families have had to suffer. They have invested like only four billion know invested 16 billion in reality lives so that you can get what I'm saying exploited with a thing on your head. Correct. They've, they've invested less than a third of what they've invested in something right that. But all so the metaverse which is non-existent, like, doesn't matter at all. It's just. Where are your priorities? And how can you get up and say this? How could anyone take your your apology? To heart. When you won't, you refuse to pay the families refused to compensate them and you refuse to actually do what you say you're going to do, you're not going to exercise, security does the article mention of the families are planning on suing? I would think they would know they, I think they just said section 230. I mean, he's very smart. He didn't he didn't, he didn't say that metuh had anything to do with it. He just said, I'm sorry for everything. You've been through, no one should go through what you suffered. That's why we're hoping that's he did the thing. He said he did it, right? I guess, but there will be lawsuits, no sure. And the old fail because the section just because of everything, let's not forget that Mark Zuckerberg is one of the the text CEOs who has begged essentially the begged, the US government to help to help regulate know. This is how to do it. This is the joke, right? That's the great Khan know, I realize that but I'm saying he's talking in front of a governing body. That could do something about this. They could right now they Could enact guardrails around this nonsense, but but every time they come up, the CEOs going on in Washington, nothing ever happened. So the house your chance, now's your chance, he's empty, apologies such as this are exhausting. All right last story Adidas. Whoa, right off remaining easy, inventory, plans to sell at least at cost. So they're gonna make money off. It is so annoying. Like this is the same thing. Like once I mean not that anti-Semitism has blown over in any capacity, it's more highlighted now than it has ever been before. But it's been a couple years since Kanye has that Spotlight so now they can sell them for costs. Instead of writing off the billions, it's at least it costs look. They're just like it's not popular anymore. We don't Focus, it's genius. This is this is this is the genius. Oh you it's not about a like this is the great Khan of the Antiques sort of movement, which is to say, you know, dei's destroying the country they as if Dei was taking seriously by more than like two companies to begin with. At. All right, like, most companies, it was all performative to begin with and we make jokes on this show about how performative it was. Now there's a backlash to it, Adidas is a perfect case study. They will not sell the Yeezys into until someone's not paying attention. And then the like, now we can sell the Yeezys because no one's paying attention and it's not a hard moral stand. They're not saying anti-Semitism is bad, there's saying that anti-semite cost us a lot of money today. If we wait long enough, we'll make it back, it'll be fine. Yeah. Well this is the same guy who within the last year, right? Went on a podcast and said that he was a good guy. Yeah. Misunderstood or something understood artist. Yes. So here your options meta investors Adidas or Zuckerberg is sorry for our arming kids and rejects payments to families and Adidas is going to sell Yeezys. I'll go first to my I think it's easy for me. It's got to be Zuck saying. Sorry, this this this this this BS, he's really sand but this This show in front of Congress is nauseatingly exhausted. Not because again again you you have a governing body that could do something about this. I mean, look, the SEC could change its rules about dual class dictators. Especially at least, hey, don't do it for the whole. Don't do it for the whole country just put just do it in Tech. How about we just start and that nice. So or we could just get rid of section 230 or we could just do whatever. I mean, you could just govern, you could just do your job, but it just exhausting. And and Zuck is, is part of the reason why of the problem reason why I'm exhausted. He's but there are many hundreds of other reasons, well, I'm gonna I'm gonna go with meta investors actually, which I think is the right answer because who are better. Investors are you talking about people other than Zucker you? This is an ongoing string of when you cut staff, when you like You know, like you pay a dividend or a buyback, the shares go up regardless of any external negative consequence, no checks or balances, but who, but it's him. It's him. Well sure, but for the vote. But why would anyone invest in the company at all? Like okay, yeah, it's like tobacco or big oil or at some point, making a choice, you're making a choice to hold it or you're not going to the msci's or the foot Seas of the world and saying, take this off your index. It's uninvestable, it's a fake public company, it's one, you know, billionaire Dropout College, you know, a kid leads to child exploitation, China regular basis, so much that your CEO needs needs to stand up and that's just one of the US Congress to apologize. That's a bad company. Talking about that one today. I know. I'm just saying, 20 years of horrible but apparel, but the perils a big tobacco is clear. This is a clear parallel. Why many investors stopped investing in tobacco, right? It's a clear parallelism. So I'm going with meta and investors, Jesse break the tie, okay? Okay. Or make a three-way tie. Wait can't she she allowed in the bylaws? Yeah, I believe in the governing. She was upset by Adidas. Yeah, yeah. But no. It's got to be one of these. Ah okay I'm gonna go with investors. Not yes because it should be they could take action quicker than Anything else that's gonna happen? I don't know. I'm gonna go with investors and users, I'll say, and users as well. But investors, definitely investors. Definitely just sell today. Sell all of it. That is that brings us to Winners in predictions. I love how fast this shows. It's actually, it's a It's a great time of divest. The stock hit an all-time high. Get out now, you made your money right. Want for me, for me, it's very easy. I mean this is a no-brainer. Probably the most no brainiest. I think I've ever picked. That's Chancellor Kathleen McCormack the first woman to lead Delaware's Court of Chancery the what the judge with this incredible 200 Page retort to Mustang musk's unfathomable pay package. Yeah, I'm agreeing with you hands down. She's a free float here. For us, I would go with her but I actually think the way here is Elon Musk, oh, I think that this is actually works out in musk's favor. Like, I think actually that she Struck it down because she's actually doing actual governance points out exactly what Stuart Kirk is talking about which is the giant hypocritical divided between investors who 70% supported the PayPal package and reality, like the reality of governing. I think musk is going to win at the end of this prediction already a winner. He's already a winner predictions, I'll go first, cuz mine's not is related only to our company. After disturbing Ayahuasca trip in Peru. Ari, comes back to the Friday show next week, and changes her opening tagline from. We are live and alive to. We are Undead and pre dead. Oh, I'm not even sure what that means. That doesn't matter. Yes, I got to read a headline, and then I'll make my prediction to outline platforms measures against child sex. Abuse at Senate hearing, I think musk is gonna take this opportunity to fire Linda Yacker, you know, every time every week, you'll be alright. One week. Well, I have a prediction about Taylor Swift or something. That's Jesse. The company already made a fake pledge. No one covered this. They made a fake pledged this week to open up a Content. Moderation Center in Texas with with quote unquote, 100 content moderators, with no plans. There are no details on this plan. Nothing. This is how Elon operates, he just makes up stuff and investing world. Just listen on Twitter, at least, you know, one more across from a dentist, all right? Which brings You know, my final prediction of the week, I predict. That Kimball musk will resign. You know, I I was gonna have the same, can I just say before, I did my goofy re prediction, I was gonna do the same thing, but I realized that last week, I predicted that he was gonna be up the board, so I can't do it. I predict this is the straw that breaks Kimball's back because he was prominently listed in the 200 Page documents from Kathleen. McCormack, well, I was gonna say he was gonna be the sacrificial lamb, right? Like he was in a lot like, oh, okay. Well, get rid of Kimball and all be fine now, right? Wink, wink. I well, Well, I'll say this. Our way out of the show because this computer just some out died Kimball muscles resigned because he cannot take the work, the statement that's it and oh, we have Jessie money was for, we missed already the data queen. I am your analyst told him that was cardi. We are free float. Come back next week for more stuff until then good. Bye.
