Live from board sabermetrics headquarters. It's a Thursday game show edition of business pants joined by Ari the data Queen and Jesse the money Whisperer woohoo. Yep. BS man. Is not here. I had quarters today. Matt, the BS man is where is he? It's a silent Retreat. Some kind of he's scouting our second office in Hawaii because one story open up a second office soon. I hear yes. Yes. In the budget, we will not hire any new employees but These employees, maybe go to Hawaii. In today's recyclable bag of veggies straws called April 6th 2023, a big fat glorious ESG news quiz. I got crushed last quiz so I'm looking forward to this one. Well this I think this is our first quiz without Matt. So I'm guessing that all right. Somebody else can win, not that. Before we get going on the fabulous. ESG news quiz have either one of you noticed that I don't seem to crash as much as I used to in the afternoon. You do seem a little bit more pleasant than usual. Oh geez, I didn't it's not what I asked a little more optimistic. Do you want to know why? Yeah, tell us why. I think we could use a little bit of that. I've been drinking this shot of matcha tea called Magic mind What's Magic? What's magical about it Magic. Mike magic, have you been watching Magic Mike? I can see why you say that? No, it's called Magic mind. Oh, mine. It's a shot of matcha tea along with some other wonderful ingredients and, you know, I used to be up and down all day constantly chugging coffee. I had this thermos that keeps it really hot but now I'm just kind of nice kind of nice caffeine Buzz going. I got a nice energy level was a good, I'm not cranky and my strap. He? Loved my channel. I love matcha tea. Yeah. In fact, he promised to make me so much a t next time I love, right? Yep. Do you have a little whisk? Oh what? In West cuz you're not really supposed to use metal. So that's why my energy levels have been great magic mine and for our listeners they go to the magic mine website, the next 10 days. That's Magic mind dot Co slash business pants. Yeah, I'll have them. Send you. Some. I'll order them to do. Whatever I want. Sounds great. I'm good. Cool, let's do the quiz. Ready. Yeah, I'm ready. Ready to take her down? We have a very strange prize for the winner of this issue. News quiz. You ready for it? Well, like a punishment I think is it just probably The winner gets to host tomorrow's Friday. Show me the three of us. Is it a punishment? No, I'm just kidding. I get to tell you to shut up now so I like this. Yeah, I really think of myself as the winner. So I got to tell you, shut up to tomorrow. Honestly, I'm happy to. I have to host this stupid show. Five days a week. I'm happy to handle back. Relax on the Friday show. Yeah. Okay here we go. I got 10, ESG news questions. It's gonna be a bit different this week. We only have a few multiple choice questions for the others. Ari and Jesse are going to text me their answers. I'll pick the best answer, the closest answer and that's how is it fill in the blank? Pretty much. Yeah, you'll see they're not this is not a difficult tricky quiz, it's just if you've been I want to see who's been following the ESG news following. The the news that is pertinent to us here at free flow in. Fort saber metrics ready? First question, right ready. Where's questions very long winded? As you can see, I'm always kind of sort of selling our product as I asked questions, this is what I do ready. There is a new CEO at Lyft. David risher. We reported about that. Yeah, we reported earlier that since former CEO and co-founder Logan green will transition to board chair and co-founder. John Zimmer will transition to Vice chair lift is still controlled by its co-founders who control according to our data almost 80% of board influence. It's a lot. Wow. Alright. So Matt was wondering, what the hell is this? Even really? So that again the two co-founders are not going anywhere? They're staying on the board. So that's your background for this question. How much according to news reports, how much is new CEO of Lyft? David Richards, how much is this stock award worth? If lifts share price hits $80? What is that right now? I have four facts for you to consider our four facts lifts IPO share price was 72 dollars. Wow. Few years ago in 2021 Lyft share price was over 66 dollars. Sad lift has never been profitable. Lift made four billion dollars in Revenue last year. So once again how much is new CEO David Richard Stark award worth? Hip lift share price hits 80 dollars. So go ahead and text me. It sounds like he's not gonna hit this number, but He can try Jesse's answer is in. Both the answers in, I like this new system. It's very exciting for me. Wow. I feel he's laughing at us. I'm what was or both of us are way off. I'm gonna have to play this for you both. But Jesse does get the point here. I have to I have to give out a point. Ari came in at a very low, 10 million dollars. Jesse came in oh we're kind of on the same page almost equally low 12 million dollars that does give 50 dollars. If new Lyft, CEO David Richard. If the stock price hits $80, his stock award will be worth 900 and 980 million dollars. You stop that. Oh wait I thought he was like a lot. Oh, okay, there you go. That's the first third, Jesse, with the early lead. A billion that's a billion. You can just billion. It is a billion but I wanted to be precise. I know we make fun of things a lot here, but I do a lot of actual research. We all should be offended with that. We want to be precise. Because billions is not true, it's only it's worth 980 million dollars. I mean you could just sneeze and have a billion Question number two, Twitter. Well I should call this Elon Musk. Elon Musk. Just labeled media organization NPR as what, what is Twitter now calling NPR. This is been in the news. Big news this week. Elon Musk is always fighting with people. Like an insult. Ari's answer is in, Jessie is still typing, they're labeling and PR, I went with a classic hit, they're labeling NPR on the Twitter service, Ari's answer is woke. That's actually It's a good answer. That's a good answer. It's standard. It's wrong. Jessie. Said evil liberal monsters. I mean, you're both, you're both sort of correct. But but of course, since he's such a Troll, he's taking it. The next step this is, I think that's the reason why he's pissed off at them. He is now labeling them as state Affiliated media. Oh, which is reserved for propaganda arms, like you'll see in Russia in China and this is against their previous policy which excluded and PR and BBC from such a label. But of course Elon is just constantly airing out his grievances, his constantly, mad at everybody. So I have to award a point here though, you gotta give it to Rory. Hi. Jesse doesn't want to host. Can you hear it? Yeah. I'm just gonna give it to or just so we can even out the score but both the same answer. But this is a stupid quiz. So you know this contention just keep this fun bonus question. What percentage of NPR's annual operating budget on average comes from Grants from The Corporation for Public Broadcasting and federal agencies and departments. So, what I'm really asking is how much revenue on their budget, do they actually get from the state right? Is Elon, right? I mean, how high is this? Number Ari's answer in quickly, Jesse's in Jesse with 15%, which seems kind of low to me, right? Or even lower it, 3%. I forgot a zero. Just say 30%. No, I didn't. Are your closest you get the point on this one. The average budget coming from the government for NPR is less than 1%. Oh wow. Yeah I'm not surprised. I mean I was surprised by that. I thought I'd be a little bit higher. Are you supporting Public Radio? Yeah, I would guess they have a lot of advertisement. How 19 come. But you I would think that I mean I get the Elon Musk is a disaster and he's just again he's just gets angry but I thought maybe that number would be a bit higher to prove that what he's saying is accurate. But he proved also every time you listen to NPR and they report on a story about, you know, like I don't know, the Washington Post and Microsoft for whatever they do say By the way, they do sponsor us, right, whatever company, they get sponsored by so many companies, and I'm sure those people give a lot of money, just to write it off as a tax cut. Next question, double bonus staying with NPR for one more question. What is the top source of NPR's revenues? What's the top source? Type of money, what type of money represents their topsource and NPR? Remember Elon Musk now calling them State affiliated? Jesse says advertisements which is partly true. Jesse Ari says corporate money. I'm gonna give this one to Ari only because you're right. Jesse it does come in the form of advertisements. But it's specifically its corporate advertisements because they get ads from other sources too. But yes, their primary source of Revenue is actually corporations. So this diet tribe against NPR is just completely ridiculous. So there you go. Oh, Jesse, are you opening up in early three to one? Yeah, I'm getting a little nervous here. Question number five for our ESG news quiz for April 6th 2023. See my energy levels. See how great they are. Yeah yeah come on. Keep it going man. Here it is. Chipotle Are you love Chipotle Chipotle? Chipotle is suing sweet green. It has anyone ever been a sweet green? Yeah, I like sweet green. It's there. I don't know if there any in heart for there are a lot of chains in Boston, Boston. Yeah, it's a great. It's like a salad. A salad company. It's but it's tasty. But it's good. You would love it. You love salad. I love salad. Okay. Oh go on. Chipotle is suing sweet green over sweet greens. Use of which word while promoting a new burrito bowl. What's the word they're suing over? I like Aries answer. Oh, okay. Aries. Answer is chicken. I like that. Unfortunately, that's wrong. I imagine if they did that, they traded for chicken. I would love that. Jesse's answer is so Frito. Ooh, interesting. Oh, it's it for burrito. I'm gonna go to I'm gonna give Jesse the point here. So Frieda is there, like, tofu is that why? But you both is a burrito It's gotta be something specific to them, right. Know what the word is, what is it carnitas? It's Chipotle. They reference the spice. Can't do that Chipotle's, I read. I even read this headline this morning because I get targeted Chipotle. Wait, how that's not gonna go through, right? Because Chipotle is a thing. That like what? If you're describing the food, I want you to take a look at this. Can you see the image on your screen? Yeah, yeah. For those of you listening at home, just Google the story. I can't take care of you. Every moment of the show. So how dare you? According to the complaint, what they're really upset about two is, is not just the word Chipotle, but believe that the font the font of Chipotle as it appears in ads is infringing on his trademark. Yeah, because of the right, because it's all uppercase. It's white with a red background. I don't personally see it. It's not The same font at all. So basically, it's like doing because they're using chicken, got it? And what's the, what's the worst case scenario here? If you walk by this ad? When you, you know, you go into the subway, you're going to get your bus that you end up going to, it makes you hungry for Chipotle and you go to Chipotle is coming in. Do people over like with it? Do they are they arguing the people are gonna get confused and accidentally go in there thinking they're getting Chipotle I suppose. But couldn't also just as easily send you to Chipotle because it makes you think. Yeah, I don't get this doing. Yeah. All right versus sansara. Font. So I don't really see how they can say, it's the same. This is just Petty to meet Chipotle wants sweet green to stop selling the bowl and to pay it, damages legal fees. And the prophet has realized so far from the item, that's a lot. That's a lot outrageous. That's the question. So I'm giving that one coming back. This might come back even though he didn't really get it, but that's, I know. Damn, I even read this headline. Question. Number six, Apple. The company Apple has hidden a, what? What has it hidden in every Macintosh computer since 2018, according to a tech blogger, who discovered it by accident. It's hidden something what? Yeah, in fact, I'll give you, I'll give you a multiple choice on this one. Oh nice multiple choice. Sure has it hidden. A Apple Store discount code know as it hidden a Bitcoin. Manifesto has it hidden and open letter to Future Generations. Warning them about tech use. Or has Apple hidden in all of its Macintosh code all its code has a hidden in unpublished Memoir written by Steve Jobs. Are his answer is in. Arizona quickly, a discount code a Bitcoin Manifesto and open letter to Future Generations. Wearing them about tech use or a memoir. Steve Jobs Memoir on published. Both answers are in Ari coming in with open letter. Right, because we've been talking about this a lot. A lot of the tech companies are they don't let their own children. Use detect that they're selling and Jesse says a discount code. Oh, this is a because you're both. Is it? What is it? I'm gonna go to Know, it's got to be the Memoir how to award a point. Maybe I just won't. Yeah, this one, the answer is strangely, oddly enough. It's been hiding a Bitcoin Manifesto, a PDF copy of Satoshi, nakamoto's Bitcoin. White paper is why code of every Apple computer I've known There's some theories are saying that maybe it's because they were they needed to test and embedded PDF in the code and they just happen. It just happened to use that one. Thought that was a strange. I need to take my computer apart and check. Yeah, you should. Well, you don't actually physically have to take it apart to find joke. Okay. But I did see Jesse thinking about Ari getting a screwdriver out. I was like that what we're gonna do for the rest of the afternoon. Yeah, that's my day. That's not there. So you take apart your computers. Next question. LinkedIn. Co-founder Reid, Hoffman. Who was also a director at Microsoft, a director at vertical taxi company, Joby, aviation in a director at self-driving company, Aurora Innovation, he credits who, as his biggest influence, it was the biggest influence for LinkedIn. Co-founder Reid, Hoffman Closest answer gets the point closest. Degrees of freedom or what? Well, are you? I always pushing that works. Yeah, you're tracking networks for part of our board saber metrics. I thought you'd like this one. Ari's answer is in. But how old is this person? I'm sorry. The founder of LinkedIn is gonna be at least around 50, right? I mean, oh, is it too late to change? My answer? Both of your answers were very similar. Yeah, no. Go ahead. Change your answer. Change your answer. If you want Ari's changing her answer. Jesse. That means that you all get to change your answer. Pretty proud of your answer, fine. All right. Oh interesting. Oh that late change is actually going to give Ari the point, Jesse said, Jesse said, Bill Gates, which is actually a great answer. Thank you. Okay, me feel better. Well, know really Bill Gates, the founder of Microsoft who Microsoft bought LinkedIn, write, and read Hoffman remains on the board of Microsoft. So that makes sense to me re started with Zach, Mark. Zucker really made very little sense. I don't think any, I don't think Mark Zuckerberg is anyone? That is Is a lie. You would be scared to know how many people I don't. Well, you know, Are we rightly changed her? Answer to Warren, Buffett the America's favorite investment, someone like a historical scientists or he's going well, Jesse, you're actually getting closer to the real answer but but I but I'm Gonna Change it to. But then I was like so much one just to which like Einstein or I don't know someone getting closer to the reality. Does this Tesla? Does this hint help you read Hoffman actually has a master's degree in Philosophy from Oxford University? Soccer teams. Well like Play-Doh in any case his biggest influence is Buddha. Whoa. Right? Who no one would have thought that. But but Ari Warren really is the investment Buddha of all America. Oh, belly. Or is so he gets the Buddha because he know the lanterns. I'll take it closest answer. Definitely, I cannot believe I am boosted, my independent interest in Buddhism that. You would put Warren Buffett. Camp. I was actually just imagining only because he's just rounder than Bill Gates. Rude, says like a nice. Are you to win? I really don't. Actually, I really don't. Question number eight, this one's for Ari Ari's been talking a lot about this one. Media Tycoon Rupert Murdoch a fox Corporation in news corporation. Yeah, he's on, he's the main influencer on both of those companies. According to Ari's data here at Portsmith, he had a big week, a Delaware judge said Wednesday that Rupert Murdoch and his son Lachlan, who is CEO at Fox Corporation can be called to testify at trial and Dominion voting systems, 1.6 billion dollar to defamation suit against Fox News. This is good for us, of course because we're hoping that Rupert Murdoch has to go in there and say stuff. And then just yesterday, Ari, 92 year old Rupert Murdoch called off his engagement. To an Leslie Smith. Remember you were talking about? Weren't you talking about him getting engaged? I was according to BBC. What is the reason why? Why is Rupert Murdoch calling us? I know this answer wins. You have said except I didn't actually click on the story. I don't care about. This is why I have the quiz Jesse's already riding are. You're just filibuster? Why why did they break up? Did they break up or did they just not getting married? The called off the engagement? That's all says, according to BBC that's like breaking up. Isn't it calling off an engagement? That's not very romantic. Oh my God, I have no idea. I can't even come up with anything funny. I'll just give the point to Jesse then if you don't know, stop She already does want to winch competitive. Yes, she does. Even with a 4-2 lead. She wants to play really were that close. Oh, Jesse. With kind of a depressing answer. Okay. True, I sent something in whatever. Ari says because he did not want an event anymore. Okay, he didn't want a wedding, you didn't want the ceremony. Like the, the party is too much for him and really, I think Jesse was a similar answer because what's the point of getting married, he's 92. Really to infirm. We're gonna like be married for a few years. I don't know how to award the point in this one. I'll tell you the answer and you tell me if one of you feels like they were closer because because he had become uncomfortable with her outspoken, Evangelical views, no point. Nobody Oak know, it's not a joke. This is from the BBC, not according to Elon Musk, that's not a state Affiliated. Media organization, what if she had gone in Fox News and made her opinions vocal? And that case he would he would happily make a lot of money off of it. All right. Wait, but are that is he worried? They're gonna like affect his reputation. What it doesn't go on a detail. But the BBC very explicitly says that this is the reason why he called off the engagement valid. I would have done the same actually, that's I'd be very uncomfortable with that. I appreciate that one. That was fun, but no point where. Yeah, Jesse. What's that 92? That's in 22. Speaking of 92, speaking of old people and Aries database. Let's talk about Warren Buffett. Oh, back to Warren Buffett, Warren Buffett's BFF, Charlie Munger Thought it was gonna be 99 year old. Charlie has been director at Berkshire for 45 years as well as director at Costco for 26 years, okay? According to Fortune. How did Charlie recently described the Stark stock market? The closest answer wins. How is Charlie Munger describing the stock market? That's Warren Buffett's, BFF Ari, with a quick answer. Jesse still thinking. How did Charlie Munger describe the stock market? That's a Warren Buffett, Jesse's answer, and we'll start with Jesse. Jesse says it has not bottomed out yet. Interesting. And Ari says, very matter-of-factly that it is Stark. I was gonna. Say so, Charlie was really focused in on how investors gamble with the stock market and he said, it's like taking heroin. Oh shoulder. I was so most people don't do that, right, what don't you chose? People are like long-term investors. Not according to Charlie Munger, he thinks there's a bit. There's a major gambling problem with the stock market. Again, he like into taking heroin. I don't know. How do you think he's taking heroin? I think he understands what that means. Maybe, maybe he's old. He's alive. Yeah, that's true. So, do we have a closest answer to this one? I'll just give it to Jesse so that we can. Maybe we can get a tie. All right. All right. Four to three. One more question. And that's what I actually have some tiebreakers, don't? Okay, one more question. Staying with Charlie Munger, how did Charlie Munger say, the stock market could be fixed closest to answer? When how could we fix the stock market? According to Charlie Munger Again, he's saying that it's causing a ton of addiction like using heroin. Something. He's very disturbed by clearly not the first time, he said this both answers in Jesse says regulation to answer. It's, it's the right answer. I mean, right, meaning, not correct, but it does seem like a good answer. A good remedy for the problem. Ari says, get rid of investment apps. I like that. Answer, that probably would go under the purview of Regulation, right? Yeah. Maybe they're related there but talking about big investors for gambling, right? He's not talking about the little people talk about every time. But everybody, let's talk about just there's an obsession people have an obsession with trying to gain the stock market. They're just constantly, I think really, he is talking mostly about day, Traders short sellers people who are not in it for the long term, according Charlie Munger. He says he sees, no way to fix it. I think the chances of changing it are practically zero so he has no remedy not no one went. Oh, nobody wins know but, but there is a big winner for the show today. That's the last question. Who our host for tomorrow's? Friday show is. play that, but it is. Are the data Queen? Yeah. First Five Bruno, Mars. Sorry, Jesse. That's okay. There's I try to make this quiz there. This this prize for more quizzes. That one Matt's here though. I don't know how I feel about winning with four out of 10 but look this is it was I don't usually do a quiz like this. I usually throw out multiple choice questions but I tend to think sometimes those can be a bit long-winded and the audience you know you lose track of all the answers. So yeah maybe this would be more fair are you should really like it because you won so tomorrow. Please join us tomorrow for the Friday show hosted by are the data queen. As we go over all the favorite stories of the week, all the fun stuff. Good list. Everything. We wrap up the week. Tomorrow here. This is Penn's that's all I have.
