Transcript

Oh, hell. Hey yeah. Matt I officially don't leave my office anymore. Yeah, it's covid. Topia for you although that red light must make you very relaxed live from your CEO's fake base salary. It's yeah another manic Monday edition of business pants. Joined by analysts whole Matt mascardi. In today's broken record called September 18th 2023. The Arbiter of stupid is here. That's you, Matt. Oh, that's what I call myself at home last week. We had the Arbiter of Truth. This week, there are the Arbiters of stupid and Matt's dirty ass BMS of the week. That's true, right? You dirty is Bored members, right? That is absolutely 100%. Sure there's no. But I didn't. I didn't call the work. Yeah, and now wish I had on social. Yeah. Oh, dare you. Our show today is being sponsored by free flow analytics. The only. That's right. She did a platform to measure real bored. Friends influence and power baby. What else matters? But influence and Power before I get to our game, right? This stupid 1 to 10 on your mind today. Yeah. Well, we were just talking in pre-production and I that was a court. That was a fake setup. I know, it's really, but you're bad at them. Like, you're just so awkward. I don't want to talk about the NFL, but you do. Go ahead, but we were talking about the NFL and we I watched the Pats game last night and I tried, I tried Like, first of all, I'm, it's getting, I, I used to watch football, I should say this. I used to watch American football. Yeah, non-stop, right. Like every week, we were a loser. Yeah, yeah. I mean, I was like, I was playing Fantasy games. I would go to my friend's houses. We watch the game. I couldn't miss the game, it was the whole thing. Yeah. And now I can't even sit through one game. There's so many commercials and every like half of the players you're looking at them and you're like, oh my god, did he beat his girlfriend yesterday or did he like, it's really horrible stuff? And then, you know, they're all gonna get CTE and concussions and die young, and they're all basically, it's gross. The whole league is constructed around a gambling Den. It's like the otbs and Brooklyn, like, it's just everything is gambling. This is non-stop because the only way I think you could sit there and watch it because it is incredibly boring. Well I we say that and then ironically or on. Ironically we're trying to turn board directors into a State of gambling and we're trying to do that. And the reason why I Say, attention, the reason why I'm a lot of talk about this is a lot of these are publicly traded companies, right? Like the DraftKings in the Caesars and the mgms and yeah, Not only are they publicly traded, but like, all of the, like, the owners of the NFL, like, half of them have access to, or like publicly traded company, you know, ties or it's like oil money and gambling dens, not to mention that, you know, we talked about last week, There's a lawsuit against the NFL for systemic racism, all the owners are white. They don't let in Black ownership, they treat the, I'm watching a little bit of a game yesterday, and I see this rookie quarterback is has two rushing touchdowns, which is amazing, but all so that he is out for the game, the rest of the game, because he has a concussion. Yeah, right. Like this is the, this is the league, it's crazy, it's absolutely crazy. And, and you you talking about like, before, when they draft like players, they basically make them take their shirts off and run around, undress them, make them run around the time them, it's like that. Like there's some bloated. Jim coaches from 1979. The further you get away from it. Like I didn't watch for a couple years and now I'm kind of like half watching again. You realize how weird and screwed up it is and I don't know. We can't figure out like why some of these like director teams are so screwed up but we should just look at the things that like we entertain us and it's like everything screwed up these humans. Suck at like when they have any power, they suck. I was gonna say, meanwhile, I'm reading the Boston Globe this morning and there's a player on the Miami Dolphins Tyreek Hill. Who is a terrible human being. He I don't remember the details but it involved physically beating his girlfriend. No. Am I wrong? I believe it's something like that. Yeah, sometimes which forces really, I think kind of forces released from one team but then he got picked up by another team because that's at the NFL works, right? He is saying this morning in the globe that he's calling Patriots, fans terrible, because they are saying things that he would not say in church. Yeah. Well, I mean he's deeply religious and moral and all this happens like it's completely normal, like I really know nobody, I was speaking of stupid. Let's rate some stupid. Here we go. Come on. Alright, this stupid, this is a rate. That's stupid, one to 10, you can play this game. However, you is 10 the most stupid, and once the least games, already stupid mess. So you can go anywhere you want this? I give the game a seven. Yeah, yeah. Oh, those. I would, that's that's generous. So I found 10 things from our universe. Either involving a board involving a CEO and that just struck me as being idiotic and I'm throwing them back to you when you're gonna help the audience determine their level of stupidity. Okay, got it. Okay, okay, I got it. I got the first ones really gonna set them and help you All right. A pastor. Invited to. What's a pastor like a priest? What is that? A Ministry? Yeah, the past. Why are there so many names? So many names? Because there's so many jesuses and God, you should just be Rabbi priest and that's enough. What do you know, what your gurus, who you are a pastor invited to Ron? Desantis's Disney board meeting, right? Yeah, already we're straight. We're starting off, we're waiting to just like, is this how bored meetings work at publicly traded companies? Do they bring in like anybody? Yeah, this is the headline. He quoted the Bible telling people not to resist, Authority as it strips as the board strips workers Park perks. So this is Pastor David. There you go. Pastor David netsource. He took the podium to start the more the board meeting last week and said, government work is a calling and government employees actually work for God. Um, so this is what's going on at the Ron desantis's bore that he took over is, but the rules. I think that God isn't signing the paychecks. I don't think they work for God. I don't know, I don't know about that. I mean, what about the atheists in government? I don't know. You're not allowed to go. Look at me. Yes, you're an atheist. Would you live in Florida? I mean I guess you know what, I would not be an atheist is Jesus. Sign my checks. That's that would be the reality about this. How do you feel about pastors at board meetings? Right? You know what, I feel like they're stupid or to come. So I feel like that this is gonna be a 6.5. But by the way. Yeah. Are we keeping are we doing like a like a store? Yeah. Are we what? Let's keep score. Yeah. I'll write that one down. Plus what, what do you have to be so annoying? 6.5. Why do you do that? Just round it up to a seven? Everything's gonna be a set of today. Next story, millionaire CEO Tim gerner who called for high unemployment, to remind workers, who's in charge, apologizes for deeply insensitive remarks after viral backlash. Let me just set up the story for you. He said, first the apology. He said, I want to be clear, I do appreciate that. When someone loses their job, it has a profound impact on them and their families. And I sincerely regret. That's right that my words did not convey empathy for those in that situation. Okay, that's the apology that's wrong. He does my kidding was wrong. It's bad journalism. How dare me? Here's the what he said originally. He said we need to see unemployment rise, I know, employment has to jump, 40 to 50%. In my view we need to see pain in the economy. We need to remind people, that they work for the employer, not the other way around. There's, there's been a systemic change where employees feel the employer is extremely lucky to have them as opposed to other way around. We've got to kill that attitude and that has to come through hurting the economy. I like that. He apologized for deeply insensitive remarks. As if he didn't mean those, do you say how are you allowed to apologize? That's a very, it's a very well stated things. He's saying like he's saying this is very unemployment has to jump 40 to 50%. I mean, this is very serious. Specific thing is. He's saying specific things. Are you allowed to apologize after that? I don't know. I don't want to differentiate between this article and the prior article because it does seem a little bit. The same, doesn't it? You don't work for the, you know, like you work for God. You work for the company. Yeah. Isn't it exactly. This is exact same argument. Only this one at least in religion, like you are battling on some sort of moral ground on this one. What is the lake? If like, what is the battle here? Are we supposed to all worship our company? Just CEOs, I guess, but like even isn't he an employee of the company? I mean, question if you were going to fire 50% of people to make 50% on, Employment, you don't start with like the the millennial who's attitudes, you don't like you fire. The people who make the most money like say a CEO who a white male CEO who makes 80 cents like a dollar to a woman's 80 cents, what you would do if you were going to socially engineer, this and this is going to sound wrong, but be right if you were to socially engineer this you would only hire women and pay them 80 cents on the dollar. And you would be saving a tremendous amount of money because of the social engineering of it wouldn't you isn't that sort of how multinationals work? Anyway they offshore jobs and pay them 20 cents on the dollar you insure them but short just yeah. Like you would make every CEO a woman and pay the less right like, which is what we do when we make them CEOs. Anyway, it just seems like he's so specific. I want to see a full action plan here. I want to see I want to like who unfortunately this is pretty dumb. Unfortunately this is not a publicly traded company. But to answer your question, whether he's whether he is an employee or not, I will say that Tim gerner is CEO of Gerner group so you do the math here. Yeah. I think this might be a Mark Zuckerberg situation. He might also be his dad or like, who knows? True, what do you think? All right, give this one. This one's an eight. I mean like at least God has a moral argument. This one feels, like there is no argument. All right, back to another episode. Another board of directors Rolling Stone founder. I think it's yawn. Yawn, yawn venner, I don't know. Okay, we'll go with that. Ousted from the Rock and Roll Hall of fame's board. This is why I included this one, although this kind of falls into architecture. This reminds me of the article that you cited last week. The woman's op-ed about saying that oh yeah, fine, she couldn't find confident women. Yeah, for executive roles and board roles. So, Rolling Stone founder is Ousted from the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame sport after suggesting to the New York Times, the only white male musicians, really matter? Oops, he was asked in an interview said why he didn't interview women or black musicians for a book. He wrote he said, quote, It's not that they're inarticulate although go have a deep conversation with that. Although This Is Where It gets weird, although go have a deep conversation with Grace, Slick or Janis Joplin know. First of all, I know, Janis Joplin's dead. She's been dead for a long time. It's hard to have that. Great decision is all so dead, too. I think she died of cancer know, but is he suggesting that they are not articulate. Like he is not that they are in our articulate. All yeah, go have a deep conversation. It's impossible to have a deep conversation with Grace. Look like is it because they're dead. Is that why it's important? That's it's unclear. Yeah and he said you know Joni Mitchell was not a philosopher of rock and roll all though. What's odd is that Joni Mitchell is cited for having probably some of the most philosophical lyrics in the history of rock and roll and I know that her wonderful album Blue was rated the number three. Best album of all time by Rolling Stone. So this guy is just an asshole. He's just right? He's just he said a black artist. He said You know, Stevie Wonder genius, right? I suppose when you use a word as broad as Masters, the fall is using that word. I don't always talking about here. Maybe learning Curtis Mayfield. I mean they just didn't articulate at that level. So he's saying that women and people of color are are in articulate. He sounds like the Republican Party sounds like Vivid from a Swami didn't Chuck Berry basically invent rock and roll like going to the, it's not going to it. I mean like, this is like one of those. I only interviewed a bunch of white artists. When I was at Rolling Stone, I only know, white artists. So when you asked me, why didn't you interview any women, or, or black people? The answer is, are there any kind of are there any day? This is monumentally stupid man, really stupid in just awkward. I mean, if we want to know, Vivic why there are no female CEOs, or very few people of color who are CEOs that were like founders of the company? Maybe this is why. Yeah, that's all good though. The word, although, gives it up for you, I'm gonna give this a nine out of 10 on stupidity. I'm really hoping there's something super stupid coming because I'm saving a 10 for. Like, I don't know. That kind of that one kind of takes that was really close. I might have to adjust upwards after the rest, I'll give you. A correct answer there for a nine Clorox. Says last month, Cyber attack is still disrupting production. They are now today, they're warning of a material Financial hit from ongoing production. Disruptions the company said it believes the threat is contained, okay, it expects to start bringing systems back up to speed next week and we'll ramp up your full production over time. So a month after the, after they announced attack this thing, that is still causing wide skill disruption. Here's why I point out Clorox, you know, you know that I'm big on this like Cyber attack thing like and I'm yeah, that was one of your predictions, right? I call, I like to call out boards for this. Here's why I'm calling out Clorox, observing stupid. I look at their proxy statement. And they, they claim that seven out of 12 directors, have cyber security or it. Okay, that's their claim. But then they stupidly list all the, the biography and the skills and expertise of their board members. And Matt, I will tell you I looked at all 12 of them, there is only one director who possibly could have maybe have expertise in cybersecurity it knowledge. And that's Amy bantz, who they claim has deep expertise in media and Technology. She sits on adobe's board. And she was the president of Comcast interactive media, a division of Comcast responsible developing online strategy. She's the only one who maybe has Cybersecurity it knowledge because let me just quickly list. All the other expertise is going on. Why you think about stupid Clorox is the other. These are the other sighted qualifications there on the board. There I'll go quickly Financial Accounting, experience financial and operational experience Investment Banking and finance, marketing expertise, former Kellogg's CEO Banking and finance, expertise Financial expertise, the CEO who was background at Clorox. She came out of the cleaning Department of of Clarks. The former CEO at a booze, at a liquor company, some someone who was the former Chief merchandising and supply chain officer at Target and then the sea current CEO of Domino's Pizza. So that That's, that's the other. That's a lot of tech firms. I've said enough there. What do you think? Um, Amy stupid. According to our metrics, seems to only have 5% of the board influence right now. And that's again, that's stated. She's maybe the only one with any cyber security. It knowledge, you know. Laurent more than stupid doesn't, okay? But you're you're saying in an SEC filing. You're claiming that seven out of 12, have Cypress Security. It knowledge, put your also takes you're also announcing that material Financial hit from a Cyber attack. I mean, eventually this is gonna come back to home. You know I read Microsoft Office for dummies 1995, that would constitute. IIT knowledge, wouldn't it? So that's all I'm saying. Like, if you reset a router once is that it knowledge, you can say anybody has it knowledge. It's they didn't say they were cybersecurity or it X. That's true. It does. Just say just said, knowledge, that's like as vague word as you can say in a skills Matrix good. Why favorite is? When they say someone has like governance expertise and they're like you know, like they've sat on five company boards where they all failed due to fraud. Like those, those are great, right? This one, I'm going to give a fourth. This isn't that stupid. All right. Is this? Is ignorant. Not stupid up next in our Race is a great game you've ever come up with. No, thank you. I should just stop now then, because the rest might suck. Here we go inside. Former CEO Vivek ramaswamy. Former staff, say he could be finicky and paranoid and treat stuff more like servants than workers. And that he had actually, he had three Army, former Army Rangers, as his security team, this is before he even started running for president. And that. All of the rooms that he were in, had to be set to 64 degrees or below. And that he would send and that he would send one of the art Army Rangers ahead to the room, to set it to 64 before he even got there. Okay, this is according to reports from his campaign disputed the characters. The characterization saying, quote, Vivek applies, the same standards to himself as to those around him saying he works around 18 hours a day on average. So that would mean that he expects everyone else to work. Yes, exactly. That the Nuance of that quote and what a dumb? Yeah, I love, I love. All the 18 is on average, I want to know what these 23 hours a day. He's working. You know what? I think actually I think that was the spokesperson trolling his balls. I mean, isn't that? That feels like That feels like I need to have a professional response here and then you say something like Vivica applies, the same standards to himself as those around him and then you throw in at the end, something about how much he works. And then off like they they stopped recording. And you say, please take me with you. I hate this job. I wish I was gone and you I like, you know what, I do? Like the stupidity of an Army Ranger, who is highly trained? That's just like an ego move, right? It's like a vanity ego move to hire a former military personnel, to the exactly air. Conditioner, said to head to change the thermostat. I like that. And 64 degrees 64. That sounds terrible. That's really cold. That's, that's like a lot of energy. So beyond the energy usage because I know he doesn't care about that. That's just too cold. No, but maybe it explains something right. He's like, oh, really and cold and oil and all that stuff. And he's like the climate hoax. And if climate change were real, that he wouldn't be able to keep himself at 64 degrees. He would have to like, be more cognizant of his footprint. I'm going to give this a seven on the stupid skin. That's good. At least it's at least a seven. Yeah. Okay, this is a New York Times. Sam bankman fryed, 250 pages of justification. I know it's free, but I like, I'm the only one who likes that joke. That right? At the end of a 15,000-word, 15,000 words map, 15,000 word, Twitter thread that he never posted Sam said, Sam offered a blunt assessment of his predicament saying, quote, I'm broke and wearing an ankle monitor and one of the most hated people in the world. There will probably never be anything I can do to make my lifetime impact. Net positive. a stupid thing, this I don't know. I mean, like I'm what stupid is that he, it was a 15,000 word, Twitter, thread. That he was I was gonna ask that. Very, what is the, what is the fascination? What Twitter? Why would you release this on Twitter? I don't understand. I mean, dude, like there are other forms of communication that are actually sort of better. I know you have a lot of Twitter followers but well really, I will say that the CEO Tim gerner who said that. Awful thing about unemployment, he actually apologized on LinkedIn. Did he really? Yeah. What do you think about Sam here, host and do you agree? Is he one of the most hated people in the world and is there anything he can do ever to make his lifetime impact, net positive? Don't you know what I like? I think he is deeply loathed in a very small circle of humanity. The yeah. People who rushed into the cryptocurrency? Boom sure, they'd be millionaires overnight, right? Yeah, so, yeah, you're probably loads amongst those people does it care. Does anyone else? Even notice like, there's a farmers in Iowa who are like God, I really hate that SPS, like, he's really Infamous a-hole, but I don't he's nowhere near the most one of the most hated people in the world. I mean, this stupidity is thinking that at some point he was going to do something in his lifetime. That was net positive. You were running a cryptocurrency. Well the other stupid thing too is that if you're I mean he's still has 20s, I believe and if you make it out of prison do, what do you just go like working, do social work. Oh no, he'll do it like Andy fast out. Did first of all, he's gonna go to like a minimum security prison where he basically gets to like, wander fields for 20 years and then and then he's going to come out, he's gonna be 40 and he's gonna go on A book and speaking to our talking about how governance fails and all the lessons, he learned and he's gonna charge 30,000 dollars of speaking event, maybe a millionaire. Maybe that's when when he will become one of the world's most hated people. Yeah. I, I'm waiting for then right now, this is stupid, but it's not this, it's moving on. I don't know if you know this story, this is a publicly traded company doc go ever. Heard of this company doc go know. It sounds like Dropbox but stupider. I think it's a company that I should know this. That they help refugees get. Oh, citizenship status. I should know this but I don't Duck. Go CEO Anthony Capone. It's a great name for a New York on a company resigned. Resigns falling report. He lied about college degree. Okay, so here's the background. This is a CEO of a publicly traded company. This isn't just some CEO of like, some Subway shop and you know and queen. All right, here we go. Nothing wrong with that, Anthony Capone Falsely told investors, he earned a graduate degree from Clarkson University in his background. In artificial intelligence has been integral to the Company Success so he asserted that he earned his master's degree from Clarkson. In 2014 and about jurors from SUNY. Potsdam in 2009 on a resume. He claimed that he had earned Zoom, come lawdy. For both of those degrees misspelling, Sumer sumacom. He actually misspelled that in the resume, he, he meant to write summa cum laude, but he was the dead giveaway. So, so not only is the Masters Degree alive, but now they're questioning the undergraduate degree because they cannot get verification of that. So, this is what led, of course, the the filing with the SEC, all it said, was that he is resigning for personal reasons. They couldn't even, of course, say the reason, but, but what do you think about this one? This one strikes me as a fact that like we, there's a person in US Congress, George Santos, who's lied about everything in the history of his entire background. And that guy still has a seat position, right? Yeah. Well, he lied to all the voters and got that's how he drew harshly got to that position similar. But it shows you that Capital markets, the rule, if you fuck with someone's money, the rules are very different than if you just fuck with constituents. Make believe stakeholders, right? Because this guy like there's nothing to suggest he was a bad CEO. In fact, I just started January. Yeah. But on the board is the founder and former CEO, right? Yeah this is this is where I was. I was wondering if this is part of the problem, this is one of the rare publicly traded CEOs is not on the board. And it's a board dominated by the founder and the former CEO. I'm wondering maybe peaches running for the hills because he thinks this this company sucks. I mean, the fact is he had no power to begin with, like he was joined it like like on their whim and they're gonna Boomerang back and it's all going to be fine. So it does nothing to do with the company but like in they must have told him he asked to resign because he lied because investors wouldn't like it although and simultaneously you lied to voters and no one cares. I don't know. This feels like it actually mostly. I feel like It's not it the dumbness is in the LIE itself. Like you couldn't even look up how to spell the lie like you couldn't think of. I bet you if you looked at the degrees he said he had they don't even give those degrees, you know, that kind of thing. Yeah. And why do all lawyers have degrees? Why are they always have to graduate with like Extinction? Why can't you just graduate quietly, right? I mean, Just have the effing degree. Like isn't that enough? If you're gonna lie about it, if you gonna lie, just say, like it lie with a C+. Like what are you later about your lying? What do you need to be like, on honor, roll and like, I don't know the whole thing's a little bit dumb but it's not super dumb. I feel like this is par for the course. I'm gonna give it a five. I will say this. He recently lied about a contract with the with cussed, with the US Customs and Border Protection. He said that the contract was worth about four billion dollars but actually it's worth about two billion dollars. That's that's important. That's like real life. Maybe I on Earth, the real problem, the board, which appointed him was all male at the time. So maybe maybe that's the problem here. Maybe that's the reason we need. Women on your board. Are you call? This is this is an immediate future glass Cliff. Then like this is like I would assume oh no, they they have a pointed. Well, maybe it's an intern but they have appointed another man CEO as a yeah, maybe you're right, thank God. CEO Peter Brown of top hedge fund Renaissance Technologies. Is a hedge fund that has averaged 70% returns over? Two decades, he says he doesn't regret sleeping 2,000 nights in his office. I don't know why he counted. First of all, here's the quote. Of course, I really miss my family. But the freedom, but the freak, this is a man who counted the amount of nights he slept in the office. Yeah. Right. But the freedom to concentrate non-stop on work. While surrounded by my colleagues is hugely valuable and the job is so demanding. I really don't see how I could do it. Otherwise, well, can we just point out inside that quote while these sleeping at the office? He's saying he's surrounded by his colleagues. Yeah, it's so they are all sleeping there too. Of course, he was there then. Oh, this is the worst. This is literally, the this isn't stupid. This is first of all. It's lying. You didn't miss your family. There's no way. Yeah, this is like, every athlete is like, I'm gonna spend more time with my family with them and yeah, that's a long time. Yeah, that's a lot. I mean there's, there's 3605 nights in a year that's like, Six years of night. Well, that's over 20 years. That's 100 nights a year. It is a third of the year, right? The third, like, not to mention that he's probably on vacation, like the other third of the year. What is the point of having a family? Why bother why bother? Like just get escort sent to the the office? Well, I'm assuming that happened. I mean, if you're working at a secretive hedge fund named Renaissance Technologies, Man, this one's tough. I mean, it's dumb but really the dumb thing is saying, I really miss my family. Just don't even bother with that. Just say the real thing, I'll give this a four. I'm gonna give it a four Along the way. We have a category about 2015 pledges, right? We categorize, we whenever company makes a pledge about 2015. We tag it here. Here's another headline, not Regard. In a rare interview, doctor Priscilla, Chan. Shares her plan with Mark Zuckerberg to follow and Bill and Melinda Gates his footsteps to conquer all diseases by 2100. Wow. So, you know, the reason why I say this one, because, like, this is like the greatest like, like, like decoy play, right? Like, yes, everyone thinks that, my husband and we're responsible for like destroying Humanity, but by 2100, which is how just wait everyone. That's just wait 707 years from now which is a long time. She is claiming that they are the two of them. Her and Mark are going to eradicate the world of all diseases. They're gonna conquer all diseases so that means I might be wrong about this number. I think the mortality rate of like the US citizen most places is around 70 mid 70s, right? Like I think in like the Scandinavian countries, it's higher maybe Japan is a little bit higher but let's say just for instance, that about half of people ish are dead by the time, they're in their late 70s, that means you are currently like Six months old, you're a mi Satterwhite. You are Ari's baby and Dr. Priscilla Chan is making that pledge like they're the ones who have to hold who accountable like that you're I don't like that's how long this is. The people who this is going to benefit. I have not even been born yet for the most part. I also like the hoods above being a billionaire and having so much money that, you know, that you're not going to run out by 2100 and you can solve every disease. Like, that's amazing. No Mark has two great defenses, which is why we can't dismantle his Empire, which the first one being China, of course, because it's always a defense. If we break up his Monopoly, then China will China wins, do something. I don't know what the hell they'll do. And number two, if we break up his Empire, then they he won't be able any longer to conquer all diseases. By what do you think about this one? How stupid is this one? This one's not dumb. This one's brilliant. This is brilliant marking. I'm gonna give this a one-time. And finally, I had to include one there. So many Elon Musk headlines from his stupid book. I had a clued one thing just to see where it landed. You have to. Did you have to know? I actually didn't but I wanted to have 10 headlines and I And I bring this up in the context of governance, right, I also bring up in the context of that stupid, remember that stupid Elliot management and Scott Galloway complaining about Jack Dorsey having wanting to go to Africa? Yeah, I do. I mean, not that anyone lives in Africa, and that you could sell something to those darnold people there. Yeah. But they were upset at him because he had like, two jobs and you want to go to Africa, I want to spend time in Africa So, here's that's the context of this, there's a governance context. Here's the headline. Elon Musk has post-traumatic stress disorder from a turbulent childhood that included time, in apartheid South Africa, and verbal abuse from his father, famed author walzak Walter. Isaacson claims in his new biography of the Tesla CEO. So now, the other saying, Matt that he has PTSD, Know. Oh, I mean, he didn't he already come out and say, he was on SNL, right? He said, no, he has no empathy. So that's his claim. So actually, the more troubled thing should be, there is a CEO who controls like the satellites of the world Rockets cars energy. He has five companies social media platform to shifts in your head a social media platform communication platform that that CEO already having five different like companies and he's no startup with no sight, no accountability. Yeah. Has come out. And said, I have asked Burgers, no sympathy for humans or empathy for them and PTSD and I'm makes me angry effectively. Yeah. That doesn't seem dumb. That's seems terrifying. Does it literally is sociopath yeah, and it renews your call. You were angry at the Tesla chair. Robyn denholm. Yeah. That's right. Yeah it does. It's remarkable again, the nobody is willing to kind of again, tell Will be fine without him as CEO. He'll still be making decisions, he'll still be there as a Founder. Maybe cars, maybe you'll even leave them on the board but to not strip this dude of this, just just that one job is just, it's S9, really? That's actually, we need to write sternly worded letter to Scott Galloway asking when the activist move against Tesla is going to happen because Twitter was a precedent. Right? Like, well, I think South Africa is okay. Matt. That's the White House. He wanted to go to, that's true Africa. Part of Africa part. Yeah. That's terrifying. I'm giving this a 0 on the stupid scale. It's all 100 on the terrorists, ruin my kind of ruined my game at the end there but that's the game. That's the you ruined your own game. All right, that was a bunch of stupid things. I'm gonna go next and do something here and I'm Gonna Keep it quick. I got two things to say first up. I want to tease woke Wednesday. I mean nap, Wednesday. Well, what Wednesday? So, last on Friday, we did a show and which I called I put up as a candidate. A person named Billy as potential asshole the week and he lost. By the way, he lost, and they were good Arguments for him. Losing gaming, doesn't get it. I got hit on social media. By people saying both, they totally agree with me and they disagree with me, okay? Like that. So, so clearly there's a split here but what I did was I I resolved to say, all right, you know what I went after Bowie. I don't I like the substance of his arguments, not the process he took. I have problems with the way. He's trying to make change in his expectations. Those kind of things, but I'm gonna put all that aside and I'm gonna strictly go in at sbti, okay? The science-based targets initiative, they are like the defecto carbon, okay, you know, standard at this point, so on Wednesday, I'm going to do that, right? So I'm looking for that, I'm looking forward to this a because I want you to convince me and be. I'm looking forward to a really good nap. I haven't slept well and over a week because I have been banished from my bedroom because everyone in my house has covid. So I'm looking forward to that. So that's number one. Number two, it's climate week. Yes, everybody. Yeah, what does it mean? It's climate um, what does that mean? Is that whether so many protesters or tens of thousand protesters? Yeah, there's a un protesters in in New York City, right now. It is climate week in New York City, that means a whole bunch of people gather and there's all sorts of conferences and meetings and stuff where people just like, really Alison bends on LinkedIn. Who's a professor said it pretty succinctly well-dressed. People basically meeting and talking about change, right? That's basically what she's like every born conference. Yeah. It literally is. And in the into inside, instead of being a boring conference at the entire city is a conference about one thing and nothing. Really. There's at least free coffee I imagine. So I might actually go to New York City for Wednesday and see. See some people see what's going on. Wednesday. Sounds very busy, then. Yeah. So yeah, it's gonna be ridiculous but here's what I did for this week. Yes, actually did our own money Whisperer Jesse. The money was for came up with a list one per day. The top seven dirtiest directors on Earth, okay, I need to find the dirtiest, help me out dirty is we looked at every board that each of these directors is on and their influence on him on these boards and we take their influence times, the scope one and two carbon emissions of those companies each year. So effectively what we're doing is we're adding up how much carbon emissions are. Did you oversee where you individually responsible for overseeing? We did this for all boards that any board member said on for the last five years and we just added it all up. So do you want to know who the top seven dirtiest directors? Are I'm excited. All right, so first up Is Richard Davis? Oh, Uh, nobody knows who that is. He's on Wells, Fargo's board, dick Davis dick Davis Wells, Fargo's board, Invacare limited and Mastercards board, he's responsible individually. Now, remember, this is individual attribution. These are what these people were responsible, for 26.8 million metric, tons of carbon. Wow. Scope one and two carbon 26 million. That's your seventh, dirtiest, director. We can only go up. Okay, next up. Actually, the sad part about this list is coming next. Okay, next. Next stop is a woman named Claudia Ramirez. And she is one of three women on this list. Oh, Well, the only place we've got gender. Parity is the dirtiest directors on Earth. I yes, but I'm wondering if part of that has to do with the fact that we have talked about is that that women are over bordered that they they tend right? That the tent. Yes, they tend to put the same woman onto multiple directorships instead of going out and actually looking for qualified women. So, is that part of the reason why they're on this list? We did not adjust on a per board basis. We just said absolutely omissions. What do you responsible for dirty as people last five years? So yeah, absolutely has to do it, I can see right here the Claudius sits on four publicly traded which is very high, one of which Embraer she is 23% of the influence on. So she's not a nobody she's not like on ten boards with 2% influence. She actually has a lot of control. It's an industrial company. She's responsible for 207 million metric. Tons of carbon 27 million metric tons Of carbon. That's a lot of carbon next up is you're all waiting for it. Here it is. Alexis Herman. She sits on a Coca-Cola, Entergy and MGM Resorts where she has 20% of the influence on MGM Resorts. But this is your second woman. Third up, are your fourth dirtiest director for 30th because we're going up backwards is your third woman Hannah Sorensen. Now she is on Tata consultancy Services wholesome and Tata Motors. So basically this is a Tata play. This is well we'll say Claudia Ramirez. Also on the board of wholesome also on the board of wholesome. There's a bunch of wholesome and and Tata Pierce twice just in Hannah. So Hannah my advice to you would be get off Tata and you're probably better off for carbon reasons. 31.4 million metric, tons of carbon. Wow. Our last three. Our top three. You ready for our top three? Yes. Simon Henry. Is that a real person? That sounds like a made-up. British man. Does sound like a person? He's on the board of Rio Tinto. Harbor energy, Rio, Tinto PLC. So Rio Tinto twice because they're dual-listed and DGL. He has 11% influence on three of them and a DGL 73% influence. Wow, Simon needs to just he needs to just focus on DGL, three off the other boards, three materials company, and Energy company. Wow that's that's that's that's basically is really, really dirty, dude. The dirt. Yeah, second. And this is going to front run our social because it's all going up on social. Is Andre gluski. Hey, oh. Managed this feet. Sitting only actively on two boards. Yes. Corporation why? Yeah, why is this actually on AES Corporation and waste management somehow managed to still spew 30-7 where 33 million metric? Tons. Of course, I think it's coming from Mostly which one of those companies. Ah yes it's the utility I think there are cold burning utility and then finally For your number one who dirtiest director in the entire world. Yes, Lakshmi middle. Oh, I know. I know. I know this name. Yeah. Actually again really amazing. Oh my Lord at all. Yeah. Just all right the steel company. Yes Goldman Sachs board and appear them board. So he's on two steel boards, it's all from steel, but here's the amazing part of Lakshmi middle. The last director was 37.3 million metric, tons last meal, according to our data, and I did not make this up and we checked to see if we added wrong. 202.5 million metric. Tons was subscribe to Justice times. Number two, really, six times number T's been on, and so many boards, all like a lot of his own like companies crossed stealing boards. He's a nipples been around for a while. He's a nepo baby. I mean, it's he's responsible for a psychotic amount of a missions. Any and honestly, if you are like at climate week right now and you're thinking like, well how do I change the outcomes of, you know, how these companies are run or how these companies get financed, like being middle is on the Goldman Sachs board with 12%? Yeah, not only do you have a problem with DJ diesel who doesn't care about anybody except Bonnaroo? but you have a guy who spewed more carbon in his career in the last five years, then everybody else in our database Photo him out. It's not that hard vote. No not all I got and a net worth of 16 billion dollars so that's pretty good for the unemployment line. I think he'll make it, he might solve every Disease by 2200. That's Damien Raul's. I am your anal ate. We are free float. That's a long show. We got there. There's a lot in there. We'll be back on Wednesday with more things until then, goodbye.
