Hey, that's all I got hell. Are you? You do the Halo? You're there. Come on, you were more excited. Wow, I like Aries better, coffees already wearing off getting low into her throat. Oh, Kermit thing happen live from your favorite thawing. Glacier. I don't like that word thaw in. It's not easy. Thawing thong. Thawing it's a business pants Friday show here at February 10th Avenue Studios, featuring are the data Queen. Jesse the money Whisperer BS man. Matt Mascari On today's weekly, wrap-up. CEOs, say dumb stuff re likes gross food, Matt hates losers and assorted Super Bowl chatter. Wait, we have to do the Super Bowl. Yeah, of course what time timely news organization. Yeah, for this is this is this is incredibly cogent information for our like three us listeners. You know, nobody cares about your immediately negative attitude. That's correct. No one. Does you ready to get into it? The more, the more quickly we get into it, Matt, the more quickly will be done talking so you can feel better again. All right. Story of the week. I just giggle every time. My list is depressing this week. I feel like I'm channeling Jesse. Here we go. Up first BP, BP vowed to help set the oil and gas industry on a Greener path. But you know, CEO changes mine. CEO Bernard Looney. Who vowed when he was upon being hired ostensibly. It was why he was hired, but it all. So, you know, it sure holders. He vowed to turn BP into a green energy, giant by drastically, cutting oil, and gas production and plowing billions into Renewables. But then he saw all the lovely profits from oil and he he's just like ask where it that actually. I think that's a direct quote, isn't it? I mean, it probably is a little more vulgar than that but yeah, that's about it. He can just do that. Why not these vows? These pledges they don't actually mean anything. That's what we're trying to get out. Here are sucks. Yeah. All right, that's the first story. Second Story of the week. See, I'm gonna go quickly. That was, yeah, it was a fast story, just sad and terrible. I don't, is there anything more to add to that? I mean, no, here's the thing that. Okay, I will I do that. No, here we go. What really irritates me is that he's he said that he was disappointed in the returns from some of the renewable Investments. But he's like he's looking at a minute. I know exactly. Thank you. I mean, the returns you're hoping over are a seven-month term. Like this is how you say, we are going to transition our company by 25 30 years, from now, crazy, but we're disappointed in the returns that we got yesterday, right? Like you you just you just did this. It's been like a year. You have to wait. That's Bernard Looney. Yeah. Patience. Looney patients. I like that. This article says that he he's Irish and from a poor farming family. I like how they pointed that out. What is that supposed to do this? Shame him to saying that he should know better, like he comes from normal, really? I thought it would be the opposite. Like like, you know, like this is a man. What's your Rich made it pulled himself up from by his bootstraps, doesn't care anymore. I don't know. Number, Number two story of the week. This is just one of the irritating. The hell out of me. I don't know if we're listening audience is gonna care, but there are so many headlines about the stupid CEO over there. Zoom Eric Yuan, right? And here's what the headline is saying over and over, and over that, he cut his own pay by 98% amid layoffs. So the hero Some kind of a hero, right? That he had to make layoffs, he's feeling bad about it so he's sliced and diced his pay, right? This is real. This is real accountability. What a man, this is now on the good list of the week. I actually thought that this said the shot of being on there but the truth that we covered earlier in the week. Matt is that this is all a big BS PR dance. Oh he is worth based on his shareholdings. He's worth two billion dollars based on his Zoom shareholdings. The second mere minutes after he announced this, the share price sort up giving him about a 200 million dollar game just by firing people and saying a good few good things and his pay was never anything. It was, it was basically he was just paid in security caught. He got security French benefits. He never had a big pay to begin with. So this is all just nonsense. It's all just horse play. Yeah, well usually, let me go down to the headline because they don't let us dominate. The business news like they should are we should do hey I fixed it for you. You know, those headlines. Well we're like so-and-so's wife, usually the headlines don't give you the percentage, right? Like the percentage of the number that looks really big, so they'll say like Johnson and Johnson was fined, 500 million dollars. They won't tell you what percentage of Revenue that is, but when it's this guy's pay, they gave you the percentage. So it looks really big. But the fact is, his pay was like one dollar and all of his money is. Is there a bodyguard? Yeah, he had a bodyguard. Yeah, they 70% less. So they fired. The Bodyguard. That was probably one of the layoffs. The number three star of the week. This is the one that a lot of again are a lot of the big news. I'm missing the kind of glossing over this one because they're obsessed with stupidity, like Twitter. But SpaceX is barring. Kiev barring Ukraine from using, starlink tech for drone control. So, If you remember SpaceX gave Ukraine access to its starlink technology equipment that it was provided for humanitarian use which ostensibly means playing defense against an aggressor attacking you in a war. Right? Isn't that wouldn't that be under the umbrella of humanitarian? Use know. It's only if you play Plants versus Zombies that humanitarian but because Ukraine is using that technology to help fight back against Russia. SpaceX is pissed. They're like, no, no you can't use it for that. Don't say SpaceX, I know. Okay, you're right. You're right on mosque. And that's why I pulled this story because this is an Elon Musk play, right? Elon Musk is controls the influence at SpaceX. It's just It's bothers him and I don't know why more of a deal isn't being made about this. I mean the same essentially it's one Dopey CEO deciding how Ukraine should defend itself against Russia. It's great of access or don't, let's not like do the thing because what's funny about it is on Twitter, the Free Speech Haven. I can say the N word. Now as much as I want but I can't access the internet. If I use it to defend my country from an aggressor, I can't use the internet and even worse is that he's pulling the the Mark Zuckerberg trick here. He doesn't, he doesn't say this himself. He used his co-o Gwynn Shotwell. Yes, a woman to school. That's the Sheryl Sandberg of SpaceX. I don't know why were the only ones who care about this. And finally, the fourth story of the week. Yes, Matt. There's a bunch of Super Bowl BS, going around actually have a few points here to make. So you know, if you don't want to listen to put your headphones out, there's several things that commissioner Roger, Goodell, he's the CEO of the NFL or he's screwing up a bunch of things this week. So I'm going to point them out. And the first one, I'm pointing out because this guy actually quotes when my favorite authors James Baldwin, so I had I just had to give him props Jim Trotter. He works at the NFL media. He said this to Roger, Goodell, I think it was yesterday. I've worked in the NFL media for five years during those five years. We've never had a black person in Senior Management in our Newsroom. More concerning is that, for the last year, we don't even have a full-time black employee on the news desk. What? So he said, I asked you Roger Goodell. I asked you about these things last year and what you told me that the league had fallen, short blah blah, and you can review it, blah, blah, blah, and changed things yet later. Nothing has changed. Then he quoted James Baldwin which I love is the only time I've ever gotten the quote James Baldwin on this show. He said, he said, I can't believe what you say because I see what you do. So he asked, Roger Goodell, I would ask you as an employee winner, we, in The Newsroom, going to have a black person in Senior Management. And when will we have a full-time black employee in the news deck desk. So, here's what Roger Goodell said, he said he's not in charge of the new despite fact that the, he's a commissioner of the NFL and the NFL runs the NFL media Is he not aware? Look, you know, I just find this this this really got me. I don't want to be controversial here. Yeah, I'm gonna be controversial but Roger Goodell is correct, because what Jim Trotters asking for isn't Excellence capitalism? Yes. So, and let's not, let's not forget here that, you know, what is it 60 to 70% of the NFL players are black. So just pointing that out. What coincidence coincidence moving on, Roger Goodell was asked about concussions specifically, the increase of head trauma this season up 18% and his response was that injuries. Drop six percent Such as he. So the most important injuries went up, but overall, as long as they're down, that's fine. Also yes. Yesterday, which which Roger Goodell did not reference. And the NFL is really trying to stay away from this one Boston University, be you. Released the results of its study of former NFL players brains and its study of 376 former NFL owners, 345 of them had CTE. It's over. 90% had You know, horrible life-altering concussion. Wow. Also yesterday 10 retired NFL players are suing the League's benefit plans accusing the league of Lies. Bad faith and flagrant violations. The federal law and denying disability benefits. In a class action lawsuit. And then finally, this other nugget that I added at the very end, just the stupidity of the NFL in general Hall of Fame. Receiver, Michael Irvin was removed from NFL Network and ESPN programming after allegation and misconduct, this is, this was at a Marriott Hotel, a woman accused him of misconduct. And just basically hours later, he is now, suing the accuser in the Marriott for 100 million dollars over this last year. So, this is what happens in the NFL. This is the world of the Super Bowl, and I just had to point this out. We're all gonna watch on Sunday, or I don't really care what you do are. But I, you know, what, we do, what TV. So, you know, I can't watch right? Because Kyle can't find media if it's not on a TV anymore, right. It's kind of media, right? It doesn't actually get only TV but we do do annual Super Bowl commercial show, where we kind of point out. What do we do with that? Matt, don't we do something, you tell you the companies that actually do. The commercials, the last time we found out that like of the 60 commercial or 80 commercials that were aired, it was like four companies that are company. It was this, some pitiful amount, but know that Michael Irvin's been removed. From NFL Network, can he go work? In NFL media have a black person? And I don't know that they want that chucklehead there on a slave. I'm just saying we're solving two problems. Sure. Okay, there we go. There's a four stories of the week. Anyone have a strong Yeah. That's our exhaust. Yeah. And I tried to go quickly. I'm sorry, the James Baldwin, quote, really slowed me down a bit. I know we had to spend six minutes. I love it. I love that. He said that to Roger Goodell. Again, this was directly asked to Roger Goodell yesterday. So this guy wasn't screwing around Jim Trotter. I love you. Jim Trotter. I mean. I think for me, comes out to Elon musk's, which I don't want to vote for and BP because Eric you want is something that annoys you. But yeah, has been has actually happens like well, every year like the pandemic, we had like a series of shows about the Dick's Sporting Goods, guy who made some big show of taking no salary when you looked at it. He's that he had. He got no salary. Yeah. He was like but it's the misunderstanding of this narrative. It just it does, it just irritates me. It's just irritates you. That is the story of the week that's story that irritates Damien, hey, we're this. Yeah. Right. But I do run the news Department here. So that's right. And there's no black people in it. That's true. I am gonna go with Elon musk's SpaceX bars kit from using starlink anybody else? That's what I'm voting for. Wow, I didn't expect that Ari. I was gonna go for BP because I think this is the fastest Whiplash on a pledge like this, that I'm raising. That is true. That carbon Whiplash is Right story of the week that nobody just nobody else cares about. Is that Elon Musk is telling Ukraine to basically stop defending itself. Yeah, stop at Ukraine. All right, what's up? Oh, are the data quickly to the week? Whoo. Oh yeah. I'm here to bring you up and we're gonna start out with the greatest deal. I've seen so far in 2020. All right, everyone, listen up. Cracker Barrel is offering free food for years to couples who proposed at the restaurant on Valentine's Day. I gotta send this to Rob, I've never been to him before but I kind of want to do a big proposal. Wait did Rob. Frequent Cracker Barrel? No no. But he's due to propose soon. So we might as well. Wait, I don't understand that like you scheduled the proposal know. I think the ring together and stuff. Yeah, we're designing. The ring we've got a small window over. Why not do it in a Cracker Barrel? Why not do that? That's what I'm saying. I do have a salad bar so it doesn't just have to be, you know, Fat. What what do you care about this are you first of all have you ever been to Cracker Barrel know? Okay. He also just heard me from the other room and goes do to propose. I just tell you this. Summer before my daughter, left us horribly for a year. To go to a foreign country, you would Cracker Barrel. We decided to do some, like, some, like silly American things that she thought that she wanted to do together her system. And one of those stupid things we did was go to Olive Garden of all because she was intrigued, by the all you can eat like breadsticks and selling. I have, here's the problem. Is that? Once you go to places like Cracker Barrel and and Olive Garden, you get all this free food. You have to eat it. Yes, And a terrible experience. Sorry it's not Crap. But you don't have it. Wait, you don't have to eat it. If you go to the store to propose and then get free food, but so what's the food? Okay, so, then why do the Cracker Barrel? Yeah. Just you know what, I think this is a, this is a great headline headline. Good list of the week, this isn't the food is, I'm surprised by you are Chipotle. Is Ari's. Taco Bell. What else? All right, number two. Walgreens CFO says he might have cried too much last year over shoplifting. Oh, I thought this was so funny. Like, can you imagine the CFO? Like, crying literal tears. He said his eyes hurt and then bottling. You selling them on eBay. Oh, where he said his eyes hurt? Yeah. So he literally was crying. These are not metaphorical tears, are the covers this. I don't think there's ever popped up. I read that as crying over something, it's not the same as actual tears but he's he's hurt. These are actual tears. Well, maybe exaggerating, but I don't care. The graphic, my mind is just so great. Oh yeah, I could just picture him bottling his tears and then selling them on eBay to try to help out. Well, I mean, I think he's he has to make these numbers look good and they're coming in and it's like, oh there's a lot of shopping. I think he's just scared about, so presenting them, you know, CFO strategy. So Walgreens and CVS Walmart and Target is that what they call shrink? Yeah industry term that refers to lost inventory either because he got stolen or it was mismanaged, it did go up by 52%. Yeah. However it represents a very small portion of the money they make every year. So, what investors are what people are saying? Is that Walgreens CFO and other CFOs and other executives are blowing this way out of proportion and the steps you're taking to supposedly prevent these things from happening like hiring their own security for for stores or not effective at all. Just because there's a security guard, doesn't mean that your store is not gonna get. Oh, so what here's what gets me is that I would understand if it was the chief of security, he was crying about this but it's just the CFO Crying over money, man. Crying over. That's it. That's what capitalism has because I originally thought like, it was crying because it was just awful for the staff or because he said up a security program that wasn't working. He might get fired, but no, he's crying over money, that's just sad. Yeah, that's why he's crying. Go ahead. All right, and then number three, Bernie Sanders demands answers from interim. Starbucks CEO. Howard Schultz. Okay, again, this is where headline writers business news. You got to all wrong, my calling Howard Schultz and interim. CEO is like, calling Matt, a pile of yellow snow, right? LG that isn't a good analogy of being called that before, but he's a little bit, he's a little bit more important than in terms CEO. Well, Bernie Sanders as we have pointed out for, I don't know, a year year and a half. Howard Schultz has been aggressively fighting their workers efforts to unionize and Bernie Sanders as part of the Senate, health education, labor, and pensions committee. Sent a letter to Schultz on Tuesday, this week demanding. He testify on at a March 9th here on his company's compliance with federal labor laws, So I'm just letting this, I like, yeah, well, that's, that's Bernie being Bernie, I love. Bernie. But like, yeah, we're not gonna stop, but Starbucks. We're gonna go after Amazon and pharmaceutical companies that charge the eyeballs out of you, so right? Yeah, I bought charges Yeah. I, I immediately am going to eliminate Cracker Barrel from this list. I, I can't see how this is good. I mean, first of all, most people shouldn't get married. They don't have to and it's just so corny. Come on. And, you know, like Valentine's Day will give you free food for a year. If you're a person that went to college and got the Freshman 15, this is guaranteeing you get the first year of marriage, 40, right? Like this is not a good idea. How do you prove the veracity of your engagement? Couldn't anyone? Just go and do this? I mean, right? They probably make you sign a document that says we were not previously engaged but then probably making you get married on the spot but don't get married. Like, what's the? I don't understand. I don't maybe, let us know. All right? I'm also going to Just count Bernie Sanders, because Bernie Sanders says, lots of things, lots of answers, which leads me with Walgreens CFO. And here's what I like about Walgreens CFO crying about shrink. Shrink increase 52% Walgreens, just announced their first quarter 2023 results and they lost over four dollars. A share their earnings were way down. And I was looking through the documents and I was like, maybe it's because of all the shrink. Yeah, no. It's because of a six billion dollar opioid charge that they took, he didn't cry about the opioid charge. He didn't cry for that. He cries because a couple of people shoplifted, some tampons. That's really got him down. That is that makes me. Happy feels Miss categorized and it feels like it should be one of my articles. Yeah. Why is this goodly good? Are you gonna take liberties with your category like you're just doing whatever makes you feel good? Which I guess what? Giggle it's a giggly of the week, we could change it. Uh, just oh, yeah, for Bernie. Because I like him and maybe one of the first. His efforts are like, spit, throwing spaghetti at the wall, but maybe one will stick maybe this one will, I think? Matt just just proved that ESG is, in fact, a socialist Uprising? So, yeah, Florida was right. I get tired of socialist. All right, this is, this is a tough one. I mean, none of this crap. Did you diligent? Can I get my guy? Who included the James Baldwin quote and a CEO pay announcement, that was irritable. How was all the horrible stuff going on the NFL during the Super Bowl week? Not a story of the week, but you just, it was, it was an excuse, to put a James Baldwin in our show, that's what it was. We know, I don't, I don't know if I can vote on any of this, I respect. Bernie Sanders of course. All right. That's when You plan. Let me guess. It's the only one that actually is good. The others just nonsense. All right there. All right. Bernie Sanders, give us some more headlines in March a week week win. It is a weak win. Oh, Matt miscarriage up. Come on. Make us feel bad to press us. We are already depressed. I have four for you to choose from the first up is spending money on losers. Because this week this headline popped Adam Neumann talked about flow for a full hour and we still don't know what it is. I love that. Yeah, Adam Neumann. Yeah, he's a real estate company and which they say they're going to the people are theorizing because we don't really know, but they think they're going. You like you can rent an apartment like a like we were like, you know, you know, office space that you're renting and you can like move around. You do that with apartment rentals. So it's like, communal, living and different, it's for a living. Yeah. But you also get a sliver of ownership of the building or something. Okay, they're trying to know. It's a co-op. They already have those there. Any question the condo association there? You have those. But what's worse about this is Marc Andreessen wrote his single largest. Check that Andrews and Horowitz has ever written 300 million dollars here. To Adam Neumann. Talk about failing up. This guy has not. Once had an idea that made any sense that he could actually talk about, I mean, he can't prior to doing this real estate stuff. Didn't he make like baby diapers? Like he also made he made women's heels that the heel retracted or something, I mean it's unbelievable, just keeps getting funded. I like how do we keep spending money on this terrible? He did throw good Raves allegedly. I've talked to like three VCS at this point. I can't get a dollar that guy that guy can say like, what like whatever pops into his brain, he gets 350 million. Maybe you should lean more on to like telling stories about plunging, toilets. Like he was and I know I clearly I'm missing out and then simultaneously like we're hearing about Google and Alibaba, just announced their investing in a chatbot AI. I do Microsoft launched a chat GPT is just everywhere and they launched it. You have to join a waitlist to get their new Bing with the with chat GPT in it, right? And and yet meta is still spending billions of dollars per year to give Mark Zuckerberg legs. What do we spend our money on? I'm you're all assholes. Everybody is an asshole, spend money on something useful. So that's number one. Is that your way saying, spend your money on us. Yes, useful. We're useful board. Paper. Matrices is useful. Number two, but not this show. Ah, well you could I guess you could spend on this show someone would spend money on the show. Declaring victory. Here are the two headlines back-to-back. Disney proxy fight over for Eiger. Nelson Peltz claims victory. Of course, Nelson, pelts Tree in, took an activist stake in Disney and Then followed. By this Disney plans, to reinstate his dividend and cut 7,000 jobs, the stock jumps, Nelson belts. Declared victory was a dividend and cutting 7,000 people's jobs. So I did some quick populist math. Yeah. Five, people's math is 7,000 employees. Assuming they make roughly 65,000 per year, That's over 440 or 450 million dollars that you're saving. If your Disney Disney has 1.8 billion shares. Outstanding, 455 divided by 1.8, is 25 cents. If the annual dividend they announced is 25 cents or around it, it means the employees were fired to line investors Pockets. But this is not a story, right? But this isn't this how it rolls and and isn't that crazy that he's claiming victory for something that every big company is doing right now which is laying off about five to ten percent increasing stock BuyBacks or dividends and he's claiming victory for this Victory. Declare. This was what we knew this was coming anyway. I mean, what you're gonna do but restructure and I believe, his quote was, the management. Gave us everything we want to like declared victory. Yeah, number three. Something to me. We keep seeing all these layoffs. Headlines. And yeah. Unemployment is. You know, the lowest, it's been in 40 years or something. We covered this in a previous show, how dare you for not listening, Matt, go ahead compute. I mean, they're worried about interest rates, they're laying off in anticipation of rates, going up or staying High, because the job market so high. Plus, there's a there is a piggyback effect here, right? I think when, if, when a few big companies, do it. Don't others. Aren't they like super grateful? They're like, oh, we can just do this too, right? Because if it's happening everywhere now is the perfect time but just fire a bunch of losers. Yeah, in fact, Elon Musk was arguably the tip of the spear when he laid off all over Twitter, everybody every tech company says, the people who don't need employees, probably either. Because, look, he's getting away with it. So why don't we do it? It's a lot of group, things like your, your second asshole. The week was declaring Victory. I like and never declare Victory. You act 7,000 jobs. It's not Victory. Number Three. Josh Hawley. Oh, come on Senator. Josh Hawley for making me agree with you. Oh, that pisses me off. I don't ever want to agree with that here in my entire life. Sounds like you're you're agreeing with him though. I am agreeing with them. Here's the headline. Senator, Josh Hawley wants to create a legal age for social media. I like that. Okay, I know. I can't. I have I really think that the age should be 75 years old. That should be the 75 plus 40. Oh, I mean alternatively, I, I I'm gonna submit this on Holly's website as a suggestion, they should just mandate that social media. Executives kids are forced to be on their own social media platforms for four hours a day with no parental filters and guess how he Kids their own social media, they're on the record of saying, they will not give their kids screen time because they don't think it's good for them. And yet, they, that's like that's literally like handing a cigarette to someone else and being like, Oh, I want smoke that that's gonna give me cancer. That's terrible. Like, what are we doing? But how do we, how do we really govern this? How was that possible that we The legislation would mandate that they have to get a verified age and how they do that would be like, come on, I don't know, a driver's license. Have you seen the internet is there, but the parents we have the ability to delete all the kids data like in full and it would be suitable. Basically they they would make it illegal liability. So if there was like a 13 year old in the age was 16, it means you could sue Instagram or Facebook or Facebook or meta or it's just better but all so like you know, Twitter you could sue them and say hey my kid has got on there and they're underage. It's like if they bought alcohol from, you know, local Bodega and it wouldn't parents fall, it would be the it would be the company's full. Yeah, they make it the company fall for verifying the age. I got a better idea. I know how the Republicans are aligned with God. You know, the one with Jesus and God why don't they make a deal with God, that kids can't grow hands until they're 16 so they can't. Hold on the phone. Why? Can't God work that out. This is handless handless children, they can't. They can't go on Snapchat. I'm pretty sure this is your best. Worst idea you've ever said out loud. Um, God, if you're listening, well, we actually we know God's listening because God is omnipotent. So reach out because I think we could we could work on something here. I don't think he has email. Finally, this thing is, is up for the asshole of the week. Yeah, go ahead. Daniel Cameron calls on GOP field or to take anti-esg pledge for public. Pensions Daniel Cameron is running for. I believe it's Kentucky Governor. This is just a you're running for that too, aren't you? Yeah. Jesse's in the running. The after she and Rob propose in a Cracker Barrel in Kentucky, she's gonna go to lots of local speaking event. I just, I just we're now making pledges anti-esg pledges, and if we're gonna make an anti-esg pledge, this first of all, you might as well be a communist pledge like say I'm not a communist, right? And sign your name to it, I'm not a communist or so, it's pure McCarthyism, but forget that. Why stop there? Why not pledged not to review? The doctors are not allowed to review. Any medical studies or Data before they do surgery. Like why why have that like maybe you could play to eat food forever with your eyes closed and your fingers plugging your nose so that you don't discriminate against different food groups. Yeah I like this too. Maybe what else can we play? We should play a whole bunch of things, and he wants everyone to sign it to show how on board they are. And I, yes, I will say that I almost picked the story, but I didn't because I thought people were sick at this but I know Matt, you love the anti, I can't get, but it's already starting to not work in Indiana and Florida. Based on the argument that they were given in the first place that you couldn't use ESG, because it's against your fiduciary duty. There's already pushback from the people who actually managed the money in those States saying it's it'd be against our fiduciary, duty to go against BlackRock. So Florida and Indiana, Indiana saying they're gonna use Black Rock in Florida. Two is saying that they made a deal with black rock and they're gonna keep using black. They're gonna go back to Black Rock. Yes, it's already failing because everyone was a big. Winner is horseshit? Yeah. All right. So, those are your options spending money on losers. Like Adam Neumann declaring Victory when cutting 7,000 jobs at Disney. Josh Hawley for making me go with him and Daniel Cameron for his anti-esg pledge. I'll go first. I got my it's I think it's pretty easy for me. Although is i i as much as I want to vote for Nelson, Peltz clearing Victory because it's not I refuse to believe it a thing to do with this. I'm gonna go with spending money on losers because let's not forget to Adam Neumann walked away with over a billion dollars from his failure. We work and the fact that literally thousands of workers who thought that there were gonna, you know, make some money off of an IPO blah blah, who put countless hours and, you know, their lives into this company lost. Pretty much everything. Yeah. So, and never got anything back and now we're betting on him again. It's just, it's, it's the largest check in recent horoscope and, you know, get over yourself seriously. Right. My boat. Failing up is not, you know, an asshole of the week thing. But the fact that this person who writes a lot of checks, does his biggest, check what the heck on this? Check the biggest check Adam Newman. Who again numerous television shows about how much of a failure. Yeah there's a series on Netflix about their everywhere. Yeah, I'm gonna go over the story too. Okay, Jessie your vote doesn't count. What do you what? I was going with that story. Anyways, of course you were the money Whisperer. So it's sweet. That'll bring us up to If we were an exhausted already. Know, I'm feeling better now. I like, when better. I like, when I hate all of Ari's stories, it makes me feel good. Well let's let's see if I can keep you in the spirit. Come on exhausting this, okay? Christianity gets a Rebrand. oh, you kill me and it really before 100 million viewers this weekend in the form of a soup of two Super Bowl ads. And the Rebrand is he gets us. Jesus gets us. Who's he is it Roger Goodell. I want to be an angel omnipotent he on answered. He could be anybody. It's like my cat just I know you probably don't know the answer. This is a little bit unfair, but if you spend enough money, will they put any ad on the Super Bowl? Like, like, I don't get this? Isn't this? Like, I would say, yes. This feels like a hate crime to those of us who aren't led by Jesus. I'm guessing. Yeah, I mean, I thought that they would not want to create Side. But I mean I guess 20 million dollars will they'll chance it? Do you know how frequently I know here that if you don't believe in Jesus that you're going to hell and all this. Like you there's an increase in that kind of language so I don't get why the NFL's they can find money elsewhere. Oh, I forget that. Yeah, why does it need a rebranded? The first place Christian, the strongest brand in history. The world. 3% of the United States that is Market penetration. That's you have the majority of the country. Well, there are some cleaning going for 68%. What's the idea here? What are we going for? The Christians are getting scared. They think that religion is in Decline. I mean, it probably is. I wonder it is. Yeah. So they're getting very scared. Jesus is scared. He wants to know that he got. Anyways, that's all I have to say about that. I'm exhausted Christianity as much as you want. I love. But I don't think that it this form of Rebrand is going to make people believe that religion doesn't divide us. That was like Facebook becoming meta is that? Oh wait, is he changing his name to? He gets us? Is this like that? Yeah, remember the Kanye. It's his new slogan. Grab that handle. He gets us Matt you're old. Remember the XFL the NFL competitor. I think it was a league run by Vince McMahon. Yeah it was. Yeah and there was a there was a player you were allowed to put any name on your jersey and there was a player that put infamously, put he hates me as his name. So maybe Jesus is going to become, he gets us, maybe that's his new. Well, maybe the that was Chad Ocho Cinco. Who put it on his back? Was it? I don't know. I I maybe he was just saying Jesus hates him actually. It wasn't he hates me? I think it was he hate me? Yeah. Something like that. Okay, no, my next my next article has to do with child labor, like I thought At least you ask companies. I thought that we were on board with not employing children. To. Do any sort of labor for us. But Hyundai, one of the biggest car manufacturers is a talks with the US Labor Department over Alabama, child. I can't say I'm shocked by where this is a caring but They found a Reuters investigation found children as young as 12 working in Hazard Laden, Alabama factories linked to this Automotive Giant and of course, their sister company Kia as well. 12. 12 years old. Wow, they're a little fingers but that's the target audience gets us. Because yeah, you know when you get the anti is you death, Jesse. There's all a bill from a public in Iowa, I believe that there are trying to soften child labor laws or not. They're trying to they're trying to mess with the age, but they're trying to let Younger protection people work in more hazardous jobs so that they can start here's the thing. So they're gonna get children to start working Young. Or 12. And Then, by the time. 30. They're gonna get fired because robots are taking over their job. Anyways like what is this? We have to start them working young because they're going to be obsolete, by the time, they're 25 or 30. I'm confused. Anyways, the spokesperson for the company said, they're putting several new measures in place to ensure non-compliance among them they'll roll out new employment training programs throughout the US supply chain, validate, identification, documents, for job, applicants, which I think they probably should have been doing. Anyways, you know what else they're doing? I heard is that, you know what the carnival will? They have, like, are you just tall to ride this to go on this ride? They're putting that all over the factory. Good good. You know what? Maybe that will help that should that should take care of blinds all all that stuff. So anyways, I just I'm like these are very weak weak new measures and I feel like they should be held for accountable but they of course, blame it on third party agencies that place underage workers in their suppliers plan. So of course, they had to have escaped go. But yeah. I just thought we were past child labor at this point. So, let me Let me, let me get this straight. They said, we call the third party to get some contractors to come in. And person who's four foot one and has not hit puberty yet shows up and they're like are you the new contractor? And they're like yes and they just give them what a giant like Aaron. Yeah, go for it. There's a laser. Yeah, if a company pledges that they will not use child Labour, will they be accused of being? Too woke. Yes, what are you? Here's the Bill. Here's the bill Republicans in Iowa, letting 14 year, olds work in industrial laundry, and meet freezers. They're trying to lower the age of 14 and as an added incentive to the businesses, it Shields them from almost all civil liability for harms that might happen to those children. If anything happens, that's okay. It's going on right now. You these pledges Bernard Looney just taught you that none of these pledges matter. So you can say whatever you want and then just hire 12 year olds, anything else. I've got. One more thing that's exhausting me. Apparently, people are still littering. Hi. That was like not a thing garbage and like placing It On The Ground. Just happened to America dirty. Yes, I know it's dirty but come on. You know, I see litter on the street, I always think that it's a fly away from garbage pickup. Oh, you're so good. So no worries. Oh, littered people are so throwing their trash and yeah, one over the 10. The 10 most litter, anyone want to guess the most littered single-use plastic. Unfortunately, I collected this article and looked I know the answer to this one. Don't, I don't, I would say probably Reese's Pieces like that one specifically, right? Orange one. That's because you see it, Matt. You see that? Yeah. It's not the first but the third is plastic film from food specifically. I was close Ariani guesses. How fast food wrappings? Yeah, that could well that could be polystyrene food which is actually the seventh the seventh but it's cigarette filters. So apparently we're still smoking too, which is exhausted, but Aries, but Aries, right too? Because number five is non-film plastic food, packaging. Number six, is beverage packaging. I mean, so there's a lot of fast food stuff in there. A lot of these have to do with your takeout. So I know like super convenient when you can go grab your takeout but it's Plastic. Film food is third. Fifth is non-film plastic. Beverage packaging is sick. All these things should be at a fish food because when they inevitably end up in the ocean or mushrooms, there's packaging, that is being created from mushrooms. And then I think we just jumped the woke shark if we're now playing about the Socialist talking to that. All right, that's what I had that. This is what the costing me this week. Slam dunk for me. Oh, I want to hear. Yeah, I would child labor is exhausting, but I'm not surprised that it's still happens and like actually that they're actively trying to lower the age of being able to work. I, but I'm gonna go with Christianity's Rebrand, how does something so pervasive need more rebranding. They're spending a tremendous amount of money to get the message out about Christianity, read your history. There's a war on Christmas. Mat. Read your history books. Yeah, where It's everywhere. If you're not as you notice I can say Religion is everywhere. I can't escape it. It's everywhere. So are you I'm gonna go a child labor because what the heck? You just saying that because you're soft. Yeah. Maybe I was hoping we were all softer. Yeah, I'm gonna be real with you Jesse and say littering because I really know what your story on the litter. Actually, physically started to exhaust me listening to you list out litter types. It made me feel exhausted. So, I am gonna say that one. I'm gonna pick that one and let you break the ties since it's yours. What exhaust you the most Jesse. Oh, This. Child. Oh, there it is. There it is. There it is. Oh my God. Child labor for the win baby. Yeah. Gonna get her tiny limbs. We're under six hours today, man. It's exciting. That's correct. We are under six hours. Who won the week? Who won the week? Is a good question. I say Nelson Peltz because he says so right? He wins whatever week he wants to week, right? He won. He declared Victory. Okay. Social Security, and Medicare and joined their brief period of fun time during this date of the one time. I I'm with you kind of Matt I'm going Kendall Baba, he's just getting. He just getting so much. Praise. I know how much praise headline, it's ridiculous. Yeah. Um which leads us to predictions? Are you skipped over, Jesse? I'll go first a prediction because mine is pretty long-winded, but tough. I don't care. He uses our data a little bit. So Get over. Here we go. Dan Schulman. Stepping down and CEO of PayPal, right? Okay, sure. Yeah, this is a news story today. But he will remain on the board. Okay, he's gonna stay on the board. So our because of this because he's staying on the board, I'm gonna protect that PayPal will not hire an external Superstar CEO, but they're going to hire someone internal so that Dan can potentially control that higher and then maybe Boomerang back in. Right? I love it because this is what we've learned from our data that if there is a power Gap. Why not just stick around, is the former CEO and wait, see what happens. Do you have? Do we know who's gonna be the internal? Okay. That's next. My second part. My prediction, despite the fact that the three, the directors, with the three lowest influence, influence scores on the board at PayPal or women. Yes, that's right. There's, of course, that's shocking and it's sad. If you look at our data, if you want to look at our data, it'll reach out to us, but despite that fact, I'm going to predict brazenly, I might add that PayPal promote its own CIO Archie deskus to see to CEO, she was formerly CIO at Intel Hewlett-Packard Baker, Hughes Timex. This is United Technologies, Ingersoll Rand, she's the CEO everywhere. Well, she's 194 years old and I'm hope when I'm hoping, is that this fulfills another prediction of mine that I made during our prediction show is that I think she might be South Asian profile, creeper territory. Her LinkedIn profile says that she has a working proficiency of the Indian language Gujarati so. But I can't tell because other terrible third party websites. Call her African-American. I don't know what she is but that's my prediction. I see. Oh, Archie desk has become the new CEO that best prediction of the year. Well only because we used our data metrics Market. Wow, now I already wanted to talk about my predictions. Go ahead or go ahead double compared This. But I predict that Business Insider. It's already done. Well, run a bunch of headlines next week. Along the lines of man loses car cat and dog. After Super Bowl online. Gambling goes wrong. Oh sorry. Thank you for bringing that up. I actually deleted all my gambling stories associated with the Super Bowl because I didn't want to exhaust Matt too much. But yes, you're absolutely right. There's gonna be a ton of money lost gambling on the stupid game. Yes, we can. Yeah. Well, I used our data for my prediction also. All right, I like this. So, here's the backdrop. There are 22,500 distinct first names of directors globally active today. 22,000 first name, how many that's unadjusted for spellings, like j o n versus j. O h n. Right. So I haven't seen, I haven't matched them yet. But 22,000 names for first names where there's at least 50 people that have that name the first name with the median highest influence. Globally is Adam. Adam Neumann, 12%, influence, 75 names. So I predict that Adam Newman is funded a entirely because his first name sounds powerful, and B atom becomes the most popular baby name in 2023. And this is a billboard rooms in ways social people. So, you're saying, the name, Adam is the most influential director named that what you're saying, Adam Adams inch Financial first name of a direct biblical. It goes along with the branding. It's compelling because I don't even, I can't even think of a single atom direct. We don't talk about all that atoms. It's surprising that it was 12%, median, influence, the name stealth board power. That's a good Jesse. Okay. My prediction comes from an article that I read, that says dust from the Moon and could help slow climate change. So, my prediction is that human in our greedy, human fashion are going to over forage over. Collect. I don't. Know what the verb is dust from the Moon, to try to save the world from climate change, just so, you know, you're not wrong. I just read an article today about crazy, how they're funding their funding giant mirrors like research and giant mirrors to play some space to deflect sunlight. So that it cools, it wasn't. Engineering. Yeah, it wasn't that from one of the Facebook Founders. Yeah, you know the X founder Moskowitz. That's great. Thanks a lot. Why not? Why not? Just sprinkle some Moon dust all over us. Yeah, same difference still, all the moons does, those are the greatest predictions you'll ever hear on any podcast anywhere that's business pants. We are free float Damien and Jesse the money Whisperer and Ari. The data queen, I'm Matt, we are the free flow team. You can get bored saber metrics from us or you could just listen to the show next week. That's when we'll be back until then goodbye.
