Live from your free flow headquarters know, I don't even write a joke here. We're actually a free flow headquarters. That's true. Whereas the energy you're here, it's a business pants Friday, show here at March 17th Studios, featuring are the data Queen. Jesse the money Whisperer BS man. Matti I heard a lot of BS coming out of my day I really enjoyed it. It was I mean board sabermetrics. Hey Play with the other very capably selling our product for you. Today's weekly wrap-up in the Friday show sucky Banks. Clean tech goals, sounds boring. Oh, Bankers named Frank in chat, Palooza. Yeah, like palooza here. There's a lot of balloons. All right, you start rolling with the great Damian Ross, that's not that's real. Here we go. This is easy for me this week. One of the easier weeks I don't think I had to open the headline documents. Number One, Bank collapses. There were three Banks, the clubs right Mark five years, Silicon Valley Bank silvergate, Capital Credit Suisse almost collapse credit Suite, got a giant life line first Republican, right? So Uh, but the Highlight here, stories. What's that? Hard to escape those stories this week? It's hard. The Highlight for me. Is this article that came out today that svb's disgraced ex CEO? Greg, Becker seen holidaying in Hawaii days after The second biggest bank collapse in US history, where does he, where do you expect them to be? I want people to be like, egging his house and car in San Francisco. They are doing that in San Francisco, which is why he's in Hawaii. I want him in a dirty Santa suit and a dirty Mall talking to. The constituents of the bank, I do think that is the greatest idea you've ever had off areas yesterday. You said that everybody who's like a fail to executive should have to work as a mall Santa for two weeks. This is the guy who was sold nearly 30 million dollars in shares in the company, over the past two years, including a quick sale for million dollars worth of shares that went through on February 27th of this year. Yeah, a couple weeks ago. So did he buy this house in Hawaii? Or With that money, who knows? Wow. Well, when they claw back the money he's probably gonna have to return the house, right? Sure. I mean, where did SBF go? After all his things he's in prison, no, he's a home home prison, right? Yeah, I mean, didn't he? Wasn't he in a tropical locations because that's where they located their company. Speaking of SPF, there are a bunch of CEO stories. I didn't capture today. One being that the SBF had put 2.2 billion dollars into his private accounts from FDA. Yes, 2.2 billion dollars, and that his workers at FTX had a 200 dollar a day. Door, Dash allowance 200 dollars. Is it though? What would you shove in for two dollars? Happy Saint Patty's Day. I just want to wrap up the bank, collapses category, Matt, and I covered these headlines a lot earlier this week. The get woke go broke storyline that the Silicon Valley Bank collapse because of its wokeness which I think is a, I think it's great. It's an important moment for the history of what we do because there couldn't be a less woke. Yeah that we can I think it's helps our talking about. I think it really jumps the shark. Yes it's really like a nice ribbon on the top of the pointless political talking points. I like it, Anna rhymes. Uh, the number two story of the week which is a thrilling to me because I'm the one who collects all the headlines. And I'm just glad I didn't have to do a bunch of these is that the Oscars that nobody cared about, nobody cared about the Oscars this week because of the banks, know, that's not, that's marginally true about the Oscar asian-americans. Oh, okay. They did sweep sure. Okay. Fine. here's the headline, I pulled from your Oscars, Oscars, goody bags contained, unseemly gift, Certificates for Aboriginal land. So that's so East certificate gift certificate. So certificate to a plot of land in Aboriginal territory, one square meter of indigenous territory, in Northeast Australia. And according to the people who actually control that land that they knew nothing about it. It's just Yeah, they weren't consulted it's some kind of a strange money-making conservation Ploy. I feel like somebody just printed them their office and stuffed all the bags. I read that they have that based on the value of what was gifted. It turns out to be if you live in California about 46,000 dollars of sales tax that they would pay on those because it's gifts. So they have to claim it as income, huh? What? But but there are, but now they get to go and say it's actually not a gift because there's no thing there. No one actually gave us land. Right? Well, so, but what about for cosmetic surgery? Complimentary stays at a light house and Italy. And there was like this chocolate Canada, that they got like a weekend stay too. I really would have thought that like an iPad was in there. Yeah. That's your that's. Yeah. You don't think like a rich person. Yeah. Amount of plastic surgery. They were gifted. I was like, that's insane. What a blue collar? Attention. He would have made speaking of things that nobody cared about the number third story of the week. The Larry Fink letter something that he didn't even care about. I think was so tired of his own letter that he just, he I think he had chat GPT right at about the economy, like, slide under the radar of all the shit that happened this week, he only cares about music, the big takeaway here. The big takeaway here is that no mentions of ESG, dialed back, the talk of any kind of sustainability, he wasn't even defensive, he was just sort of in the middle. He was not defensive, right? That was. Yeah, last year he was Defensive right, wasn't he starting to get a little irritated about the woke anti-walk pushback. It wasn't hadn't quite started. Yet. Last year really ramped up at the end of the year, but he was starting in on the talking point that he said, ESG is not woke, okay, last year, but now I was just like, it's now he's just like, you know what? I'm so tired of talking about whether it's working or not, I'm not even gonna say it. That I'll show you and finally the fourth story because I'm always like oddly, plugging us, is that the fourth series that the world needs free float and board saber metrics. This is the one Ari's voting for or Jesse's definitely. Here's the headline, she always is trying to sell stuff. Our friends at Bloomberg, the collapse svb, the Silicon Valley, Bank exposes lazy ESG funds as hundreds bought into Doom bank. But hey, we had the data that could shed some different angles and light on that they still would have reach out to what about the same back. All right, let's try to plug our product. All right, who's voting? I'll go first, the bank, the bank, that's a boring. You don't seem to, usually go for the obvious boards. It's boring, but it's a story, everything. It's the story that we have to be free flow board paper, Matt? See, I told you just the it is the bank collapse and it's they, the bank clubs because I've been on like yeah, Ari's correct. I'm Shopping at didn't pick the Oscars. Yeah. The it's the story that we because we've gotten like four client calls as a result of this, I'll tell you why, because the cursor analysis of ESG ratings that they had nothing to say about right Banks. They even Is G, forgot that g was part of ESG and that's what we do here. We put the who into all this nonsense and we have a lot to say yeah. We have everything turns out. Yes. So I'm going to say that. Actually, it's a tie that Jesse and Ari are both correct, because it's really the same thing. We have two stories of those. That's a story the week. The bank Banks collapse and people are calling us Story, that's all of us. I'm gonna tell you, I'm gonna say this very careful to all of our listeners. Anytime there's any type of collapse like this, in the corporate world, our data will will have something to say about it, invariably Walgreens. That sounds vaguely, like a guarantee. It is a guarantee the Walgreens stops selling the abortion pill. Our data pointed directly to This creepy, dude. Who controlled the entire board? Influence sure. That happens. So we were able to look right beyond the female CEO, right into the eyes of a creepy, dude, good, who controls the influence and got rid of abortion pills. Even in states where it's legal. I will tell you this, um, Ari managed to compile a list of the types of boards by like the government type of each board and we found that 72% of boards in the world, not the US in the world are either totalitarian as in one person controls the majority of influence at that board, like Zuck or oligarchies, where it's like three white guys. Like these, like these Banks like three white guys control the majority of influence at the board. Well, I'll tell you that is the death of The alternative democracy. There is no democracy. I'll tell you what our data pointed directly to Signature Bank, silvergate capital. And SBB is what you just said. It's a small cohort of long, tenured white men who absolutely controlled and influence at these boards, democracies dead. That's my takeaway NPR. I need to call you up. This is where we need. Let's move on. Make our dead to me, girl, is of the week are the data Queen. Alright. I think you're gonna be speaking at an upcoming conference will you at least introduce yourself as the data Queen? Geez like I would pay so much to hear to see that maybe out of like, any initials beside her name. Like I have CPA. That's dumb data Queen, you know, how like, Ohio State, you know, like like gang members when they're like in fully initiated. They have like the teardrop, the tattoo, can you a number like instead of like a teardrop next ride? It's a number next to her eye. Everyone knows we're getting silly here but serious place. Please bring us back to Serious land. Novo Nordic. That sounds thing. That's right. Yeah. Two slash us insulin prices, following move by Eli, Lilly, I like that. Well earlier, this month. Eli Lilly said that he would cut the list prices for its most commonly prescribed insulin products by 70%, and guess what happened next? Told us there's other company, Novo, nordics Nordisk, where she repeats herself, which owns 43% of the market share in the US. And Canada also said it would reduce the price, the list price of unbranded, insulin by 65 to 75% based on the product. Here's the math, they did. They were like, you know what, we have 43% of the market share, the unbranded amount is like 12% of that. The rest of it is, is Novo Nordisk super insulin, of course, I don't think so. It's, it's, it can't. They don't do this. Unless it's pure popo, which is fear of getting priced out, then I just made it. I like we've argued that like, once one person does it then it's setting a precedent. And these, like Macho, men are gonna be like, we need to do that too. Well, this is where the data points that we're talking about matter because it's really three, dudes, controlling the board, right? So if you're talking about five companies, all moving the same direction and they're all oligarchies that's really 15 people making the decision for like the majority Americans. Well, come on not Canadians. Well, they don't have as much trouble. Affording their insulin is American Staff socialized medicine. No stop it. All right, diabetes topic. I don't relate to this. I don't know after all the pastries. What else you got? All right. Number two, Ford issues. Men's only four to explore. I don't understand this. How is this amazing a commercial? Tell us and the commercials starts out with a tough guy voice over like, you know, George something like this. Introducing the men's only Ford Explorer with no windshield wipers. Wait, what? No heater. No turn signals no. Rearview mirrors. Know GPS. Are you kidding? Ah it's missing all the parts created by women. Oh I like It was great. I thought it was great. These are, these are praised commercials here. I thought it was like smart. Yeah, satire to highlight women inventors and their inventions that we use in our everyday lives and these are all things that men probably hate in cars. Anyway, safe turn signals, most people don't use them anymore, so don't use turn signal. I know wild well. Before I included Ford on here, I did have to go look at their board representation for wellness. Tell us. And even though Ford is a controlled family firm with two Ford men on the board, it is. So it's a tall totalitarian board. The mat was talking about the leftover influence, there are 30%, female directors and they hold 32% of 32% of the leftover. Oh, there's only 30% of the leftovers too. Okay. And these are not family members of leftovers, correct? And for the industry, look you take the wins. Where you get them. Yeah. That's what you learned. How much influence do the does a Ford family member to the do they control most 70% less percent 60 percent? Okay. Basically, but all the leftovers is women, so like, I don't really care. I like this one. Yeah, I thought it was great and we need it. We need to, we need to think about using satire in our shows and start. That's right. I don't know, it's not in your face. It's not like, who's gonna be upset about this or taxes in Florida? Gonna not allow for I was in this to be like I think the Santa's was on Fox news. This morning saying like let's burn all the cop cars planes. Why Ford cars are are the largest proportion of copper that might be true right? They're spending time. It's on this fall it's like DeSantis is campaign is going to do something like that and it'll be like that Meme that Goes around where they show the picture of a plane from World War Two, and all the bullet holes in the plane, and all the bullet holes in the plane are on the wings. And so they put armor on the wings, but the thing was, all the planes that got hit, not where the bullet holes were, were the ones that crashed and were destroyed. So you couldn't get the data. They're gonna say something about that. Like, with Ford, you follow me, I like what you're saying but I have no idea what you're talking about. But I bet you there's someone out there who's loving somebody like that analogy. So I really like this commercial. All right, what else you got? What else is good? This week. Last one diesel giant coming has a no definitely not coming. Oh 13. Oh you're gonna hate the words here. 13 billion dollar, clean tech goals. Well, come and is the largest independent engine manufacturer for commercial industrial equipment, okay? They make things like diesel engines and generators currently. They're clean tech, business makes up only 1.5 of their 28 billion dollar Revenue. Oh, well, 13 billion that's like almost half know. It will be. Yeah. So come and CEO and president goal. That's the goal. Jennifer. Oh wait. What CEO what's her? What's the name of CEO Jennifer? Yeah. What happened there? See ya, this is not excellent. She wants to get this 1.5% to 50% over the next seven years. And under her tenure, Cummins has folded. Its existing clean power product into a new brand. It's called accelera and they will focus on batteries. Know you accelera is gonna become a competitor in Green Tech. Specifically going up against Tesla right? Do we know the influencer data on Cummins the board? Do we know we don't have it here? I'm just asking anyway. They're gonna do a whole bunch of like this and this I think I like this. No you don't. You're saying that because you don't hurt anyone's feelings. I'm just amazed that not having a goal. I'm just somebody's going up against Tesla in it green. I know I'm incredibly simple minded but I am. This is true. Weirdly just pleased that the CEO of the largest independent engine manufacturer for commercial. Industrial equipment is a woman. I actually think that I am pleased about it actually. You know what, I did. Look at their board data and 48% of the influence is with women. Yeah. And they represent like, 30% when we taped this show, We'll add that into the I think. She's just, no, no, I like that. No, like this. No. What I like about it. What makes a good list is that Ari's husband works for Pratt, which I think is a lot of talk about this. Um, I think they're directly. I think, I think we just praise the competitor. Well, let's talk about this. Sure are. Those are the three good stories. These are my three good stories. Foe in the drug Market Balboa reducing insulin prices, Ford issues a satirical. Look at why women are excellent actually, right? And Diesel giant. Coming has a clean technology like, oh, I don't know. What goal you read it. Like, that's pretty. Loud. Anyone have an early vote. I don't know where to go. Go ahead. I'm gonna vote for Ford. Yeah. I like the Novo Nordisk but it says, two slash. So it hasn't happened yet and I guess they're still time for them, not too, although I hope they fall through, you know. So I'm voting Ford because that's pretty badass. I'm gonna before Mac goes because I I'm not voting for fours. I'm gonna let see if Matt has a tiebreaker I'm going. Cummins. Oh, mostly because you didn't really sway me with the remaining directors held, this much influence, you kind of won me you know you said the Ford board that the the non four director's control, the women control 30% and what, okay? I like the comments you said about half the boards by female influence, so that aligns with us and I like that. So I'm gonna vote coming here. I'm gonna break the time. Yeah, but Ari is gonna break the tie because you're both wrong good because I can't celebrate a fake public companies commercial about female in, like commercial. I mean, how many of them did Ford actually give credit to those female inventors and they get paid and they own the patents? What zero percent of them? I don't know. Yeah, exactly. And and the commons one, we used to joke at the mothership about the banks giving financing goals for clean tech. They would like lay out. We're gonna Finance this much clean tech and then turns out clean tech was like a nuclear project by their brother Gus. And like this is stuff that like, one day. If 40 years from now, someone will care about. Congratulations. Novo Nordisk. What I'm what I'm thinking is good leads to the week, is that fopo exists? That's good, it's good. Where they Basically one person. And what this is, is proof of her think can work. Both ways you can bring down a bank with one. Percenter mean Banks runs by Tech Bros and or you can lower insulin costs in the same exact way? Do it away. All right, you're the tiebreaker. What's the actual goodly story of the week? Oh, Shit. Okay. Hold on, give me a second. I'm gonna go with just one right answer. You poisoned my brain man. Insulin know go with what you really think I'm straight to. That's that's I always that's what I'm always pushing our data always. Yeah. That's what I'm saying. There's one right answer. I want That brings us to asshole is the week. Imagine himself. Yeah, you bring your own, you yourself for this one? Okay, asshole is okay. All right, let's go. Oh, I like how short match section looks this week? Yeah. Except there's five items on. I don't care. It's just there's no, there's no paragraph. Well, the first item is Damien. Yes. Um, this is the first time I've been nominated. You've been nominated a lot for I know, because everybody nominates me for it. I'm, I feel proud Damien who after 20 years of being an analyst. Yeah, but analysts gee, analyzing companies gee governance. He had to use chat GPT to figure out earnings before taxes for Credit. Suisse he couldn't find it on a report that's where you're wrong. I used it for TSR like I couldn't understand the actual dividend yield even worse so I let them calculate it for me and it was a it was beautiful. I loved it. All I had to say that I had to ask the same question five times in a row for to finally answer it. So you're saying chapter gpt's the asshole? Yeah. And why it wouldn't answer, me wasn't efficient, not the fact that you had to ask. Yeah, Aria but asking him for five hours so what governance analyst, I don't do financials income statements. This is only someone knew those on our team. We do have a CPA the company. So Damien's. Number one, actually, it's Jesse number two, look, it would be easy. My number five Here Is MeMe, Bank runs by 1% Tech Bros. That's sort of like a dumb dunking on Tech Bros, who brought down a bank? Actually, I'm gonna. But why wouldn't we do that? Yeah, because it's boring and it's easy. So my number two here is Barney Frank. Yeah, he look, he didn't look too good this week. Look Barney Frank, if you live through the 2008 financial crisis was the guy in Congress. Grilling Executives about their poor governance about how they needed. Like, you know, governing needed to intervene and create these government systems. It's Dodd-Frank. The bill, no. Notice his name was second. Maybe he was more dot. Yeah. But even if it was 80/20, let's just say it's 80/20 died. Versus Frank. Frank still his name's there. It's, you can't scrub that from the record and Barney Frank, who was on the board of Signature Bank. Oh, he wasn't. He allowed. I mean, whatever you think about Frank and his governance or him like me, wanting to be on the board because his quote was, I need to make money, right? Like that was why he was on the board. Whatever you think about that once you're on the board, how hard is it to say to Signature Bank? Hey, our risk committee should have a risk expert on it and maybe not too Executives from the bank on it. He also lobbied to increase the threshold from, right from 50 billion, no to low. Wait to increase for 50 billion dollars, so the dollars so they were less less regulation over his bank so you don't have to do that. That's right. Like Barney Frank did himself. He died Franken. Yes. Lobbies that Signature Bank would avoid relationships that he created and excuse was, I need to make money like and then he has a whole sentence where he talks he talks about. Like, you know, speaker fees don't do it. I didn't want to be a Lobby, they do it help. You make money, like I don't know what kind of cost, Bernie Frank has and kudos to him for dipping into capitalism and making some money, but you can also have a modicum of Integrity. When your name is the regulatory bill that you just tried to get yourself exempt. I cry fall on this one because I've spent a lot of time in western Mass, you need like a couple dollars for a coffee. Maybe like 20 dollars for some weed. What else do you live in western Mass? Oh okay. All right, maybe he doesn't need money. So Barney Frank. Your number two on my asshole list number three. Is totally unrelated, okay? But we discovered this this week. Yeah. Strive Asset Management. That's Vivic presidential candidate presidential candidate like it means something. Well, it was true. So funny. Um, the most meritocratic company in the history of companies, right? That's their thing. Started to see strive, no more Dei because it's not a meritocracy. What did they do? What did we discover that happened? It could happen two weeks ago, but we discovered it this week. They started an activist campaign against Salesforce. He has a funny funny campaign. Oh, they were the by far. They had like, 6,000 shares in Salesforce and the other, there are four other activists who had millions of shares. My favorite part of the campaign was that they wanted to remove all utterances, all instances of the term. Stakeholder capitalism. You could that, you couldn't even their campaign was, don't say stakeholder, capitalism. Don't even say stop with racial Equity audits, stop with thinking about race and diversity at all. That was their campaign and even Mark, Benny off made a joke about it. Like anyone with a buck apparently can do like, a, you know, activist campaign. It was something along those lines. What did they do? They're so proud of their campaign. They removed the letter, they sent to sales force from their website because a few days later, because two days after they sent it sells, Force announced their largest Banner quarter ever and like they let her down they just Did not deny. The Excellence. Can I can I add an addendum here. Can you add an addendum? Is that redundant addendum the addendum addendum? This? What? We had a lot of fun with their voting record at Strife mostly because they their version of a meritocracy is basically targeting women. Women mostly women. Yeah, get them out. They have an updated it since we've started making fun of them. It's like stagnated at January 19th. What's going on? There we are. We made fun of it. So, come on strive, they realize they can't publish this anymore publish it. We want to make fun of you more, so the meritocracy died. When Salesforce actually having nothing to do with strive and stakeholder capitalism or whatever. They want to say, is the big problem how to banner year and they they quietly very quietly. But thanks to the way back machine if you want to copy of the letter. You want to call it 30? Yeah. But you asked holes quietly removed it. Your problem strive is that we have a nerdy librarian on me and I found that letter in 30 seconds. Asshole of this week. ISS. Oh why do you why are we always piling on ISS? Here's that line top proxy advisor, institutional, shareholder Services ISS on Thursday, said it would expand its offering of conservative leaning Council. What does that mean? It means they change their Global policy because Republicans say they don't think about conservative thought enough, they added to their policy that says they will consider basically conservative ideals in their proxy voting of examples. Know. I it wasn't that expansive what it is. Is fucking ridiculous. Okay. And they don't have political ideology in the rest of it. They don't. They just assume that because you're into diversity you must be liberal or like you believe in separating the roles of chair and CEO as a big. Yeah. That's a, you know, another big liberal causes tying CEO or voting against the director or fail that attendance that's like a liberal idea. Will causes we will ask follow-up questions. If you're director, oversaw bankruptcy. That's that's all the liberal stuff. The conservative stuff. The, the Bowing to the conservative ideology is, will will consider your ideology. So this is their version of the Larry Fink letter. I suppose, it's basically like if you are Conservative like you adopted the religion of conservatism. We will now look at our policies through that level. So, in the sense I'm okay, I'm I guess I'm okay with this because there is nothing political Or left-leaning or right leaning by ESG data. They just did that, they made it. What I, that's what I don't like about it. You assholes just made it political when it was just well, I know. But that's why we've talked about before. But that's the first of this whole Vivic LED movement is that there they're using politics to try to get politics out of something. It's a whole, a joke. It's part of the whole thing is a joke. Yeah, so you're, you're, you're four and a half options. Here are Damien the analysts using chat GPT for analysis, Barney Frank? Who needs to make money even though his name is Dodd-Frank, Bill strive for very quietly removing. Yeah, their sales force activist letter and i s s for adding politics. Well, not the not the number five, not the meme background number five. It's like I don't really I don't want meme tank runs by 1% Tech Bros to win so okay kind of them but not really well. Are you better not voting against me because you you were happy when I gave you that data, you didn't care. where I got it a couple hours late but I was happy but no, I'm gonna go with Barney Frank because that is I feel bad about this one. Yeah ironic that's just because you like, are you? So I used to like Barney friends. So, yeah, but this oh, this is a pure asshole. Why can't my boat doesn't matter then? Well, who would you have voted for? I love to vote against Drive. I want to have a campaign against stride that they can't remove letters. Yes, I probably I mean, I wanted to vote against the tech, bro. Yeah, I probably ended up. I would have gone up against Barney Frank. It's it's there. It's the Clean Sweep. That's so embarrassing. I'm he sure be getting more black, he should. Yeah, I mean, he did this from the financial times he literally did say, I need to, that's a quote, I needed money money. Yeah, I mean, come on. Yeah. What are you out? Are you, are you homeless like oh what is What's Happening Here? I need money. All right, so as always the week, unfortunately is someone I used to admire Barney Frank from the The wheat, the very weedy part of Massachusetts, you get like a good pension retires. Of course, free healthcare is living outside of his means, I think is, yeah, I think he is. Yeah. Last but not least the money. Whisperer an actual CPA, right? Yes. Jesse. What, what, why are you laughing? Because, actually, it's cool. First of all, this sounds smart, new by July. So makes a sound intelligent, when, when you call the money was whisper. And say, actual CPA also does make me think she's sleeps in a bed of money, and we're supposed to them, like caresses them quietly that's fine. It says her face too close to the microphone because of germs will sit in a Bed full of dollar bills and caress them under the first exhausting his of the week. What's exhausting you this weekend? All heated and it it was one of my exhausting articles of that week and guess what? AI chatbots are still exhausting me. Do you still exhausted by? Okay later. But this is a new one. This isn't bangs. Here's the hazards. Yeah, Snapchats AI. Could be the creepiest chatbot yet. Okay? Why? Because so they're AI is called my AI ready. All right. Yeah, I mean it's Snapchat, which is stupid, it's kind of ski V to begin with. So this is a little bit to be expected, but there were people testing the limits of my Ai and there was someone who told said that it was talking to a 15 year old girl, and it offered advice about how to hide the smells of alcohol though. It didn't know that the activities may be. Wow. How responsible where are they legal? Offered to write an essay for the supposed student and advice helpful continue using snap if their parents deleted. That one. But this is where it gets really. Yeah. There's another task conducted by the co-founder of Center for Humane technology and it gave advice to a supposed 13 year old on how to set the mood for their first time having sex with a 31 year old, what's she? She but I introduced Herself as a 13 year old and said that she met someone on Snapchat to which they were like, oh, isn't it? So fun meeting someone on Snapchat like you? And she's like, I really like him. But he is 18 years older that 31, like as long as you're being safe and you feel comfortable, and then she's like, yeah, he's gonna take me away, it's my birthday, take me away for the weekend and kill me just like a memorable time for your birthday and she goes. Yeah, we're thinking about having sex for the first. Oh, what I said it did say like, make sure you're being safe, but it was like, candles this music? Yeah, just kill me with this one. Okay? But if it was 10 and see, it'd be fine, right? And the red states are they lowering the age of marriage consent and all that stuff on the lowering it? I don't know. That exhausts the crap out of this worse than exhausted, anyways, yeah. Okay. What if, what, if the, the dude was wearing drag then? It would be a leader. That would be tough. That's true. I mean, Yeah, there could be catfishing, this is all hypothetical, but it doesn't sound very hypothetical. The fact that this could happen with the very little like prompting and like very obvious, there are very obvious, right? Alarms or alarms here alerts like it's why I get that AI can be good, but it can also be really, really creepy and their needs to be guardrails. So okay. Would you the exhausting part about this is to me is not the It's not the output which is horrible. It's snaps input was likely its own chats. Right? Like the Train, the AI. So think about what was the input source material for these? These the AI to responding this way? Yeah, real life. So it's reflecting from somewhere which means where's snaps most likely source of input, for its AI technology, its own chat. This surprise is nobody, which would mean that this isn't the creepy part isn't. What the AI said manifestation of the is that it reflects what's being said, in reality on its own platform that we move on. And now we've got pay gaps which always exhausts us but this time it's in college sports which is fairly new because it's only been two years since College athletes have been able to make money which I don't still don't really fully understand they make money. So all I'll tell you the two ways that they make money. So but here's the headline, make twice as much money as women under ncaa's new rules that allow college basketball players to cash in. Okay? So in 2021 Supreme Court cleared the way for them to benefit using their name image and likeness, it's referred to as nil since. Then they've earned six seven figures on these deals. So there's a data company called open doors. It's out of Lincoln Nebraska and this marketing, it's a marketing platform for athletes. So they looked into all of the state and they found that male college basketball players, make twice as much as their female counterparts. And here's the two ways that they get paid. So there's traditional endorsements, which are, you know, how they make money Mountain Dew, come this or they can Gatorade take corned beef hash. Yeah. And then the second way is, through nil collectives where you are, donors and alumni is that establish funds that pool money from businesses and fans and then give it back to the creepy creepy alums. And this is like swaying that like these players know where there are. You like well-paying? And I'll Collective will actually sway where they go to school. Yeah. You can't blame the players, really. Can, you know? And so open doors found that excluding the money from those collectives males and female basketball players made roughly the same amount of money. Oh it's specifically the collectives that are exacerbating the gender. Oh this is all surprising to me. Is it the fact that they had made the same amount? Know, well, because it excluding the collective because that's just work so well for women. Because if you look at their audiences and how they show up on social, they've gone, they're like, just more nurturing to the audience, so they can make money well, drill, too, right. Am I right? Am I right? And so, just see, like, okay, when it's out of their hands and it's all these collectives and they can't really do much, of course like men just in general whoever's creating these collectives are already supporting men's sports professionally. And so now it's trickling down, just a depress. You that I actually think that. That number is surprisingly good. They only make twice as much. I actually would have thought it was be way worse. Well, do you want to hear what's sad? Let me just follow it up with nothing. I agree with it. I'm just saying, like, I thought it would have been way worse statistics for a lot of women, basketball for a lot of women's basketball players college is the peak of their own potential. Because there will be Women's basketball players that get drafted to the WNBA and take a pay cut now. Wow, really? Yes? Yes. So anyway and why? Because the because there's so much money in these and I know Collective. Yeah, it said they make six seven figures on well, even endorsements. They could they may still got them and the WNBA but I blame ESPN. Okay, I actually don't, I don't know. Okay, so anyways, that's pay gaps now. Trickles down to college sports. All right. Well, I'm again, before we ever wrap up just these category, I get very exhausted. You're very good at this, what else? Are you exhausted by? Yeah, to be exhausted by. It's the state of Texas. Oh no, this time the Republican dominated. Texas State Board of Education, altered. I don't want to schools last month to emphasize the positive aspects of fossil fuels in science, textbook. Taste great changes are raising concerns among scientists education, experts other board members. Of course that they're going to that these textbooks will undermine basic tenants of climate change for years to come and the board member who proposed us her name is Patricia. Hardy has rejected climate science, of course, and argued that the current teaching are two negative. Oh my God. I got a worse one for you, Jesse. Yeah, I read this morning. This one floored me in Rolling Stone at a Florida that they removed any reference to race in textbooks regarding Rosa Parks. That's awesome. So, they removed the part of the of the history where she was asked to move to the back of the bus because of her Race. So what's the story and they rephrase it as it? She was asked to move to the back of the bus. And yes, they removed. The instance of the racial part of that story, this is because then when she, she wasn't discriminated against for being black. She was discriminated against because she was a shrill woman. I am, I have no words for this. I can't even always just been manipulated like this. Yeah, that's well, that might be true. But yeah, this one anyways, that's pretty bad. Yeah, she also said that the Earth's warming temperatures are a result of natural fluctuation that this would happen is it. Because of woke up because of words I love it. Like the Liberals are the woke mind virus ideology like I guess maybe liberal Both having ever controlled textbooks, like they're just people who learn stuff and then write it down and write and then the textbook companies make these choices. But I don't remember. Everything like hearing about how they took a theory that was unproven and slapped in a textbook and and change the ideology of the entire country or just reroute the actual history. Like like now she was really just write truth. Yeah, objective truth. All right. Who wants to vote Texas? He wants to go first easy, light stuff for our Friday. Yeah, let's end. This show was I'm gonna vote first. Go ahead. I mean, the Texas thing seems in character. And terrible. but, I feel like in the pay Gap thing also is like persistent, there is nothing more exhausting than in the same week where Silicon Valley Bank the tech bro, 1% or Bank. Fails because Tech Bros all get together and freak out collectively about their money and crush a bank as a result and then ask the government to backstop their deposits after they freaked out about it. Another white Tech, bro. Snap is a fake public company where 90% it doesn't even 90%, like it's unmoor. More. Precedented amount is owned by the one white founder technical 30 year old. Yeah, I heard with non-voting shares, was that, right? Yeah. It was the first level, right? They really basically just said this all fake horrible example of the worst. Example, of governance goes out and launches and AI chatbot that is likely trained by its own platform, but he does date models in order to sell his platform. They, they had language to the ah, chapter saying how great Snapchat is and then tells 13 year olds. To have sex with 31 year olds? I'm not sure it gets more exhausting than that. No, I'm gonna go. I'm going with that. Just so Ari can break a tie. I'm going with pay-ups because only because I feel like this is one that we can all agree to just solve immediately. I don't I don't know what the obstacle is here, right? We've been talking about this for a long enough. Well then I feel like, when are we just go in there and solve it? Yeah, that would be great. This is, I don't find this to be very challenging. I mean, especially a Collegiate level. Well, much like in women's soccer, they figure don't you have to be, but they figure out a pool, the money, in order to even have that stands, like these got these. I'm gonna call them guys behind these and Ill collectives. They don't care about Equity. But so it goes to the Collegiate players pool, and it gets it just gets dispersed. Like this, isn't this, how they solved it for women's soccer team? Can I tell you how strive with respond to that women? Can't dunk. That's what they probably said. No lower. No, one wants to watch the women and they want to watch that but still, but it's a lie. I'm telling you, that's what they would say. I don't look at the ratings. So that's where I'm going. Jesse just so Ari can break the tie. Yeah. See how I always go to like make the show a little more interesting and if I agree with Matt, all of this is so exhausting to me, messing with textbooks is so exhausting AI. Some things just don't need AI, haven't we thought TSR Credit. Suisse need day because I I couldn't understand this for the second Administration in a row. We're so focused on tiktok and banning tiktok. What about Snapchat? Oh, about it. Yeah or that that's that. That is the. We brought that up on this show over and over and over again. It's still doesn't so sunken in outside of the show that China and Zuckerberg and snap on the same fucking thing. Autocratic regime making decisions. We're just okay all control by North Korea for okay dude but oh China China yeah go ahead continue. I'm gonna go with pay gaps because Dave and You know, thank you. You really got me with this. Thank you. So we can just solve this. No, it's right, we know how to solve it. We do it. Plus we as Jesse's sing, We have the data, we have exactly. Yeah, like good. Yeah, somebody just don't worry about, like you. I like, Know, but it made us think I was hoping it was going to the landmines. I better. before we wrap up this monstrosity, Winners winners of the week. Can I go first mine's really simple and easy, clearly, it's Failed CEO. Greg. Becker CFLs upon Valley Bank already. I've never been to Hawaii. Look, I never been out in Los Angeles. This guy is already in a gated community in Hawaii. After a colossal failure. This is This is what failing up look like lost soul, meritocracy, doesn't matter to see. So Greg Becker, congratulations. You get a free vacation. I'm gonna go with the acronym FDIC. Okay, everyone is Googling it. It has the highest popularity on Google Trends in the last five years. Why is that true? You know, that's the highest you're the data Queen. Its highest popularity. That's oh, it's highest. I got it. It's not 100.005% average influencer and he gets to keep the money even though the bank fails. So that's another fail, that's the winner. So that and he was RS asshole the week. So, the assholes also the winner See winner, mine is Guinness because more than 13 million pints of Guinness are consumed, which is 100 or 819%. Morgan is than usual. Well, have we turned all things considered? Is that what this show just became? You're doing that? Because, because it's Saint Patrick's Day in this country, we left out the fact that I don't actually like beer but I don't mind a Guinness. I don't mind again, always drinking like they don't Guinness is just like whatever and that on Saint Patrick's Day. Everyone's like, we want to get Jesse get over. All right predictions, I like that. There's a number predictions. I have a long one so everyone else. Go first, are you go first? Okay, I'll go first. I think Stitch fix is gonna go down. Wait what. Okay wait, what two questions? What is Stitch fix and why is it gonna go down? Stitch fix is a service, it's a box service for, for clothing. Okay, for women. Okay? Okay. You get new clothes, you get clothing in a box and men too. I'm guessing there's a version of that for men not stitch but not so it sounds woke. If women are CFO stepping down in April 3rd their CEO left a couple months ago. Boomerang CEO Katrina Lake oh nice came back as interim CEO right now publicly traded company. Yes they're earnings. They're earnings call and Tuesday reported the sales fell 20%. They lost 11% of their clients and revenue per client declined. 6% are people are just done with this crap. She didn't ask Chuck gbt for that. That's, that's the I am tasking you next week to tell us some more about the our data. On Stitch. But now I'm curious and we love a boomerang CEO here. The only reason why they're hanging on is just because of layoffs and closing distribution facilities. And I don't think that's gonna last. And I think this is another example of limiting AI because they really leaned into that, to show people what they like choices, but nobody cares. Except once people got enough clothes like the AI, didn't know what to do anymore. Well, that's actually promising. That people realize they have enough clothes and not just. So, I, this is a, this is a long long term prediction. I think they're gonna go down gonna go down. They're bankrupt bankrupt? Yeah, I think he, yeah. My Done done. Maybe we can buy them and we can buy all birds you're full of gold. Maybe we can buy both companies. Maybe you can get some clothes. It was good ideas coming. Uh I have a quick prediction failed svb CEO and CFO both rehired before the end of the year whenever they get tired of the of the beach and or run out of organic SPF 50. Wow. But they're gonna be like, I want that. They will fail back up and they will be reappointed there. Just like the Layman Brothers CFO he will and money. So I guess that's not just failing up. There's actually a very real thing. What happens when you've gone through a failure at your company that that person often gets hired as an advisor, the resilience like because seeing a failure and now you want that consultant it's a real they should do that pro bono. Do you know Andy fast out who was the CFO of Enron wrote a book and does speaking tours about how people commit Frost? Yeah, you couldn't. Make the Wall Street. Your crimes, same thing how to do Boiler Room tactics is a real thing. Matt. Get to your long-winded predictions. Let me do my oh Jesse, excuse me. Excuse me, my 2020. One of my 2023. Go ahead and closer to my prediction that investors will finally appreciate my cortisol relationships. Oh my God. And invest millions and fungi because why this headline I saw this mushrooms alongside trees could feed millions and mitigate effects of Clans. I love that or maybe we're making our way. Yeah, I agree with you just and I am shame that you are for not picking up on this headline, that was Helen was for you. That's how was that not goodly? I didn't see that. Okay, here's the real prediction, right? Um, the founder fetish economy is dead. Oh yeah, right. You let him talk or the hoodie. Founder was dead. Remember this is dead. All the young Marcus Zuckerberg's out. There will need to get loans from the bank of Jamie dimon for the foreseeable future. And Competing with Jane, the mechanic and Gus the guy at the local home design company. Because, you know what, you can't just go in and fist bump. The CEO of svb, who will give you a loan for 10 million bucks because Peter Thiel is backing your company. It's not gonna happen anymore. Now you gotta get in line through the rest. Are you being hopeful? You really think? Oh, I think I think this is real. I think the don't have to go to the grown-ups, they're gonna have to go on a blind but here's where it gets bad because the results. Yeah is startup Founders complain. That affirmative action is the reason they're not educated enough and don't have a leg up in the system because now they have to wait in line with everybody else. And they are all their slots have been taking by affirmative action and that's why they're not educated. And that's why they're waiting in a long lines with everyone else, leading to a new branch of college education, starting at Prager University, called critical white Theory, which is where we study the systemic bias against white men, living in the San Francisco Bay. Area. That is my prediction. That is the show. We are free flow. That was business. Are you saying my grandchildren are going to be studying white studies at Overland white Theory. Yeah. Cwt Top by Oh, wow. Yeah, brown man is teaching of critical white Theory. That's our show that's the week. It was an exhausting week of news. We are free float. This is business pants. Come back next week, where we say more things and do them all so and buy board sabermetrics, until then goodbye, This couch is destroying my body.
