I just say that. Staring at my new hammock. So it's the perfect music and it's like right? Right in the sunshine and I can't wait to lay it. Wow, you're gonna live the life after we're done with that like it. I went to bed at 3:00 last night. Hey, it's business. Pants Friday. See how excited I am? You are excited. Live from room, 624 at the Hilton Garden Inn. In downtown Burlington Vermont. It's yet another? Yeah, another incomplete version of business pants Friday. So we I don't remember the last time, the four of us were together me either. It's been over a month. I think it would be really weird and awkward on a Slave at this. Yeah, I'm not don't come back and we have the good. And we put the good game in a long time. Either like that used to be our thing before of that was got Aries. The most excited joined today by who's here, Emma lurking. And the data Queen, Yep. President. Matt is off. Somewhere. Do you know where Matt is? No. Okay. I don't know enough. He doesn't tell me. Ari knows, but she's not gonna tell us. Magic is ruined dollar mornings by pointing to Them now. Oh wait. He did Breaking but I already saw that. Yeah, it's not really seeing it in print. It hurt. Yeah, I got that. I got that sweet. New York Times notification. It was not my favorite. See, Delta, I was all my news notifications. I think two years. Like I don't have to know things real, it's true. Yeah that's the And that's the biggest issue with this company, with this, at least the creative side of this company because we do we do headlines every day. Keep reading these articles about how You know, people get their sick of negativity, the sick of depressing headlines and we try to we try to lighten the mood. We try, we try to have a little fun, but it's, it's just difficult. It's difficult to live in a world supposed to do that today. I don't know. Well, we'll do our best. You have some good story. Let's get, let's just get to it. Come on, let's start the show. Every Friday we do our weekly Roundup. I I look at the story of the week. Ari looks at the goodlow story of the week so hopefully Arya will have something that you're us up. Matt, of course, covers the ass holiest and Emma with the irritating us and then we all vote on it and we hand out prizes and we all hug and go home. Okay, you ready. Ready. Hear my stories. Thank you. I don't like yeah I still hate that you use that belts but anyway okay I guess I'll I guess I'll start with the last one since we already covered it Supreme Court. I hate to say this out loud, I came I believe I'm saying this actually, I can't actually believe this is the reality I'm living in but Supreme Court. Has officially overturned Roe versus Wade and then 50 years of federal abortion, right? And wow, on top of the that, which means that half with the United States is expected to go into this horrible, Middle Ages Dark World, where women are allowed Choice over their own body. So I and luckily, at least for the three of us. I don't, we don't live in those States, right? No You're right. All right. So I guess we chose well and I'm sorry for everyone else. Slash we didn't choose what I was born. Well, you know, like I didn't choose yeah, to grow up in the Northeast but I'm here. Hmm true but you could, I moved around Emma. I live in different cities just saying that where you start off impacts where you Branch out to Well, I'm gonna say officially to all of our fans in all these horrible states that come to, you can come to live in Maine. I'll go to the beach with you. It'll be nice. We can bring a book. We'll just chill together. We don't have to talk. We can just it's fun. One of my favorite things is taking a nap on the beach and you're really hyper fixated on a nap in the sun today. Well, what else you got? Is there anything better than napping on the beach when you like after playing in the water for a while and then listening to the way. Okay. All right. that's my first story unfortunately, as is already pointed out of the news just dropped, so Number two, Activision Blizzard shareholders. This is maybe a little bit of good news. They voted. Yes on a proposal for report. On sexual abuse and harassment activation. I mean it's not good news that they had to do this but it shows the potential power of stakeholders and shareholders that we don't have to just sit by and let these companies. Do bad things. We can actually try to affect the companies and maybe this will happen with. We, I know we talked about this, a few weeks ago, there are a lot of proposals. Now, going to come about about the issue of abortion and variety manifestations. So let's hope all those past two but that's the second story of the week. Activision Blizzard shareholders. Okay. Okay. You guys, you guys look completely out of it. I'm waiting to go through lives. So we talked about, okay now. Okay, next next, Emma talked a little about this earlier Amazon could run out of workers. That's the third. Which is like, yes, which I think it's this is not just an Amazon issue. And this is another thing we've talked about for a while now which is it's a human capital issue, I guess. And I guess it points to. What is the future of of these low wage jobs? What is the future in general of Humanity, right? Like what are as the population grows. As the world moves into the metaverse, what will happen to these types of jobs? What is going to happen to workers? I have no idea. I have no idea. They're gonna get replaced by roombas. True. A fourth story of the week. Oh, at an Apple Store. Where is this? DC actually don't know, they vote DC to Maryland. Apple Store, Maryland, Apple Store workers vote to form. First US Union, Seems like a big deal to me. Yeah, I'm gonna say it is exciting. Let's see where that goes. And the finally. This one, I like this one. The headline is Biden, Pond Chevron CEO. So here's the story. During a briefing, this week Bloomberg asked by Biden. Said to Biden, Chevron CEO, Mike Wirth said that your Administration has largely criticized the oil and gas industry and at times of vilified it. And not the administration need to take a change in approach in order to make progress on reducing Energy prices. And to increase Supply. Do you have a reaction to that sir and President, Biden said, yeah, he's mildly sensitive. I didn't know they'd get their feelings hurt that quickly, so, This this one fits right into our world. I mean, we don't usually I don't even actually remember that we've ever had a president that talked to CEOs that way. In fact, I don't I know a lot of people are down on by. I'm not actually, I'm not one of those people actually like Biden, but you guys can scoff at me, but I don't think we've ever had a president. Talked this way to our CEO's. I really don't. I think we have this. What? I think we need more of this. I think we do too. I think and I think that and I know like maybe it's a weird craft way to get at the issue. You know, Biden's coming up an old school, dude. Old school kind of slightly Macho Catholic, man, kind of. So he's kind of, it's kind of a weird way to get this issue, but the heart of what he's saying to me is Is Ring's, true? Which is Why do we have to listen to these these idiots here? What are we doing? Like why are we beholding to them? Yeah, the main thing I have to say about this at this moment, which is that I don't get to correct Damien on grammar or pronunciation very much. So, this is a very, this is very sweet for me that I get to tell Damien that it is not Biden, ponds, Chevron CEO. Oh, yeah, actually didn't know this. Yeah, is Biden's. Yeah, you got poked. Yeah, actually actually knew that, but I, I was reading too quickly because it obviously. Yeah, you're, it wouldn't make sense the pawn. It's, it's a play on. It's a play on owning somehow, you found him, but that's my poor reading skills, you know, somebody's gonna have to explain this to me later. Do that? No, we have time. I'm done with my segment and I have two and a half minutes to spare. Explain. Now if you want it just You get honed, it's like all like you got home. It's like someone really got your ass. You know. Yeah. It's like I've never heard in my mind. I think it comes from basketball. I remember as a kid. So you go own like when someone like playing like one-on-one or something, someone blew by you go owned. I know. Yeah. So this is, that's where comes from right, I think so, I don't quite know the etymology of the word poem AKA pwns. Well, we'll find out for you at a different time. Yeah, for next week. So there is those are my stories of the week. Anyone want to weigh in? Ah to a steam boaters, Ari and Emma the first story. He said, I don't know how there's anything else. Could be a story. I really like, we knew this was coming but now. Yeah, it's not the notification also. Yeah, right. Yeah, it makes me wonder like What are people gonna? Organize, how are they gonna get their people to organize? Now I guess the voting booth. I mean, this is good. No, no. I'm saying they got abortion. Overturn? Did? Yeah, great. I feel like that issue alone. Mobilized so many people to go to the polls so that they could have eventually get abortion over here right now. What now what? Oh, there's so many other things to hate on Ari. I, you know, I mean, there's, it's time to get it, just everyone, a mandatory gun classes or whatever they want. That's gonna say or if you're not a white man, I don't know then we can just we can hate a white Christian man. Sorry we can we can hate on pretty much every group so there's a lot to vote. You know, the Second Amendment in this, I feel like are the two biggest things that they, they used for advertising and mobilizing and by getting it done. I think it's gonna backfire. All right. Well, I hope you're right. I mean, they're already, they're already. I saw some stats yesterday about the senate race in Pennsylvania and figuring in the effect of women. Going to the going to the polls and voting with abortion being the number one issue there is does something to be a dramatic shift toward the Democratic opponent because of that very thing. So we are right. Yeah, I agree with Ari. It has to be Ruby. Wade, getting overturned, the certification like, literally 32 minutes ago and I just there's nothing else. There's nothing else that can compete. Thanks for ruining my story the week because I think we already I think this already one story that week when we first heard it was gonna happen. So now it's a repeat. Yeah, I'm blaming both of you because although there is a there is actually sort of a fascinating overlap with the business World here because and what I'm sure we're going to talk about this. A lot in the future is that, you know, what is the effect of the workers in these states? What are how our Corporation is going to react? What are shareholders going to ask from them? Will there be You know, we'll we'll offices move will headquarters move will work? Will there be a worker shift? You know, there's a lot of things that could come of this. So yeah, I really can't imagine that happening. Not at all except for the small portion of the population. That's just like, I will never live in one of those States. I think most other people will either make so much money that they don't care. Because it could always leave the state to do whatever they want, right? Or they don't have Choice Financial Aid or they feel like they don't have a choice but to remain wherever they are. Well, just don't know how this will actually affect. Workers, in terms of. Taking one job over the other or moving because of a thing. Well, we'll see because I I didn't sales for was it sales force or running the head? Offered like a real location cost like a benefit to help people even so if a corporation has multiple offices already and you're being and you're being offered a benefit of like a relocation benefit, I don't, you might be wrong. I think you might see young people, especially maybe who aren't taking advantage of that. I feel like the companies that would offer the type of benefit. Is for workers that are already making a certain you know, amount of money that could. Easily get another job and move. I don't know, this isn't yeah, I don't know. I, I think we might see, I don't know that it'll be a dramatic shift, but I think we're definitely. I think it's not like these states, haven't had other crappy policies, right? Like and people are still moving there even though they have such crappy policies and crappy politicians fighting for crappy things like, Arming teachers. Like, this isn't this sucks, but In the states where this will be the worst. It's been bad forever, right? Like Bottom ranking of education and yeah but whatever else this might be a particular trigger I would think, I don't know. I I could you're right but this is a dramatic. Turn of events, so I don't know, I don't know. I, I want to, I hope you're wrong in a sense because I hope this does lead to, like, a bit of a shift. I agree. Yeah, I agree. Yeah. Anyway, that's okay. So, that's it. That's the story of the week because you both Ended it Ari. I hate to put this burden on you right now. But can you please go to good list of the week and potentially make us feel a tiny bit better? Yeah, a little scared, sometimes. Ari picks things that when you really dig in, they're all so pressing, but come on. All right. Okay, here we go. We'll start out with Bumble none other than texas-based Bumble, right? Texas, how was Bumble in Texas? Okay go ahead there an Austin address. All right, awesome is not really tired, you know, Austin is the next like Tech Hub or whatever. but, Dating and social networking at Bumble, they had signed 50, female college athletes to name image and likeness deals and I L deals. I didn't even know that was a thing until I read about this. This is to honor the 50th anniversary of Title, Nine. God, this is all just sounds so ridiculous. She's already cropping on it. Yeah. but title line, increased participation of women, in Collegiate Athletics, from 15% to 44% and I mean, it's everybody knows that female athletes, professional female athletes. They're Collegiate, female athletes, get as much attention deals or money. Well now that the NCAA has been the rules so that they can start getting money at the Collegiate level. You know, I think this is a really great way to put despite Spotlight on female athletes. Yay. Good job bumble Do you really believe that? Yay. Good job bumble. Okay. Leave 50 enough, I don't even know them. I'm doing the math in my head. Could we have, could they have some more than 50 is that number seems small to you? Or am I just being cynical here and you're just being cynical? I mean, I don't know. Okay, what 500? They are. Do they need 500 spoke to people? That's a lot of spokespeople. Wait are they don't know? It's name images like they're random, background ambassadors, whatever. And Yeah. Why not share some money? Throw it around. Come on, I don't know. I mean, 500, I must call it College. Athletes that. Yes. There are the superstars, right? So they signed the female superstars, I feel like, well, open it up, like, open up the different sports. They don't have to be super like, you know, we could, I could, I could think of 15 people on crew right now that we could come on, crude, give them. Can you? I cannot name more than I can't name them because they, because they swallow female sports like this, they don't promote them. That's why we, you can't name them. I can only name a female Collegiate basketball players, because I'm a UConn, girl. Yeah. Well basketball. Yeah, that's the only one that gets a little bit. Yeah, girl, paid page backers. Yeah, page. She is not one of the 25 other brand deals already. Big Under Armour. Yeah, yeah moving on thanks, I don't know. I think it's cool that, you know, It's not getting a chance. What more? It's not bad. All right I want more ESPN. I'm talking to you ESPN. Yeah whatever feel ashamed. Come on, stop it. Yeah, and Bumble is trying to get, you know? They're they're good. The 25 that they announced come from all over the country from historically black universities and a bunch of different types of sports because female Collegiate athletes. It's also like racial minorities are not are underrepresented. Obviously, most of the women that play sports in college are white. Oh really? Yeah. Did none of that but you but you watch basketball more, which is not as obvious, right? So, That there's gonna act anyway. Number two, number two. FDA orders Jewel, labs to remove products from the US market. The big one because I was just talking my, my teen. I have a teen. There's a team in my house teen a teen, girl, I would talk to her friends last night. Well, we're talking about this and I, I'm curious. I don't think I had enough information. So, I I'm, I want to hear. We have to say about this. Go ahead. Okay. Well, actually there's a lot. Okay, good. so, I didn't know any well, I didn't know all of this, but prior to 2016 e-cigarettes were not regulated by the FDA. They did not have the power to regulate this products. It took until 2019 for the FDA to begin to act on regulating e-cigarettes. In 2019. They said, hey if you want to continue to sell e-cigarettes because they were already in the market, you need to apply for you or you need to submit an application. It took them. two and a half years, a little bit of July because of the pandemic too, but for them to go through All the applications applications and reject Drew Labs applications. And they said they were rejected. The rejected it, because it lacked sufficient evidence regarding the toxicological profile of the products in order to demonstrate that marketing of the products would be appropriate for the protection of Public Health, okay, these products have been Sold for years now, sure. Like it's crazy. And finally yeah they are removing or they're banning them. Hopefully actually removes them from the market. Well, from a legal Market Yes, as you know, these e-cigarettes a couple years ago, there were all over the news for The Vaping epidemic in high schools and middle schools Nationwide. Okay, I don't know about the other one of you know, but so this is only the, so all Trio, the company all Trio, the backup company makes these Jewel owns jewels In there. So they're only Banning just one product from one company. They're not banning e-cigarettes. This one thing, does this really affect the market? Every year. Company has to submit their e-cigarette. Report. Like, Reports right? Their lab testing things so there are other. So there are still several other e-cigarette products on the market. They're just eliminating from Jewel, that's it. The ones that are still on the market, me the health standard set by the FDA. Okay. And doesn't sound or not flavored? Okay, like how they used to be flavor? I see. Is that completely banned. Am I? You don't seem very moved by this one. This makes a difference. I think this is good. I mean And Julie's the most popular one. Yeah. Not according to the teens in my, in my living room. I'm gonna be. Wow. What is Jewel for old people? Yeah, it sounded like there's something else that people use that. Yeah. Jewel is like not the thing but again I don't. I'm like a little bit out of it here. I don't really know. This is like an area of product. I know nothing about so, you think this will have a Could have an impact like it could have a positive impact on the health of specialty of teens. So what were you thinking are you? That's why you included this Yeah, I think so. Okay. I hope. they're Standards get higher and they can ban more products. I don't companies. How about that? Okay, with that me. Make them all. Make all the teens go underground. For their ill. It's fine with me. Yeah. All right, and last but not least, I picked this one because it's your neck of the woods. Cool Chipotle restaurant in Maine. Yeah, comes chains. First to file for you. Where is that? You know, it was Augusta okay. The capital of Maine. Yeah. Yeah, they filed for a petition for uni election on Wednesday. And the unit for an independent Union. To be called Chipotle United, nice, I like it. Can I tell you something? I actually have a little bit weird. Oddly, have some background in this because, you know, Maine is so main is. So ridiculously small, is you are you but my one of my, I have, you know, one of my text chains with some friends. We talk about Chipotle a lot. I don't know why there's one dude. So delicious. Because one, dude, cauliflower, right? But Brian set tells me that the Augusta Chipotle is a mess. Like he never knows when it's gonna be open, it's always under staff. So maybe this little even just that chipotle, okay? I could say that about the three Chipotle's around me and believe me. I know I'm a Chipotle store. So, let me just say this, maybe this will be maybe this will, this can demonstrate if they, if they get the union there, the workers come back. They get better pay. The benefits and the store in Augusta Maine stays open regularly and maybe this will be proof of the the positive impact of unions, right? Because again I've heard nothing but complaints about that store so maybe this could turn things around. Right. Like what they're demanding for okay. Safe adequate Staffing at their store. What is that? So much to ask? For know, also, what all the customers want because they want A Chipotle they can rely on. Is that so much to ask for? Yeah. And can I also add to that the Chipotle in Portland, by the back Cove, clean up your patio. I I'm sick of these liquids all over the place. Come on, just clean it up. You should go there and yell at you. All right, that's it. All right. Um, I'm gonna go first, only because I know my answer immediately because it's obvious, that's anything to do with Maine and unions. It's an automatic win for me. So, I'm just going right? To to Chipotle Union and I'm done. I'm done voting. Yeah, I am gonna agree with Damien. I think it's the Chipotle Union in Maine mostly because a lot today. If it lifted my spirits like an inch for whatever, that's the one that made my depressed little heart single tiny little note in there like the smallest violin. I was like, oh the main and Union, or the main in Union, the Union in Maine to pull a. Yeah, why not? Yeah. So yes. All right, that all the way. All right. Well we're agreeing a lot this week which is good. So again I'm ready to my Bumble one just because I don't mind I don't mind the Bumble one. I just like I just want more. I just like I I just Love here, always. Yeah, so yeah. Next week, give us Chobani. All right, moving on. We do it. We don't have any fence. Yeah, this week. Sorry Greg. We love you sadness. We had to do better here. Let's move on. As holy as the week. I'm gonna step in for Matt. I really played this straight. I know, Matt always is, you know, he's very clever, he's ivy league educated but I I just went and found stories where I just thought that people are the or the story involved were assholes. And I just, I just gonna very plainly list them out for you. And so we do it Forward. Okay, rapid fire? Yeah, rapid fire. First of all Amazon, we talked about this yesterday, the three of us, Amazon demonstrates, Alexa mimicking, the voice of a deceased relative. I mean, the more I think about this, the more trouble I am in trouble. So I'm calling Amazon and Alexa assholes for this first, okay. Second Story, Probably the biggest ass hole and there are God there are a lot of them. I mean really, the sports world. I mean I'm I'm really trying to like Gradually quit, the sports role in general. I still hold on to the NBA, I still love. I love me the commissioner there, I love me the half the coaches are black, but it's tough but probably the biggest asshole owner and sports right now. Is this guy Washington commanders owner, Dan Snyder? He and this, you know, this is not the first time he could have appeared in this column. But what's going on this week? Is that a house oversight committee found that Daniel Snyder interfered with sexual harassment investigation. And remember, he's refusing to testify. He's refusing to come and testify before the Congress, which I didn't even really know was a thing. Like I we've gotten to this point where you just Congress asks you to testify and you just say no, you just don't go, it's crazy to me. Yeah, it is. Yeah but that's that's the second asshole. I mean, this guy is just guy is just sucks constantly. I, you know, it's like this is the guy that also ruined Six Flags, is that right? I was at a Six Flags at 10:00 age. How did he ruin it? Like he made it go bankrupt. It was having financial problems. And he was like, oh, fix all the problems. And he took, he took it over well. You know what? Yeah, and then he made it worse. You know, I'm not unhappy about that because I once went to a Six Flags in Springfield Massachusetts and I, it was I hated it, true. It was hot, it was miserable. It was teeming with people here was this is probably under four years ago. I don't know, three or four years, I didn't know that Ari health, for Six Flags. This is excellent news. The thrill seeker. I'm a thrill seeker. Lovely. Uh, moving on. Why is my timer stopping while you were talking about six months? No, it's fine. It's fine, moving on. Oh, here's the industry. We don't like ever talked about which you know I find it weird in general that the poor in Industry, right? Like probably one of the most lucrative entertainment I do. We call it entertainment. I don't even know what it is. Industries in the world. We never talked about it like the business news. I mean you can you can back me up on this. We how many different Publications do we look at? Like 80? How many do we? I couldn't possibly even tell like it's so many. I don't know. The answer to that question. We get thousands of stories. Daily. Maybe I don't know. I mean definitely weekly from over 100 different Publications. They never talk about this industry. I didn't even know. There was a company is a company called mine geek. Out of Luxembourg at owned several Porn sites. It's like, we don't even know this. I just kind of just blows my mind that like somehow they because people are so embarrassed about this topic or shamed or a combination. That they can't even talk about. Anyway, there's actually news out of this area news that we would normally report because it involves the resignation of a CEO and a CEO. This is a PornHub CEO and CEO although I guess there's CEO and CEO of mine geek, I don't really know what's going on here. That's the parent company of PornHub. They resigned this week. According to a report from variety for based on a story from the New Yorker that found graphic. Reports of pornographic videos of women and girls posted with the consent and that these videos remain in the site for years. So this is a pretty big as far as CEO Scandal goes. This is a pretty, this is pretty big. I mean, this is Pretty horrible in every direction you think of as far as far as assholes of the week go so that's CEO for Ross and tune in CEO David to Silo mine geek and what's with Luxembourg is it because Luxembourg is a tax Haven. Is this, why is this? I was just about to ask like do they also get to escape some of the like more stringent EU? Like internet. I think. So, your Luxembourg is a strange country actually country. I've never been to and kind of want to go to because I'm not actually lived there when she was a kid for like, eight months. Yeah. Wow, I remember well working at msci. I remember this was one of these bizarre tax Haven countries. That doesn't. It's like not even really a part of Europe, like it. It's just a strange entity. But I guess it doesn't surprise me that porn. Companies would hide there but I I don't know. I I want to look more into this. I want to see if this I want to start covering this industry more in general because I think it's kind of a shame that we never talked about it and and shame on, you Luxembourg, despite what Matt thinks for hiding. All the all the dirty in the world. Stop hiding dirty. Yeah. All Right, Moving On, Moving. Number four. As always the week. Oh Meta, Meta back in the asshole, call him Meta promises. We I love when meta promises meta promises the Department of Justice, it will build a new ad targeting algorithm, that does not. Discriminate against people, that's their problems. I'm serious. I'm serious too. So they were using data based on race sex and a lot more to to like Target people at advertise to in the doj is saying, stop it and met his promising. Emma, their promising. Like do they just Self-awareness. I don't know. Well you talking about a company that is controlled completely by a megalomaniac College Dropout. Yeah so a company just be so far up its butthole. Well you see 56% by Mark Zuckerberg? Yes it's a it's a man-child, it's a man child. and finally, I look, I feel like we always have to include Elon Musk for for Giggles because this is because there's just so many stories every week that's sort of point to him as being like a noxious person. So I picked this one, Elon musk's child seeks name change to sever ties with Father. Like I'm not picking this to make fun of Elon, but look, we do. We talk a lot about CEOs on this show at this company and It what, what larger symbol of a, of a CEO that shareholders and stakeholders should be aware of should should consider a risk to the long-term operations of your company. That even their children are have nothing to do. I'm serious. I should think I'm making a joke. Yes, I know you think I'm joking. I'm not joking. I'm actually literally not joking. I'm not. Yeah, I'm yeah. There you go. Those are my assholes there. Wow. You know, you can complain about your family, all you want but your dad's not you on. Yeah, I can go first, if that's okay. Go. Okay. Yeah. Um, the Elon Musk child severing ties thing. I think is tragic. Not as holy even though Elon is an asshole. I feel bad for the child in that scenario, which seems to be the focus of the headline. The Meta, promising the doj about the new ad targeting algorithm is just like, I can't think about this one for too long and maybe if I thought about it for long enough this would be my asshole. But I can't, I can't, they should hand out probably, they should I like that and then the dance Schneider stuff is a strong Contender. I don't think that the Alexa think they Alexa think, scares me more than I look at that. And I'm like, you're an asshole about it. I'm just genuinely terrified of all the Deep fakes and fraud, that is going to come out of this. And also weird, you know, evolving relationship with death and mortality. And like that's a whole complicated thing too. And I can't think about it. I'm already spiraling. So I am going to Go with but despite Dan Schneider being a pretty strong Contender and the new meta algorithm, I'm going PornHub because there's just nothing more like an asshole than proliferating non-consensual sex on film. So I don't underage girls, no less. So yeah, that's what I'm doing. Yeah, it doesn't get much worse than that Ari. I was gonna pick two three again. That in the Supreme Court, we're all feeling very fragile. Today, we have to agree. I also think what it proves is that is that it's Matt, that introduces conflict into everyone's world. See without match presents. We can all just get along but he wherever he is, he introduces a bit of Thunder, a bit of lightning, a bit of conflict. That's just his nature. He just brings. He brings a thunder, all right, that's it. Are brings a jazz hands asshole the week, PornHub, the resignation of CEO. Mine geek. See you don't see your monkey. All right. How to talk? You're taking us to the week. Emma lurking. Go ahead. Go. Okay. I feel like some bitching is sort of what we need right now, so I'm, I'm actually pretty happy to end on this. Yeah. All right. Here's irritating us to the week. Number one. Jay-Z and Jack Dorsey unveiled Bitcoin Academy for Brooklyn public housing residents. I think that this is a pretty solid one on sleep. So yeah, we talked about this a little bit earlier this week. Jay-Z and Jack Dorsey are funding Bitcoin, education classes for current residents of the public housing complex that Jay-Z grew up in. They have, I think this is great. You would, because you're because you're a creeper, so, First of all, the basic, you know, the Bare Bones, the irritation of this headline, is the fact that instead of like, giving them money for child care, or improvements to the public housing, complex, or any number of actually useful things, right? When we're about to enter a recession, nope, they're not gonna do they are going to instead give them lessons on crypto that they can invest their money in with money. They don't have because we're about to be in a recession. And the average household income for public. Housing residents in New York City is 24,000 and dollars and change. Oh, the whole house for the whole family household income. Yes, But the average public housing resident in New York City income. So, and you're being kind, you're seeing lessons on crypto but really it's lessons on like gambling, lessons are Merkley, murky, gamble, murky, gambling, that. And also we're at a point where crypto is currently in the middle of crashing, so they are actively advertising. That residents of public housing complexes who have a low average household income to invest in something that is tanking. It. Yeah, they're trying to get them in there. Well, good luck. Sorry. Well bitcoin's, currently trading at 20,000 down from over 50,000. When is the right time are, is it down to like 5000 when should they get in? Like at 12,000, the Cherry The cherry on top of this story is the fact that I found a tweet from a man or from a person who lives in this complex and he said, this is how Jay-Z's Bitcoin Academy is being distributed in Marcy, peas, which is Marcy is the name of the housing complex, just throwing it in a Lobby, LOL, financial literacy, and quotation marks and it is a picture. Oh, it is a picture of the flyers for the Bitcoin Academy just littered on the floor of the apartment complex. Oh yeah, not a very clean looking complex too. I'll give it that. Yeah, like they could use it could use some stuff that is not the fucking Bitcoin Academy. Sorry getting me. Riled up. All right, moving on. That's, that's a good one. I think, number two, I like it. I like when I'm a swears more than anything, I thought Jack Dorsey could do no wrong, Damien know, I'm, I've been out on him for. I, I did have a crush on him back in the day, but but this whole like the Elon Musk love the like you The, the just being in square, I don't get blocked and I don't get or care about that the crypto like I'm just yeah. All right. The whole Twitter can run itself, doesn't need a CEO. Like he's that's clearly like a lie. We all know it and he just moving on number two Redfin, Executives got bonuses and huge compensation packages on the same day that the company announced major layoffs. How is that legal? We talked about this one all. So earlier this week, I feel like How is that legal? So here I'm that's the headline writer. That's not that's not that's not me. That is the headline writer unusually. So I'm gonna start off with a little bit of context from the email that the CEO sent to the entire company upon announcing the layoffs and it starts off with ah, Redfin comma A h Redfin. Comma that is how he started off this letter, to the CEO of the company. He also seems to portray in adoration for the word. Heck in his letter, because in the same paragraph, he has this, these two sentences. A layoff is always an awful shock especially when we said we'd go through, heck to avoid one. And then he said if falling from 97 dollars per share to eight dollars doesn't put a company through heck I don't know what does I don't know why a person who starts off an email to the entire company that they run with all Redfin is upset about using hell. Instead of heck, that was just a personal call out there. And then he also says he made an obnoxious call to make more money to the employees that they're not laying off by saying, we owe it to everyone who has invested your time or treasure in this company to become profitable and then very profitable. So Yeah. How does that help? Yeah, has the help and a great question. Um so this the reason that this is a problem is because the red finch Harold holders voted yes on sale on the exact same day that this email was sent in. The layoffs were had and executive are going to be making anywhere between two and three million dollars except for the CEO. Interestingly enough who was paid $299,000 dollars in total compensation last year by choice. Very irritating Clean Cuts simple. Why does that happen? It is very annoying. Number three. You knowing, is that is just how clickbaity the internet is, because I noticed that when you click on that article, they dropped the, how was that legal from the actual headline in the Dare, they good call out the, how was that legal just to pull in Doppler? Truly, they did it. They reeled my ass and They did. They ran number three. Mark Zuckerberg is more interested in the metaverse than in election. Integrity report says the only annoying thing about this headline is that it was written no shit. I don't know why this is breaking news. The whole the Articles referencing the fact that four meta employees went to New York Times And basically said that Zuckerberg was not involved in the election misinformation operations and that everyone working on. It was reporting. Basically exclusively to Nick Clegg. Who is a recent? So but I just the fact that anyone has it in their brain that Mark Zuckerberg cares at all about elections information. If anything, he would encourage it for monetary purposes. I don't understand this headline really annoyed me and yeah, that's it. Okay. And how did he end up being keep going? He Sheryl Sandberg can't be the Escape going anymore. Go ahead. And this is yours. Yeah. Because I believe that Nick Clay is replacing Charles. Hamburger CFO, right? Whoa, no. You're wrong on so many different levels. Yeah. Oh, right. She was He is the technically his title as the president for Global Affairs. Like he's kind of like the the shapeshifting regulation, dude. He's like he's looking how to like, how to avoid. Legality in different jurisdictions. You know what I mean? He's become sort of a spokesperson he type like he's one of the people that's been commenting on stuff, more recently and Zac has been taking a step back and not been saying as much stuff to the public and Nick like sort of felt his shoes in that sense. Yeah, he he comes from British Perlman. Yeah. Got the gift of spin. He's like the Spin The Meta, spin doctor law of voice. Yeah, a whole and he's got the whole weird political career accent and I think even credit during his political career, I'm pretty sure that he had some not nice things to say about Facebook and then he got hired. So we're really confused on that one. Oh, before we vote a little, a little bit of background on Redfin Redfin is like this is a, it's a bit of an outlier 70%, at least I can't do the math in my head. I'm not that smart about 70% of the company is owned by institutional investors including, you know, BlackRock Vanguard Morgan Stanley. So that's who approved. CEO pay Emma, it wasn't like normal people. I mean this again, like I don't know why. This company is, it has so much such a heavy institutional ownership maybe because they've been sucking and more. They have just sell more and more. I don't know what's going on but that's who approved. CEO pay their red. Why would they approve that? Because they they pretty much approve 90 plus percent of anything. That's pro-management. That's just sort of what they do, what they've always done. That's what I mean. That's so Yeah. All right. Who has the thought he has a vote. You go first. All right. Yeah. Though. Redfin one is just so yeah. It's irritating. And Redfin? What? That was beautiful. Oh yeah, these people have already. Don't these people have somebody like the right things for them. One would think. Maybe that person got laid off too. Excellent point. No, because they would have they would have written it before they got laid off, right. Well, if you were getting laid off, are you really Gonna Stand sit there and like, no, I'm not you because it said, he said, it was a shock, he'll as a CEO, that's concerning to you. A bit more. So Arias your vote Redfin, a bit more. I learned about Redfin, well, or he was talking was that actually the CEO took home about 10 million dollars last year in option Awards. So he bit misleading his niece, this is the problem with with pay from his SEC filings in general, is that That table doesn't actually it tells you what they were awarded in compensation in the previous year, but doesn't necessarily tell you what the CEO actually took home because he he exercised options based on prior Year award, the whole thing is a mess. It's a messed up system. Msci is try to solve this system by by having different conventions of CEO, but even that's a mess because no one knows what the hell are talking about, right? So hats off for trying irritating. Yeah, the whole thing is irritating. Okay, so I'm gonna go, I gotta go, I can't agree with you already that I absolutely have to go with. I know you were like a creepy fan of crypto. You, you got some like Block Chain, love what? I don't fully understand but to correct things to correct myself. Bitcoin actually had a high of 67,000 dollars, not that long ago, it's down to 20,000 dollars. I don't really know what any of that means. But this seems like Just that picture alone of it. Looks like an elevator but the mercy projects, just that picture alone makes, yeah, I was hoping that the picture wasn't emphasized, the effect. Yeah, and I look, you gotta find this tweet and retweet it. Oh yeah, sure. And I can't I'm not gonna crap on financial literacy classes for people. Yeah, you're not crappy on financial literacy. What is your crapping on bitcoin? Advertisement classes? I am because I don't really know what's going on here. That's the thing is like I it's called a Bitcoin economy but then they're calling them financial literacy courses. So hopefully like the first course is don't invest in Bitcoin. Like, if that's the, if that's what's happening. I think it's good. You feel better? The article was littered with quotes from residents being like, what the fuck is this? So suck. Yeah, yeah. No, it's terrible. The terrible look, I two billionaires coming in to one of the saddest projects in all of New York City and pushing this shit is terrible Predator. So awful, definitely the most irritating to me, which means am I gonna break the tie? I think, Well, we know it's gonna pay. I think I am gonna go. Get over yourself. Now, everything's a competition are just, it is really hard. I think that these are extremely comparable. I think it's not. I am gonna go with Bitcoin Academy just because I think that it has a little special of like a fuck you to people who are struggling to make ends meet. So it's ugly, it's ugly, ugly. Ugly timing. I mean, and again, they probably couldn't have known this because they, I'm sure there's a Academy. He has been in process for a while, but to coincide with this heavy drop, although they should have known, they should have known that Bitcoin would probably fall off a ledge soon, but it the coincide with this ridiculous drop in price is just, yeah, more. All the ludicrous. Holy, all right. That's your, your wonder. I really do wonder what the academy is about to show up? I yeah, I legitimately think it is. More tech-oriented. Script writing oriented which I think is great. Yeah. Because why wouldn't Jay-Z and Jack Dorsey, take care of people, that's their right because most most billionaire men are nurturing not like yeah. You know, like to Emma's point the residents being like, what in the world, I I did expect more from Daisy to like why why read the room better? Why, why do you expect more? Because his PR people are so good at making me believe that he's so real in the know. Okay yeah this is why I only 5% of S&P 500 is led by women because we fall for this, All right, moving on. Damn, let's get out of here, Arias places to go my fault. So Story the week, Supreme Court, overturning Rover versus Wade, I again, hey, hey Google. So the week a Chipotle in Maine is trying to unionize asshole a week CEO and CEO mindgeek irritating this week, Jay Z Jack Dorsey Bitcoin Academy at a project in Brooklyn. And oh before we get out of here, who won the week, anyone I can go. Stand. Like, the way that sounds he's Um, I think that the New York Times won the week for me, because the New York Times who's notifications have hold more power over my emotions than most people in my actual life. So thank you, New York Times for control in my life with your notifications and horrible rovi. Wait over to say about One thing turn this off, Emma. Don't think I want to say to New York Times is make the world a little harder. It's too easy. Damn, I know I was spelling bee fan myself. That's all I have to my I again, I hate to say this but the winners of my week are women, controlling men? And creepy, mentally ill, religious nuts. Those are Myers of the week. Congratulations prediction. We are. He's a pretty good. Yeah. What do you have? Are you go? I think that chipotle is going to be the next Starbucks with the whole I agree. Yeah. Why not agree? Why not, you're right. I mean, really, and I'm so excited from everything I hear Chipotle really is like, sort of. We so Starbucks is by far America's most popular drug? I think Chipotle might be a close second, the way people Revere that place. Oh, right now, are a special breed. Oh, look how relaxed and calm she got. When I said she just like, melted into match, discussing chair, she loves traveling, and I know, Matt would be like, oh, you know, Matt is a is a certain like it too, Matt. It's actually a certified full. I actually, when I was over his house last, I was going through his drawers and I saw, he has a certificate, he's a certified. You know that? Yeah. All right. I'll go next to my predictions because it I have a similar company in mind Starbucks. You know, I've been first, I predicted that Melody Hobson would become CEO, I'm still not completely off of that idea. Emma, you announced yesterday that that Starbucks looks like it's gonna turn to a board member to be this essentially yo Um and of course, mellody Hobson chair of the board. She does have a CEO job somewhere else aerial Investments. But so I want to still stick with my choices melodies the next CEO of Starbucks, but I'm gonna put my weight behind Walgreens CEO rosberg. I'm gonna say that Starbucks will be our first S&P 500 company with two black women in charge. That's what I'm gonna go with, all right? um, all right, I think that I'm going to commit an unforgivable act against Brett, Kavanaugh that is my prediction. I don't see that. You see? You just go to all arrested. That's Emma Larkin. Plz plz any lawyers, listening to this. I am not going to do anything to Brett Kavanaugh, but I really, really want to And I mean, if you did I will say this, my prediction is I will visit you in prison. If you do, I we could do our podcast. Well, actually, I would But can it be in the England somewhere? Don't go somewhere creepy. Like yeah, I'll try. I'll do my best. Go to Vermont. Yeah, because more because as this headline yet again, like I, I am really not comfortable leaving. I include New York as part of the Northeast. So, the New England New York. I don't want to go anywhere beyond that. That's my United States. Hello. I'm just saying. I know it's I know I'm a, I'm a wimp. I'm afraid. REI I am I suck but that's it. That's my Us. New England. New York. That's all I'm willing to go. I'm not willing to go anywhere else. That's it. All right. That's it for this week. I believe. Are you guys done? Are you done? Oh, we're done. All right. Are you done done? Yeah. All right, we're done. That was business pants. I am lurking. That was Damian, Ross and already the dating Queen and this was our messy, sort of depressing Friday show, apologies for the news that came in. So, immediately before we did this show, we will be back next week and I believe we will have a mascardi back in our midst as well if I'm not mistaken. Well, we. All right. Well, one of us might fall ill. I think that's going to conference early next week, green bit, Green, Green Bay, Green Bay. All right, so we will have a mattress. Yeah, and we will maybe because he's probably gonna pick up a new submarine. Oh, true. Yeah, no, all of us have to have covid twice before we can all be in the same. I'm not in the same room because we're never in the same room on the same call. Anyway, that's there. We're gonna get out of here now. See you next week. Have a great weekend.
