Live. 2022. Still. But still 2022. It's here wormy. Doses of this Biz nuggets. Join us always buy exotic ml, lurking. And masterful, Matt Mascari It's true. I'm 3/5 of a Wharton graduate. I I almost did a third but I up to at the end. I don't know that you're 60% today and our new kitty nuggets called January 5th. 2022. Human beings are foul. Yeah like that. Yes, that's really not new Netflix spins. The Chappelle bottle a win for the vegan society and the state of Maine cares about something. Yay, the main I'm gonna kick us off today and I'm gonna kick us off with this headline Facebook, suspends Marjorie, Taylor Greene after permanent Twitter ban, she says. So yesterday, Twitter announced the permanent ban of one. One of Marjorie Taylor Green's profiles for violating their very clear written policies that applied to ostensibly all people about vaccine misinformation. So, Facebook looked up their own policies after seeing this and found that it did. In fact, State that it's against their Community, standards to all so spread misinformation about covid vaccines and then they drop the hammer. Marjorie got a 24 hours suspension finally, getting something right to put that in perspective, Marjorie suspension will last the entire lifespan of one specific species of mayfly. It's not, it's not nothing which leads me to a new segment, a quiz on which specific Facebook item. The watch position specific item Facebook says, you cannot say is a, an effect of the covid vaccines. Are you ready for this? Yeah, I'm not looking, is it, is it a Skin shedding like a Komodo dragon. Is it B? Mutations to your DNA that transform you into a vampire. Is it C? Increase magnetism like Magneto from the X-Men? Or is it d a mayfly infestation? Which one do they actually specify? You can't say I'm going magnetism I don't care, skin shedding. All of them except for mayflies. You can in fact they may fly infestation is in effect of the covid-19. We always we do shed our skin. We do it like a Komodo dragon that might be is something and I have proof. I can talk about tomorrow but I do actually have proof that does make you magnetic. I love that. They that's real. There are there, were enough vaccine Mr. Information pieces about magnetism that they had to specify. That that's my favorite. Matt, this story is for you. I yeah, I think you thought this went away but it's back. Thank God. Wal-Mart is seeking to hire 3,000 delivery. Drivers as it. Expands its in-home delivery service, Expands. All right, he's body camera. Wearing, specially trained employees will be tasked with entering Shoppers homes. To place groceries in the fridge and pick up returns to walmart.com. You know. Alright. Tom Ward. Walmart senior vice president of last mile. Delivery said, that these employees are specially trained through traditional classroom sessions in virtual reality modules that go over each step of a potential delivery scenario and required to an art required to wear masks. In undergo free shipt health checks. Early Contender for title of the Year. Senior vice president of last mile delivery. I will say senior vice president of between two to five miles away delivery. Bob mass is a real put. Yeah nobody likes that all. So what are these training sessions? Like stop smashing the eggs over your head Dave and don't eat their goddamn yogurt. Susan. And not your underwear drawer Gus. These employees will be fitted with wearable cameras which are equipped to record the entire delivery awards that again. Customers can actually watch that footage for up to seven days after delivery has been completed. He also said remix, there's nothing more convenient than having the delivery driver actually put everything away while you're home. Did you say is this convenient music creepy? I don't really get. I can see the headline now. Masked man, with a super VHS, camcorder velcro to beer, belly breaks into apartment, drops off a low sodium, can of split pea soup with ham and grabs a 40 inch 8K TV with faulty voice control on his way out. Unfazed, homeowner traded crypto That's what he that's a blueberry headline right there. Which by the way how soon until we get like that footage on Twitter of them walking in just saying n-word and word and word that they learned from the virtual training in the metaverse. I'm very excited for all of this. I think it'll be fast, but speaking of hate crimes, A leaked Memo from Netflix. revealed that recruiters were given talking points in case, job candidates asked about Netflix's response to the backlash regarding Dave, Chappelle's transphobic comedy special, the closer look, just As just as a quick reminder. Here's how Netflix responded at the time. By suspending, two trans employees in firing. The organizer of a walkout in protest of the special. Ted sarandos also sent out a memo to Netflix employees saying that, and I quote content on the screen doesn't directly translate to real-world harm and when Ted realized that he looked like an asshole, he admitted he screwed up the internal communication. And with that controversy over Hands, Clean transphobia, reinforced, but it would appear that Netflix. Can't shake this quite yet, due to inquiries from incoming talent. But never fear Netflix has handled it with some very cool, very casual responses to concern candidates that go as such Mm-hmm. Number one, I can't comment on The Closer translation. I'm worried for my family, safety. If I comment on The Closer number two, we value our trans colleagues and allies and understand the Deep hurt. That's been caused translation. We value. How woke we look by hiring trans people, but we're gonna let Dave Chappelle shit all over their identity for money and we do it again. Number three, we have we have let go of an employee for sharing. Confidential commercially sensitive information out of the company translation we fired someone without just cause they suit us and we settled. So shut up about it already the memo also recommends finding a way to respectfully end and move on from the topic if you're pressed further, And if you're pressed further on the topic in areas, not covered by the talking points, there's no script for this one. So I took the liberty riding one myself. Here it is good. I would respectfully like to end this conversation and move on to one about money. Do you like money? Here's some money. You want to talk about the closer? Well, I want to talk about the above market rate salary, that we're going to offer you to shut the fuk up. Wow. That I I like that. The Netflix seems to think that humans are robots because yeah, we have led an employee for go for sharing. Confidential commercially sensitive information outside. What is that? So not casual so casual honestly, can we stop saying like trans colleagues and allies? It makes it seem like why are why is it not a given that we're all like I don't understand that thing with the Netflix apparently not. Yeah, I did the first draft, they wrote villains but they realize that they probably had to switch it. I I got some ESG email yesterday. This is why I developed the story I you know terrible news. I just get I get local things in my email about things going on around here and this is what it said. This is what it was about an act to bring gender parody to corporate boards. Yeah, Yeah, really got it in my email. Here's what it is. It's right here in my home state of Maine. No. Later than 2024 see that Matt, they beat 2050, if you got six directors on your publicly traded board here in Maine, you got to have at least three women on there. You got five directors, you gotta have at least two women so they're, they went for it. They did it. This is only the third state, California, Illinois, and Maine. Illinois. How did that happen? That's it. Only guys weighed only three states do this this Jerry gender Perry. I'm a gender parody Ally by the way, just so you know, This. Bill was introduced by Louis Galway record in Southport one. And I and I wanted to just share with you some of the feedback on this bill because I went to the legislator site and they include some of the letters of the community wrote. And here's, here's some of it. Here's a, here's a sampling. Larry danzinger of Bangor said, men have made a huge mess of our economy in society. For centuries. It is time. It is time. No this is real. It is time to let women make their own mess or to contribute to that mess. No these are all real, this is all real feedback on. I like that the legislature site. Hey framing. Yeah, yeah. That's good framing. They tricked me. Yes, that's your turn. It's your turn. No, this is again, I'm not. This is not a, this is not a bit or a guy. This is the actual stuff. No clothes. Okay, Patricia frechette and Standish. Here's a quote, let us be free in all caps to exclamation points. I think, maybe it's Ari the data Queen. And then she also says stop this tyranny. So she's a she's against this act. And then my favorite Robert Rosati Livermore Falls. Please note regarding LD 1200. That's the build that there has been much growth opportunity already demonstrated via the number of opportunities obtained by women in our state. There is in our opinion. No, inequity. Problem present. Thank you. Robert Rosati family. So he's speaking for his whole family. Well, the news is this is this whole discussion is Had total of eight companies. There are eight publicly traded other than many. That's it. That's really. You can diminish it Matt. But no look, I'm just, it's really one company because it's idexx Labs which has a 50 million dollars. Wax is a 6 billion dollar market cap and covid. Is it too? That's not the piss on it, you know? Okay, it's fine. I'm not talking about Maine. Let's talk about Utah. Oh no, you want to move on to this story? Yeah, I do. Brace yourself. Here we go. The headline is prominent Utah. Tech founder resides this post after anti-semitic email. This is making the rounds. It's everywhere right now, Republican billionaire, David Bateman who founded the company entrata. A property software company announced in an email yesterday. This is his announcement, the Jews are responsible for the covid. Vaccine plot to exterminate people. That's right. This is, this is all real. The email was sent to 50 or so of his closest friends, like his friends like Utah Jazz, owner, Ryan, Smith Governor Spencer, Cox and minority whip lose escamilla and the email was titled, quote, genocide brace yourself. I'm gonna read from the email. I'm not going to make this up. This is a real email from a real billionaire. In real Utah, quote, I believe the Jews are behind this for 300 years. The Jews have been trying to infiltrate the Catholic Church news to me and place a Jew covertly at the top. It happened in 2013 with Pope Francis, Know that either. I had, I believe. I believe the pandemic and systematic extra, Nate, extermination of billions of people will lead to an effort to consolidate all countries in the world under a single flag with totalitarian rule. I know it sounds Bonkers, no one is reporting on it, but the Hasidic Jews in the US and instituted a law for their people that they are not to be vaccinated for any reason. Bateman that went on to clarify when asked by the Press yet. So this email gets sent out, it gets leaked to the Press. Bateman was asked for comment to clarify and via text message. He says, quote, yes, I sent it, good for him. I mean, like, he didn't say it was like my account was hacked, which is like standard fare. He said, yes, I sent it and then he went on to say, I quote, I am nothing but love for the Jewish people. Yes, some are my closest friends, some of my closest friends are Jews my heart, Breaks for their 2500 years. They've been mistreated by nearly every country on Earth nearly every country which ones are not doing it. I wonder. Yeah, then there's a line break, which feels to me like a pause so that he can say, but I do believe, Scottish Rite. Freemasons are behind the pandemic, overwhelmingly Jewish. So doubles down Scottish Scottish cremations are apparently Jewish. I didn't know about that. Mostly right overall, I don't know what's going on. Silver. Lake firm that just through 500 million dollars at Entrada in July was shocked and appalled by this Behavior. As Bateman had only been posting anti-semitic Creeds on Instagram for the past few months, including quote Mason's killed Joseph Smith. He couldn't control Cowboys, Jews have been running Mormonism for 177 years and their due diligence all so happened to miss that. In 2019, Bateman while introducing A-Rod at a Utah Tech conference A-Rod. The baseball player asked all the women in the audience to stand up. There were like in the entire audience, all the women to stand up then, as A-Rod came out, told them to clap for him because they were fans of his. But don't get too excited because he's already taken. What are you talking about? These are real things that David Bateman has done guy linger for this long at this company. And he somehow managed to linger, no one could have seen this coming, except anyone who subscribed to his Instagram account or to hang around with those in Utah today, because you don't, wow, Utah. You don't wake up being this vertically. And I submit it doesn't just like appear in your. You have to work at it. Yeah, it was hard. And yes. How many months do you think it's gonna take him? Like, John Schnatter has been spent 20 months trying to get rid of the n-word from his vocabulary word from his food. This is a lifetime, how many, how many months a lifetime? I will say this. He was so he was CEO. Now, he's he and then he became just the chair, he's still. Oh, crap load of shares. This company. They haven't exactly divorced themselves from him. He owns most of the shares through his holding company, really gone called people. His holding company is called argonite Holdings argonite. Yeah. Um, so argonite is actually in case you needed to understand, whether he was batshit crazy, or not. Argonite is a crystal that has been linked with. These are real things. I'm telling you linked in the crystal Community with geopathic stress, which is stress caused by Mother Earth, when you disrupt it underground, and it causes things like tension and anger. So he hasn't out here, which is geopathic, stress caused me to hate the juice, I apologize. All of our listeners in Puerto Rico and he now lives in Puerto Rico and I, it's a lovely place and I feel bad for all of you. I'm sorry. Yeah, good news. Is we have no listeners in Puerto Rico know, it's not true. We have about four million which is more than the population. Yeah that many let's move on. I don't want to and thank you for taking that story. Matt I I couldn't handle that one. I Could have gone way longer on it. It's, it's the worst fun story I've seen. Let's wrap up with a couple of things from some of our favorite vendors. First Burger King, Burger King to sell vegan nuggets in bid to go 50% meat-free. I don't even know what that means. 50% Burger King will sell vegan nuggets across the UK, as part of a pledge to make its menu, 50% meat-free by 2030. I think, okay, it's only eight years to to get rid of one of the burgers just, I don't know. You just add vegetables and remove, I don't know the fast food. Giant said the nuggets made from soy and plant. Protein had been certified by the vegan Society. Yes. The good news. Is that Burger King said it's 50%, meat-free Target would help it reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 41%. All these specific the bad news is that it also said it's vegan nuggets would taste the same as its chicken base counterparts. Who is it down? And finally, a Starbucks will make all of its us workers, get vaccinated or test weekly for covid-19 except for unionized workers in Buffalo. Who also get punched in the throw and made to stand in the cold every morning for 20 minutes without the aid of a Starbucks. Branded Holocaust blanket, featuring, The stencil profile of Howard Schultz, 253 foot long, super yacht called Pi. That's a weird story. That's, I don't know. That one. Something. I I like the fact that there's no such thing as the Starbucks brand at Holocaust blankie yet and don't like the fact that there is such a thing as a 2503 foot long, super yacht club was appointed his. His yacht is not named after some kind of like coffee. Pun. Hi. What is that? Hi like, he's deeply into geometry like 3.14. That's terrible. Like a grande or I don't even know what the biggest size is a venti. Or I just pointed. It's a venti yacht. Yeah. Right. Like he loves coffee this year. All right. That's all I got. Just gonna kill this. We discussed a lot of that. I mean, all I want to know. Matt is is Silver Lake going to respond to this story about so they have they have already and they're less. What? Is that the response? I know. They they basically said, we're I think they're response was where appalled and we really think this is horrific. And I spent about 12 minutes on this. I assume they have people who dig into when they're when they're, you know, when they're investing, hundreds of millions of dollars, I assume they have people who are worth, maybe even a full Wharton student digging into these companies about 12 minutes on this and I couldn't get into his Instagram account. But there is several there, he has several shity Instagram jew-hating posts. This is like this is not exactly hidden. I mean, here's the thing to remember, If you are about to graduate college and you're doing that thing that you do, where you go back through all your social media posts to realize, which one of these is going to keep me from getting a job, right? Like which is a thing that happens in real life, all the ones of you like wearing no pants like with a bong and and doing keg stands sponsor. Those are the ones you start scrubbing. Apparently, when you go to get like a job as a janitor at a local elementary school, you're going to get more due diligence done on you. Then if a massive private Equity, Firm with 90 billion in assets, under management, throws, you 500 million dollars. That is all so true. If you are investing in a blood measuring company, No One's Gonna Do any due diligence on that. If you're investing with Bernie Madoff, No One's Gonna ask him. What he's doing with the money. No one's gonna ask you if they're terrified. That they're not going to get rich off of you. They will ask you for sure, if you are mopping the floor from their kit, your kid puking on the floor, because you fed them too much, Fruit Loops in the morning. This is a major win and I guess loss for not that it's really gonna affect it for this is a broke culture win, because you look at the Silver Lake, you look at who's running Silver Lake you? Look, you look at the website for Entrada. You look at some of their weird events they have posted on YouTube. This is a very broy Club here. I mean, I can just see this guy going into Silver Lake and kind of winning over the other Bros and I mean I don't know this to me just speaks for the need for diversity in general, I right. Well, how did the Silver Lake just get through? I don't understand how this passed. How these weirdos pass, I don't get it. Silver Lake is the private Equity Firm. That was one of the activists who got on to Twitter's board and did the slow out of the Bearded one Jack Dorsey, and it's worth saying that Twitter's board was one of the more diverse Tech boards in the world. They were, it was, I mean, they had a lot of, you know, interesting, Unique Individuals on that board. And when the activists stepped in, they actually watered down all the diversity by adding a bunch of white men to the board. Sure price. They didn't like the growth of the share price. Probably. I mean, right? I remember them saying that the time I don't my takeaway here is that that due diligence is dead? I don't think anybody does. I don't think due diligence is dead. Due diligence is being done. The due diligence that's being done is okay. Anti-semitic Instagram, post antisemitic, Instagram, post anti-semitic Instagram post, huh? Some pretty good quarter to earnings. And automatic Instagram post and they're like, okay, I think it's a bit more than, I think you're right about that, but I also think it's like, do we like hanging out with this, dude? I don't understand, but I think we're still there, and some of these places because that, that's the, that's the vibe I get. I mean, Matt showed me some of these people server like earlier, and because I'm highly judgmental, all. I could think of is just like, bro, each trips to Vegas, and Well, I'm going to front run a little bit. One of my predictions for 2022 coming up on Friday or a long form show. Yeah. Um, which is to say, yeah, you're right. Due diligence is in dead. What do due diligence is, is in in equally applied at this point. We don't care about if there's a lot of money involved, whether it's crypto and it's Diamond hands and it's fun and it's you're making money. We literally could give a shit about who we're doing it with until it's Bobby kotick and there's a Cosby Suite involved and then we start saying oh no no no no no no no, you can't do that unless quarter to earnings come out and they're really really good and then we're like we will send him quietly behind closed doors and if Quarter Two earnings come out and they really really suck then it's like you we need to leave. We've you've outlived your welcome however on a cursory reading of David Bateman and the Entrada CEO, you would have found that he was an anti-semitic crazy person. You didn't have to dig that deep. We are four people Doing Google research and we could figure that out. Look, I'm just saying we do a good amount of research but we can figure that out. I do think, yeah, but you're missing the point, which I think is that when you have a company where you're four, managing partners are all men. And 25% of all leadership is women They maybe they've done their due diligence and they just don't care. That's just like, this is the kind of people they feel comfortable with. I don't know. I mean, maybe they know all this but they're just like, this is our, you know, this is who we want. I mean, it's it's they do know all of this. This is so shot that they don't know, all of this. Yeah. But how do we not know that this is? Just what's still like just doesn't care. I mean, You're making what they miss something. And they're like, oh whoops, like he's an anti-semite. I'm pretty sure they all about this, dude, and all these, all everyone invest. No. But that's where due diligence inequality is a real thing, right? Like so one of the things that you need to know When if you're investing, if this matters at all, you're trying to avoid this as an investor, right? Like if this is the public markets, you'd see the share price chart but this is a private company, the share price isn't going to change, everyone's going to, you know, yawn tomorrow and forget that. And Trotta like this one, in particular, but when it's not a public company and there's a lot more brand of pressure on you. Well, there's yawning but what ends up happening is, there's also reactions, you see like investors actually start to react to things if like, they if the company was already sucking, I think like one of the stories of 2022 is going to be similar to last year when we found out that Facebook had a whole set, their ex check program, right? They have a whole different category of human beings. There's four or five million of them who can say, whatever they want on Facebook platforms, relatively unchecked because they're deemed important. And then there's two point nine billion other people. Right? Who are just normies, I think we're going to increase the realize as the metaverse unfolds as we see how the proxy votes on folds do diligence inequality is a very real thing. We get super deep. If you're a female CEO, we get super deep when you're any sort of other, we get super deep when you're norming but we don't care that much when you're making money. when you're white bro, we're willing to say, well yeah, he's Maybe he doesn't like Jews. But is that really a problem for us? Is it like how much of a problem is that when you're yeah you're willing to compromise that when the head of diversity at a Google doesn't like Jews. Maybe nobody really cares. I mean baby, nobody likes Jews, sorry. Yeah, that's yeah, you know, my family there. Um, Can I add one thing here? Can you reach out to us? If there, are there any companies, where the head of human resources and or the head of ESG is not a woman. Does this is, do they exist? That's my new game. I just, I was on the silver like silver like website and I was like, I just curious. Is there a single man who runs Human Resources, anywhere or ESG? Do men care about people is that is but is that why you think is he think? It's because men don't care or because companies think we, you know, we gotta put a woman in somewhere like let's just stick her with the Which is it? Well, does make me think of our prediction in 2020, right? Damien. You had a prediction that because of the covid pandemic, where we basically put the head of HR in front of every Workforce, they were the ones who had to interface. They had to implement all these policies and like protect the workforce from covid that we were effectively seeding. A lot of responsibility to women who are largely the heads of HR. The result of, which would be seeing our first head of HR, be asked to be the CEO of a company. That was one of your predictions from 2020. I can say emphatically, it hasn't happened. Okay? Well, can I just say before we wrap this up, carry Braddock managing director and head of ESG, and impact at Silver Lake and Audra paterna head of human resources at Silver Lake. Join, you can join us. We call us. I mean, we will make Room for you. You know it's a startup but there's a lot of room for growth. I mean there's a lot of you know there's a lot you come on. In fact, we'll make you see we care. This is your upgrade. That was Damian, Ross and ml Larkin. I met MSG. We have free flow media. If you liked any of this, I don't know, do this stuff. We'll be back tomorrow with more daily nuggets and on Friday our big prediction show for 2022. Prepare yourselves because everything we say comes true except all the things we say goodbye.
