Hello literally like it caught you off guard or something. Yeah, picking your toes while my heater off live From a bench near Ari's favorite parking lot. And East Hartford Connecticut, near an American Aerospace manufacturer, with global service operations. It's a business pants, Friday, I don't like where we're live from. I have to be honest. Because there's lots of parking lots. I, It was the one that you told me that you like, oh yeah. Are you know, I spent a lot of time together on Google street maps. See, I have to understand the free float. Media exists in several cities. And sometimes we get lonely and we spend time together doing horribly, boring things. Yeah, guys have not in the guise of not being lonely because I used to have like you know I used to be in office of 30 people and now I have like a dirty floor and I went for a walk together on Google Maps with the little far too long, but the little person it's like we're already in the metaverse stadium. You guys are prepared, that's actually true. He went to a food truck. We were like went to bodies of water. You benches parking lots and I promise, I promise, never to do this video, Good metaverse, companion. Can you figure it out? That like my ex companies buildings are all blurred out from Google Maps and you can't actually walk down there. Whoa, one of the few blurred out parts of Google street maps. I wonder how much they paid Google for that. That's true. It probably is a metaverse add-on. What are we doing today? Today is our Friday show. We're back to normal, that's our normal Friday, show, where we go over. We look back at the week story of the week asshole the week. a good story of the week, and Problem of the week, right? Why did you leave it as well? It's called you. Oh it's okay. It's crossed out in the text but not in the outline oopsie. Google Docs is a little. Alright, you gotta pay for that upgrade. That's only for the middle of a special, a new segment this week called Fancy expert. Time, is that what? Yeah. Awesome expert, we talked to late last week we're gonna tell us. Why don't you preview that? Who do we talk to preview that? Her name is Bree. She is a PhD candidate. She studies the intersection between technology and race diversity. She was gonna weigh in on the metaverse. She is amazing. She wrote an article that got circulated in a lot of places about the version. I read the title was the the metaverse is setting up to be like a hellscape? Here's why here's why it doesn't have to be. She is like the person who understands like the intersection between diversity and bigotry in the technology and things like, its it sounds wonderful intellectually, you know, of course in real life. But I will say, if I had known that she was a PhD candidate and not a PhD, I don't listen you're perfect. Lit. Now, listen to me. Rio I don't like people who are on the path. Oh significantly. I like the game. We're already on the Mountaintop significantly smarter than we are especially you, but we're gonna talk to her. All right. Speaking of how smart I am, let's just do this. Let's start this. Let's go. All right. I hate looking over and seeing Ari without a smile. It makes me feel like I've done something horrible waiting. There it is. Okay, let's do it. Come on. Number one. This just happened. What all happened this week? So what am I cares? The Supreme Court blocks Bynes vaccine mandate for large employers and here's a few related stories to go along with the covid fund City Group prepares to fire unvaccinated workers. Blackstone tells us stuff to get boosters or stay away Nike preparing to fire. To fire the unvaccinated and Quebec's newly announced tax on vaccinated residents is already working. So there that's the background. There goes Supreme Court blocks by injection. Look at the story. Number two. Maybe I'm including this one because I'm, you know, I'm hopeful, but I'm gonna I'm including, like all kinds of regular Terry Arbitrage here. I like that idea. Congress will ban lawmakers stock trading with or without Pelosi's help binds top economic adviser, actually endorses the stock trading ban just adding that in there. The January 6 committee subpoenas Twitter, meta alphabet and Reddit meta Monopoly case, Emma report on the test today from the FTC. Given a go ahead, the subtext being here. I want to include this other article the subtext here. Mark Zuckerberg is creating a future that looks like a worse version of the world we already have. Yeah it's just So, maybe that's an important Monopoly case, what I'm trying to say and major corporation are back to funding seditionist. Republicans So those are all the kind of regulatory. Yeah, go ahead. They don't seem to all relate to the stock trading ban. So basically you're just saying shit stuff in Congress, what? Yeah, it's all like regulatory federal government nonsense. I don't know. Government nonsense. Oh, you know, government nonsense. Yeah. Why did you go through without Pelosi's help as you're not trying to be helpful? She came out against Pelosi is a very nose stockholder know, but she in her way out, she's a very notable stockholder, she has a shit ton of stockholdings and her husband as well, she's in front of the Bay Area. Right? So like that's that's like we're gonna get you're gonna get the Silicon Valley, you know, stocky. You know, World Bay Area is all about weed, Volkswagen's in stock Holdings stock. That's it, that's the whole thing. Number three, story of the week carbon emissions increased in 2021. Mainly driven by Kool and the climate change overtakes pandemic. As the biggest Global concern. That's big. Do we believe that? Yeah, right, I believe it. I know, I believe that it is the biggest goal concern. I don't believe that. Wait, you do that other people. Okay, that I believe I'm other people. You're saying that people that the perception of people is that this is the greatest threat to existence right now. That's what the head. That's what the headlines is that the articles? I don't know if it's stating that as you know what, we should think or stating that as people's like no, oh yeah, it's a survey. It's not saying to you. And finally our my favorite included, an offbeat tail here. My favorite offbeat tell the week diamonds Jamie Diamond son-in-law caught in 211 million dollar, dispute between Apollo and an oil executive. I only include the story because it was revealed to us that Jamie Diamond Center is named Joey Romeo Joey Romo because it's gonna be a part of many of our stories and podcasts. So I had I thought that was an important story because of that. There you go. Those are my stories. Oh you 20 million dollars Romeo Supreme Court blocks man. Vaccine mandate. The government still trying to do stuff with corporations carbon emissions. Increase Joey Romeo. Come on. Oh really on these stories? Yeah, Mr. Story helped me, Germany. Okay, I think Did I miss the story of the week? Maybe I fucked this up. Maybe. Yeah, the sock. Excuse me? I sorry LinkedIn. Okay, I think I'm actually gonna go with number three. Carbon emissions. I like when Emma votes first, because I have been seeing all of these coal headlines and I think that they need some more news exposure. Because For the First Time I think, since if, in many, many years Cole has spiked in terms of usage. Despite the fact that hypothetically, we're supposed to be phasing it out. But the colonists is doing very well, if you want to reference Mansion situation as well, By the way, that's Emma lurking. Oh love, I love being joined by Amarillo joined by The Fabulous data. Queen Ari, I love being join by Ari and the the chief pundit extraordinary the man who was making Scott Galloway sweat through his Polo Ralph Lauren pink the force. That is Matt mascara. I like that on your board as your as your issue. What are you waiting for, really? Come on, get this guy. I would love to be on your board. Anybody in Croatia, who's listening, anyway. All right. So that's that's who we're joined by. Thank you. I'm reminding you to tell them our names. Yeah, thank you for reminding me to do the introduction to the show, where I think, I just started to talk and you like realized that other people were here as well. And I thought here is that we we call Emma Emma, lurking. But then, when I ever I make a note about Emma, I write that I write the initials ED, because I'm gonna tell people heard real name is not Emily. That, you know, they also can't see you writing that note down. You know, that's why I want to tell people why, you know what I agree with you. I don't understand how a dying industry is like, it doesn't compute in my head. Oh man. Yeah, just needs to step. Well it would compute if you just factor in the fact that natural gas prices went up. And now, coal is just a reverse and that's and that and that all the Democratic Bluster here in the US does crap because they haven't actually tied anything to anything else. Like, I just say, they want things to go in the right direction but they don't actually make it. So, the fact is, this is where, and this is your favorite topic ever Emma. Where capitalism fails? Because the pricing of natural gas. And coal is supplied to demand driven for the most part with regulatory oversight, yada yada yada but it's not like biodiversity supply and demand driven. It's not like, you know, Carbon budget Supply to manager, it's just how much am I paying to turn my lights on and that's it. And so it's not that surprising that carbon emissions went up because cold got Cheaper. That was that was it like I said, paying their like a southern paying how well I was looking at Joey Romeo's name. So I'm like how much you paying for the thing? I'm Italian so I can make fun of Italians. I think that's the way that works, right? I'm Jewish I can make phone telling too. I think that's the way that works. I think the big story is actually your government soup mess story. I just sense. I did get the sense this week while I was reading like the news throughout the week, there did seem to be a lot of like government fails and government like like moving towards wins this week. It felt like a hot soupy mess of government D, it to me and it included the things that you're including the the it was January 6th, right? Like we're still talking about it this week, even though it happened last week, there is the Monopoly case. And then, you know, like the, the Supreme Court block. I actually put in this government soupy mess. I think that there's a big mess. Well, yeah, it is a big soupy mess of crap. This just happened this week. Here's where I'm gonna agree with Matt. Is that look, we talk about the alternative democracy here. Because, you know, because This is you know we're here she experts is what we do. But there's a real democracy too. And these are these are still the only two ways to kind of get your corporations to act in different ways. It's all we really have left. So either we're going to elect officials in the traditional democracy to to enact regulations and laws that we care about or we're going to do it through the through the shareholder meetings. But so yeah. Well I like For most of the week we've been talking about Russia. Invading the Ukraine and now Biden saying we might have to like, intervene in that like, so now we're talking about war and there's a super mess there. And the RNC is pulling out of the debates, not that the RNC goes, but like in a world where we talk about transparency all the time and how it's important in any kind of Market when you're buying and selling politicians, don't you want to know what they have to say? And I know they don't like the fact that these like, oh, it's a CNN anchor as some questions and you zoom play is you the, the actual the, the head of the presidential debate commission actually was an RNC was the head of the RNC like 20 years ago. So the the people that they're against are Republicans from 20 years ago. All, so, get over yourself. Become The Rachel, Maddow are, what are we doing? I'm just saying like the area. It's all part of the big soupy mess. That's my Fire. Oh well we got a tie. So the winner goes to Joey Romeo. Yeah. Holiest of the week. It off to you, Matt. That's all the week. I have three for you. A fine folks to choose from number one asshole. These are no particular. Number one choice cathie wood. Our favorite blow hard ahead of our classes. Here's your headline. Quote, Ford sees its market capitalization sort of 100 billion for the first time. As EV Ambitions push stock to a 20 year high. Here's the context. Why I chose that right? Ford soaring, and this is soaring an air quotes, Okay? Means, it's slightly more valuable than GM and rivian Automotive GM's been around for as long as Ford and they're about 10 billion dollar off each other rivian's been around for a hot Nano second and is worth almost as much as the two of them and doesn't actually sell a product yet. Meanwhile Tesla is at a one trillion dollar valuation 10. Times 4, here's a Kathy. Had to say here's why Kathy where Kathy gets involved, quote. And she started talking about Ford in GM but quote, they sawed on those electric vehicle announcements. Think about that. That's ridiculous. What, why is that ridiculous? Do you taste the irony? Kathy, can you taste it? Anywhere Ford and GM went up slightly on announcements that they're going to do electric vehicles. Kathy thinks, it's ridiculous that their stock went up at all because of announcements about doing electric vehicles. Meanwhile, Tesla turns his first prophet in 2020. Congrats to you Tesla, it only took you 10 years to get there and they they're stock is outperformed entirely on the performative tweets of their pedo hating founder Elon Musk. Suggesting that Tesla would actually be able to make a car. So wait spare me your incredulity. You asked hat where? That's why you contacts? I don't understand that. She's that sounds like ridiculous to me. She does not. There's no other context of that. There's no other context to that. That was the quote poll and I couldn't find any more about it. How was it? Ridiculous. Anyway if it's a new product line that is successful maybe because why is that ridiculous? And in any case like why, Well, let's let's also think about like the ridiculous. What she's comparing it to like, she's basically saying, oh, they're pivoting into electric. That's so cute. Except that we're invested in the future, right? Like she's that's her mindset. They have a big 42 Arkansas. You stake in Tesla. Meanwhile, Tesla just announced like it was announced a week ago that there are recalling about 100% of the prior year production. Oh, man. I mean, it's unbelievable to me that, that look, that we would even say this. This is why we lump all this stock market hedge funding crap into our kind of called blowhard index, because they say no, they were gonna say into one person and it was Matt. No, no. But no magic to blowhard a whisper. I mean, I'm gonna like, I want to hold on to this quote, I want to remember this for later in the year because this is just for a woman who was so invested into Tesla, I'm just sorry. This is just this It's the most, I'll tell you, it's ridiculous. What are their competitors supposed to do? They supposed to go back to like, prakhar, what should they do? That's what. Actually, yeah. What am I doing? 22 predictions was gonna be the Ford in GM was gonna overtake Tesla. However, I'm holding off till 2023 or two years after it happens as I like to do. Just throw a lot of tried to do was bandaged. What did you say? I need Bria to do the math for me. Yeah. They're gonna overtake Tesla in the next couple years. They will, I mean, you never know, you never know. Is that the you never know they've been doing this for so long? Well, what I the question, a lot of people do wonder is when, when, when, when the troll CEO troll leaves, which is, yeah, it's gonna be relatively soon. What, what does happen you're talking about? Kimball musk brother, right? I do think I do think I was gonna rewrite the headline for this to be Ford in GM. Announced they will burn more fossil fuels to make up for Tesla. Not burning them and he would have thought that was less ridiculous, but that's why cathie wood is my first choice. All right. My second choice for asshole the week. People who sue celebrity crypto pimps, not the people know know celebrities not the slippery. Here's the headlight. Kim Kardashian Floyd Mayweather Jr. Others sued over cryptocurrency promotion. Paul Pierce is the others. They're actually in numbers, the Celtics the Excel herself, really none of the stories had another other except for Paul Pierce that. So he's the, he's the others, I think Paul Pierce the truth. Oh yeah, I don't know. But, here's what Kim wrote. Okay, quote, and she wrote this on Instagram or Twitter, so, somewhere she has 20 million followers, I don't know some stupid Outlet. Quote are you guys into crypto question, mark question mark, question mark question mark, it was in on Instagram. So quote, this is not Financial advice but sharing what my friends just told me about a theory of Max token. It feels like a financial advice though, right asshole move of the week right now, this is not Financial advice and then giving Financial advice. Yeah, sorry, I step on your place, right before. The four question marks is so they teach you that business school like push in with punctuation. I'm pretty sure Emma's learning right now. You have to add for question marks whenever you're about to get financially. Here is though the reason why it's the people suing I need that are the assholes the real assholes here. This is our society. We are so absorbed with entertainers that we're turning to them for advice on fake currencies and then we're surprised when it's a scam aetherium Max lost 97% of its value. And what's being called a crypto pump and dump where they the ethereum max released a token. They got a couple of celebrities to talk about it. They gave us a celebrity, some tokens for free apparently or and then they might have sold them. Some of this is unclear, but they're calling it a pump and dump, here's some illegal. Well, no, that's why they're being sued. But but the fact that of Kim Kardashian's, 200 million followers, some portion of them went out and bought this dumb thing because Kim Kardashian Kim Kardashian Said to do it is the real problem. Here, here's some other celebrities in the crypto nft game, just shortlist Naomi osaki or Osaka Snoop Dogg Lionel, Messi, Zuckerberg musk Paris Hilton. I guess that's, I don't understand these people bought, or, at least people. All sorts are telling their followers, pushing, pushing they're pushing it, or they're interested in it, Jack Dorsey, oh yes. When I say Zuckerberg, I also mean, Randy's Zuckerberg, the sister of Mark Zuckerberg, who is started as a true change? Yes. This is all true. Yeah, Elon Musk just said today that you can use Dogecoin to buy Tesla merchandise, so he's always pushing Dogecoin, and all of the formula won Nascar's Formula One, they actually had a doge car and all right, well, this year, You know, you're getting a big one Matt. And that for us especially for us here in New England are our native son. You know, a Good Will Hunting our genius. Janitor he's been doing Matt Damon. He's been doing some creepy crypto.com commercial blasting everywhere. I thought I actually, I used to assume that he was at a level of intelligence of right above saying yes to doing crypto.com commercials but I saw you're all you're talking about the man who was using the F slur until his teenage daughter told him that he should have slur. Oh yeah. Look. His his mom's a teacher, my mom's a teacher. I just assume he's like, no, the fact is Matt Damon's closer to Joey Romeo, then he is so like anybody else. I mean, we got, to be honest, I saw this commercials during the, the college football championship game or whatever. So right, oh, what's going on? UMass lost that one. It was Kyle watching. Or how is how is that on the house? Watching. Yeah, Kyle, it was so annoying. I wanted to watch the Harry Potter thing on HBO and I get home and I watch that I watched that I was that was very good so boring to me. Um okay so the reason why like look this is pre regulatory pump and dump scams. This is classic. It happens all the time. It's gold rushy behavior and Regulators are going to swoop in and be like Oh PS you can't do all this stuff. It's ridiculous. Everybody who's pushing it right now is getting paid to push it and if you are so naive that when some dumbass who you follow on, Instagram says to do with thing, you do the thing, right? Maybe you need to check your priorities. You're the asshole, not them. It's you. Wow. Okay. Wait, so circling back. Okay, I get it. It's the people who are suing celebrity Christians, right there, the asshole. God, I always have to do the one where I Flipped the headline on its head and was like, I'm ready. I need to get through the third one because I need to have something to say. I'm sure marginalized community of Thomas. Jefferson Canadians, who shouldn't be in crypto. Number three option here. Busam, come on, the unvaccinated you already asshole. They're the assholes of the week. Yeah. Well, you mentioned the head backs, right? Like Quebec, um, and their health tax on the unvaccinated, actually cut back. We'll let it slide, we're in America. I mean, I did live there, give me. I Freedom fries, I don't know what you poutine fries. The Croatian tennis player, who's named Djokovic, who I know, Serbia Serbian Serbian. I don't know what he is Sir. What all the stuff around here him? We talked last week about the the Utah Tech founder and his anti-semitic anti-vax, email campaign, Marjorie Taylor, Greene last week. Getting sued getting banned from Twitter and Facebook for a hot second over covid, misinformation vaccine misinformation. Look, this isn't the unvaccinated our assholes for the reason you think they are. I'm not here to berate you for not being vaccinated. I frankly with this new variant. I don't care if you get vaccinated, don't I care. What do I care? I'm not gonna give you stats about how it matters. It's a waste of my time mostly the reason why you unvaxxed our assholes, it's because you are sucking so much media attention away from what is the real true asshole of the universe, the creation of the metaverse? The next Frontier in Social Engineering. Don't I don't want, I can't quit the backs of vaccines to save your life or someone else's, that's great. Just shut the fuk up. So we can pay attention to the crypto Universe land. That is ruining Society. Just you see that map? Yeah, but the metaverse, the metaverse solves for this problem by it won't matter. Because if you're at home, in the middle of verse, it doesn't matter, you don't, you can't, you can't, you can't catch anything, or you can, you can't spread it, you're gonna be sitting on your meta diapers in your medical. You pay to go to The Meta station to get your medicine vaccines. You, you're better. You're allowed to go into your medicine better, commute to do that. He is the, you know, Frank from Walmart, is coming in your house to put your real food in the refrigerator. How do you know that guy's not vaccinated? He's gonna give it to you. You're not, you're not safe, you should get vaccinated, but that's not the point. I don't want to talk about, you being vaccinated or unvaccinated anymore. Go spend the rest of the pandemic, endemic in the hospital. Just let me focus on the real please. All right, those are my three choices from a doctor's husband. I don't care. People are vaccinated Kathy, would cathie wood. The sewers of the sewers celebrity crypto pimps and the unvaccinated for the metaverse. For taking, anybody ready? Go ahead. Okay. So you really can I just say I'm a really she really lived up to her moniker for the shark. Yeah. She had a lot to say, I I know I'm a pretty well at this point. I can even in a sea of beige, I can tell when she's percolating and she worked throughout the whole thing. Aria, and I were talking like a whole and she was looking ready to burst Emma, lurking, take it away like the stewing one. I'm gonna mix the unvaccinated because they should be vaccinated and I don't care about metaverse attention quite as much as Matt seems too. So then we are left with two. We are left with suing. The people who are suing celebrity crypto pimps and we are left with cathie wood. My answer is cathie wood. It's very obvious. Why my answer is Kathy, would she very clearly is an asshole hypocrite the whole nine, but what is more important tell us? Why is why it is not suing celebrity crypto. Pimps that is not the reason. Why is because first of all, we are sitting here as four college educated pretty privileged people Oberlin. I thought you said pretty. I was like, yeah, I mean, we are pretty as well, but I want to hire smart idea but can we go there, the fact that we are blaming and uneducated, like Cohort of Americans who have not been given the skills by our education system, to just discern what is legit and what isn't is not their fault. We can call them like stupid and idiots all day long but it is a failing of our education system and the information system of the powers that be that they do not know any better that is not their fault. So therefore it is I'm going to not try to flip a headline on its head and I'm going to flip it back, right? Onto its feet where it belongs and blaming celebrity. You can say the same thing about the unvaccinated though too, right? I mean it's the same category of Kind of what you see, for sure. Look, 100%. This to me is part of the, the overarching story of 2022, which we've already laid out and our predictions pod. If you haven't seen it or heard it, go get it, which is due diligence is there yourself a favor? Forget all that stuff. You read on Forbes? And yeah, they don't know what fortune and Wall Street. The fact is due diligence is dead. It's not the college educated piece of this. Sure with this one. Okay, we where we can presuppose that a lot of these people are less educated and they buy and they listen I'll cry. Note it for you. Don't do that. But you, maybe you're not educated enough to know, fine, whatever. Maybe you feel like you trust that person because you follow them on Instagram. Good for you. I can't help you with that but you shouldn't sue them when you lose all your money. Why? Because like college educated throws investors and non College Educated crypto pimp investors. All you're doing is looking at a shiny object and looking for a get-rich quick, Buck again is why we're gonna diligent, why are we so okay? They didn't do their due diligence, fine. They should have done that. But why are we blaming people more for not doing their due diligence? Then the people who actively knew that they're exploiting people with a pump and dump scam. Wait well I disagree with you here don't disagree with you. What makes you think that people like Kim Kardashian in Floyd Mayweather or anything about anything? I mean, all the Kim Kardashians and they have every resource in the world to understand what they're doing and so the only land on them know we fed them. That's why we put We shouldn't, I'm gonna agree with you Emma for a different reason. I'm gonna agree with you. On Kathy would be an asshole the week but because really, it's all just speculation. Like really like that's what they're all doing. Is just like, you know, just asking you to speculate on something, you know, nothing about speculate about the future, and maybe you'll get rich. But I I'm applauding cathie wood from my favorite blowhard quote of the year so far, they soared on those electric vehicle announcements. Think about that. That's ridiculous. Okay, I did think about it, I thought about it in the time. It took me to read that sentence and there's just absolutely nothing ridiculous about a car stock soaring on the announcement of exciting, new EV car line for people like me and Ari who I can tell. You first hand are excited to buy our first electric vehicles are both are very excited about this cathie wood and despite And I'm not going to support your boy toy. Kimball musk's brother because the Dude isn't heard. See, I'm the opposite. I actually am going to listen to our reporting. I cannot support that dude anymore so I I probably will be supporting Ford or I'm sorry. Anyway that's yeah, go ahead and said what do Kim Kardashian or Floyd Mayweather know about crypto so they didn't do their due diligence either? So, shouldn't they be sued? They're not buying the crypto. They're being handed. Advertising. They did. They bought crypto advertise the crypto and when it shot up they then sold their crypto. That's what a pump and dumps scam is all you're doing is saying that I am easily advertised too. That's all you're saying because you On math, they didn't say to their friend like, oh there's this cool crypto, you should invest in, they set it to hundreds of millions of people knowing they were paid to do that. Yeah. It's all saying that if they're giving out free advice about a token to 200 million people, you think there's not something in it for them. That's like if you go to a car dealership, you know, you're being sold to these people. All they're doing is selling to you. They just doing it on Instagram instead, but if Kim Kardashian advertised a product that like, I don't know, major skin clear, within 24 hours, and that's how it was advertised and then it didn't do that. But she promoted it. She is liable for that. Is she not know? The company is liable for that. I thought all she hired, I mean. Okay, all right, let's move on. I think cathie wood is just pissed. The shit in. See this coming and say it first. What? Whoa. Say that. What? What? Kathy? That's your vote? Yeah. Wait, what do you think she's doing? She's missing in the wind. No wind. Okay, just shit and I was like, what are you would? Yeah, she's so sweet. Clean Sweep. I would, I cannot believe nobody chose the unvaccinated come on. You have obsessed with the metaverse. I, I will I'm gonna take your perspective that you always crap on me for this reason. Is that, is that really of the week? I mean, we talked about, this is like a 18 months. They're constantly assholes. They're constantly, that's yesterday the Ariens all over time. Honor, computer. All right. Somebody else walking through fake land. She did all week. Well, you talked about me here. Keep your metaverse far. Thought what is a metaphor? Thank God. That's better than a real one. Okay. Keep the thought when you introduce our new segment fancy expert time as Matt and and Emma alluded to they sat down with our fancy expert. I'm gonna let you guys take it away. You come on, come on, do it. Thank you. All right, so we have our lovely fancy expert Berea who like we mentioned earlier is the author of a fantastic opinion piece that you can. If you put it into Google you'll find it. It's not that hard. It's about bias and inequality in the metaverse soon to be and the article is called I'm a black woman in the metaverse scares me. Here's how to make the next iteration of the internet inclusive and I will let her actually introduce herself ready, let's do it. My name is Brianna and I'm a doctoral candidate and communication at the University of Illinois at Chicago. My research focus is on the intersection of technology and democracy and Austin employee a racial and social justice lens to my work. My overarching goal is really to democratize technology, which means basically in viewing technology with democratic values, So love that idea. She's obviously sick, we love her. I might just sick. Yeah, I was like just in compass how amazing? I find her. Sorry. But we talked about a lot, a lot of metaverse stuff, every metaphor seen thing you can imagine. But I'm gonna start you off with some of her concerns about how issues within social media will translate to the metaverse. It's the closest comp. So this was really great. Okay, here we go. I think really on social media, specifically, you know, research has shown that black female politicians and journalists have been disproportionately targeted with abusive tweets and black, and Latino voters, were targeted and online. Misinformation, I talk about all this, in an article. And I think what concerns me is that if left on checked while also becoming more ubiquitous these AI systems will likely continue to promote racism and other forms of Injustice as well. She was just like yeah, it's like the quote is like the headline. I said it earlier. Mark Zuckerberg is creating a future that looks like a worse version of the world we already have because I'm thinking when she's saying, I'm thinking of Kamala Harris and the amount of like constant abuse. She gets in the real world. So it doesn't surprise me that, you know, the concern is here is that that without the proper checks that the metaverse is going to sort of exponentially, make that problem worse. And she says, if left in checked and we've had a Facebook and Twitter for how many years now and what the heck, have we done so far? No, all right, because know what they do, they don't know how to the people we elect and probably the boards of directors to a corporations. They don't know how to check it. I wouldn't admit it. I wish I wish. They'd just stand up all the boards of directors, everyone cars 7, believe we don't know what's going on. Like we don't we don't fundamentally, we don't comprehend this. Like we don't know how it began. We don't know what it's currently doing and we don't know what's going. So like to work around. Yeah, give us a Lifeline like this is the same. It's the same as with the banks, right? Like the Congress turns to the banks to ask them how to regulate the banks. And it's like if you're going to ask Twitter and Facebook and you know, how do we stop racial bias in algorithms? You think they're going to be the ones who answer the only problem. Shut it down. That's yeah. Well that's where Zuckerberg is, is the best. I think it being the Evil Genius because he always like joke of it. She always always at one back with like we're ready. Go ahead regulates we want you to regulate us. Yeah always says that. And speaking of that, like her, the next thing she was talking about is actually like a little bit about who. It's I think the clip we have is who sort of constructs the metaverse, right? Like and yes. So yeah, speaking of Regulation, one of the things that we were talking about with Bria is so like you said, we don't know anything what do we do? Like, how do we regulate, what is it? And so, she had a pretty transparent answer. I think one of the things that's really important for us to consider is transparency and so think about how we might regulate transparency, right? Because I think transpar And transparency ultimately goes in hand with accountability. Right? Because if we know someone is watching and then we might adjust just a little bit, right? We might conform just a little bit and so I think that is very important for us to think about how do we regulate transparency within the technology industry. You know the vice president of metaverse at meta. Now I keep wanting to call it Facebook at we do it is we do you know, one of the things that he argues about the companies that, you know, Facebook Meadow. We've learned from my past, we've learned, you know, from our struggles of content moderation. And that, they are trying to build sort of safety and privacy into the into the into the metaverse. And I think that if the company wants the public to really trust that they're building safety and privacy, Right into this metaverse into this sort of next iteration of the internet, then they need to be transparent about how they plan to do that. Right? Because why should we take your word for it? Especially considering the history of Facebook. So trust on facebook slash Meadow. There's the zero zero. So regulation from the community to get harassed over and over, correct. I mean I get I got to say like that is probably the The best way to start this process. I'm going to agree with her there because I was, you know, I was kind of jokingly ranting about how no one understands it. But the reality is, if that's the case, if that's where you're starting from, then then just getting it all out there. Starting with just sort of like an open source. Mentality is probably the best first way to start to combat this. Well, that's the fascinating part, right? Like the, the engineers of the metaverse are the same people who are the most Anti Source in the world. They're largely private Equity, backed. They're all about their own IP. Their, their sort of libertarian in a lot of their ethos, we looked at the meta Bros. We've done like the study on The Meta Bros who are basically the the engineers, The Architects of what will be the metaverse, these companies who's their management teams, whose on their boards and it's mostly like private Equity people mostly white men. It's it's exactly what you Effects coming out of the world, we have today, going into that world check and and transparency is anathema to their existence. The last thing they want is transparency because that's IP for them. It's like, well you're asking us to give away our secret sauce and if your secret sauce is racism, then yes, we want that to be giving away but we can't know until we see. And the best thing about secret sauces in this, in this free market is that that's what speculation is all about, right? Like you're, you're investing in, what you hope is an amazing secret, right? Because I, it's part of this game. Someone was that you already. Who in your predictions, talked about regulating space who talked about regulating that was me. Emma. So, this is where I'm thinking here is like a perfect opportunity to like we did with space. I don't know how many decades ago, How about just a moratorium? Why don't we just start with a moratorium on on establishing like who controls? What in the world? Why don't we just get ahead so that we don't 15 years now? We're not looking back again. Scratching her heads being like, well, it's too late now. It's like we can't really do anything about it now, like, why not? We like get ahead of it and put up some like a media guardrail. Honestly, the craziest part about talking to breathe. For me, was how Like I am I I was the whole conversation. I was like we are fucked and she was the exact opposite. Like she was like, good. One of the things at the end of the interview that she mentions that she wanted to leave our viewers and listeners with two thoughts and they were really great thoughts. So here's that, I'm going to reiterate, you know what you said early in that one, you know. Technology is never neutral, right? They our technology, they mediate, they amplify things they intervene and our communicative acts and so forth. And so and they do sell in ways that affect our, our present and our future. And then two, I want to leave us with, you know, this idea that technology cannot solve all of our social problems. And so, I want to be cautious of always looking to technology for Solutions. So our human problems, right? And we've seen that, in many cases, they can work in worsen our social issues and unforeseen ways, right? We see That with social media. And so, those are the things that I want us to be left with, if we take nothing else from this conversation. Please take those two things with you. Honestly, I almost thought, I mean, as much as I agree there. I thought we were actually beyond the point of thinking, that that technology can help us solve social problems. No, I think that's like, kind of Full Circle where we think it's like creating them, isn't that the built-in joke of the meta diaper? We literally are talking about, like, in a way, it's like a joke but in a way it's like medicine, right? Like so you think you can take a pill to to make you healthy. But the whole side effects and Apple watch someone takes another pill for the side effects of the first building pretty soon. You're in the cycle, we effectively are in the same technological cycle where it's like now, we're gonna build the metaverse. We think it's going to solve some like, you know, we can all be our avatars. We don't have to worry about certain whatever and it's gonna exacerbate other things and what are the other pills we're going to take that to me is the meta diaper like, you know, it's like it's like the extension. Everything's the meditation, everything's a matter of diaper. Before we move on, I want to hear some of the hopefulness. I'm, yeah. So give me one. I want to feel better. Give me one second, but mostly what she was saying. Was that? If we should not be depriving ourselves of things that can move us forward and that can be fun. Just because there are potential risks. And so she is hopeful about the metaverse. Yeah, and she has a really interesting Outlook considering all of the things that she points out as potential dangers but she does have hope for the metaverse because it could be something beneficial for Humanity. We just need to intervene early enough so that all these problems mitigate it. It's like a lot of the things that we discussed here. It's really about who takes control of it, right? I mean, I think that's it. I mean like and I think like we make jokes about the metaverse and I'm terrified of it and all that kind of stuff, but I think that in a nutshell sums it up, which is if there's an action item on the metaverse and I think Brio would agree in some ways because we talked, you know, sort of in pre-production. And then in post-production we were just chatting a little bit and we were talking about I made it an offer and I was like hey when you if you ever get to the point where you're talking about thinking of like a capital Market a finance and Investor Solution to this problem of technology and racial bias or or race. How they these things intersect particularly around the metaverse if you're ever looking for like a platform to sort of like think about an investor campaign. Seen around the metaverse. I do think, that's where change actually happens. If you look at the boards of these companies, they're largely diverse. But if you look at the management teams, particularly the big companies, right? But if you look at the management teams that are mostly what they're 89% white, they're 66%, male white male, they're that means, like, in every one of those management discussions, they're the ones building the algorithms. Why don't investors? Put pressure on these boards to say how white is the metaverse going to be? Because already we have evidence that there and and Brea talks about this in our article that they're charging different amounts for avatars. You know, a dark skin to avatars cost different amounts than light skin to avatars already, the default setting and REI can attest having gone into decentraland the other day, which is a metaverse thing. The default setting when you open up, what your avatar is going to look like, is a white male, right? Like that's the default. Setting and bwg boring, what? And that's like a natural state for, you know, a white guy who's programming the algorithm to set it, but it's not the natural state of the universe. The real people and real world and I think that is the interesting play here. I was awesome talking. It was awesome talking to her. We have our final clip. Nice. And I think that without hope, right without some expectation without some desire, then no one will do this work. And if no one does it right? Then we risk the same injustices, not only for ourselves, but for future Generations as well. And so, So I have to remain hopeful, right? Because hope is a motivator and I hope it's very very compelling. And so you know like I mentioned I'm not against the metaverse but I am hopeful for a democratically accountable metaverse. We don't want to deny ourselves of something because of the fears of the Injustice that we might face within that very thing, right? The issue is to not abandon the project, right? The issue is to think about how we make the project better for us. And so I think we can think in that way about the metaverse. Yeah, congratulations really, really awesome like her. All right, one of the theories behind the the Trump Administration. Supposedly a spouse by Steve Bannon, is that the more chaos that you sow. So like he got Pig on my mind, the more care assist read, it has the it has the effect of diminishing things like hope because I think you kind of you, you let go of this idea that you can affect change because you're you're in the you're in the process of giving they want you to give up that's sort of the effect. And when you so I mean, I just like it's a very important point to end on that as much as we kind of fear and crap on the metaverse. Without, you know, trying to take hold of its mechanism. And having an effect on it. It's gonna, it's gonna be what we, it's gonna become what we fear the most that was Bria. Ade ammo are fancy expert of the week, and I will say this, if you are like an ESG person, listening to the show, go higher, someone like her go, hire her and ask her, she's not in this world, but there is it, there is a, when I was talking to her I felt the disconnect between what we read and do and sort of the business world even in ESG. And what real people who are looking at real problems, sometimes do and like she's an Academia, but she's studying real problems. And there's a disconnect between like the solutions I think of, first and foremost in the way that she thinks first and foremost, I, the whole hire a person like her. Just ask her, just ask her. Is her article available online? It's everywhere online. Yeah, you search her name. Will you A link to it on our website that no one goes to, but you will today. All right. Thank you, Bria. And I pray and I never have spoken to the woman, but she did tell me that she agrees with everything I say and think everything everything 100% allegedly. All right. That's, that's our new segment fancy expert time and we, we have another fancy expert coming next week. We gotta do you want to tease who is joining us next week? Matt. Yeah. So next week, we are talking to a dude named a new Shah. He's a ESG consultant. Dude, he is he's he's actually gonna play some games with us. He's gonna do a bunch of the t's here. Is we're gonna play the good game. Next week is going to be our participant in the good game next week. So no, he's taking my spot. No one, whatever take yours Orbiter of Truth. So wait, he's he's back up. Yeah, let me ask you this. Is he an ESG expert? He would you give him a shirt? Would you give him? I would give him one shirt from my from the free flow Etsy store my closet one. Sure he's not a dual that's next week. Fancy expert time. The ESG expert news. All right, if you're a fancy expert reach out to us, we like fancy expertise to them. We're talking to you all right? Yeah, we'll put our business pants on. There you go. All right good. That's now tell us move on. Come on, come on, come on, sweet. Sweet Ari over there. Good list the week. Come on, ring us out. Yes, good leaders of the wheels. Let's Do It. Come on. All right. Yeah. So this week I had a lot of trouble and okay, so help me out. The guy in charge of assholes of the week. Yeah, I I chose this. Oh anyway, the story I'll start today is speaking about transparency and the metaverse made me think of Google, the National Labor Relations Board, a judge from there. About this case, they ruled that Google can't hide documents showing their anti-union campaign. So this ruling came from. I don't know if you remember but in December 2020. Um, they're being sued because the National Labor sport is alleging, the Google violated you a slate us labor law by spying on and firing employees who are organizing protests and trying to unionize. So the documents and question the ones that Google does not want to give up that once that happens subpoenaed, they involve Their consultant are i r. I oh my gosh. That's difficult to say I already. Yeah consultancy. Who is no known for anti-union messaging and message of amplification strategies that companies hire them so they don't have any problems anyway. There's documents to go between them and Google cc'd. I'm assuming emails could see seed or whatever their lawyers and they were claiming attorney client Privileges and saying you cannot have this because our it was through our attorney and a judge was like no just because you see your lawyer does not mean these are offline because you could see your whole life to your lawyer. And then you said I'm like I'm plenty of lawyer friends. I'm gonna see the money. Everything I do just in case. She's making an avocado you see a copy of the toast. But so who is the good? Who is the good, the National Labor Relations Board? The good is that they cannot documents. Yeah, the ruling got it, the rules, they gotta show their stuff. So anyway, that's all stuff. Now, unfortunately are not rain in My Parade, come on. I say, if any company that knows how to hide anywhere. Gonna stand up to this person, who's this person, this group of people who just gonna hide their things. And anyway, we gotta trust the process sometimes. Okay, this is the best we can do, okay? Hope I like it also, Number two. Today, this is today, this is fresh news, you guys. Okay, well, I like fresh President, Biden nominated. Three candidates to the Federal Reserve board. Yes, if a proved this would make the seven-person board The most diverse it's been and it's 108 year history. He's nominated two. Do you have the three are black two of the three come from their researchers researchers at universities, actually. So Yes. Well, just like breathe. Yeah. You know what is important, right? Tell us. Well, so the FED sets monetary policy in the country for, right? So, um, so so the FED imagine just think of it this way for 108 years, white people have decided what the government is going to do with money and inflation and monetary policy. Yeah. Now you have a situation in which some not white people and not mostly men. All. So can make those decisions. I am very excited about the potential different decisions. That might happen as a result. Yeah, you never know, but just having someone with different perspectives in the room. It's gonna, oh God. Don't, don't you handle in this show? There's no, not just a bit more than in the room. Well, yeah, it's very exciting. Anyway. No, it's great. It's great, my number. So that's Dollar Tree, at least the weekly at least at the week. And I only pick Liz is good least of the week because I woke up to it and I giggled My account, third. I called it joke on Djokovic. Very nice. Australia said, just kidding. Is it a pun know? Yeah, it's not. It's just a joke. It's kind of a pawn. So Australian immigration Minister canceled djokovic's visa for the second time. And I don't know if you remember about on Monday, this past Monday, a judge ordered his release from being detained after a few days. Then, two days after on Wednesday, he admitted that he had lied on his travel. Document things that he presented to border officials. So he will be a detained again tomorrow, but not because he's presenting Falls information and his travel documents or because they think that he poses a health risk to the Australian people, but because officials believe his presence in the country. Poses, a risk to anti-vax sentiment. like, Come on, let's just funny. The Australian Open begins on Monday and their reading Champion. I don't know if he will make it or not. Okay, so we have excited to come on, we're gonna recapping uh, President Biden, three candidates, the Federal Reserve board. Two of whom are are diverse. That's what we're saying. First female, first black, female board member and another blog say that all three of our drivers. I'm saying it all three Universe. Holy Bible can't hide document showing an anti-union compliment. Blah. Number three joke on Djokovic were plotting Australia for broken, Australia for giving us some entertainment. Oh Matt would probably not like that because it's taking people off the metaverse news. Oh come on. He's not. That simple minded. Are you kidding as an immigrant? I will tell you that if I fell out anything wrong on any border thing I could kiss. Whatever. Goodbye this Really tickles. It is a, I don't have quite your experience, probably, but even the one year I spent going through that process for for a long-term Visa, it's frightening. Every, every moment, every every line you weighed in. Every, every x-ray you take to look at your heart. Like it's a because you just think you're gonna screw up everything and they're gonna kick you right. And they know that they're there, they know that. Yeah. All right, I can keep my pattern of going first, I'm ready. Oh well I like that. I'm a nose already. Okay. So I like the joke of each one especially for its entertainment value. However, it is reversing stupidity, so I feel like it doesn't deserve the wind today. And then lack of transparency. I really I appreciate this headline. I do think this is a good headline. However, I think that I don't know, I just want to give someone credit for like a positive thing like not a Nick it's you know it's Google getting you know it's a good thing that someone it's like a negative for Google not like a positive one. So I'm going with the Federal Reserve board because it's only seven person board and it's now too like women. That's you know, two black people on a seven-person board is a higher percentage of black people. Yeah. Most corporate boards. So yes, absolutely. I just like that usually zero percent. I'm going that's what I'm doing. I'm I'm not gonna waste anyone's time. I agree with Emma, and I will say that, this is something that that President Biden during the campaign promised, he promised to kind of start to change a lot of our Institute, a lot of the faces and diversity of our institutions. This is one promise that make it look more like the country. Know, but he's consistently coming through on this promise and I applaud it wholeheartedly. So I agree with you. It's gonna be a clean sweep. And for obvious reasons like, you know, the FED is, you know, the one in charge of things like quantitative easing and, you know, we're working to set inflation. And I am just fascinated by what happens if a group of people who aren't like all from the Chicago's School of white male economics, do with some of these things and I can't honestly it it's it can't be, it can't be much worse, right? So we'll we'll be happily surprised by policies that actually makes sense for, you know, all of America. I'm excited about that. That I actually think That's a good story. I usually all the stories that is actually a good story. Remember that for the good game. Oh. More importantly, we finally have a new sound effect. That's the most important thing, Emma. Why don't you bring us back down? No problem. Yeah. Irritate depress us no problem. Welcome to irritating list of the week. Everyone's favorite segment. Yada yada yada. Here we go. Number one. Apple is still bigger than all these companies combined. Matt, you haven't said anything but shut up. I don't, I don't want to hear your thoughts about this yet. So according to Yahoo finance, they have some data that says that apple is currently bigger than Tesla, meta and Berkshire Hathaway. Come bind those three companies combined 2.6 trillion dollars trillion dollars and apple is still bigger than them. They are also bigger than JP Morgan, Johnson, and Johnson Visa United Health, Home Depot, and Bank of America. Combined who are also worth about 2 points 6 trillion dollars. And apple is still as big if not bigger than those two combined like said Japanese, why is this irritating? Love it. I shouldn't be alone on this but it irritates me that no one cares. I don't think anyone cares about this. Like the tone of this article was not, isn't this how crazy it is? Are they too big? It was just like here are some facts. This is the truth and it's not concerning anyone news outlets pundits. No one seems to be skeptical that this isn't acceptable way for Apple to exist. And I feel like someone should be concerned. That apple is triple the size of meta, triple the size of God. In reverse. Thank God. This is what matters is? Only Apple exactly. Well, they're more reasons than that. This is why I was, this is why it's a relief that Steve Jobs did not die and it's still kicking good. Oh yeah, perfect. All right, I don't care. But I care. So I'm gonna say it anyway. Number two, I mean, this is one always be, you know, I will talk later. What? Whole time. Oh, let's go. Number two, let's go. Um, Elon musk's boring company, ramped up, its Las Vegas tunnel to 70 Teslas. So this story I have to admit actually in this, why? This is annoying will become totally understand that. Um, so this story actually broke last Friday when we were like doing the show so I don't even need her, that's fine. Yeah, so unlike know I am I unfortunately not fresh. I am a little a little um yeah, it's all crusty but it's worth it. I promise. So the consumer electric show in Vegas happened, last Thursday and the boring company which is Elon musk's company that literally drills into the Earth. They are not boring like snoring. They are boring like boring through the year. I didn't know that. Yes, yeah it's not just found out that that Bob Dylan was actually the thing. You're so welcome, that's not good. In. In conjunction with the consumer electric show happening. They increase their Fleet of Tesla's in their hyperloop in the Las Vegas Convention Center Loop to 70 Vehicles. So I, as a reminder, the hyperloop is a 1.7 mile underground tunnel. That's I think I believe it's a loop. So it's circular and they now have 70 Teslas in it with drivers, each Tesla's driven by a driver who brings passengers between three stops on the hyperloop. The purpose was, yeah, one point seven miles walk-in. Yes. Exactly. Cut down, traffic. Shouldn't you be walking 1.7 miles? Yeah. It's that's what I think. People don't understand about dating. It is one short so it's supposed to cut down. Its three different stops its supposed to cut down on foot traffic. Yeah it's weird and ostensibly you're you're in Vegas as a tourist anyway so why not walk and just look around. Have you all sorts of points that Considering. Actually, I have one now. Don't you understand why? You don't want to know. I was good. People watching. It's fascinating. So the cars, so they're Tesla. So their cars that are going around the hyperloop and they can go a Max of 40 miles per hour. It's supposed to transport about 4,000 passengers an hour, but it looks like it's more like 1,000 due to fire regulations. So, it's not even carrying, right? Okay. So it's a Subway, but it's card, bill out of individuals, not that way. And that is. So why do you hate? Because it's not everything. That's why. Hey, so okay, think about this for a second, there are 70 tests, and with, every passenger seat filled, there can be a maximum of 280 people traveling at once. If you fill every passenger seat in your squished, in the back with three people and you're on sure. So why aren't they self-driving? They eventually will be, but that is not within their capacity at this moment in time, but that is the Hope in the future. So put that shit on a boat. I have definitely been on train cars where there are half that met many people like you can shove. So many people onto a subway car onto a bus, but with 70 cars, only 280 passengers. So, not only that, but it only serves people at a Convention Center. God forbid, we build transportation for people who live in areas that actually need it. There you go. Yep. That's where you got me and there was actually a traffic jam. That was a one point seven mile Loop and during the convention there was a traffic jam that added a full minute onto what was supposed to be a two-minute trip. 50% America, Emma. We don't understand. We don't understand. Exactly. We don't like irritating. Why must there be hyperloop? When public transportation does, everything it's trying to do better. Sure, you just don't understand number three. The electric vehicle part. You're like, screw all. I love everything. I love everything about the fact that Elon Musk basically started a company that does the big dig in lots of exactly. That's all that is doing anything else. All Right, company, number three, Tim Cook is officially a billionaire after 8:00 500%. Pay raise in 2020, he made five hundred percent 500 percent. Wait, Wait, you talk about the dude? Who runs the company? Is that is literally 19 times bigger than everything. Sorry, you don't think that dude deserves a raise ours is Tim Cook. Have in a day, is Tim Cook. One human being does, Tim Cook need the 1001 alone. His base salary is 3 million, his bonus was 12, but most of it is coming from an equity plan, that was going to give him 82 million dollars. If he's in equity, if he stayed on a CEO for 10 years, which he has now done. But the reason he is now something. He agreed. Yes, he ten years ago but the reason he died billionaire is, I'm sorry. Did you say that? You thought he died. Know what if he had died? Oh my God. I thought you said, I thought he died wrong one, but the reason he's now a billionaire. So all of that money is a ton of money but that doesn't make you a billionaire necessarily. But what does make you a billionaire is 5 million? Vested Apple shares worth about 750 million dollars. So whoa. So why is this irritating? I don't know why on Earth were okay with Tim Cook making 100 million dollars a year, but they insist on using unethical labor. Like it just just not like give it to a tennis player, right? Exactly. Um, if you're not irritated by this, I don't understand you. Number four, know we'll talk about it Google. We already said, this is actually something that Damian covered earlier this week, but I thought it was very irritating and working. Google is supplying full-time staff with rapid covid-19 tests. While contractors must wait for slower, mail-in results. So it's bad. Temps contractors and external vendors make up about half of Google's 120,000 employee Workforce. But this is an extension of a long time problem within Google between its full-time staff and it's part-time staff. They run on what they call a two-tier employment system. So they like exactly. So, like in this is been a long-running argument. So temporary workers often. Get paid less. They don't have access to the full-time. Google employee benefits like paid vacation, time, or stock options, or you can't even get out of here systems to, you know, request a monitor for your desk. The way that Google full-time employees can but they have even gone so far as to do illegal. Blatantly illegal shit like violating pay parity laws in Europe and Asia that require companies to pay full-time, and temporary workers, equal wages. And they did shopping concept shocking Concepts. So actually what they did was when they discovered their, they were missing like Read million dollars from making their pay for making the pay equal and they discovered this and then decided to only adjust the wages of the new employees. And rather than fixing everyone else's pay so it should be, it's not great. All right, that's all okay. And I'm gonna I am I'm gonna rename this segment to Emma still hate apple, and I still hate you on Moss. Emma still hate Google. That's so irritated all the time. I don't know you. Yeah, I mean this is a clear pattern of your irritation. I get my gosh. I didn't know about this. Who wants to go first. I know you don't have no processing. Okay. I'm still impressed. I mean for me to easy. Yeah. Go ahead, man. Go you go, you. It's easy for you to me. It's easy because I I I'm not. I never. I cannot stand for your Apple. Hey, Emma. Until you give up. I don't care. I don't care what they do but I will forever make fun of you for your Apple. Hey, and yet you are like you could be using a Linux operating system for those Owned by so many things. You there's so many things that you could do that here, that alignment with your values and you refused. So I'm Never Gonna Let You. I'm Never Gonna Let You never have a computer rotating. I need a computer of some sort. Did you just hear what I said? Use a Linux operating system, which is just as good of Apple, if not better, and completely 100% with your values, 100% non-profit completely. Oh, stop. Just let it go. So, I'm not gonna let you get away with apple. Just want to be better. I'm with you on Elon Musk. You know there's a there's a there's a part of me that kind of I don't hate the boring tunnel as much as you do. I hate it in Vegas but maybe it could solve for certain things somewhere. So I'm gonna give Elon a pass on this one even though I really like, I'm gonna to me, it's an easy one, which is Google, is they need to hire these people, I'm sick of it. Like I think it's, like, sort of outrageous that not sort of, it is outrageous. That a company of this magnitude with with the amount of resources, it has keeps half of its Workforce kind of in this like never never nail bedding. Am I important enough land? I find it. Cool. I was attempt at a company for a year and a lot of the people who joined that company had to go through the same thing and it's nerve-wrecking and it's annoying, and it's dehumanizing and it's stupid. Alphabet, you can hire these people, just hire them and give them the same benefits as everyone else. It's, it's embarrassing at this point, honestly, so I'm putting for that one. I am a little Indie, just my opinion, man. I'm just my small teachers about to agree with you. For the most part. I'm a little indeed Camp. I'll tell you why. At the beginning, I don't care about Apple being bigger and I, you shouldn't either the stock market's fake, it's bigger. It's its market capitalization, which is the value, is bigger than those companies. Yeah. Okay. When you look at Apple's total assets, they have 230 billion in total assets meta has our Facebook has 133 billion in total assets. If you take away apples cash, which they've been sitting on for 10 the same size, they're basically the same company. It's just investors like the Apple story more and therefore, its Mark capitalization is better story. Three trillion Sexy, it's clean and sexy. Nobody cares. Nobody cares about their stupid market capitalization story, except for the fact that that drives what goes into an index that they're the largest index position. I don't really care and the money about Tim Cook from 10 years ago. You know? Like, that's I'd rather you got paid a trance 10 years ago that said, Do Well, 10 years from now because the average CEO doesn't last 10 years. They last seven, they tell us five to seven years is the average CEO tenure. Right? So that he lasted 10 years, I'm not surprised that they missed the option 10 years from now, but, you know, good for him. You made it, you're right to hate that Emma. We call it. We have a name for this. It's called pay for pulse. It's basically, you're paying someone to keep living to your point Ari. I mean, he's, he's getting a big bonus because he's still alive. He doesn't irritate me. Because it happens like, you know, it's all the time right up until I'm really torn between the boring company and and Google and the Google one is irit. Eating for like all the reasons Damien stated the boring company, is more in the spirit of the irritating a game. It is, is just irritating. How, but what if it, but what if he did it? What if it like was in Los Angeles or something? That really does. I'm sorry, you should invest. You should invest in public transportation over the seven miles. What the know. You're right. You're right. Two miles, and about 25 minutes. 1.7 miles with the traffic jam inside the tunnel. Yep. I don't, ya and Buzz me buzzed me. If you need to Emma. I've been in Las Vegas. Those people need all those people. Majority of them need to be walking one. There should be. Yeah, this should be. I mean, have you seen the buffets? Have you seen the buffets fatphobic? I I really, I didn't say I didn't say fat. I really think I really think that that one I While I agree that it's not irritating to me the way, Google treats dual class employees. It's like outrageous to me. This is the irritating one. This is the one where I'm gonna go to bed tonight. Like, probably write serious. That think this thing exists. I'm voting Elon Musk. Yeah, yeah, boring it is. It does seem like a. You could rename the company ego company. All right, Ari. But I do like, I do giggle when I hear boring. All right, it's all down. You said that? I giggle, I don't like going last. I really could cut you. We could cut you out of the show. I'm gonna vote not because Matt said it but because it's just so annoying. The boring company thing. All right, so annoying, it's irritating know, it's not even knowing it's really happy. That I know what the boring company does. Thank you. Emma, you're so welcome. So the winner there is really now I know I'm gonna quickly recap because we're not entering her 17th hour for the week. All the all the Congressional Arbitrage, all all the craziness going on in Washington government dealing with the regulating our corporations as whole of the week as holy, so the week Kathy Wood, A good list of the week President Biden, announcement of the diverse slate of candidates Federal Reserve board. And the irit most irritating this of the week, Elon musk's boring tunnel in Las Vegas, which is about the length of a couple of football fields. Who on the week? I think. Bert Bria won the week. Yeah. Oh, you know what? You know what, kill the rest of the voting just Brea won the week. I was. And, and this is a, this is a true feather her because I was gonna say, Lisa Cook Economist from Michigan State University. He was one of those diverse candidates announced by President, right? I'm gonna give it to the real one, the week. All right. Do we have any predictions predictions? I actually have a couple predictions. I like your predictions. My first one happened before the show. My second one happened during the show. The first one is at the stock trading ban that we're talking about the brain. In Houston is much to do about nothing like everything else. We're being teased, it's not going to go through the second one along the same lines, The Joker Djokovic, the Serbian robot, who played who dominates tennis is Gonna Come on. He's gonna play in the stupid tournament because TV ratings will be higher and advertisers are king and that you always gonna play, you know, he's gonna play, it's just the same Brett Favre. No, not forever. What's this idiot's name row? Karen Rogers. Just the same way. Karen Rogers keeps playing it, just it come. He's gonna be MVP one. Can you imagine? That should be windy now irritating, that 100% is irritating. What you should actually not have any other options. Is that one star? What a great guy. I'm surprised. Anyone else you don't have any Joey Romeo predictions at all? I can't believe that. Well, I did predict earlier in the show that we're gonna be referencing him for at least six months, so, that was my prediction. And I already since then, we've, I think we've said his name like six. I mean, well, because my prediction are that both Joey Romeo and joke of itch sell crypto on Instagram next week. That's you can't talk that. Yeah. All right I'm on anything before we get better than Joey Romeo and Djokovic selling crypto. I just want I want Joey coin. Let's be honest. Uh Joey Romeo was born to sell more so like tomato sauce. Perhaps, you know, sure whatever tomato sauce. What was your racist? You know what I am. Here baby, that's my mom's baby names. Taurus a Las Vegas but you can start to Italian American.
