Hell live. From the Black Rock, Texas Hold'em games closet. It's the ESG Industries. Favorite Or is it only game show the good game? It's definitely only my favorite. That's already sample size of one. The data Queen Jesse the money whisper Matti. The I don't even know what you are. What are you Full of BS board. Saber metrics. He's mad Zuckerberg. Oh, yeah. I'm Larry Fink's. Uber party bus driver have been that before. Is that a rehash joke? There's a little black rock Larry Fink in this, why? Why is there so much Black Rock going on? I don't know. But you, you do like yourself a good black rock joke. It's December, 15th 2022. Let's play. The good game re is on location, so she sounds like she's talking out of a Kleenex. Box. That's why that's usually more than that. Before we get rolling with the good game and I'll describe it after after you say this what were you just watching? That was making you laugh and giggle so much breaking news. I had to tear myself away. For this stupid game show from the Texas Senate subcommittee, who's interviewing? BlackRock and State Street? And I think Fidelity today and guess who got excused from this? The news broke this morning that Vanguard was told they do not need to appear because they hold themselves out of the Net Zero Alliance stabbing got them out of this Texas tweeted to them saying thank you. For pulling out. So this is a conspiracy theory. Know, this is all real. This is actually happening. I was watching the Texas subcommittee and if you want some really deep thoughts, what you should do is watch local subcommittees. Interview International asset managers about the intricacies of data and finance. If you want some really good thought-provoking things like things like the ESG is tearing down America. And wake up and realize that that China doesn't care about the ESG and it was really and this is about jobs and PS China, did you know that China uses for their energy? They don't seem to get any problems from the ESG. This is what I was listening to I am, what exactly is a black rock. Can someone explain to me the best line of questioning was, Dahlia, blast, who's from BlackRock sitting up there, listening to questions that went like this. Miss blast. Can can you tell us? BlackRock is what does BlackRock do? It's an asset manager, sir, it's a publicly traded asset managers, the largest in the world. Okay. Miss blast and asset manager did BlackRock have like, lots of little companies that does the things, or is it like Millions big company that does like how does can Just walk us through how that works. It was, it was in it was in a lesson, Insanity. It was like, I don't Know it made me really happy to watch and it's, this is why I chose the good game today because it's too much depression out there. We got a live in it up, there's a lot of good stuff going on. It looks like in the headline. Okay here's another good game works. I pick headlines that I think are good, make me feel good, seems like the world going the right direction and then I throw them at our steam, pundit to rate them on a score from 0 to 10 whether they're actually good 10 of their actually, good Jessie. I understand that works. Yes, 10 actually good. Say it again, slowly. All right. Show music. Come on, give me something. Oh, that's not game show music. Yeah. But every time I turn it on, look at all right, Jesse, that's music that you play. When men are punching each other in the head, this is music that you play When the text is subcommittee on finances, needing to talk to Black Rock hugues. ESG pugilists. Come on ready. Go ahead. First headline, do this HSB, we have a lot of ESG Center stuff this week. Really a lot of it. I think the Texas Senate subcommittee would enjoy this episode, they'd learn something. I'm actually not a kidding. We should probably send this to them. Let's do it. Here's the first headlight HSBC halts Finance for new oil and gas. Oh that sounds very ESG. Are you kidding? There's no way, Matt can bring this down, this already. You 10 already. Sorry a huge, huge Bank. This is what we need. I said this. Yeah. Like each SBC called Finance for new oil and gas as of 2050. Correct. Yes, this is like immediate. Yes, they're doing that right now. Um, so I actually sent this fact to a friend, a reporter at Bloomberg. HSBC announced it yesterday and it turns out. Florida actually has 113 million dollars in hsbc's Frontier markets fund. So now the question is, does Florida now have to give that money back? Absolutely, get it out of HTC because HSBC is discriminating and they have the woke mind virus. They have to Forfeit it. It just BC is based in London. Is that right? HSBC is Asian London? Yeah, they have Hong Kong headquarters in London headquarters. I think so, it sounds like another Revolutionary War World War starting here. That's what it sounds like to me. Yeah, there's a lot of I saw your stories. There's a lot of Europe in here score. Matt. I am going to give this a seven. It's good one, right? I was gonna give it a 72 because, yeah, I'm skeptical. Okay, I like it. All right. Moving on. Wow, nuclear fusion breakthrough, scientists generate more power than used to create reaction? I don't know if any of you nerds have been. I'm sure you've been keeping up with this story. I love this and the fact that its nuclear fusion and not nuclear fission because when people hear nuclear, they think of, you know, the waste that we don't know what to do with. Well that's vision. This is a 10. I'm going to agree with Ari that it is a 10. However, it does make me happy sad which is my theme for the day because this is like 30 or 40 Years of science. They've been trying to do this for a very very long time. It's eventually endless source of energy and this is a massive breakthrough and getting it to scale. You're probably still 30 years away from right, like actually having a plan you can run 2550. That's what we're waiting for. The point is science. Actually is could save Humanity. And yet. Humanity, increasingly does not believe in science. I'm not sure how to gel those things in my brain, like, oh, this is certain parts, such Humanity, big deal, but I can see a Texas subcommittee in which they say that nuclear fission discriminates against coal right like that, isn't that next? So I'm giving it a 10. But I also am a deep cynic about everything Jesse. He's skeptical about this one. No, I give it a 10 because it's been 60 years and they finally did it. So finally did something 60 years later. Congratulations. I mean that's persistent. So you gotta get your tens going. Are you Biden Administration? Allocates 3.7 billion dollars to carbon removal projects. And let me tell you this infrastructure bill is even popular. In Europe macron. France. Telling all his compatriots that he also they should be building similar projects over that one. He's not awkwardly clapping the French goal against Morocco. The only colonizer beat the colonized. What do you want to point out? That. Um, Morocco, invaded Spain, and they were there for 700 years. So anyway, I think this is wonderful. I think Carver removal projects should go hand in hand with We got to do everything, right? Like if we're gonna save the Earth, we gotta come from all the Angles and 3.7 billion, four. Carbon removal. That's a 10. Oh, good three times in a row from Ari. I'm giving this one a 10 too. Well guys are suckers no way that Matt Matt what. He got same so here's the headline out of an organization called IE fa which is the Institute of energy economics and financial analysis and which they detail how carbon capture Is it has a incredibly long history of deep deep failure and even with sucking terribly. And even when they've managed to do it, they don't know if they could just bury carbon underground and have it not leak back up to the surface carbon removal projects. I would give this a 10 if this was 3.7 billion dollars of trees that they're going to plant in a giant National Park that will be Untouchable by Humanity. You're okay, you're always into this tree plant. I love you more than tree plants. I want to sit under trees but like leaves, I like trees otherwise from your property. After you after you moved in order to admit it in order to admit solar panels on my roof. So, I wouldn't have to use the natural, gas fired plants. So like mushrooms, you know that they can do a whole. Heck of a lot with deep in on mushrooms, I love right now. Two, vaccines two vaccine headlines, more dinners CEO predicts how the biotech's working career back. Sorry in cancer vaccines could transform Healthcare and two Ebola. Vaccines show lasting immune response and studies. So we got some Positive developments out of the vaccine World. Wow, look like, are you start here? Yeah, there aren't fire. I agree. Cancer vaccine, that's insane. Um, it sounds like futuristic, but maybe the future is now, and if people are skeptical, you know, like the covid vaccine and they're like the boo, you Jerk. Can I say the other word that goes you whore. Oh anyway, where Peru Anyway, I think there's a 10 obviously because even the naysayers, it's not like, I don't know, cancer, you can't spread it anyway. Yeah. What do you think? Jesse Moreno just announced positive results for a skin cancer vaccine. Okay, I like this. No, they're gonna make. Something money off of this, that I kind of want to give it like, in like an eighth. Okay. I think disgusting money that I don't like the sound of. Is it like coated with peanut butter or something? No, it's, it's coated with Injustice is what I like it like, diabetes. Damien like tools. Not everybody can access it. It's Damian. Yes, money. Oily. Covering of Injustice. You agree. With our other pundits or does it is an eight? What do you? So, first of all, like these are, these are like, what stage trial are we in for the skin cancer vaccine. And moderna's, this is a story out of Business Insider which means it's not exactly the Journal of scientific. Like, so, number one, know, these are business Centric stories. Yeah, these are publicly because he's developing vaccines. Yeah. How to prepare for a launch, unlike us. And the reason why you're seeing it in business insiders, because they're talking about it, basically is an investment angle. Right. Like and moderna's CEO is predicting on how cancer vaccines are going to work. They didn't say they work, they're predicting how they're going to work. So there's nothing there. The Ebola ones are very real but made by Merck and Johnson and Johnson. So another two large multinational corporation is vaccines, I don't know but I'm hoping someone somewhere I like to think there's like a scientist in a lab run by a government organization who leaves him alone. Not America is making like magic happen. Not just Merck and Johnson and Johnson. I'm going to give this a six as one. I'm going to give this. WOW, six is pretty high from that. All right, we'll see if we can keep it going. All right. Australian startup. 5B gets BP backing us. Right? British Petroleum, BP back in to install solar farms in minutes minutes. Yeah. It's real. It's like the difference of, you know, the old tents where you had to do all the things yourself and then now you just and pops up and you're ready to go to bed on your campus. But for energy, this is amazing. And, you know, I was looking into their, like, how it works. And it's just so simple. And so smart, I give this a 10. Cost you five in a row and what I don't know about this. Why an oil and gas company getting involved with an ESG project. Is this is this okay, money's money? You know, exactly just mind virus They had peanut butter on it or, you know, jelly, it's fine. It's slathered with Injustice. Is that fine too? Everybody else project? Yes, wow. I want to give it a 10, I didn't get to read it because I hit a paywall. So I didn't fact check anything. But with that, it sounds good. Sounds awesome. Here's a quote from the article quote. The product is self is very simple connect so some solar panels with some hinges and then roll it out. Yeah. Right. That was Actually, like I couldn't get over how stupidly simple that is, that's not like, oh, we need like 20 years of like nuclear fission scientists to figure this out. They literally put a hinge on a solar panel and I'm glad you mentioned this hinges in general or or vastly underappreciated under really. They are, they are the joints of our right there. Like, Manufactured joints, we need this. We need this kind of flexibility. There are magic of engineering Ari. That's all you made when you were at Pratt, right? You just, like, just hinges after hinge. I'm gonna, I'm gonna. I'm afraid when BP backs anything but I am, I am gonna give this a nine. Oh, Because the simple solution is usually the solution. No one, everyone overlooks. And if you can roll this out legit and like I saw a picture of it. It's like they have a truck and it's just like they just plop them in the field somewhere and turn it on. Take me a year to turn on my solar panels. Let's see if we can get six in a row. Are you this one? Surprised me McDonald's. Strikes solar deal to power us supply chain. And this is in Texas of all places. What the hell is going on? There is the Senate subcommittee know about this. I mean this, what version of America is this? This sounds terrible. So I think the car version this is amazing. Yes. Oh still gonna eat junk food. But now you know the carbon emissions of the supply chain that got them, they're junk food is Gonna Come From solar power. This is a 10 yes. Saying like you're just tricking me with all these know, this is a real headline. What I think Ari might have just swayed me because I was gonna go down the hole. Well, it still McDonald's. So we just want like more people eating and but I think she's swayed me. They're still gonna eat junk food, so we might as well clean up the supply chain. Wow, that's a certain level of nihilism that even I can't just see what is she sway you to nine. I can't give McDonald's 10 but they get an nine. Matt, um, Yeah. Well do we think Texas will ban McDonalds from Texas now because they're woke is, should they should? Although man don't forget, we talked about this early this week. I think there are also building A seawall in Galveston Galveston, sort of the epicenter of storms out of the gulf. Yeah, despite the fact that nobody seems to believe and clients, but they but they're investing a shit ton of money building, seawalls the currently something 31 billion dollars to build like a 20 foot wall out in the sea. Like forget stopping climate change, we're going to build, we're just gonna wall ourselves off from 31 billion. Is that right? 31 billion is the current number. In the context, we were just praying the bun ministration for allocating 3.7 billion for carbon removal. So imagine if you really moved three, 31 billion of carbon out of the app right here, that would be 31 billion times happier. She would have given it a 30. Here's my question for McDonald's. How big is the McDonald's us supply chain? Because I know the majority of their food. They get majority of their chicken at a Tyson Foods. I know they get the like they get a tremendous amount of sourcing out of China. I think they get their potatoes out of Idaho, so that's something. But are we talking about, like, the whole company? What are we talking about here? I don't know. Okay then I'm giving it a seven because nobody knows anything. All right, well seven still pretty good. I don't like it. I think Ari is like artificially boosting your good mood here. I know it's anything he really should be a five, is what it should. This is one, make it five, it's a five down. I don't care about this. I want to go last. Oh, matches change, of course in his own. This is the first a good gift for the good game. All right, this is a bit of a curveball, but I thought you'd appreciate this because it speaks to your field, you know, you're like a dado wizard. You're you're the data Queen, listen to this, listen to this weird stat people who skipped their covid vaccine Are at higher risk of traffic accidents. According to a new study is this this is incredible unvaccinated. People were 72% more likely to be involved in a severe traffic crash. The nose who were vaccinated what do you think about this? Come on. This is a weird one. Yeah yeah and it can the streak of tens continue just for the now just here. No no. So I you know I you had me down a rabbit hole, I read the entire study at their tables this is what I've been doing for the last 45 minutes. I forgot about the rest of the headlines. I just dug into this one and It just doesn't add up in my opinion. I know it was publishing a journal, that's why I'm struggling with it, right? Doesn't add up the, the risk part for people who skipped covid vaccines. Because the increase risk for dementia for literally, all sorts of things that could be at your, like, you had the option of getting a covid vaccine or not, right. You don't have the option of getting Dementia or not, but all these different factors that you have an option over. They all had a similar increase risk. So it's like What did you actually find here? And it took pedestrians into account. Huh, and if you think of pedestrian and poor people and uneducated people and covid vaccination rates is just, I don't know. I didn't like it. I give this a three. Oh, I, I thought they were just the, the main takeaway was that Dumb people are more likely to hurt themselves on the highways that blanket thing though. Is that Anyone's message. It doesn't help that just doesn't help. It's not helpful. And in this case, I don't think it was real. This is your most impassioned three ever. I love it. Yeah, that was a lot of three right there, though. This is a. That's what the headline wants, you think, right? Like dumb people also get into traffic accidents except Fortune Magazine. You know, when you look up the statistics about who was likely to be vaccinated and who wasn't? Yeah, the people who are most likely to be vaccinated tend to be wealthier, they tend to be white or Asian and they tend to live in like liberal Northeastern or less driving states, no public transportation effectively. What it said is. Yeah, black people and Hispanic people with less money, get into accidents more, I thought, but I thought the study was done in like the whitest part of Canada. I was like, Alberta or something. Am I wrong about that are in which area? I was, Ontario. I thought it was like in the Prairie Provinces and well this is why I'm only reading the headline in which case, then it's not exactly a sample of humanity. Although it did seem to fly, it did seem to imply that the insurance companies were going potentially changed rates of driving based on vaccination status. They implied, that in the subtitle of the article, I don't know. I don't like it either. It's a two, it's just strong case of correlation does not prove. Causation, like cool, you just tore down, the whole ESG industry. How dare you don't? I just don't like it. I think. it's so, I ruined the headlines even like a semblance of truth to it as like I'm like that's what you think about me, then, because I was, All right. I think you were doing that to, to trick us to keep us on our toes. I just love the idea of dumb, people crashing, their cars that you're watching this, this Senate subcommittee hearing. I needed something. Jesse, I needed. You like the idea of dumb people getting run over, Wow. I know, that's a little taking a little far. Most of my friends are pretty stupid, so you're taking it kind of are CVS and Walgreens will pay out more than 10 billion dollars and settlement money for their part. And fueling the opioid epidemic 10 billion to water carbon renewal a lot of carbon, a lot of money. And, you know, if I'm over here, she'd be like that is 0.32 cents per person. Jesse was Emma, that's not Emma lurking over here. The revenue the CVS in Walgreens 10 billion is a lot. This is a oh, he went from the one before an impassioned speech about how the data needs context. She's an impassion speech about I don't care about any data, I just like the big numbers sound 8. when they have to pay, you know, make them pay I never know how to deal with. These are all five, these are tough. These are a lot of these recently. Most of these what most people don't know about. Any of these settlements is often settlements or tax deductible. So the actual cost of the companies is less than the number that the big number that what the stakeholders point of view does it help the actual? Most of this number doesn't go directly to a stakeholder. It's like gets funneled and small amounts and like each stakeholder gets seven dollars and most of it goes to like lawyers who prosecute the cases, most of these are not, they're like It's not Justice. Write 10 billion dollars. Feels like justice in a headline but usually isn't so usually the largest number we've seen for opioid. Yeah this is a big one we covered a lot of these yeah and nothing will ever be just wake me up when there's no opioids. Yeah, so give me a score. Matt, I gave you a five. I don't care. Jesse. I was gonna give it a six because and well. Okay, then I need to give it like a four but I don't I don't think it's very good. It's not supposed to be good. I mean they were it was like supposed to be. I think they wanted like 50 billion dollars in their settling on 10 that is that's 20,000 dollars per person. If every person got exactly like if there was nothing taken out like mattress said, 20,000 dollars for someone's life, no bad. The real bad, the real bad thing that the headline is hiding is that Walgreens bought Rite Aid. And now there's a bunch of empty Rite Aids around. Why what are they gonna do about that right age jobs? Well, come move to manual have to shop at an empty. Rite Aid. All right, all right. Let's see if we can get your 10s coming again, this icon. And I put this in here, this specifically to pad the score. So let's just get back in the tents. But I like to see you tear this one down, Ari with your with your data cleaning, Biden signs, Bill, protecting same-sex and interracial marriage months, after Supreme Court, raised out about marriage and contraception decisions. Come on, 10. Thanks, I think everyone's gonna agree 10. All the Texas subcommittee actually is talking about it right now. They just gave a quote and I think I tape. Yeah. That's oh that's that's cool. That's their work. That was their reaction to that and it came out. This is a like isn't this like a makeup call like when a ref like misses a call and a game? And this is the makeup call for abortion like they didn't. They didn't protect abortion rights in this country and now, they're like scrambling to protect rights that we've had for 30 years, you know. Well, they're doing their job, the lettuce legislative branch is doing now. I mean, like at the cost of 50% of the population, we just, we just we we screwed up that one. So the makeup call is let's make gay marriage like last a little bit longer before the Texas subcommittee starts doing that. It's a 10. It's a 10. It's moving on it. All right, we're going to do with this one. Bank of America expects 10 billion dollars in India green deals in 2023 which is odd. Matt because the Texas Senate subcommittee was just talking about. India does not believe in the ESG scores. Did they just say that they just said that he said China? They said China and Saudi Arabia know they said in India, I have Arabia Saudi Arab. What do you think about this 10 billion number? Let me read that number Ari, this is in 2023, which is in less than 17 days, that's less than 17 days, not by 2023 in 2023. Right. Still, it's impressive. I'm not familiar with the India, green deal. but, You know what? India is though, right? Yo green. I'm not too sure the sounds good. I'm gonna give this an eight. Look I just want I mostly picked it. Yeah, I wanted to prove to the rest of the world that you can do things just like next year. Right. Anyone else? I mean, yeah, I would say it's a good score. I do like that. It's 2023. 10 billion. How far does that go for like the entire country of India? I don't know. India is pretty small. There are a lot of people there, so it'll go. Yeah, exactly what I was thinking. So I'm not skeptical about that, but hey, let's give it an eight. I'm hopeful how much does Bank of America finance? Every year by themselves, do you know the answer? No, but I know roughly, we're talking about a company with a balance sheet in the hundreds of billions of dollars was a financing and this is their expectation. This is an expectation of all financing for the India green deals in 2023, so that's not Bank of America's share. That's Bank of America saying, we expectation 10 billion dollars total of financing for India's green deals. So this is just a blowhard pundit predicting something, a Bank of America. You know what would be really good? If they took that full 10 billion dollars from CVS and Walgreens and put it into the India, green deal, maybe we could just do that. Then we'll double that number because Here, we're looking for 10 billion here and 10 billion there. I'm gonna say, six. That's what I'm gonna say. Moving on the good guys. The good game December 15th 2022. Hopefully our, our numbers in India. Now are going to spike, Matt, because I've talked about India, we don't talk about India enough. That was, I feel like you deserve this. All right. No, that was sorry. You're celebrating Europe strikes deal to tax Imports based on greenhouse gas emissions. This is the first of its kind in the world first tax on the carbon content of imported goods. At least it's gonna make people have to track it and find a way to track it. I don't know how to track this well if you don't figure it out. You're up is out. Sorry. This is a Yes, back in the tile, back on track. There it is. Not like this crowd, loves it more 10s. I like it as a 10 too. Whoa, what is happening right now? That is amazing. I like that. Now it's not just vat that I'm gonna not understand when I go to Europe know but Matt, you're that's where you're wrong. They bake that the V8 into the price, you don't have to do the extra the nonsense you do in America. The price is Includes the vat include but you get on the airplane. And it says, how much did you pay in your European? That's because you're buying in America because they're the messing with your mind. No, I don't know who's it. Buying what? Where I just there they get asked. Like how much did you spend in vat last year? I don't know, I don't care. This is I like to say it's a 10. Oh wow, surprised by that. Okay, three more. Ari. Yeah. This is at a Morning Star. What how dare you Morningstar Friends of the show? Morningstar were you just crazy John Hills and he had a MorningStar? 90% of companies are developing in ESG strategy. Really, wow. Really tell us why? Because, you know, they're like look, we hired a black person or ESG is wonderful. I think it's greenwashing. That's wow. I think it can be highly cynical for our cynical talking about it. This is good. Going to give this a seven. Oh, that's not terrible. What is anybody else way higher than I thought she was going with? That really 90%, I mean we're right in the middle of this culture where the ESG woke data Wars and this is just seemed like, hey, this is how capitalism really is. 90% of them are into it. So screw go, screw yourself. I mean it's do or die, especially with environment, social everything with everything. So yeah, I don't do know, ESG is tearing down America Jessie. I give this A five. I feel like this is like, companies d e. And I statements, and, you know, we just learned that those are the first to go when they hit troubling times. I feel like they're gonna do it now because it's being talked about, and then they're not actually gonna fall through with any of the plans to make an impact. So I'm five depressing. Yeah. Thanks for bringing us down. Yes, she is environmental social and governance, which means 10% of companies said governance sucks. They like, yeah, there's no governance family forums, they just like control companies. That whole thing about, like, managing our company, we're gonna skip that part of our strategy. This year, who was the 10th That's that's should be. Notified. Oh, speaking of the Texas subcommittee on finances is actually got a quote on this headline as well. The true. Yeah that's it. Oh, that's the quote, write down the headline. How does that you feel that every time that's a five. Okay. Moving on, two more. All right, Barclays. Ramps sustainable Finance goal to one trillion dollars by 2030 blah blah blah. oh, This I did break the mold of like 10 billion and they just yeah, really wait for it. Yeah we don't play with trillion very often. I was in 2030 is obviously better than 2015. I feel like we're heading in the right direction here. Where is all of this play money coming from. That's what I wanted to know. Blah, blah, blah. Oh yeah. One chilling so much. I can't my brain can't even wrap my head. Like wow! This is good eight. Yes, it is between 2023 by the end of 2030. So, we've got a seven year time frame here. Yeah. And this is already increase over previously, announced targets. So they're actually, you know, what do we know about targets? People does a company set a Target that they don't think they've already hit. They they receive their targets using the gaming, their targets, Matt? What I'm saying is targets are bulshit targets if you're announcing the target publicly, why are you doing that? You could just financed it, right? You don't have to announce it. What you want is the pr in 2022 or 2023 for something that ostensibly may not ever happen. But if it does happen, you probably know what's going to happen before the date. You've said it for so that you can announce early, we hit our Target early, we're re-upping our Target. It's a PR game. They know they're gonna win this game. You know what? I will say, though, there's probably other men running PR for these banks that are going to jump in on the competition and their egos are gonna get all involved. So if it gets other people other Banks, the men out of other Banks or other Banks into this fighting arena. I'm kind of cool with that like to tell you right now, Right. That I could do better. I will tell you this 100% that happens and what they do to achieve their Target because I I you're back in the day. I actually analyzed this. I had there was an investment Bank who said a Target said they hit their target. And I said what, how did you hit your Target and what they showed me was, they financed a nuclear plant not nuclear. They nuclear plant and they finance like a water utility and they finance like a natural gas something. It was like, the most ridiculous thing that they just, and they said, oh look, we hit it. He didn't all these targets are bulshit. This is a two Targets are bulshit. I don't care about just you just see ya. Finally, December 15th 2022. This one's an honor of the great. I'm alerting.
